well, all depends..

but would YOU pay for a service that didn't have simply a range of movies etc that you'd find at a good video store? that's really the question that it boils down to..

or does it?

i think they know this, hence the focus on TV shows from the past - i think it's worth a couple of bucks a month to watch quality programming without the damn commercials :)

and let's face it, not too long before we get CSI: Moscow Skin Disorder Team - talk about floggin' a dead horse!

if they can bring in more independants.. sundance, foreign films, GOOD movies vs the trash that hollywood pumps out.. then they have at least a niche they can carve! and there's enough people on earth that a niche can work hehe..

ReelKids? ReelGood! Am SUPER pumped to see "cartoon network"
mentioned in that porchlight deal.. and bodes well for them creating their own "online on-demand streaming TV network".

Hmm maybe there's something in that even.. license out the IRDS to current or upcoming cable stations so they can stream all their content via the web on a much cheaper, alternative subscription model.
