STNT Stevia leaves contain many types of natural sugars, but the sweetest one is called Rebaudioside A—or simply Reb A for short. The Reb A is extracted from the stevia leaves in a process similar to making tea—the leaves are harvested, dried and then steeped in fresh water. High quality Reb A stevia extract is up to 400 times sweeter than ordinary sugar.
STNT The stevia plant is native to South America and renowned for its sweetness. The Guarani tribes of Paraguay and Brazil call it Ka he’e, meaning sweet leaf, and have been using stevia as a natural sweetener for over 1,500 years. Typically it was used to sweeten teas and medicines, or simply enjoyed as a treat. Stevia leaves are 30-45 times sweeter than ordinary sugar.
STNT ABOUT Stevia
Stevia is a natural delicious zero calorie sweetener derived from the stevia plant. It does not cause tooth decay, is Kosher and Halal, and since it’s not sugar—stevia is even safe for diabetics. It is not genetically modified and is pH and temperature stable, making it an ideal ingredient in just about every type of recipe. No wonder stevia has been called the ‘Holy Grail’ of ingredients.

ILVC Some examples of Intelligent Lighting:
With the touch of a single button on the touch pad, your TV or plasma display and all home theater equipment is turned on, set to appropriate settings, and the lights are dimmed to a low level perfect for watching a movie.
You come home and as soon as you open the main door, the hallway light comes on at partial dim, and since you usually go to the kitchen first to drop the groceries, the kitchen light comes on as well. Your favorite music starts to permeate through the lower level on if it is before, say 10 pm.
The motion sensor in the hallway senses your presence and turns the lights on for the hallway and the stairs. The sensor upstairs picks up and turns the lights on for the master bedroom. After a specified period of time, and if there is no more motion downstairs, the hallway lights go off by themselves. Essentially, you can move through your home without touching a single switch.
It is time to go to bed…single touch on a pad turns all the lights off. No more going downstairs to turn the kitchen light off because you forgot to do so.
The alarm goes off in the middle of the night because the smoke detector has triggered the alarm…all lights turn on automatically.
The list goes on…
ILVC REMORE ACCESS & CONTROL
Almost all of the automation projects we have been involved in incorporate some level of remote accessibility and control capability. Most of the systems are web based and provide home owners and other users the ability to access information on the current state of the system, whether it is a light left on or the temperature setting of HVAC system.
Some systems can even be controlled by a regular phone. For example, you can call your home, enter your private PIN code and turn off the alarm system and open the garage door so the courier can drop the package you have been waiting for in the garage while verifying the process over a video camera on your computer.
Or, you can change the thermostat remotely few hours before you arrive home so that when you get home, it is perfectly warm or cool depending on the time of the year.
Remote access also allows you to control your audio / video equipment so that you can turn it on or off remotely for that “lived in” look and feel when you are away, or help your spouse or children start the movie rather then walking them through the steps.

ILVC INTELLIGENT LIGHTING
The key components in intelligent lighting are the smart switches that replace the ordinary switches and the main controller that communicates and controls these switches. Through the controller, you can turn lights on, off or set to specific dim levels depending on other events such as time of the day, opening of a door, or starting the DVD to watch a movie.
The switches can also function as a regular switch that you can manually control. Every system that we design has appropriate redundancies, such as manual control, built in to them so that they function either as a manual device or on a completely automated fashion
ILVC We recognize that each of our clients have different needs and requirements for their home automation needs and we custom design each project with varying degrees of automation to fit these needs and requirements.
ILVC The premise of a smart home is relatively simple and involves two major components:
Take all the independent systems we normally have in our homes such as security alarm system, lighting switches, audio / video equipment (TVs, home theaters, CD/DVD players, etc.), video cameras, sprinkler systems, etc. and make them communicate with each other and control them through integrated and easy to use touch panels.
Make all these capabilities available to us remotely so that we can survey our home and control our systems remotely from anywhere around the world using either a phone or through the Internet.
ILVC With an extensive information technology background, Intelligent Living Corp. is perfectly positioned to leverage our technology knowledge and blend it with our substantial investment in new and emerging home automation product and systems. We offer our clients solutions that far exceed expectations at significantly reduced costs in comparison to traditional systems that are based on closed and proprietary architectures.
ILVC The other factor that affected the home automation sector is the emergence of IP (Internet Protocol) and IT (Information Technology – ie Personal Computers) as well as personal tablets by Apple (iPad) and Android systems.
ILVC However, over the past few years, new technologies emerged with open architectures that partly relied on wireless technologies. Now, there are number of manufacturers that produce products that are compliant with well established architectures and communication protocols. The end result is not only more choices for the home owner but also substantially reduced costs driven by competition and non-proprietary open-market products.
ILVC The concept of home automation has been around for some time but was generally limited to very high end homes. The costs were prohibitive primarily due to the requirement that most systems were either proprietary and/or required extensive wiring.
ILVC Intelligent Living Corp. offers the latest technologies in home automation and integrated audio, video and entertainment.

ILVC The Need
A recent federal evaluation of First Nations housing concluded that the housing shortage on reserves is severe and only getting worse. According to the February 2011 report, 20,000 to 35,000 new units would need to be built to meet current demand (the Assembly of First Nations puts the figure closer to 85,000). Source: CBC News
ILVC Poor building envelope integrity leads to water seepage and serious chronic health issues associated with the growth of mold in wall and ceiling cavities. This serious health issue was termed a national crisis in a recently released study by the
University of Victoria. The study found that almost half the homes on First Nations reserves in Canada are moldy and the high levels of mold toxins are making people sick.
ILVC Poor build quality leads to ongoing maintenance and health issues. A recent
surveyof 80 on reserve homes found that nearly every one needed repairs with an average cost of $20,000 per home. High repair cost is why less than 30 per cent of the homes on reserve that need repairs are getting them.
ILVC The issue of poor build quality is wide spread as noted by Kim Baird, chief of the Tsawwassen First Nation (located 25 km south of Vancouver) who said, “a lot of contractors that came here thought that because it was on reserve, they didn’t need to worry about quality as much.”
ILVC Current Practice
A recent assessment by Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada (AANDC), the federal department responsible for First Nations, found housing on reserves deteriorates much faster than off reserve because of poor construction and housing designs that often don’t account for the environmental realities on reserve.
ILVC First Nations On-Reserve Housing

Our pre-manufactured modular units ship complete and ready for assembly. We deliver quality purpose designed housing at a price that meets community needs and budget.

ILVC Security
We install security systems that go well beyond the traditional alarms by addition of cameras that can be viewed from smartphones and
computers, integration with lighting and audio systems, and with clever programming that enhances the “lived-in” look when you are away. In all of our installations, you never come home to a dark house as the lights turn on automatically as soon as you open the door.
ILVC Entertainment
Just imagine, you come home, turn the security off, and the system senses that and starts to play your favorite music. It is possible and affordable with the right integrated system. Or, you leave the house and set the alarm, the system then shuts down all the music to conserve energy or plays music in a random fashion when it set to vacation mode to give the impression of occupancy for added security.
ILVC Energy Management
Heating and cooling is the largest cost of our energy bill, followed by lighting. Smart thermostats that sense how we live and adjust automatically can correspond to significant savings. Dimming your lights to 50%, not only saves 40% of the energy used, but it also increases the life of the light bulbs by over 10 times and keep them out of the landfills. One of the key factors in conserving energy is having the daily cost of your energy consumption in front of your eyes which we achieve by monitoring and displaying the usage through smart meters and other energy monitoring systems.
ILVC Automation
Most people have some sort of security system, maybe a few dimmer switches, programmable thermostats, and an audio system in their
house. With advanced planning and the right combination of equipment, we can integrate all these pieces together so they work together. For example, the motion detectors can act as occupancy sensors to trigger lights to turn on or off for added security and energy conservation.
ILVC Testimonials
