well.. asking intelligent questions and going on like a mad basher are 2 different things ;)
i do think, however, that people have the right to question information that ANY OF US will find if we do a google search of "WWCD Global Diamond" - it's not as though i was the one making any claims, merely questioning information posted into the public domain.
in a PM to me, RonnieD asked me to not talk about a certain subject as if i'd been the one actually talking about it.. which i wasn't - merely asking the source to cough up with the details because unless you can prove something, you shouldn't say it.
which goes for bashers, truthdetector :P like saying some screen-name is actually someone else - unless you can PROVE it, i question your information just as quickly.
bah, it's all good. i smell a rat ;)
wow - someone deleted my message.. it wasn't a bash, and was TOTALLY a question that should be asked... what's up with that?
sure, but that's different to the question i was asking ;)
something is certainly going on, and the IR guy said as much to me & that more information would be available in the upcoming weeks.
nice to see that CM2 has finally gotten their act together on the english version on their website!
already at higher volume than the last 10 days average
maybe so! although in my experience unless they spin it right it's unlikely. mind you, my experience has been with 3d & compositing software, so the market & the press attention were way smaller.
yeah, i'd heard this via a friend at apple - no doubt all the thunder will go to apple.. reeltime would be wise to consider another launch date (having worked through technology product launches before, one thing you don't want is to split the press's attention.. and let's face it, the Press Releases are for the Press)
i guess reeltime could gain something if they go the technology play that day.. streaming vs downloads... but if they try to go head to head with Jobs the pickup is likely to be pretty slim.
only the guy responsible for sending the release to the wire knows the answer to that one..
thanks steel for that level-headed reply :) i misundersood, i had read that embryonic reseach wasn't being held back overseas in the same vein it was in the US.
do you think they'll ever drop the religious vote in the name of science? i'm not convinced church and state can separate in the USA.. but am holding tight just in case ;)
because, from what i understand, the europeans are already using techniques years ahead of what ACTC is offering? don't forget, they are focused on sidestepping the US issues - the rest of the world never had to worry about that.
i wonder when WWCD will show up in their history list? even with RM's i've noticed they do keep a list of the previous names the company or ticker was known under.. must just be a process thang.
lol! interesting times for sure!
lol considering i'm in at .0031 it's already interesting ;)
between this and RLTR should be quite a month!
yup! i recognise that ;) kinda fun when you start to dig a little!
i imagine real volume will come when the company gives us some news! all those people out there who aren't reading these boards will need to find out somehow...
yes seems to be - which correlates with WWCD history i think? perhaps info is currently being updated.
either way, the IR guy assures me there'll be a press release in the next couple of weeks.
yes that is where i copied the number from to do the search. unfortunately no electronic trail of that amendment on the SOS site but i'm sure time will reveal all.
nothing on alexi nor elena turned up yet for me..
this is also interesting, from their list of actions/amendments:
NOT QUAL. IN NEVADA, INTO THIS CORP...
Action Type: Articles of Incorporation
Document Number: C5169-1987-001 # of Pages: 3
File Date: 07/08/1987 Effective Date:
(No Notes for this action)
perhaps the (as-yet-not-added?) notes will reveal more.
lol well i'm certainly not an authority on such things - but will hold my stakes and watch with interest ;)
indeed!
good times ;)
lol all i did was copy/paste the entity number and search under company number vs name because i was having trouble finding it under "cannery" as suggested - RM complete? no idea, just passing the info i could find.
The info I got under that previously posted entity number: following the links to the history I see no mention of WWCD but that's only with a few mins hunting.

would be nice if they had some quotes from some beta users in the PR - most of the industry pubs are going towards "case studies" and having a user tout the news for the company always holds more weight than the company blowing their own horn.
hopefully they cornered some press for the test & we'll see a write-up or two about it in Hollywood Reporter or Variety.
*hint hint* ;)
interesting read - notice how Movielink and CinemaNow were mentioned.. that inablility to burn DVDs before was something that had really kept their businesses from gaining more acceptance. hopefully RLTR will be entering the market with at least that covered (since this problem had been raised over the years from more than one survey of the market).
OT: started off as an editor (first on a sony 910 online suite then ended up running one of the first non-linear matrox systems in australia) and then once i was burnt out on 100 hour weeks in dark rooms with strangers... got into 3d animation & compositing in LA where i ended up working 120 hour weeks in dark rooms with not-so-strangers hehe
got your PM, thanks - can't respond in kind as i'm still a NOOB here, but i'll get to that point as soon as i make some real money based on any tip I get from this site ;)
VONGO is owned by Starz, so their content is assured via the existing STARZ agreements... which means plenty for them. But it's STARZ.. I mean, really - who cares?
GUBA did get a deal with WB but WB isn't a part of the multimegacorp that owns movielink (i might be wrong about that but i feel pretty certain - too many names to remember heh). During the deal they piped up about how they use microsoft's DRM (yawn) and i'm sure that helped them pass the "security" bar with WB legal. GUBA however is a usenet engine.
And they suffer from poor marketing - so even if they were better (which they're not) Reeltime already has a stronger brand.
I'm sure there's more content down the line and i'm positive both WB & SONY must be on Reeltime's list.
Even then, I think they'd only be 1/2way there - honestly I still feel we'd all make out MUCH better if they just sold the mechanism to Blockbuster (movielink ALMOST did that.. almost.. except the delivery technology sucks)
These things take time! For as long as i've been involved with post-production, people have been talking about media-servers that deliver content to your home (remember SGI going on about it back in the 80s?) on-demand.. but no-one has yet to do it in a way that is cost-effective enough for Mr & Mrs Trolleybasket.
But if ANYONE is poised to really turn the digital online delivery mechanism into a viable concern for the public, it's ReeltimeTV. Which is why I have my money invested in the first place.
www.porchlight.com - it's worth checking out!
they had some christmas dinosaur thing, and "Doodlez".. Jay Jay the Jat Plane - all were on Cartoon Network
... and Animalia is or was on Nickelodeon.. list goes on I guess..
the best thing for Reeltime is they can drop these big names now, and that holds weight at those hollywood parties where those deals come together ;)
ah yea i thought that's what you meant - and the competition is good, it's healthy.. and it's SLOWER THAN US ;)
so good on em.. let them deal with heinous bandwidth and then come seeking a better, sleeker, more intelligent rapid delivery system hehe
that'd be outstandin!
:)
which deals are you referring to?
well, all depends..
but would YOU pay for a service that didn't have simply a range of movies etc that you'd find at a good video store? that's really the question that it boils down to..
or does it?
i think they know this, hence the focus on TV shows from the past - i think it's worth a couple of bucks a month to watch quality programming without the damn commercials :)
and let's face it, not too long before we get CSI: Moscow Skin Disorder Team - talk about floggin' a dead horse!
if they can bring in more independants.. sundance, foreign films, GOOD movies vs the trash that hollywood pumps out.. then they have at least a niche they can carve! and there's enough people on earth that a niche can work hehe..
ReelKids? ReelGood! Am SUPER pumped to see "cartoon network"
mentioned in that porchlight deal.. and bodes well for them creating their own "online on-demand streaming TV network".
Hmm maybe there's something in that even.. license out the IRDS to current or upcoming cable stations so they can stream all their content via the web on a much cheaper, alternative subscription model.
BOOYAH!
lol well, putting "coming soon" on something doesn't automatically mean it'll be soon relative to what people on this site would like - soon could easily mean 2007.
i hope they mean "real soon" though when they say that ;)
PS when i said "their website" i meant the site of the IR firm, which is currently live.
built in conjunction with GridNetworks if i'm to understand correctly. if you actually look at how the files are parsed and shared, looks suspiciously like BitTorrent... no idea how that figures into things.
now that is ALL theory... but i have to say, this chicken sure does look, move, & smell just enough like a duck that it might be exactly that. then there's GNU or whatever it is to work around, but i'm sure they've got that part figured out heh.
this is true - regardless of "policy", they follow the $$$.. policies can be changed ;)
but damn, they really hate doing that.
don't the big boyz already own their own online-movie-rental place? (Movielink?.. universal, paramount, and others).. might exclude them with doing deals with any direct competitors.
i've worked with these guys (well, with Paramount, Universal, Fox) before, and they have legal departments that rival Disney for their stupidity.. no doubt something like that exists but of course i don't KNOW that for sure. i would bet my money on it, though.
i do suspect, however, that if the technology proves itself they might have a business in supplying Movielink, Cinemanow, etc with the backend technology - licensing deals! laugh all the way to the bank on those...
read the par above, the description of Reeltime in the iHub about-box for the stock.. it's about their Intelligent Rapid Delivery System... which might be their point all along.
Spoke with the IR guy...
he said they're going through a transition, couldn't talk about anything that wasn't currently in the public domain, but should be updates in a couple of weeks.
i will add that the IR guy isn't very good - just look at their website, a shockin' lack of information and the info that is there is too out of date to be useful.
but, at least we know, something is coming - he sounded mildly positive vs his perogative to run screaming for the hills (ie, they're obviously still paying their account).
hehe he sure did - i'm new to L2, sure has been fun watching it the past few days!
lol what happened to post 837? that was short lived!
