JPetrol - Do you have any more insight on this hypothesis?
Jockeying for control? Sounds intriguing.
I take it you are at the CTIA conference.
It seems as though you're always there. Thanks for the major contribution over all these years. You always seem even keeled and present your side of things with class.
So, I take it you've seen Laura? Looks as if she's working the scene?
Anyone know if we might just see something on PACER today?
Do we expect anything soon?
Do we assume that Neustar's deal with Neomedia was an unspoken declaration by the industry that THEY ARE the clearinghouse of this mobile marketing ecosystem....
or are we still waiting for CTIA to declare something?
Make sure you have the I-Box (information box) opened at the top of the Neomedia page here on IHUB. The I-Box has links to alot of information, that has been posted by the moderators of this thread, from many different posters. Make sure the I-Box isn't hidden.
It'll give you more reading into NEOM.
Future Financing - What are the general thoughts
on immediate future financing?
Will we need to borrow any more money from YA?
Is the next time going to be the last time, if there
is a next time?
I'd like to hear some ideas.
As of RIGHT NOW, what are our monthly / 3 month period costs?
In other words, how much money do we spend per month to keep on truckin?
As of Oct 7,
Revenue - costs = ?
Considering these numbers could be changing drastically as we write in this forum.
How did you hear about Neomedia, especially since you haven't been investing in the past? Nice find my friend.
My personally feeling is this:
The mobile marketing through barcodes is going to be like nothing advertising has ever imagined beforehand.
I feel the major players in this realm are going to be massively rich. The companies are going to be massively successful.
I seem to always revert back to microsoft in the early stages.. The technology was new, investors were nervous, but it was soo easy to see that it was groundbreaking stuff. Investors that took BIG stakes in microsoft in the very beginning were very smart individuals, and now are massively wealthy as well. I feel investors getting into the companies at the center of this phenomena will be richly rewarded. Great thing that NEOM has IP all over this technological entity.
The road to ROLLING OUT this technology has been a long one, and one with many obstacles, trials and tribulations. Fortunately, it seems as though we've made it through the storm, and we are beginning to see the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Regardless of OS, this stock can BOOM into another universe. With the amount of money that is possible in this multi billion dollar annual marketing technology, NEOM stock buy backs, strengthening shareholders, upgrade in stock exchange are all MORE THAN POSSIBLE.... almost considered PROBABLE AND LIKELY.
Fortune for some, that there is still ground level opportunities for investing in a company that might be
considered a MASSIVE success in the future.
How many total do you have now?
I refused to lower my cost basis, by not buying more at this ridiculously low pps the last year or so. I'm sure there's many out there in my boat.
Now, I'm kicking myself. But, I'm in it for a long haul, not just a quick run up. I'm waiting to see this thing hit $20 pps.
I hope all of the 10m share club members have NO INTENTION of selling at only .10 or .25 .... thoses pps watermarks are only just the beginning.
You say there's quite a few 10m share clubmembers... but how much did you invest to get those shares?
Who the heck is selling NOW?
Are they nuts?
Leave em in the dust, is all I can say.
Anyone remember when this was just a 'new killer ap' (that really hadn't even begun to be developed) .... and just by microsoft commenting on it, the stock pps went from a half a penny to 7 cents over night. And with a bit of a wait, the pps went to 75 cents. All with nothing in place.
Guess what, things have begun to fall in place BIG TIME
I hope that any greedy pigs that are selling NOW,
crash and burn, and get left in the dust with NOTHING.
Biggest news in the history of this whole technology.
A major piece of the ecosystem JUST dropped into place.
I agree. This validates everything, by Neustar releasing the pR!
Also, either Neustar released the PR and is saying to scambust, "you'd better start licensing with NEOM now" or Neustar already knows scambust is going to be licensing Neom's IP.
I don't think merger is even a consideration.
Scanbuy has a couple of patents ... if I remember correctly.
How many patents does NEOM have EXACTLY?
I can't locate them on NEOM's site.

If SCAMhole were in this all by themselves, then it would be useful to have their own clearinghouse, registry, etc... but they aren't, and never will be..
Guess what the Mobile Code Consortium, CTIA, the MMA, ICANN,.... blah blah blah..... all are doing, to come out with an ecosystem. Therefore, Scamdeal's independent clearinghouse and registry, situated in the corner office on the 2nd floor mean nothing.
5 years ago, Neomedia was setting up a clearinghouse, registry, etc... as well... and it would have done no good, because the only way this thing works, as if the INDUSTRY establishes the clearinghouse, registry, etc... and everyone works together.
And to say that SCAM is paving the road.... is kind of ridiculous.
Who came up with the original IP?
Who came up with setting up a registry and clearinghouse?
Who helped establish the MC2?
Hasn't Neom been in the midst of trial campaigns with BIG names for the last couple years?
There have been many big name partners and associates collaborating with NEOM.
Is microsoft tag infringing on our IP?
I don't recall getting a definitive answer.
Your gut, I like.
If the ecosystem rolls out like we think it will,
and Neomedia's patents are confirmed by Scanbuy
settling / validating there's no way of getting around...
not only will companies begin following suit by licensing,
I think the target price the T Smith proposed 5 years ago, will be surpassed by double or triple that target price, just to begin. Just to begin.
Major Ecosystem Entities - Besides the entities listed below, you else should we be familiar with, and what role with they specifically place in the ecosystem?
At this very moment, where are they with the creation of the ecosystem?
Can we differentiate a US ecosystem and World ecosystem, or will it come out as one in the same?
NEOMEDIA TECHNOLOGIES - Barcode creation and Barcode Reading Technology, Patents, etc...
CTIA - The Wireless Association, originally known as the Cellular Telephone Industries Association, is an international industry trade group representing all wireless communication sectors including cellular, personal communication services and enhanced specialized mobile radio.[3] Founded in 1984, they are primarily involved in lobbying the US government and were instrumental in the passage of both the Electronic Communications Privacy Act and the Telecommunications Disclosure & Dispute Resolution Act.
CTIA primarily represents the interests of wireless telecommunications companies. Their board is a mix of service providers, manufacturers and wireless data companies, as well as other contributors to the wireless industry.
NEUSTAR, Inc. is a provider of clearinghouse and directory services that enable communication across networks, applications, and enterprises around the world. The company provides competing communications service providers (CSPs) and enterprises with equal access to shared resources. In addition, Neustar facilitates advanced services and helps to route voice, advanced data applications and IP-based communications.
Neustar was founded to meet the technical and operational challenges of the communications industry when the U.S. government mandated local number portability in 1996. While the company remains the provider of the solution that the communications industry relies upon to meet this mandate, it also has developed a range of services related to addressing, interoperability and infrastructure (see below) that meet an array of customer needs.
ICANN is the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers. Headquartered in Marina Del Rey, California, United States, ICANN is a non-profit corporation that was created to oversee a number of Internet-related tasks previously performed directly on behalf of the U.S. government by other organizations, notably the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA).
ICANN's tasks include responsibility for Internet Protocol (IP) address space allocation, protocol identifier assignment, generic (gTLD) and country code (ccTLD) top-level domain name system management, and root server system management functions. More generically, ICANN is responsible for managing the assignment of domain names and IP addresses. To date, much of its work has concerned the introduction of new generic top-level domains (TLDs).
ICANN's primary principles of operation have been described as helping preserve the operational stability of the Internet; to promote competition; to achieve broad representation of global Internet community; and to develop policies appropriate to its mission through bottom-up, consensus-based processes.
On September 29, 2006, ICANN signed a new agreement with the United States Department of Commerce (DOC) that moves the private organization towards full management of the Internet's system of centrally coordinated identifiers through the multi-stakeholder model of consultation that ICANN represents.
GSM ASSOCIATION (GSMA) is an association of mobile operators and related companies devoted to supporting the standardizing, deployment and promotion the GSM mobile telephone system. It claims as members nearly 800 mobile operators and more than 200 related companies. Telecoms.com called it "one of the most powerful trade associations in the world, lobbying governments on everything from tax policy to pricing strategy".
OPEN MOBILE ALLIANCE (OMA) is a standards body which develops open standards for the mobile phone industry.
The OMA was created in June 2002 as an answer to the proliferation of industry forums each dealing with a few application protocols: the WAP Forum (focused on browsing and device provisioning protocols), the Wireless Village (focused on instant messaging and presence), the The SyncML Initiative (focused on data synchronization), the Location Interoperability Forum, the Mobile Games Interoperability Forum and the Mobile Wireless Internet Forum. Each of these forums had its bylaws, its decision-taking procedures, its release schedules, and in some instances there was some overlap in the specifications, causing duplication of work. The OMA was created to gather these initiatives under a single umbrella.
Members include traditional wireless industry players such as equipment and mobile systems manufacturers (Ericsson, Thomson, Siemens, Reti Radiotelevisive Digitali, Nokia, Openwave, Sony Ericsson, Philips, Motorola, Samsung, Texas Instruments) and mobile operators (Telefónica, Vodafone, Orange, T-Mobile), but also software vendors (Microsoft, Sun Microsystems, IBM, Oracle Corporation, Symbian, Celltick, Expway, Mformation, InnoPath, Motive, Discretix).
GS1 is an international not-for-profit association dedicated to the development and implementation of global standards and solutions to improve the efficiency and visibility of supply and demand chains globally and across multiple sectors. The GS1 System of standards is the most widely-used supply-chain standards system in the world.
GS1's main activity is the development of the GS1 System, a series of standards designed to improve supply-chain management. The GS1 System is composed of four key standards: Barcodes (used to automatically identify things), eCom (electronic business messaging standards allowing automatic electronic transmission of data), GDSN (Global Data Synchronisation standards which allow business partners to have consistent item data in their systems at the same time) and EPCglobal (which uses RFID technology to immediately track an item).
Others involved:
Clearinghouse
Manufacturers
Service Providers
Carriers
Ad Agencies
Barcode Campaign Managers
Therefore, if Neustar actually becomes the clearinghouse, they will have ALL the incentive needed to get all of the 700 worldwide carrier distribution network involved with using the barcodes / marketing ecosystem.
Assuming that NEOM's patents are in the middle of every transaction, then the possibilities of revenue are astounding.
And JP, thanks for posting alot of really good information, that has been posted in the past, and refreshing our minds, because it is VERY significant stuff.
Has Neomedia actually stated or posted that they are attending the CTIA event this week?
JPetrolnc, what do you think will happen this week at the conference? And do you personally see neustar being selected as the clearinghouse, and when?
Regardless of how the intricate details fall into place, is it universally accepted that both CTIA and ICANN have to be involved for this entire 2d barcode system to work? Or is it possible for one to develop this thing totally independent of the other?
As for a keyword registry, it hasn't seemed that it gets much attention, or is even discussed much...... being completed overshadowed by 2d barcode scanning side of things and its potential.
Before this ICANN release and a potential connection, what was the latest talk about a keyword registry?
Anyone know what the collaboration has been between these two entities up til this point, in terms of 2d barcode scanning and an ecosystem?
BC, thanks for taking the time. Much appreciated.
I can see that ICANN seems to be coming out with a slew of domain options. Are you saying THIS IS the keyword registry, or ICANN is the place where we are eventually going to see the word registry?
If this is tied to the word registry, then I'd assume NEOM has been collaborating with ICANN?
Are you saying, the licensing of both the code scanning and registered word IPs will take place in ICANN?
Then, these "sellers" or wholesalers, will license our IP, and then sell the individual services to their own subgroup of clients?
KeyWord Registry..
Success622 just posted a reminder of this:
STERLING, Va., March 31, 2009 – NeuStar (NYSE: NSR) today unveiled the first successful demonstration and implementation of technology that enables cell phones to scan and process two-dimensional bar codes – regardless of the mobile service provider, type of bar code symbology, or scanning technology used.
NeuStar’s pilot program is based on open standards and demonstrates interoperability among the world’s most successful bar code campaign managers, symbologies, and code reader technologies through NeuStar’s trusted third party central clearinghouse and registry services. Announced at CTIA, the program currently involves industry-leading companies 3GVision, Mobile Discovery, Mobile Tag, and NeoMedia.
Now, wouldn't neustar or group named to be the clearinghouse through CTIA, be responsible for the KeyWord Registry?
And the importance of it all (keyword registry) is that NEOM has the concept patented, correct?
Thanks for posting Krays.
I appreciate the fact that both parties believe that this extension will not affect any other deadlines.
Settlement is in the works.
ICANN - KeyWord Registry - Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers
If this IS a/the KeyWord Registry.... they would be responsible for what exactly, in terms of the whole barcode scanning/marketing ecosystem?
How do they tie into the whole CLEARINGHOUSE situation?
forgiveness of liability...
???????????????????????????
Sorry Claw... I was only using your post to respond to other posts prior to yours.
The settlement, if it happens, will benefit Neomedia in an extremely positive manner.
There is NO WAY that neom will be settling for anything but a settlement that will put them in a position to succeed. And succeeding means upholding the IP rights, in turn, being in position to reap the rewards if the ecosystem is built.
The battle has gone on way to long to settle for mediocrity and/or a position to fall into oblivion.
If a settlement takes place, neomedia WILL be on the better end of the settlement.
Not a translation, just a bash.
Haven't built up enough of a neom position yet?
Don't be greedy.
The previous assumption is a very possible reality.
If it turns out to be the reality, then you will
see the pps skyrocket, regardless of any level of OS.
You haven't been reading the news? Everyday, some other fortunate 500 company starts playing with this technology.
The mobile barcode scanning technology will be used in a huge way, for a long long long long long time.
And if you haven't been around neomedia, then you wouldn't know. Have any idea of the people Neomedia have been working with? You wouldn't say those are BIG, IMPORTANT companies?
As for ROBOT, you are absolutely mistaken.
Very few know about any MEMO posted to Pacer, regardless of what it says. It actually only infers that there may be a settlement, nothing more. So, why would anyone be putting money into any stock, until they know that there IS a settlement?
Until it is formally publicized, and the major players are listed, there will be NO large investors popping in.
IF this develops? What do you mean IF this develops?
It has been developing over the past 5 years, with bits and pieces rolling out all over the world... with big names everywhere waking up to barcode marketing.
You mean, when the ecosystem / clearinghouse commences with Neomedia IP in the center. Guess what. When that happens, which is just around the corner, neomedia will soon be generating millions.... Neomedia wouldn't even need to market its products or services if they didn't want to, because they will be pulling in millions with doing nothing more than accepting licensing of the IP. It will instantly go from borrower to generator of big revenue.
Fortunately, Neomedia will have lots of business on their own, due to the past years of positioning itself and forging relationships with alot of the big boys in business..
Therefore, when it comes time to pull in millions and millions, the 2b OS will not be that much of a big deal. In terms of Neomedia stock, it blew up to .75 on nothing but hype, regardless of the OS level of the time. Neomedia has never been closer than now to actually reaching Tobin's pps estimate of $5.00 / share. Difference is.... the entire ecosystem will be built and operating... instead of just neomedia running the show as he was anticipating.
Therefore, comparing companies out their that do quite well, and also have a large OS count is useful when combating posters constant bashing... because a very high PPS can easily occur with 2b in OS.
Court documents: If there has been a settlement, or steps already taken leading to settlement, could some documents HAVE BEEN filed manually, and NOT posted electronically already? And if so, is the public free to view such documents? Meaning, if anyone lives in NYC, is it worth heading to the courthouse?
Thanks krayfish. I just wanted to make sure
that there wasn't some underlying connection
to what we are waiting for... that I was missing.
Exact Significance: What are we making out of this development?

CLAWmania -
What would be REQUIRED by the court, in terms of making things public, if there has been a settlement?
The judge agrees and signs off on the settlement....
Then, the court is required to post the settlement results on PACER, or at least post a ruling in court records...?
Is there a time limit involved with such things?

Does it make sense that some MAJOR barcode ecosystem / clearinghouse / IP announcement should be made at this time?
In the list of exhibitors, I see neuStar,
but not neom or the other one.
Has there been word of our presence at the convention?
It would make sense that this whole settlement thing should be done and announced... in order to present the whole shabangle of this technology, and its future direction, to the media and convention goers. That would make major headlines, I'd have to think.
The next major CTIA event is not until... would they be planning to wait THAT long before putting the next major piece of the puzzle out on STAGE?

Yeah, he's obsessed with day trading the
shilackings out of this stock.
Funny thing.... being a long could possibly make you a millionare in this stock. But, if you happen to get absent
of neom stock when HUGE news comes out, you may be left on
the curb, watching the neom caravan head off into the horizon without ya.
There's no question in my mind that 2d barcode / internet scanning and advertising will become mainstream for centuries to come... it's all a part of the future of global business. The cell phone is here to stay, and mobile advertising is here to stay, and there's NO BETTER WAY for connecting consumer to products, then to allow access directly from consumers' #1 companion, the cell phone.
Is the indirect, open standard the way its going? Seems like a big YES to me.
How certain are we that NEOM IP is at the center of this world changing event? If it is open and indirect, then neom will be at the center of this revolution.
For some reason, I've been thinking we were higher..
but I think you're right.
It's still a significantly lower pps to sell at...
when we were at .004
To expand on the idea...
If Scanbuy did indeed buy 77m shares,
then who would have been willing to
shed 77m shares at .001/.002 when the
pps was at .0075?

Does he have options that he can convert?
If so, at what pps?
Ok then.. if they are not legally entitled in some way, how the HECK can he be saying in an interview with a well known blogger that there HUGE things in the pipeline?
That implies that neomedia is heading into some big developments, and that he was told.
Unless he's a total idiot, it doesn't make much sense.
