What I don't understand is why MOBL didn't just dump a ton of shares at .10 and pay Cornell off completely. Now the dilution is 3x that much and the SP will continue to go lower as long as this is hanging over our heads. What is the point of just paying off a little bit at a time when you know it is just going to be more painful every week? Am I missing something?
I think it will work, but it will take some time for people to switch to wireless - most are happy with their cable or DSL. I still think selling wifi as part of a bundle with other services, or as an add-on to a current service for a few dollars a month, is the only way to really ramp up subscribers. Until there is some killer app that people can't live without, or until there is wireless coverage almost everywhere. My feeling is that all of these little muni wireless companies will be acquisition targets for the big telecoms at some point.
Part of me tends to agree with old Derbenski on this. However, it would make sense for the company to pump this POS at some point in order to get more $$ when they dump. So I'll wait for the pump. The other part of me thinks this is a real company with strong potential, but I just don't trust management, so I can't fall in love with it. GLTA.
If they have two new Redwood clients signed, why no PR? Not sure what they're up to here.
Something must be up. Possibly people rolling the dice on the Clearwire IPO and potential wifi buying, as cougar says. Could be something else more concrete for MOBL. I hope it's something good. Be nice to get the PPS back to double digits.
Yeah, Cornell helped build the company. But what did Jay build? A bunch of dying assets. Cornell is like a payday loan. You take it if you're in a crunch and know you can pay it back when money comes in. But you don't take it if you'll just have to get another one to pay it back. Cornell created this company and now it is killing it. And our CEO fiddles while Tempe burns.
Almost 3 weeks and not one piece of news. I would actually be happy to see a fluff "we had a meeting" PR at this point.
I think Clearwire is hemorrhaging money too but they have backers and, with the IPO, their own cash. There are lots of companies that still believe in muni-wireless. I guess their IPO will tell a lot about whether the market does.
Monkey - that's true since early '06 but I traded for some nice profits here in 2004-5. Here's hoping 2007 will be more like those years.
Down 25% on a $7.35 trade LOL
Pac - you are really just a basher here but I have similar doubts. Sure, I think people would like to use open air wireless or when they are in the car, but are they going to pay $30-50 a month for high speed at home and then another $30 a month to be able to roam, especially when they can go to Starbucks and get it for free? Now, maybe you can convince some businesses with a roving workforce to install CPE devices at headquarters and then use the service. But in terms of retail seems like they need to convince Cox or other companies to allow people to get MOBL's wifi as an add-on for maybe a few extra bucks a month.
Also, there is a scale problem here. I mean, are they really going to drop cable or DSL they already have and then spend $70 on a CPE device just so they can have connectivity in Tempe? Now maybe if it was region-wide it would be more compelling.
Having said all that, there are a lot of companies who seem to think this is going to be profitable. So maybe they know more than the pac-man.
Pretty sad when there's so little to discuss about SIVC that the only posts the last two days are about a Canadian biotech company. That really says it all....
The conversion price IMO makes no difference, because those are caps, not firm rates. Right now, the conversion is at a discount to the average of the last five daily closes, or something like that. So we ain't nowhere near having to worry about those numbers. But yeah, assuming we do zoom past .275 - a HUGE assumption - you'd want to be able to pay with shares at that higher conversion price first, thus using fewer shares, and then paying with cash if the conversion price looks too low. Of course, if we hit .275 I won't care about dilution because I'll be cashed out!
Geez you guys are a bit touchy. Nobody said anything about SIVC or anyone else pulling out of anywhere. Only an idiot thinks there are no risks to doing business abroad, and only a fool thinks its too risky to even try. The article gives some good examples of the risks involved in doing business in China. Like I said, I hope the Bickels have a bit more savvy than some of these other people. They seem to have a good bit of experience in China so they probably know what they're doing. With all the trips they PR it seems like at least they are actively involved, not just trusting third parties to come through.
Guy - great article. Hopefully the Bickels have a little more savvy than some of those folks.
Wow, if we hold this area around .05 and establish a bottom, it will be the first time in almost a year that MOBL has created a higher low relative to previous moves. Could mean that - finally - we are going to get some upside momentum. If our dear leaders actually deliver any good news, this could finally make a decisive rebound. We'll see..
Show me the money.
This is totally ridiculous. I don't think doing an r/s and then staying utterly silent for weeks after is the way to attract new investors. WTF is going on with these imbeciles? Too busy traveling to to China to meet with someone to discuss the possibility of perhaps maybe someday beginning negotiations to start vetting a company for Redwood? LOL. pathetic.
I don't think we have to worry about either of those price caps being reached.
So they have 20 employees, not 5 and not 50-80.
Newbie here. Somebody tell me why I should or shouldn't buy this stock. The fact that they put out 10 PRs a month scares me.
lih - yeah you're right, I remember now. And I agree, not going to happen.
Shareholder approval has been given, but only for 1:9 as a maximum. That would give us about 50 cents. I don't think we'd make the Nazzy with that LOL.
BBB - exactly, seems strange we didn't get more volume and more SP movement. This wireless deal is not with some shady, recently formed group of Russkies, but one of the oldest and biggest industrial conglomerates in Mexico. If this had happened before the post-russia meltdown, we'd be zooming over $10 a share easy. So, we get 5 cents and then down the next day on low volume? Did I enter some kind of fold in the space-time continuum? LOL
I find it hard to believe we didn't get more of a boost from yesterday's PR. I mean, this is as legit as legit can be. If that didn't move us, I don't see what will. I guess it's the SEC overhang. How frickin long is their "inquiry" going to take. It's been nearly six months.
Look at the 10-Q. Progames is not on it, so I don't really know if they're making money - Jay says they are. Kite is definitely not. And by money I mean profits.
At least progames is making money. Kite is not. But I agree that it is a distraction. Definitely need the Davel sale and PG merger. I would prefer partnering with a deep pockets company for a 50% stake in Kite or something instead of spinning it out, but what do I know (except that Jay's ineptitude has cost me a boatload of money)?
Also, why no PR on the Longmont launching its pay service?
What's up with the Mexican JV? Sans II? We need some info ASAP.
r/s happened before/concurrent with move to AMEX so it is not an issue. Nilrem has a point, but as others have said, the stock price sucks and I'd still rather not be on the pinks...
Painted the tape at close - again.
My understanding is that Sino has to buy the products from Abaxis (or whoever), then deliver them to their Chinese customers, then collect the money for payment (which can take up to six months there). Thus, they have to spend the money up front before they start receiving income.
LOL Nibbler, same here...
Mgmt keeps saying they are spending in order to expand their Sino operations, and no doubt they are paying for these Redwood employees while they're doing whatever it is they're doing. Just because they spent more than they made last Q doesn't mean they're going BK.
Oilman - I'm with you more than the snowman.
As far as going bk - which is NOT going to happen - you have to admit it would help us to understand the future better if mgmt would at least provide some discussion either in the Q, a PR or conf call. They are AWOL and that is just not acceptable.
C'mon let's hear it longs! Go SIVC!
Possible 2:1 or 3:1 forward split coming
Sino will soon move a ton of Abaxis products
Several new Redwood clients
Move to OTCCBB
big news coming
