orda: "Other names and brands may be claimed as the property of others" -- from TCG 2/11/04 presentation, asteric footnote on slide # 5 (further below) -- as part of TCG, if Wave's IP is: (1) used in any way; and/or, (2) referred to by any name by any other TCG member, then Wave is entitled to TCG authorized, RAND licensing fees. I surely hope Infineon-HP/ProtectTools uses Wave's IP, but it really doesn't matter if Wave is explicitly referenced in Infineon-HP's solution. So, to answer your question: whatever solution's employed, Wave's IP stands on it's own merit; if there's a better, more effective method for achieving what Wave's IP enables, then it's competition only to the extent that it's distinct IP that marginalized Wave's IP -- a better mouse-trap in essence. NOTE: what will be most interesting, is when there are actual #s released regarding TCG's RAND licensing framework, and there's a way to quantify the relative value of Wave's IP. good luck!
orda, YOU WRITE:
Doma: Do you think the following is competitive or might use Wave IP?
As part of Infineon’s broader portfolio of security capabilities they are in the final stages of developing a back-end security management solution that works with HP ProtectTools. It addresses TPM embedded security chip key management and provides highly manageable enterprise single sign-on capability when used with Credential Manager for HP ProtectTools.
