Good article and I'm glad to see Dr Mason cited in it and referring to icosapent ethyl.
These statements are always misleading as they leave out important details
"People who follow these plant-focused diets have lower rates of heart disease than omnivores, who include animal-sourced foods in their diets."........ the only reason this has some truth to it is that people on plant based focused diets are far more involved in their health and well being. They tend to have a healthier lifestyle so it's not about the plants. They are doing it wrong with a plant based diet but at least they are consciously thinking about it.
I did see your flip phone Nukem.......look next to the portable 4 track player that still has the Herman's Hermits cartridge in it.
Lizzy, anyone can do it and be successful if you don't have a generic equivalent to your chemical. AMRN has generic equivalents to V so a simple name change may drive more scripts for V but a percentage of those will go the the Generics just as they do now.
Lizzy, unfortunately that won't work......... I emailed the suggestion to Elisabeth who was PR for AMRN at the time of the DU decision. She emailed me right back and said it's still icosapent ethyl (I'll never spell it correctly). The Dr would prescribe whatever the name is and the pharmacy/insurance would still search for a generic equivalent.
Well Nukem, my Rams took care of the SeaHags so now we turn to your Cardinals...... a team that we should beat but Boy Wonder McVay will find a way gift it to you. Stay tuned!
There will always be Nissens when there are agendas and big money involved in the medical industry. The impact can be devastating....... look back in history when Ancel Keys convinced the medical "thought leaders" (American Heart Association advisory committee)that saturated fats and animal meats were the cause of high cholesterol which caused heart disease.. He used flawed science and "cropped tables" as well. This became the basis of the so called healthy food pyramid which is a bunch of crap. Now so many people are convinced that vegetable oils (polyunsaturated fats) and carbohydrates are good for you and cholesterol is bad. Now look at the health of most Americans and other countries on western diets. Heart disease is still the number one killer in the world and look no deeper than the recommended food sources today.
Can we get above .80 today? If only I had one of those classic magic 8 balls to predict it for me!
Hi Marjac........ glad to see that you are still checking in once in awhile. I hope all is well with you and yours.
Well Capt'n ..... that's a damn thorough appeal letter...... if that doesn't get approved, nothing will. Would also be a great source of evidence for intentional infringement if they deny you.......... C'mon Marjac...we'll be lighting up the Bat signal if that happens.
Keep up the good work Nukem........ you'll help the Rams get a higher draft pick.
Let's not forget that the media is full of lemming idiots....... but we should be taking advantage of it just like BP does....I don't know why our "Ministry of Lack of Public Relations" doesn't bombard these media outlets with Reduce-It data.
1:20....... no wonder I was puking with my mouth closed that day
Congrats on the weight loss Zip...... The human body is amazing if we take care of it.....I'm actually trying the Carnivore diet which eliminates plants and of course any processed foods from my diet. I don't need to lose weight (6 ft 3 and 181lbs) but I'm sure I'll drop a few pounds by losing the love handles and some belly fat. My brother has lost 22 lbs in two months(most of his belly) and my sister is down 3 pant sizes. You need a healthy liver to start with but this diet replaces carbs as the energy source with fat as the energy source. I'm keeping a daily journal on what I eat and how I feel. I also want to see if it reduces joint pain and overall mental clarity and energy. We shall see. I've been taking around 2 gms a day of Ultra EPA as well for the past 3 years and of course I'll keep doing that as well.
Good info to know sts......... I think my only experience with a RS is with the bio Novavax....... I figured that their RS of 1:10 down to .40c was the kiss of death so I got out..... and then Covid hit and the F'n thing took off to near $200 in short order. A-hole management must have seen this coming. Who knows but I certainly hope we don't RS. NVAX wasn't making any money when they RS'd in fact they were losing plenty. I don't think they had any approved drugs at the time.
Hey Nukem, too bad about your DBacks but they sure showed some mettle this year. I was ok with either team winning instead of the usual suspects.
Hi STS....... yes, you've been around awhile....... that sucks about Cigna....cheap bastards.... I disagree though that we are headed for a reverse split.......even if it happened, it's not the end of the world.... an example stock that is still delisted from the Nasdaq is Luckin Coffee. I followed it since in 2020 they got hammered due to accounting irregularities..... usually a death blow to a company...... It got hammered that day so after looking at it a bit, I could see that they were committing to get their shite together but were delisted. I bought 5k shares near $1.50 and sold on the way up for about a $35K gain. I don't have a ton of faith in how Chinese companies are required to report so I got out...it's still OTC but has been steadily rising into the $30's now.
So I have no doubt we'll reach compliance and I just don't feel it will be through an RS. There is a lot of additional runway prior to a delisting. So even if we end up being delisted, it doesn't mean the share price can't climb to decent number.
Well Sleven, you are a good researcher of V and all things associated with it, so there's that.
I'm also a bit of a late adopter of technology.......... I haven't even bothered to look at AI tools such as ChatGP......... I love the smart phone but if I really want to dig into something, I'll use my laptop. I just have to use something with a bigger screen. Besides, certain web pages are different on a PC than they are on a phone........oh well, that's just me.
There's the Grisly Bear, Black Bear, Polar Bear, Brown Bear, and the newest species......the closet Bear
Good one BobW......... clearly I'm exhibiting cognitive decline by still holding but I'm also not on a V prescription so I'm in the placebo group
Can you hook me up with Wonder Woman and Capt'n Marvel for the weekend?
Who knew Captn America was over on StockTwits! I wonder if our own Captn Beer goes to Superhero parties with him!
Crazy...... they must be making pocket change on their scripts
Thanks Captn..... always appreciate your work. As a side note, you have to wonder why there are 5 generics at this point competing with AMRN for the IPE market..... they clearly see that AMRN is not doing anything in the US to grow the market. You were pretty accurate with your revenue estimate for Q3 AMRN...... I'm curious as to what the generics are gaining by competing as things stand now. According to AMRN, producing V is not a simple process so if we assume buying API is a similar cost for all and producing small quantities of IPE would be more expensive than AMRN quantities, why stay in the game.
This leads me to believe they also see much more promise with this drug. Unless the goal was to drive AMRN into the ground which I don't think to be the case. What am I missing...... Especially TEVA.... they opted to come into the game much later than the others. What am I missing? I will keep nibbling at this pie and adding to my position because something still doesn't add up.
I don't think we need a miracle.....a little stability in the world would help.......more health professionals coming on board after seeing the benefits of V in their patients....then they tell 2 friends and they tell 2 friends.......some progress with V in bew applications would accelerate all of this.....
Laurent, if I'm not mistaken, we already have patents on V for alzheimers applications
Doubtful...... if that were the case, I would expect a much larger jump in both price and volume.
Jasbg, you nailed it..... I was hoping for something greater than a strand of copper on a penny but hey, green is green
Did you master your own job after having it for three months?
kube, using your analogy, remember that Denner is more the team owner than a player so he won't be fired. He can only sell the team. if it does or does not perform.
Just the standard " we need to issue the RSU's for key employee retention crap". They didn't tie them to company performance. It was easy money for the board and management team.
I still have no problem with my decision to oust the former Chairman of the Board...... the plan wasn't to replace the entire board but they all quit. As far as KM goes, at least Holt's comp plan is more aligned with my expectations as a share holder and he's not just issuing RSU's like candy regardless of what the company performance is.
I predict that my prediction of $ 1.05 today will be wrong.
I don't blame climate change anymore........ now it's Covid, the supply chain disruption, and the Russian invasion of Ukraine
Agreed....... I'm hoping for an upside surprise..... we are soooooo overdue for good news.
$ 1.05

Interesting timing for an announcement like this.......then again, this is AMRN........ they'll announce something more interesting tomorrow.... I just feel it......better days ahead.
Well Nukem...... how about those DBacks!
Good for you Nukem......and good luck to those DBacks.
