Bush reaffirms support for Gonzales
too bad the entire transcript regarding "...i invented the internet..." wasn't aired or printed more. everyone should have heard the whole statement, in which he did not say he invented the internet. put some words around it and everything looks different. we are such a gullible nation!
i don't see gore bragging. i see him working to improve, to learn, to help. i see him thinking and making an effort to seek change, to elaborate on an issue that is difficult and inconvenient to accept. he's not saying we're wrong, he's suggesting that there is a possibility we can join in to help...whether it - the global thing you're writing about - is a natural state of being or natural and added to by whatever we put into the air and waters. bush? can't even speak to that! bleh!
ya, that gore. he's the bad guy.
finally...QLGC in pop mode. bought yesterday at 16.70
SNDK green?
just did that! hope i'm right...
well, now it's only T and it's about to sink too! lot's of good news on QLGC lately though. maybe today is a buy?? good luck
only 2 of my stocks are up:
QLGC and T
07:34 QLGC QLogic: Core buisness strong - FBR (20.12 )
Friedman Billings says heading into QLGC's 4Q06 earnings call, they believe that the core HBA business would continue to outperform and that CY 1Q07 would turn out to be better than seasonally normal, based on their checks suggesting strong storage networking industry conditions. While the strength of the core HBA business supported firm's view, overall rev growth was tripped up by an unexpectedly sharp decline in the small sideshow category of mgmt controllers, causing QLGC to fall slightly short of the consensus top line, with EPS just $0.01 ahead of the Street, once adjusted for a tax benefit. Firm believes that the strength in the core HBA business more than offsets the weakness in mgmt controllers for valuation purposes, but they expect some stock weakness anyway, as momentum investors exit following the top-line disappointment
too funny! you say this just about every time i ask...and you're always right! last time was a kick though. the Q sailed on earnings. well, back to work on tuesday and no time to trade. bum
thanks op
QCOM to hit 40 today??
thought i blew it buying LVLT @6 the minute cramer pumped a couple of days ago....held on...and away it goes. is he going to tell me when to sell too?!
it was cut to average at caris & co....earnings on the 16th. convenient time to buy?
barcharts likin' it!
http://quotes.barchart.com/texpert.asp?sym=amat
they report on the 16th so maybe this is a sign of good things to come...
i'm liking QLGC today!
It is possible that Al Gore's film plays to the choir, but it is worth a look even if you're not a Gore fan. I think the title says it all.....it is inconvenient to do anything to improve the earth and the future for our kids, so if I don't know and I don't see the film, I won't have to be inconvenienced...
Actually, I think it was the perfect 'storm'. Al put people to work (editors, writers, graphic artists, etc.) by making the film, a subject he is passionate about. Capitalism!
Maybe you were just joking with the mention of "mumbo jumbo". Sorry about the politics Zeev, although it is a market issue.

Satellite Radio May Try a Merger
<<“There is a tendency to view satellite radio as if the glass is half empty, and that it is a failure or disappointment,” said Craig Moffett, senior cable analyst for Sanford C. Bernstein.
“In fact, nothing could be further from the truth,” he said. “Satellite radio is growing faster than any consumer product except for the iPod.>>
I haven't heard of a buyout. I sold yesterday @8.30.
higher lows, higher highs....looks like mama is calling home!
higher lows...higher highs
best of luck with you dr. appt. jerry and happy holidays. i love paris! it is fabulous no matter what time of year you visit. my son and his girlfriend lived there for 4 months earlier this year, renting an appt. and all. they fell in love with the city too. by the way, those wineries in the loire valley are fun to visit. the dessert wine at the vouvray winery was my favorite. to top it off, we visited chateau chenanceau. unbelievable...and the best of all the chateaus we visited. anyway, have a safe trip.
i'm a lurker but so enjoy your posts and thoughts. you've helped me make a bit of dough!
nancie
Zeev, you haven't mentioned QLGC in a long time. It has moved beyond the pivot point and I'm hoping it hits and moves beyond resistance at 22.92 - but not sure when. It looks good for 2007. Any thoughts? thanks
QLGC upgraded to outperform
anybody in CHINA today?? barchart looking pretty happy:

no kickball or dodgeball at our school as of monday...district orders (san diego)
Cramer mentioned Sonic (sonc) and today there was a tv ad showing a customer using a credit card or a sonic credit card - your choice - to make a purchase at the drive-thru. Expanding business and credit at the drive-thru......i like. I won't use credit there, but billions and billions will (and drop further into debt whilst gaining poundage). Sonic a buy??

The Market's 10 Best Stocks
By Tim Hanson (TMF Mmbop)
April 6, 2006
The greatest stocks of the past decade are not the ones you'd expect. Microsoft isn't on the list. And Apple doesn't crack the top 50. I wouldn't have been able to name any of the top 10 on the spot. That just goes to show you that we probably haven't even heard of the best 10 stocks of the next 10 years. But I'm getting ahead of myself.
Without further ado, here are the 10 top performers:

There are more than a few things shocking about this list. First, these companies are obscure. Hansen Natural -- the greatest stock of the past decade -- has sold all-natural juices and sodas since the 1930s. Chico's sells clothes to women in their 30s, and 10 years ago it had fewer than 250 stores. SCP Pool -- a company with 45% annual returns -- wholesales swimming pool supplies and chemicals!
Second, there's only one "tech" firm on the list -- and it's not one of the famous ones. Only four analysts are currently following Comtech.
Ten years ago, none of these companies had a heavy following from the pros on Wall Street. Even more incredibly, some still don't.
Finally, none of these companies was worth more than $200 million 10 years ago. After 10 years of incredible growth, seven of them are still small caps! Only Chico's, NVR, and American Eagle have moved comfortably into mid-cap status.
What about the next 10 best?

Action Performance moves to NYSE
February 20, 2002
Action Performance Companies Inc., the leader in officially licensed motorsports collectibles and memorabilia transferred its stock listing to the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) on Wednesday, February 20, 2002. Chairman, President, and CEO of Action Performance Fred W. Wagenhals initiated trading by ringing the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange that morning. He was joined on the podium by NASCAR Winston Cup Champion Rusty Wallace and wife Patti Wallace, three-time NASCAR Winston Cup Champion and NASCAR FOX Sports analyst Darrell Waltrip, six-time NASCAR Winston Cup Champion Team Owner Richard Childress, and 11 time NHRA Funny Car Champion John Force. Action Performance representatives on the podium included CFO David Martin, Executive Vice President of Sales Melodee Volosin, Vice President of Strategic Alliances John Bickford Sr., and Lisa Wagenhals, wife of the CEO. Waltrip announced the opening of trading by stating, “Ladies and gentlemen start your trading,” while Childress and Wallace waved green and checkered race flags. Wagenhals and Wallace made live appearances on CNBC’s Squawk Box and CNNfn’s Market Call that morning.
Outside the stock exchange, Action Performance displayed the Dale Earnhardt Legendary Trackside Trailer and an actual Dale Earnhardt racecar. Thousands of New Yorkers and visitors viewed the exhibit and had the opportunity to hear the stock car’s engine rumble in the streets of New York. Viewers were also able to see the inner workings of the racecar. Dale Earnhardt's car has been cutaway to reveal the engine and interior features, yet remains completely functionally. Action Performance banners were hung outside and inside the New York Stock Exchange, displaying Action’s new trading symbol.
Action Performance had been listed on the NASDAQ National Market under the ticker symbol ACTN since its initial public offering in 1993. Action’s new ticker symbol on the NYSE is ATN
I don't see ATN listed....looks like it last traded in December
