That nice dear, you’re a real charmer.
But remind me, in all your monotonous overlong bluster, where have you called for the release of the hostages?
For all your insults to the intelligence of everyone who dares to have a different opinion than yours, how did you not find your way to answering that.?
We’ve seen you in action against others who dare disagree with you, you’re a thin skinned boring old man
I didn’t post the article or a link because it’s behind a paywall obviously.
Does that somehow make the recommendation less valid in your eyes?
There’s no straw men, you constantly post articles that rationalize what Hamas had done. I’d like to see just one time where you’ve blamed another country besides Israel for something. You haven’t even taken China to task for their treatment of the Uyghurs.
In fact, you’ve still not called for the release of the hostages, have you?
Your cut and paste skills remain strong but not sure what the point is.
Didn’t America arm the Taliban and provide Saddam with munitions for his war against Iran at one point? And who can forget Iran Contra?
These kinds of screwups/ terrible decisions apparently happen frequently, although you seem not to notice when it involves not- Israel
https://www.cnn.com/interactive/2019/02/middleeast/yemen-lost-us-arms/
https://www.aljazeera.com/amp/news/2019/2/5/saudi-arabia-uae-gave-us-arms-to-al-qaeda-linked-groups-report
It’s almost like you’re looking for a way to blame Israel in part for the attacks by Hamas, first with the tunnel construction and now this. Was Boeing at fault because they built the planes that were flown into the WTC?
I recommend the op—ed piece in today’s NY Times explaining how a change in leadership is needed in both the PA and Israel. Trying to rationalize the attacks of 10/7, as you’ve been attempting , is sad.
Jesus, man, "blithely"? Life is too short, you're exhausting.
You do know that the Hamas Covenant is not an ancient text? And you're citing other shit in the context of a discussion about it, that was written in the Iron Age.
Yes, but then Hamas (and Iran) would have to abide by whatever deal was reached. You're more optimistic than I am, hope you're right.
Plus, I think the demand to go back to the 1967 borders is a nonstarter. Israel was attacked then and captured this land from its attackers. Where else in the world are countries expected to do something like that?
Ok, but that still means they want to destroy the country known as Israel. And what do they want to do with those pesky Zionists, do you think?
I'm for a two state solution, you're probably for a two state solution, Hamas is for a one state solution, they still don't recognize Israel's right to exist.
I'm sure that's all true, but, again, the Hamas Covenant:
https://www.theatlantic.com/international/archive/2023/10/hamas-covenant-israel-attack-war-genocide/675602/
I don't think anyone's going to accuse that of being a conservative rag.
From the Covenant:
"Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it." (Preamble)
I've previously posted articles of the covenant calling for the killing of Jews and reference to the Protocols. Hamas was also, supposedly making nice to Israel before the October attacks, the whole thing just seems FUBAR to me.
People posting here (not you) about how evil Israel is and how it's the entire problem, are looking for simple answers to a seriously complex problem, it's as if their brains aren't yet fully developed.
Who doesn't want a ceasefire, I'm as appalled as the next person by the damage and death being rained on Gaza. But why would Hamas stop firing rockets into Israel, though, what other goals do they have other than destroying Israel? Ever hear any of their leadership state that their goal is a two state solution?
I have no idea what end of the political spectrum this site is on, but I've heard him say the same thing on camera:
https://www.thewrap.com/bernie-sanders-permanent-hamas-ceasefire-impossible-israel-video/
The leaders of Hamas have stolen, literally, billions of dollars from Gazans intended as various types of aid, to enrich themselves, that is a fact. They have provided their fighters with food and bomb shelters (in the tunnels) during this war while leaving Gazans, at large, unprotected and without means. They fire missiles at Israel that misfire with however much frequency and fall onto Gaza.
The Hamas "fighters' hide behind women and children and work social media for sympathy for the destruction and death they have caused. They unilaterally broke the ceasefire on 10/7, then the truce a few weeks after that. How do you negotiate with them?
Whose reporting? You provide no links to any of your supposedly credible sources. Like I said, you’re willing to accept Hamas numbers but not those of the IDF. Which really ends the conversation.
A day trader huh? What I see in you is someone who won’t process any info that’s contrary to your pre-existing biases, an inflexible thinker. Not a good mindset for a trader of any time span.
The internet is full of anonymous message board stock market geniuses. Why don’t you post some of your entry positions in real time and let us see genius at work?
https://www.fdd.org/analysis/2023/10/19/hamas-unwittingly-admits-gaza-rockets-are-prone-to-misfire/
https://www.ntd.com/hamas-rockets-frequently-misfire-analysis_949256.html
You take Hamas numbers as credible, are the IDFs credible as well?:
https://www.ndtv.com/world-news/israel-hamas-war-idf-says-one-fifth-rockets-fired-by-hamas-palestinian-islamic-jihad-misfired-24-hours-4503341
https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/defence/israel-almost-10000-rockets-fired-from-gaza-since-october-7/articleshow/105064500.cms
Now if 1 in 5 misfire that's 2000. But let's say that's an exaggeration and it's really 1 in 10. That's 1000 rockets fired by Hamas in 2 months that all could conceivably fall on Gaza.
Do you really think Hamas gives a shit about how many Palestinians get killed?
Many credible sources such as who?
No one is enjoying this, the only thing more unpleasant than your manners is your lack of research.
Aren’t you some old stock or investment guy? I hope your DD is better for that stuff than this
And you did hear that number of casualties is provided by the Hamas Health Ministry?
You know that same credible source that claimed an Israeli rocket hit that hospital and killed 500. None of which was true. Hey it says the earth is flat on the internets.
Let me ask you this: how many of those deaths do you figure were caused by Hamas missiles misfiring? Like the one that hit that hospital parking lot.
And how many Palestinian lives have been saved by the Iron Dome shooting down Hamas missiles that had misfired over Gaza?
Whatever. Your post is pointless, it doesn’t advance the conversation at all, just an attempted gotcha maneuver.
You did read or hear that Hamas fired about 3000 rockets at Israel? You cool with that?
The answer is that innocent civilians are being killed on both sides in this war.
No one can claim a moral higher ground, they're all murderers.
The main difference is that Hamas is committed only to killing all the Jews and getting rid of Israel (their words, not mine). They are uninterested in a two state solution if one state is Israel.
If Israel wanted to kill all the Palestinians, they'd all be dead by now.
Oooh, zing! That hurts, bro.
So you're actually not embarrassed to publicly state that "we've reformed"? What the heck do you think the BLM movement was all about?
https://home.treasury.gov/news/featured-stories/racial-inequality-in-the-united-states

"events over the past year have only underscored how prevalent systemic racism and bias is in America today." - Stanford News
"The death penalty has always been, and continues to be, disproportionately wielded against Black people and other people of color. Disparities in the makeup of the death row population are clear" - NACDL
By willfully ignoring the obvious, it seems like you're as much of a murdering racist as the next guy.
https://www.statista.com/statistics/1124036/number-people-killed-police-ethnicity-us/
Your tax dollars go to them, too.
"The rate of police shootings of Black Americans is much higher than any other ethnicity, at 5.8 per million people. This rate stands at 2.5 per million for Hispanics and 2.3 per million for Whites."
See, I was under the impression it was a radical
Israeli terrorist doctrine but by you calling it a radical Judaic doctrine, you conflate Israelis with Jews.
Your Hamas handlers would be proud.
And why the fixation solely on Israel? Again
The right of return might be an old idea. I didn’t say Arafat invented it, I wrote he sprung it at the last minute to scuttle the peace process, which you couldn’t be bothered to address
It’s estimated that like 5 million people have been killed in the civil war in Congo. Why is that situation not on your radar?
What government is not a racist piece of shit, by the way? If you like Zionism, you'll love Jim Crow laws, redlining, Indian reservations, etc.
Or maybe the way the Chinese are treating the Uyghurs or the Australians the Aborigines or Iran's treatment of the LBGTQ community?
It still remains to be explained your fixation on Israel as the global epitome of bad treatment of indigenous people. Not saying it's excusable but I just don't see you writing posts advocating for any other oppressed people anywhere else. Why is that? Why the focus only on Israel?
What a load of horse shit. You heard from someone in the room? Right, and I'm the King of Siam.
It's well known that Arafat spontaneously came up with the so called, "right of return" as a way specifically to scuttle the peace process. No one had ever even heard of that term previously. Plus, it's an absurd idea, absolutely a non-starter, unless my family can have back our ancestral home in Galicia, too.
It's what led the war criminal Kissinger to remark about Arafat, that, "he's never missed an opportunity to miss an opportunity".
This is what was at stake for him to keep the scam active:
https://www.brookings.edu/articles/arafats-billions/
And Pat Tillman was killed by American friendly fire in Afghanistan. Not to make excuses, but fucked up shit happens in war. Fragging, anyone? Hey, plus, I'm sure that some of you are pleased that there are now that many fewer Zionists, the ones killed by Israeli friendly fire, walking around and screwing up the world.
There are an estimated 3 million Palestinians living in Jordan, yet,
"Proposals that the Palestinians be given Jordanian citizenship are strongly opposed by the Jordanian government.[4]" - wikipedia
When Jordan controlled the West Bank from about 1950 to about 1967, why were there no calls for a Palestinian state, then, ever? But definitely, please, no one hold the rulers of the Hashemite Kingdom accountable for their treatment of Palestinians.
Next time you trash Netanyahu, and, again, I despise the man, keep this in mind as someone who would lead the negotiations for Hamas:
https://www.standard.co.uk/news/world/hamas-spokesman-bbc-interview-ghazi-hamad-israel-october-7-nova-festival-b1116340.html
Maybe, I missed it, since it's been shown that I'm not well read, but has anyone seen any communication from Hamas leadership that their eternal war against Israel will end with the establishment of a Palestinian state or the removal of the settlements in the WB?
And, yes, let's respect the rights of civilians who are caught up in this travesty:
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-67192885
This is your takeaway from a discussion comparing southern Texans (Mexicans) to Palestinians? And about an American response to a hypothetical Mexican attack? Nice!
I made a mistake and admitted it, how does that make me stupid?
Wrong doesn't equal stupid. Supporting Hamas or denying Israel's right to exist equals stupid.
I already publicly admitted my error but please enjoy your piling on
Oh and by the way, have you ever publicly admitted to making an error?
And the reactions of Palestinians to being bombed is different from those of Vietnamese how?
I assume that when you refer to experts on Palestine, you mean yourself.
Who could have predicted what happened in the aftermath of our adventure in Vietnam?
Only an egomaniac could claim they know what’s going to happen in the future with certainty.
A mere 18 years after the end of WWII, JFK claimed, “ich bin ein Berliner”. I suppose you saw that coming too
Of course you’re correct, I mis- stated which river. Glad you never get anything wrong and are qualified to judge people as stupid, must have made you feel good, huh? The rest of that post was accurate, though, about us appropriating Mexican territory.
Didn’t we bomb the shit out of Vietnam for about 10 years including with napalm? Yet go there now and the Vietnamese freaking love all things American.
Not saying this will happen in Gaza but your confidence that Israel is creating more Hamas terrorists is misplaced
I'm sorry, I know I've called out your hypocrisy earlier today, but this is a particularly stupid post.
Why would Mexico attack us? Wasn't Texas, at least below the Rio Grande, a part of Mexico until America took it? Surely you've heard of the battle of the Alamo and know what that was about?
The analogy is exact, Texas was our West Bank and we pushed the Mexicans out and colonized it. How could you not get that? Now go back to profiting off of Osage land and maybe read a history book sometime.
Indeed. Oddly the Jews were treated better by the Confederacy than by the north. Check out Order # 11, issued by General Grant and later rescinded by Lincoln
From the Hamas Covenant,
"The Day of Judgment will not come about until Moslems fight Jews and kill them. Then, the Jews will hide behind rocks and trees, and the rocks and trees will cry out: 'O Moslem, there is a Jew hiding behind me, come and kill him." (Article 7)
Will one of you lame-ass hypocrites, which is almost all of you, please explain how this is connected to Palestinian statehood?
And who can forget this golden oldie?:
"Their (the Jews) scheme has been laid out in the 'Protocols of the Elders of Zion'." (Article 32)
This is the gang that some of you are making excuses for, congrats on your critical thinking skills!
How many of your oil wells are on Osage land? Do you ever put your money where your mouth is or are you all talk?
What do you anti-Zionists want to become of Israel? Where should the Jews go next? Or maybe you think Arab nationals will let them continue to live happily ever after in Israel in an Arab majority single state.
650K Jews expelled from Iran.
135K expelled from Algeria.
75K expelled from Egypt.
135K expelled from Iraq.
260K expelled from Morocco.
100K expelled from Tunisia.
This is what ethnic cleansing looks like. Most of these "white colonizers" had no place to go but Israel. And, no, this doesn't give them the right to treat anyone else poorly, but you guys are a bunch of stupid fucking assholes.
Living in land stolen from Native Americans? I thought so. But go ahead with your lame analogies to enable Hamas, please.
This is pointless. If Hamas had spent its money on Gazans instead of munitions, Israel wouldn't have had to enact draconian measures.
You can drive from Israel into Jordan and back along mining trails in the Dead Sea and there are no checkpoints. See how that works?
Well, whatever, you do you and never mind with my opinion.
"Who puts up with 100 years of repression, exploitation and continuing to this day expropriation of your land." Exactly!
https://nationalpost.com/news/world/israel-middle-east/hamas-leaders-wealth#:~:text=It%20also%20estimates%20the%20net,each%20worth%20about%20%244%20billion.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2023/11/02/hamas-funding-ismail-haniyeh-us-sanctions/
etc. Who's zoomin' who? You're throwing everything into a big bucket and conflating a few distinct issues and then throwing them at the wall to see what will stick (I think the settlers in the WB are barbarians and deserve no quarter, so don't throw that one at me)
Gaza could have been a world class travel destination, a beautiful beachside resort area with a booming economy. Instead Hamas stole everything from the Palestinians and hold them hostage to their apocalyptic vision.
Was I unclear when I told you to fuck all the way off? Did you maybe think that was just a figure of speech?
I could not be less interested in your opinions and have zero desire to dialogue with you.
Seriously?
"I think the law says something like you use appropriate force on that attacker"
Who determines appropriate force on an attacker who breaks a ceasefire and commits war crimes on innocents? So, if Hamas fires 3000 missiles indiscriminately at Israel (which they did), it would be "appropriate" for Israel to fire 3000 rockets indiscriminately back at Gaza? How many Israeli children would be dead if the Iron Dome didn't exist or malfunctioned? You seem to honestly not give a thought or a shit about this, that Hamas specifically targets civilians.
And you still avoid the central issue. How should Israel have responded? How do they negotiate with a death cult? You're very good on what they shouldn't be doing but not so much on what they should. Here in the U.S., that's commonly referred to as Monday Morning Quarterbacking.
And again, if Mexico fired 3000 missiles at Texas and attacked kids at the SXSW festival, what do you suppose the American response would be?
Here's an imperfect analogy. Let's say you're walking down the street with your granddaughter, who's a high schooler. Out of nowhere, some random dude comes up to you and punches your granddaughter in the face so hard that she winds up knocked out or hospitalized.
Does her attacker, then, get to set the terms of your response? How hard you can hit him back or how many times? Because that seems to be pretty much what you're doing.
I completely agree with you up to your last paragraph. And I again ask, how should Israel have responded to the attack? No one seems willing to answer that.
Hamas attacks defenseless people then runs and hides behind women and children. And then works social media to enlist naïfs to its cause.
This entire situation is FUBAR but as much as you might disagree with the Israeli response, let’s keep in mind who instigated this war. If Mexico had launched 3000 missiles indiscriminately at Texas, and attacked SXSW, what do you think our response would have been?
And also again, if the settlements had been attacked instead, this would be an entirely different conversation
I don't dispute the asshole-ness of Netanyahu, at all, he should have been in jail ages ago. And by the demonstrations a few months ago, I don't think most Israelis would dispute it either.
But, it seems like you are simply giving cover to the attack by Hamas with your whataboutism.
Wow, so it's really your way or the highway, your response does not respect my opinion, obviously, so let me ask you this.
How, exactly, do you propose to get the hostages back and enable Israel to have secure borders?
I haven't seen any list of demands by Hamas, say, withdrawal from the settlements or return to '67 borders, so on what basis would you negotiate with them? They've already broken one ceasefire and the subsequent truce so what does your "ceasefire now" crowd propose as a solution?
Just to be clear, Hamas is a nihilistic death cult. They are publicly committed to destroying Israel and killing Jews. You're going to negotiate with that? Even Bernie Sanders publicly recognizes the inherent futility of negotiating with them.
How, exactly, does the attack by Hamas further the goal of a Palestinian statehood? And what, exactly, should Israel's response have been? Put on your big boy pants and write a reasoned response, please.
