You're views are more than welcome by me, and I appreciate your reasoning attached with that opinion. Sub .008 you say? Wouldn't that be sweet for a new shareholder!
When good stock drops, I like to buy more of it.
As you know, an unexpected PR could trump your rationale. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.
No pun intended.
:)
I think this is the bottom.
I don't see SOLM going under the penney line.
The spread is too tight.
No bad news here.
New longs taking position.
Accumulation is taking place.
No total retracement, likely due to the above.
Opinions?
One has to laugh at this....
SOLM Bid: 0.0101 Ask: 0.011 Last: 0.01
That's about as tight as it gets!
Top of the morning to you Kate! And welcome aboard.... As Market Makers wittle away the spread for no reason under the sun.
LOL
We're on the same page up-down.
Volume before price!
I just wish that I'd been privy to that chart formation before I eventually picked up on the blood trail. It was worth more than a 25K share purchase.
Right Kitty?
LOL
Kitty, thanks for the link.
You're one tough Kitty!
Number known to be in litigation…………...…….……....................2939…….….......30%
b. Certificates – 3rd PARTY REQUESTER …………………………………………..3693
(1) All claims confirmed 1012 28%
(2) All claims canceled 486 13%
(3) Claim changes 2195 59%
The only thing alarming about this is the amount of "changes", but we don't really know if the USPTO changes were miniscule or significant, nor do we know what each of "those numbers" are, or how they affected litigation.
Here's your official statement change: "It's been my experience over the years as a trader, that patents are usually rock solid in the courtroom, and it's a dice roll for the defendant".
You're focus is across the board #'s Kitty, when infact it's actually a case by case issue. TOY has alot of work to do. Ofcourse they have "options", but that does not mean that those options will more-likely-than-not prove to be successful now does it?
As you raise the issue of potential re-examination (which was never a topic of contention).... I raise the issue that Toy has not yet filed a counter suit. Isn't that the usual course of aggressive action Kitty? Maybe you can tell us why they haven't done that yet.
Tact = The ability to deal with others without creating an offense. You might be a smart Kitty, but your tactfulness could sure use some polishing.
We could play the technicality game all day long if you have time for it. In a previous post you stated words to the effect that Technical Analysis on penney stocks didn't really matter much?? I beg to differ.... Infact, I'll wholeheartedly call you on that statement. Congrats on your previously posted low buy. (But I wonder where she sold at, being that she missed the Bollinger Band squeeze on the 8th). The breakout was predictable.
I can appreciate your intellect Kitty. For all I know.... You might be a MENSA member, but even then, you certianlty aren't without flaws, now are you?
Why don't you just copy & paste what you've uncovered?
For some reason I can't get that 2nd link up either.
Thanks Kitty.
Respectfully requested,
5X
Kitty,
You must be a lawyer.
:)
I actually worded my post very carefully (or so I thought). Perhaps I should have been more technical by saying that "patents are usually rock solid". I'm thinking that you would definately argue that though.
(Smiling on this end)
But then again, I haven't read your link yet, so I'll refrain from typing that!! You made the claim of falsehoods, and I was waiting on you to produce the right link. Right meaning a USPTO link.
Well wouldn't you know....
My version of windows cannot support that file. And no Kitty, I wouldn't just say that to win a debate. My question to you is: What number of those "reworked patents" are held by publicly traded companies? Can you riddle me that?? Additionally, what number of re-worked patents involved a counter suit???
We can get as technical as you want with it. The big burden of proof is on TOY. It's not in SOLM's interest to file a lawsuit unless they think they've got them dead to rights. Where's the countersuit at Kitty? Interesting variable aye??
My opinion is not biased towards SOLM because of pro-patent "attitude". It's biased towards SOLM because of strong demand for product, but I've also seen favorable outcome in the market with regard to patents being upheld. More often than not I might add.
Got a better link?
Interesting post.
After running some T/A, I came to the realization that the run on 28 January was actually quite predictable via on balance volume (OBV). I wish I could link you to the chart, but accumulation started quite heavily on 09 January, prior to SOLM's patent PR release date, and then continued from there.
This could prove very helpful in the future. I'm assuming it was friends and family? I like to tag trends like that, as history tends to repeat itself. More cause that coincidence I bet.
A thousand thank-you's fivestar.
I don't fully understand what the position entails, but I will be checking this thread numerous times a day to absorb the contributions of others.

For the record....
I am long on SOLM, so long as they implement a business plan that increases their sales, rather than just being a patent holding company. The time is ripe for this little company to market, advertise, and implement. What is a patent on intellectual property if you don't put it to work?
I would gladly be willing to moderate here, and Kitty.... I assure you that I would not cancel your posts because of a good debate. Investor's Hub has obviously grown to become a classy, informational brain trust. I say "yea", let's share information.
Kitty....
I stand to be corrected about Iran. It is the world's 4th largest oil producer. However, I didn't grab the # 2 statement out of the sky to have seeming authority though.... I've read exactly that in a few articles which were obviously incorrect.
http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0922041.html
Aside from that error, # 4 is high enough on the totem pole of oil producers to drasticly affect fuel prices in our country if they are attacked, or react to an attack with fervor via oil flow. In a nutshell, Iran considers Israel and America as one and the same. Their enemy, plain and simple, because we have always backed Israel.
With regard to your patent data....
You believe those blog percentages if you want to. I don't. Stated percentages = inaccuracies. I call you on that, and I never said that the defendant couldn't request the re-examination of a patent through the USPTO. You need to re-read my post again, or maybe I need to re-write it to communicate with your ego?
Additionally, I HIGHLY DOUBT the estimates of 3 out of 4 patents in reexamination get reworked. You say what you want to, but your blog link doesn't convince me of that claim one bit.
Yes, I did go to the website. Thanks for the reply.
Your anti-SOLM arguement is baseless.
We don't know exactly what SOLM has on TOY, and from your perspective, you certianly don't either, because the court doesn't. Likewise, you are fullfledged aloof if you think that you can predict what a defendant will do if discovery yields that a patent was infringed upon.
Nice try, but your lack of logic with that idea totally destroys your credibility. TOY will do what TOY will do. It's really that simple.
Bring on the evidence in discovery, and let the cards fall as they may. There's nothing else to really debate on the issue. Patents are rock solid, and to enter a courtroom with one gives a defendant a roll of the dice at best.
Ben,
I read your post, but before I could reply, it appears that somebody had it removed? I'm not surprised, as this is surely a touchy topic.
Regardless though, it's a real life issue, and "when the Blue Star moves on Persia" (not if, but when), it will launch the price of oil much faster than a simple smooth swing of the pendelum.
Many American families are just now getting adjusted to the drop in fuel prices after the 2007 - 2008 run up, so they literally won't be able to deal with it. However, the lull in gas prices should not be taken for granted, as Persia would react accordingly with their own production cuts. To them, the biggest consumer road leads straight to the USA. I wouldn't put it past them to even abandon OPEC on that note, of which the Arabian House has prominent influence.
For SOLM, this whole sequence of events could literally be collossal. I don't care what the float or outstanding share numbers are currently at. Strong demand for product like that, could easily bring the investing herd right to SOLM's doorstep. The consumer's price will definately be the key, as SOLM has got to keep it at a level where it's affordable for a middle class family to install the product in their vehicle vs buying a hybrid or EV from a dealership.
During hard times like these.... Many people are easily just a paycheck away from debt. SOLM must provide an opportunity for a significant savings with the purchase of their product, and they must make it readily available to the public.
I'm thinking: Pep Boys, Jiffy Lube, Meineke, AutoZone, etc... Heck, anybody but the dealerships!
Alot of penney traders are trying to get a better entry price right now, than the day before. But I really don't think that SOLM is a stock to penney pinch with. I'd hate to pay 25 cents, 50 cents, or a dollar while waiting for a .008 or .005 opportunity to return. My point being: SOLM is far too cheap right now to be getting greedy with. It could easily reverse it's tiny pull-back at the drop of a hat.
Gather ye rosebuds whilst ye may.
Sunday, February 1
JERUSALEM - Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel's leading candidate for prime minister, said Saturday that Iran "will not be armed with a nuclear weapon."
In an interview with Israel's Channel 2 TV, Netanyahu said if elected prime minister his first mission will be to thwart the Iranian nuclear threat. Netanyahu, the current opposition leader and head of the hardline Likud party, called Iran the greatest danger to Israel and to all humanity.
When asked if stopping Iran's nuclear ambitions included a military strike, he replied: "It includes everything that is necessary to make this statement come true."
Iran has denied it is seeking to acquire nuclear weapons and says it is pursuing nuclear power for peaceful uses. It also denies it is engaged in terrorism, instead accusing Israel of terrorist policies against the Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank, which were occupied by Israel after the 1967 Mideast War.
The Channel 2 TV broadcast interviewed all three candidates for prime minister ahead of the Feb. 10 election. The three did not debate each other and appeared one after the other to answer questions posted by Israelis in YouTube videos.
Tzipi Livni of Kadima and Ehud Barak of Labor were both asked about how they intended to deal with the continuing rocket threat from Hamas militants in Gaza. Both took a hard line.
"Hamas was hit like it was never hit before," Barak, the defense minister, said. "If they try us again, they will be hit again."
Israeli launched a massive three-week offensive against Gaza militants on Dec. 27 to stop eight years of near-daily militant rocket fire at southern Israeli towns. Nearly 1,300 Palestinians were killed in the fighting, about half of them civilians, according to the Palestinian Center for Human Rights. Thirteen Israelis were also killed, three of them civilians.
Livni, the foreign minister, said if Hamas "hasn't gotten the message yet" Israel would strike it again.
Regardless, she said Hamas could not be negotiated with and called on the people of Gaza to overthrow their regime.
"I do not intend to reach any agreements with Hamas. Agreements I make with people who accept my existence," she said. "They do not recognize Israel and do not renounce violence and terrorism. They will not be a party to an agreement and therefore the people of Gaza have to expel the Hamas from within them."
Thank-you Ben & Camron....
Might I add yet another ten cent opinion with the welcoming of your approval?
Specifically, that is: The sector which SOLM falls under.
Now, as you all are probably well aware of... OPEC has cut production with their claim based on lowered demand. This could actually play out in SOLM's favor (as with other green transportation stocks). I will explain the thrust of my theory in detail.
Demand for oil has not lowered.
It's "more-likely-than-not" a political ploy. Exxon's proffits just came in at record earnings the other day. How could that be if demand is down? Oil tycoon Boone Pickens claims that the world is currently at peak oil. Meaning: That demand for crude has met the world production supply, with no new oil deposits being pulled out of the ground. So why would OPEC really cut production? World population is constantly increasing, thus continuing to raise the demand for the precious commodity, right???
Wrong.
Oil is now used as a political weapon. Look who's economies are REALLY suffering worse than us right now. Russia (our arch enemy), China (with the world's largest population to keep happy), and Iran (the world's 2nd largest producer of oil). How does this apply to SOLM you ask?
Well my friends, the pendelum always swings to and fro. It is my opinion that OPEC's cut in production is nothing more than a parry (in fencing terms) at the United States by Islamic oil producing nations. Saudi Arabia (our arab ally) is ofcourse playing the middle ground in the joust.
Nevertheless, it goes without question that Israel will undoubtedly be forced to defend it's mere existence by striking Iran's nuclear facility(s). This action will hit our economy like a Mac Truck driving into a mailbox (especially under current conditions), and it's my very humble opinion that I would venture to say: Stocks like SOLM will flourish on such an occasion.
One must look no further than to read and listen to the rhetoric of Netanyahu and Livni to understand that this will infact take place if Iran does not completely stand down. And why should they? Russia is making Iran's reactors, helping them along the way with the entire process, and also selling the Iranians missle defense systems prior to a tactical strike.
Think the theory is too far fetched? It's not. Why do you think that Israel is moving towards an all EV transportation network? Google it and see! I challenge you.
What's happening is actually the same old song and dance. Big dogs are fighting eachother through the little dogs. Oil is the most valuable asset in the world to provide growth for large nations. And as it stands.... The U.S. currency is still king. However, when Israel strikes, the ones who are holding the right cards at the poker table will be the proffiteers.
Read "The Oil Card". It's probably the best book published since Y2K, and it's an essential read for serious energy traders.
Ladies and Gents,
Strong bet that SOLM vs TOY will be a repeat of TIVO vs DISH.
It took forever, and DISH played hardball, but the outcome was sweet milk & honey for TIVO. It's called: "Due Process"
Don't worry about TOY going around the patent to avoid the suit. DISH tried that approach with TIVO's equipment, and it didn't stop the heat-seeking lawsuit on DISH's azz one bit. In the end, DISH ended up paying bigtime. Go read about it if you don't believe me.
DISH even argued the legitimacy of TIVO's lawsuit by fighting TIVO through the USPTO. In the end, DISH spent mega-bucks.
DISH was looking for an out, but they couldn't find one, even with the best lawyers available representing them. The bottom line is: Patents are solid. They alleviate ten times more additional litigation that would otherwise take place. SOLM has TOY dead to rights in my opinion, or else SOLM wouldn't have launched the case. It's like having a tiger by the tail.... You don't wanna let go once you grab hold.
Thank GOD for the USPTO. It truely is one of the greatest entities of out government. Notice I said: "One of"
LOL
In any event....
If TOY is smart, they'll settle faster than DISH ever did (if the evidence mounts), or they'll simply buy little SOLM out at a very good price? Only the shadow knows what will unfold, but the whole thing kinda reminds me of how Ford and Diamler bought BLDP's product rights. There was no lawsuit, but they had to have it!
The reason I think that TOY had better act faster than DISH did, is because SOLM is a U.S. company with the right product, at the right time, with the right President, U.S. Congress & Senate. Dragging this case out can only bruise TOY's image in a very green market as the Obama administration moves forward with it's policy. That's just my ten cent opinion, but I'd hate to be sitting in TOY's catbird seat if the media-driven, PRO-GREEN American jury produces a guilty verdict.
TOY is and always be a Japanese company. Japanese fight fierce, but if they're wrong about something hands down.... They will usually save face.
With all of this taken into consideration.... A lucrative position seems like a pretty good idea to me. What SOLM needs to do now is to get the word out about their product. The media is ready and waiting to jettison the awareness of this little company's product(s) to the public. It's time for SOLM to advertise and implement.

Patents are bullet proof
A strong demand for product makes the patents even better. I believe that's the case here.
Fivestar & everyone... Nice to join you all.
Let's see what the SOLM can do.
Anybody here ever go to "JUST" (Jungle Unit Survival Training)? The Negritos used to train us. I've been all over that country. Spent most of my time during the 80's in the Zimbales, eating snake and drinking bark tea. Mabalacat sure was nice after hacking your way thru the boonies for weeks at a time.
I always stayed at the Clarkton Kangaroo and some other motel in Dau. You had to be careful with the LBFM's. If they caught you butterflying they'd get pretty hot under the collar. They might even cut your willie off while snoozing. Posessive little things, but they sure loved Marines.
Re: Manila...
Certian parts of town were rough back then. I would imagine it's the same today. If you don't carry a straight razor in your back pocket while walking those streets you're crazy. It saved my azz a couple of times. Those were the days.
Re: Worldstar...
It's just what the Flips need. Same with Thailand. Once this thing takes off we'll all be rich. What I want to know is... Who in the he11 are these characters named: Banning and Cusick ?! Anyone got any scoop on them? It's obvious they're ex-pats but the question is "why", and how did they end up with a job at CBN Worldstar/WTAI ...?
Longtime CARH/WTAI shareholder here.
John,
Thanks for turning me onto this thread. I like the format, and the speed here. Lycos really messed up RagingBull. And Yahoo... Well, it's not my favorite kind of coffee shop. So, I'll be joining in on the WTAI discussion here if the rest of you don't mind a little company.
