Hard to say on the timing of the 10K, but I think most on this board are in agreement that this 10K isn't going to be any more revealing or PPS affecting than the PR's from earlier today.
The revenues should show an increase for this quarter over last's, but not substantially so since most of the new contracts will be showing up in this quarter's 10Q report when it comes out in Feb. of next year.
In the 10-K coming out, they will probably reiterate the PR's from today, and they may or may not show a profit. Hard to say on that as well.
If APDN does name names and amounts of contracts in the 10-K, that will be way more surprising than a 10-K showing a marginal profit for the year instead of a loss.
I think so too.
Could be BrandWatch is taking their promotional cues from the politicians...bad mouth the opposition to get people to switch over instead of just relying on their own virtues.
I wonder if the PR's from APDN were released in response to this PR from one of their competitors, who are now saying that synthetic dna is better and cheaper to use than botanical dna? I don't believe they have ever done a comparison between the two types before, but I could be wrong as I so often am.
http://beforeitsnews.com/business/2012/11/brandwatch-technologies-announces-dna-solution-used-in-pharmaceutical-packaging-2470354.html
The BrandWatch synthetic DNA is true deoxyribonucleic acid, and when compared to botanical DNA, synthetic DNA has several advantages in antic-counterfeit and diversion applications. By using short as opposed to long strands, the covert DNA signatures can encode significantly more target information that can be retrieved in a standard lab test. This allows for validation of many specific aspects of the process (e.g., manufacture date, lot number, production site, contract number, etc.).
The DNA system used by BrandWatch can efficiently make thousands of highly differentiable DNA taggants and can identify individual DNA codes in a pooled sample of different DNA taggants. This can be done at a fraction of the cost of longer botanical DNA, and allow for the periodic introduction of new DNA strands to keep ahead of the counterfeiters.
I don't know if their claims are justified or not, but regardless, it is an obvious attempt to make their product look superior to APDN's. If I were an APDN top dog and saw that article with the one pharmaceutical company adopting their technology, I would respond with an in your face press release or two of my own that might say we have signed more than one (i.e., multiple) contracts, and have even got 3rd party folks signed up to get our product to market faster than anyone else.
So nyah, nyah, to you Brandwatch. :-P
AG, the news is old, but that doesn't mean Rhodia and Solvay Group aren't using APDN's products in some way even now as we exchange speculations....
APDN has layered itself, so we'll never truly know how much money they are really making, but hopefully we get to see a glimpse of at least some of it.
I just saw a new posting on the APDN events and Tradeshows area of their website that wasn't there yesterday.
http://www.adnas.com/newsroom/events_and_tradeshows
The new one is:
http://www.wbresearch.com/defenselogisticsusa/
I can't find APDN mentioned anywhere, but I'm sure they wouldn't post it on their website if they weren't going to have a presence of some kind. (Either speaker or exhibit)
Our buddy Vice Admiral Mark D. Harnitchek, Director, Defense Logistics Agency is a key speaker. (The four major DLA initiatives guy...)
It would be worth a look at the site to see who else is going to be there, and who the sponsors are, etc.
Looks like its going to be quite the party.
Please, please, please...anyone, everyone, do NOT try to tell me that APDN isn't bigger than we think already.
"Rhodia, member of the Solvay group, is a specialty chemical company resolutely committed to sustainable development. As a leader in its businesses, the Group aims to improve its customers’ performance through the pursuit of operational excellence and its ability to innovate. Structured around 11 Global Business Units, Rhodia is the partner of major players in the automotive, electronics, flavors and fragrances, health, personal and home care markets, consumer goods and industrial markets. Rhodia employs around 14 000 people worldwide and generated sales of €6.17 billion in 2011"
"SOLVAY is an international chemical Group committed to sustainable development with a clear focus on innovation and operational excellence. Its recent acquisition of specialty chemicals company Rhodia created a much larger player, which is realizing over 90% of its sales in markets where it is among the top 3 global leaders. Solvay offers a broad range of products that contribute to improving the quality of life and its customers' performance in markets such as consumer goods, construction, automotive, energy, water and environment, and electronics. The Group is headquartered in Brussels, employs about 30,000 people in 55 countries and generated EUR12.6 billion in sales (pro forma) in 2011."
I say again...please...do not try to tell me that APDN isn't bigger than we think already.
I sincerely hope all of you have a place to sit while watching the APDN stock price at the end of this year.
LOL...great song Deep Space.
I'm going to listen to it before every trade now too!
That last one looked like a presentation done for the textile industry based on the file name.
Here's another one that looks like it was a presentation done for the military by Dr. Hayward in 2009.

Do not try to tell me that APDN isn't bigger than we think already.
This looks to be from 2010 before they had the iPhone app, but it has lots of good information on here for those who are new to APDN.

Thanks LAL (and Apdn believer)
The potential for APDN is indeed huge (gargantuan) and I think that in December we'll start getting news showing that that potential is not only beginning to be realized, but is exponentially becoming reality.
btw - Happy belated birthday LAL. I'm old enough now that I don't celebrate birthdays anymore, otherwise I would have said something earlier.
MRTD Symposium - ICAO
8th Symposium and Exhibition on ICAO MRTD's Biometrics and Security Standards 10-12 October 2012
Here's another recent one where Holliston was there and mentions APDN, as well as something about them that sounds big, big, BIG. As in worldwide big.

Deadly fake medicine trade needs global treaty
http://www.cbc.ca/news/health/story/2012/11/14/fake-medicine-treaty.html?cmp=rss
"The researchers from the World Federation of Public Health Associations, International Pharmaceutical Federation and the International Council of Nurses endorsed a five-point global treaty:
Define illegitimate medicines in legal terms to avoid confusion.
Define new public health crimes in international law, such as to manufacture, traffic or sell falsified medicines.
Mandate intergovernmental cooperation on transborder crimes.
Create an international forum to protect the legitimate trade of medicine such as setting global standards for authenticating medicines with tracking and tracing technology.
Offer financial and technical assistance to strengthen regulatory authority in poorer countries."
The 7th Annual Brand Protection and Anti-Counterfeiting summit
Here's another meeting going on in Amsterdam this month.
http://www.brandprotectionevent.com/Event.aspx?id=810498
I don't see APDN associated with them, but not surprising as they have enough to keep them busy elsewhere right now.
Just posting to let APDN know something they already know...
The world is their oyster.
Anti-Counterfeiting
Solutions and Technologies
1st Joint Symposium
Nov. 19, 2012
13:00~17:45
Tokyo, Japan
http://www.wibu.com/fileadmin/wibu/documents/ext_doc/Flyer_Symposium_AC_Tokyo_2012-11-19_final.pdf
This is the 1st symposium, which means the search for a cure to the world's counterfeiting problem is escalating across the globe!
"the damage is getting more and cannot be stopped."
Sounds like its time for APDN to come to their rescue!
Just thought this was a good article on botanical dna worth sharing.
It may have one of those annoying 12 second ads when you first bring up the link, but bypass that for the article.
http://www.naturalproductsinsider.com/articles/2011/01/dna-a-new-frontier-in-botanical-identity-testing.aspx
It's all good. The more people in at .20 or above the better for those of us in below that.
Thank you.
good morning johnsyn...
I guess that was kind of a bad link, but I thought it was a tweet site from Awesome Penny Stocks where it shows APDN as a pick for the 13th and the 14th. (as well as BRND)
Didn't realize it was actually a site for BRND. I will delete it if you think I should.
Sorry...I'm not either so I can't read the full article as well, but I posted it because it is the 2nd promotion I've seen today.
LOL...OK...if you say so.
No. But you could work for one company that had 40 customers, one of which was APDN.
But since you said no, I'm going to take you at your word and leave you out of the conspiracy equation. (For now...) lol
good find johnsyn! That continues to support my in the works APDN conspriracy theory. lol
Quick question...straight up...do you work for APDN or any of its subsidiaries in any way?
Yep...they have. But eventually they'll be right.
I think this line from the discussion says it all.
"These criminals have no regard for health, safety or human life and will stop at nothing to make a quick buck at someone else’s expense."
Good morning johnsyn,
The link worked for me, but I'll post it again. There is an annoying ad at the beginning, so maybe that's why it looked like it didn't work. (?)
http://www.forbes.com/profile/kurt-jensen/
Kurt Jensen used to work for the home building company. He is now the CFO/Chief Accounting Officer/Controller, for Applied DNA Sciences, Inc. In theory, numbers are numbers, and an accountant is an accountant, so the switch from home business accounting to botanical dna accounting doesn't really imply anything to me one way or another.
FYI BTW - I'm posting stuff about the players involved just to try and get a better picture of APDN and the gang they have working for them, as well as the ones they are in bed with so to speak, so that's why the post about ol' Kurt. (and no pun intended by using gang - yet. lol)
Just to throw out a little conspiracy theorizing this morning, I have a feeling that we are involved with something much bigger than any of us realize. I would equate "us" (stock holders who own shares of APDN without knowing any inside information) as a group of flies who have inadvertently landed either inside a rocket ship going to the moon, or on the launch pad underneath the rocket's boosters. When this thing takes off, we are either going to get a free trip to the moon, or get burned into ashes. lol
Kurt Jensen worked for Point of Woods Homes for 23 years after getting his MBA from Copenhagen Business School.
Pretty prestigious overseas schooling...
http://www.cbs.dk/en/About-CBS-Campus
...to end up at a company with only 10-20 employees having annual sales of less than a million dollars.
http://start.cortera.com/company/research/k7j7jsm8s/point-of-woods-homes-inc/
There isn't much info to be found on Point of Woods Homes, but I work for a small company with only 6 employees and we bring in close to 2 million in revenue each year. At 500,000 to a million in sales, how many homes do they have to build and sell to reach that? 2? 5? 10? And that's sales, not profits, so deduct costs of materials, labor, overhead for an office for Kurt Jensen and crew, and what does that leave? I don't know, but I would say not much. Definitely not enough to support 10-20 employees. I can't imagine Kurt was making even close to a hundred grand there based on the accessible numbers.
And maybe I'm wrong about even hinting at what I'm hinting at, but Kurt going from a small company that he's worked at for 23 years that seems to have stayed mostly under the internet radar for all that time to APDN making almost $200,000.00 a year, with a whole bunch of stock options, just doesn't compute in my scrambled up brain.
I shall continue my conspiracy theory with the next APDN player I post about later today (hopefully).
But...he did graduate from the Copenhagen Business School, so perhaps his salary is warranted.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copenhagen_Business_School
Especially since he worked for the same company for 23 years that only had 10-20 employees with sales of $500,000.00 to $999,999.00.
If he was making that much there, then his salary alone would have eaten up a good chunk of the revenue.
http://start.cortera.com/company/research/k7j7jsm8s/point-of-woods-homes-inc/
Kurt makes pretty good money for a company not showing a profit yet.

Another name that is connected to Rory King is Kristal Snider. I've seen her name quite a bit too.
She was at the DMSMS conference that Christine Metz(DLA), Kevin Sink (TTI,Inc.), and Dr. James Hayward were at.
http://counterfeitparts.wordpress.com/2012/10/30/dmsms-standardization-conference-2012-agenda/
This looks to be her blog and an article about her blog entries...
http://kristalsnider.wordpress.com/
http://en.wordpress.com/tag/u-s-defense-authorization-act-of-fy-2012/
And here are some interesting links for her where it looks like a few people have accused her of being involved with counterfeit parts several years ago.
Slander, or truth????? Maybe it's the ol' "If you can't beat em', join em."

In the Fox News story, Rory King, director at IHS iSuppli is mentioned.
He is all over the counterfeit news scenes...here's a few links. Some of the comments are old ones we've seen before, but they are showing up in fairly recent articles. (Word is spreading...)
http://www.securingindustry.com/electronics-and-industrial/counterfeit-electronics-growing-at-record-levels-says-his/s105/a1425/
I like this one from Oct. 25th. Not only a market for marking the chips, but also marking the metal they have in them. The SEC rule won't go into affect for awhile, but once again, just another potential market for APDN that could be gargantuan.
http://www.eetimes.com/electronics-news/4399425/Electronics-supply-chain-unprepared-for-conflict-minerals-law
According to IHS, the SEC rule directly applies to an estimated 5,994 companies that file reports to the SEC and to hundreds of thousands of their suppliers.

APDN posted the Fox News story from last week on their website on Saturday.
http://www.adnas.com/newsroom/apdn_in_the_news
Their last blog entry was done on a Sunday.
I would give the opinion that that implies the APDN folks are working their butts off and putting in some overtime with all the activity going on right now.
Wishful...
I've been out of touch for a few days, so my apologies for the untimely response, but my condolences to you and your family for the loss of your father.
So are you saying I should forward it to APDN for Sh!ts AND giggles?
Somehow APDN needs to get in on this action!
http://www.pegasusnews.com/news/2012/nov/09/doggy-dna-testers-poo-prints-dallas-city-council/
As with everything concerning the future...only time will tell.
But if this stock isn't way over a dollar by Dec. 14th, then my conspiracy theories have all been for naught.
Have fun!
APDN was lobbying Congress back in 2003. Sure has taken awhile for that to pay off. (Or has it? - More theories on that later...)
http://www.thefreelibrary.com/Applied+DNA+Sciences,+Inc.+Engages+Washington,+DC+Firm,+Bartlett+%26...-a0111267705
http://influenceexplorer.com/individual/amy-d-smith/98cb91d6ea204e45a9870778f97a4f24?cycle=2004
Once again, APDN is mentioned along with some very major players...seems like a strange group to be in for such a small, no revenue penny stock.
Countrywide Financial; Coalition for Fair and Affordable Lending (CFAL); Equifax; Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta; Freddie Mac; Intel; MetLife; Morgan Stanley; Motion Picture Association of America; Star Systems; Universal; and Washington Mutual; among others.
If you follow some of the threads from the Amy Smith link, even George W. Bush was given $2,000 for his campaign fund. lol
Here's one not so positive article that mentions a bunch of APDN's playmates (although I don't think it will affect anything APDN has going right now.), and another one I think is positive as it hints that we could see some end of the year drama, with APDN and the stock market in general.

Levin calls SASC hearing 11/15 to confirm Dunford, Allen -- assuming he's still chairman.... This was Panetta's agenda:
http://defense.aol.com/2012/10/25/panetta-sets-tough-agenda-for-lamest-duck-congress/
"His first assignment: "must act to advert sequester" before the threatened $500 billion in cuts to defense funding. The cuts, required by the Budget Control Act, would take effect on Jan. 2, 2013. With only 70 days before that deadline, Panetta said -- it actually is down to 68 days -- "Congress is certainly on the clock.""
This is from April, but I don't remember seeing it before.
US News, and it's a pretty good article.
