I was a caddy every summer from 1958 to 1964 at a high end country club. Only handicapped members could use an electronic cart. They wanted to support caddies. In 1959 I was 12 and they held the amateur Trans Mississippi at the course. They brought in caddies from other Minneapolis are courses. I was too your to have a golfer, but they made me a forecaddy on the 14th hole. It was qualifying then match play the top 16 or such. The final day it was 2 left and the caddy of the winner knew my older sister and asked if I'd replace the divots for the 36 match play final as it was not roped off. The winner was 19 year old Jack Nicklaus and Dean Beman, who later became a PGA multi winner and head of the players association got 2nd and then won the event the next year. Jack was the most intense golfer I ever saw.
Jack asked his caddy if he'd ever be interested in being his professional caddy. But, he was going to be the starting QB as a senior on his high school football team, starting guard on the basketball team and probably a 10 or less handicap golfer on the golf team. He passed it by. He had no regrets looking back, tough life to be a caddie for a professional and raising a family, pay was not all that much back then. He was along the ropes at a tourney in Phoenix 20 years later and he called out Jack walking and Jack walked up to him and shook his hand, remembering him.
So, that's my claim to fame, I replaced Jack Nicklaus's divots for 36 holes, lol.
Oh and Jack won the same tourney the previous year as an 18 year old.

I liked Lord Robertson, "My favorite shots are the practice swing and the conceded putt." And yes, those 3 foot putts are more nerve wracking than longer ones.
Ben Hogan's quote about 2 games, one played in the air and the other on the ground, never thought of it that way. But many other sports are that way too? Baseball has a ground ball and a fly ball. Football a running game and a passing game, etc. LOL.

bigworld, I feel were are seeing consolidation of assets by the "Deep State." Either the little guys sell to them ,or have their patents stolen, The fortune 500 are mostly world wide companies. It is more about controlling people. UN Agenda 2030 spells it all out. IMO, they are just making everything look bad so many will welcome a new world government. It will be based an the socialist systems of Russia and China. Socialism, Planned economies, etc. are just nice sounding words for slavery. My thought is they got the best think tanks and I don't see why that can't do this without killing, ruining so many lives, etc. so many people. I have never seen a wildfire aftermath like Lahaina had that the remains are white ashes, not black. Kill 100,000 people, fine with them. Build a futuristic 15 minute city i it's place and everything will be for "The Greater Good", their theme song line for justifying anything they do. Black Rock and Vanguard have a lot of financial power with their mutual fund holdings. If both of them have a lot of shares in a stock you like, buy it. If they bail, flee.

Lights Out: Solar Power Stocks Crash After Demand Warning Across Europe
https://www.zerohedge.com/commodities/lights-out-solar-power-stocks-crash-after-demand-warning-across-europe
The renewable energy meltdown continues as solar power company stocks tumbled on Friday morning after solar equipment maker SolarEdge Technologies warned of sliding European demand.
"During the second part of the third quarter of 2023, we experienced substantial unexpected cancellations and pushouts of existing backlog from our European distributors," said SolarEdge CEO Zvi Lando in a statement.
Lando said, "We attribute these cancellations and pushouts to higher-than-expected inventory in the channels and slower-than-expected installation rates. In particular, installation rates for the third quarter were much slower at the end of the summer and in September where traditionally there is a rise in installation rates."
SolarEdge also announced preliminary third-quarter results, with third-quarter revenues ranging from $720 million to $730 million, compared to the previous expectation of $880 million to $920 million.
Shares of SolarEdge crashed as much as 28% in premarket trading in New York. Also, Competitor Enphase Energy plunged 17%, Sunrun -9%, and SunPower -8%.
Here's what Wall Street analysts are saying about SolarEdge's dismal outlook (list courtesy via Bloomberg):
Goldman Sachs (cut to neutral from buy; PT to $131 from $254)
Downgrade reflects SolarEdge's negative pre-announcement on "significantly weaker installation rates"
"After a second straight disappointing quarter of results/guidance, we find it hard to defend the stock"
Deutsche Bank analyst Corinne Blanchard
Cut the recommendation on SolarEdge to hold
Trimming numbers for most solar companies, as expects further downside with sluggish demand in the US and European residential market
Also downgrades Sunrun and Sunnova recommendations to hold
BMO analyst Ameet Thakkar (outperform, PT $216)
Expected for a negative update this quarter but SolarEdge's comments suggest 4Q forecast "will be materially lower than this"
The stock should be "under significant pressure"
Truist Securities analyst Jordan Levy (buy, PT $180)
SolarEdge's 3Q outlook cut reflects challenges beyond the US market
The company cut its guidance as European residential solar markets weakened during the quarter
Solar demand has also slid in the US due to high-interest rates and less favorable state renewable policies.
We've been keeping an eye on the financial crisis brewing in the offshore wind industry.
The ultra-efficient and reliable form of clean energy production is an essential component of all of the world's possible decarbonization pathways, but soaring inflation costs have undercut the sector's growth and left major projects dead in the water just when their output is most needed. A major policy shift is in order, but the public and private sector are at loggerheads as to who should have to pay for the increasingly expensive development plans.
The entire energy transition to renewables is cracking and never was sustainable. And queue more spending from the White House to prop up the failing industry.
