I sure hope NTEK is able to get it done on the cheap using the nVidia Tegra 4. That is the key.

Right now you could just throw a video card in your existing desktop and stream netflix or whatever. That is what I figured I would do in my new house this february......The bummer is the HDMI 1.4. I wish the standard would complete to 2.0 and NTEK include that in the NP-1. The Haswell chipset limited to 24 Hz regardless in the NP-H1. I haven't seen the published limitations on the tegra 4.

Looking forward to seeing this unfold. Few weeks to CES.....Foley just posted the "fitting" of the heatsink on the MB. I hope they get er done.

Be great to get rid of Direct TV BUT you guys know that they will be ready for 4K. They will have a receiver box to do it in no time.

ViXs is a chip used in some of the Dish and Direct tv boxes. They are shipping the chips to accomidate 4K.

Just as soon as all this is released....heck the HDMI 2.0 protocol will be out. 1.4a is limited on Hz (3840×2160 (4K Ultra HD) at 24 Hz/25 Hz/30 Hz or 4096×2160 at 24 Hz).

The Haswell chipset in the NP-H1 is limited to 24Hz.

....the 2.0 will go up to 60Hz.

These things get dated so fast......the limitations of the tegra 4 and whether it can capitalize on the new specs....I don't know...

I wouldn't say a rush, but I do think it is important to have that product in the consumers hands first.

Reason being, if Apple, RoKu or even Samsung put one out first......all kinds of spotlight that will be hard to redirect toward NTEK.

Samsung now has a device where you can stream your mobile HD through a box. Whos to say they won't jump into 4K this way....so you can keep buying their Galaxies to use for streaming.

It is a tough market to break into with big dawgs. NTEK needs to get the one up on the orther with timing ... IMO

I haven't seen one web post about anything on the horizon from them.....Apple is a mystery too....no solid info on a 4K stream device.

Also at CES is these Dudes that will show 4K content streamed from mobile devices to a 4K TV.

Hopefully, NTEK can show better performance with their NP-1 eventhough these mobile devices may have the nVidia Tegra 4 built in. I wouldn't be surprised if NTEK's final product is different that the "pre-release specs". Again pricing of the final product is key here ....and the price/performance ratio.

The key is for NTEK to hit a $299 price performance at 4K. The Nvidia Tegra 4 has lower power consumption and can be sold cheaper.

The A1 chipset that was ditched is cheaper......and NTEK ditched this route. The rockchip is cheap too....and may not even hit 4K

The Haswell by intel is readily available but is gonna have a bigger price tag....such as the NP-H1.

Well I stand corrected. That is the first non hand held device that uses the NVIDIA Tegra 4 chip that I have seen. So yes there is a motherboard in there with the Nvidia chip. That solution I guess is already available.

That version is the NVidia Tegra 4 chipset with Jellybean software. I have not seen anyone put together a non mobile device or non handheld device with this chipset. NTEK is offering something that hasn't been done with this....maybe that is why there is a delay.

The NP-H1 uses Intel Haswell and i5. This is available now and cost base $699.

It is the NP-1 that utilizes the NVidia. Not yet available. This is pre order for $299

I would say the item that will set NTEK apart is only the $299 Nuvola. This hasn't been done with the Tegra 4 chipset on a non- handheld device or mobile device. That would be a trick if they can pull that off at that price.


Their commercial version is just a PC with Haswell chipset. Easily available. Add an operating system and it is ready to go. You can buy a computer just like it and do it your self. I don't see the bargain there.

The 4K stream boxes with android software are available already. You can buy the version that NTEK ditched when they switched to the Tegra 4 route. These are cheap. I'm certainly NOT saying they are better.

These are basically small computers. I've built these kinda things before. The challenge is to build them, sell them, and make money.

I'm not able to find any motherboard configuration that has an embedded Tegra 4. There is no "seperate" card you can buy as an add on card.

Most of the Tegra 4 setups I see are mobile-like devices.

If Nanotech was using an off the shelf motherboard, I don't know how they get the tegra 4 on there.

Intel has the new Haswell setups that are their equavalent "gaming in HD".

Was there a picture posted on here somewhere of the board of the Nuvola and the embedded Tegra 4. I'd like to see it if so.

What I can see of the Nuvola and the specs that make it unique is the non-mobile application use of the tegra 4 on a standard PC platform. They would have to get jellybean to work with it. That would make the product unique and I'm not sure who else is doing that.

There are some true words there. Agree.

It is easy to poke holes in pennystocks. It is hard to do it with this one. Yea, I could come up with a lot of negatives.... but a lot of strong positives in there that seems to wash it clean.

If NTEK is a scam, it is one of the best I've seen. If David were to put all this together, just to dump his millions of shares in the end as a non-director, he could be the best scam artist alive.

He sounds very genuine and I just can't swallow that as possible.

This company has more than one poker in the fire, but I don't like how it has the backbone of the Nuvola shipment as its strongest point. Yea, sure, the 4K studios sounds great, but not as "sellable" like the Nuvola (IMO).

The working of the Metallica Ad was the best PR so far and solid work to get that deal. The "uplisting" PR has burned pennystocks in the past. Not a great PR until it matures. If it does here....this ticker will go nuts.
