Slovenian Consortium to Build H-Power Plants in Albania
A Slovenian consortium will build several hydro electric power plants on the river of Shala in northern Albania. As part of the EUR 145m project, the Interenergo consortium will also operate the power plants in the next 35 years, the consortium wrote in a press release on Thursday.

The press release said that the project, which will be Slovenia's biggest investment in Albania so far, marked the beginning of big investments of Slovenian companies into Albanian energy infrastructure. Interenergo also said that it would include a number of Slovenian companies in the construction. The Interenergo consortium consists of financial group Poteza, construction company SGP Pomgrad and Interenergo Albania, Poteza's subsidiary set up for this project.



Poteza suggested to the Albanian Economy Ministry in 2007 to start using the energy potential of the Shala river and provided a feasibility study. In February, the Interenergo consortium won the public tender, while the concession contract was signed on Tuesday. The planned power plants are expected to produce 530,350 MWh of electricity per year and will have the power of 127.6MW. The construction is to be concluded in the next five years.

Africa, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Mexico, USA, UAE, Italy, Albania) worldwide.

Among other, he has served as the program director and/or chief systems engineer for a New City 3,500 new villas compound, Border/pipeline Command & Control (Preliminary Master Plan) in the Gulf, the Heathrow New East Terminal T2A (systems preliminary design for communications, BMS, AOS, Safety, Security Command & Control System) in the UK, the Physical Security System for the Athens Olympic Games and the Doha Asian Games, 800 km Railway Digital Communications System (GSM-r), 4 resorts 5,000 apartments/villas, hotels, malls, golf courses, marinas, (City Systems/Facility Management, Master Plan/preliminary design) in North Africa, technical DD for 100 MW Photovoltaic Plants In Italy and 120 MW Hydro Plants in Albania.

As the founder/principal of Hellenic Technologies Ltd, Mr. Kazantzis was in charge of many projects, including the design/construction of a Robotic Probe for the Max Planck Institute fusion Tokamak Reactor, offshore oil ring structures, handicapped people automated access systems, wind generators, military communications equipment & IT Shelters, large scale security systems for ports, nuclear reactor sites, refineries, palaces, border and city surveillance, orthopedic joint prosthesis & osteosynthesis implants, processing & packaging turnkey lines and plants for food, wood, building materials, white appliances, etc.

In the past he has worked for UNILEVER, Netherlands and the Hellenic Defense Systems S.A. Currently he also serves as the technical director and member of the Board of Directors of 3Power Energy Inc., a publicly listed company in the US.

NOTE 7 - NON CONTROLLING INTEREST

The Company has a 50% interest in American Seawind Energy LLC, a company registered in the State of Texas, United States of America and as of December 31, 2013, 75% interest in Shala Energy sh pk, a Company registered in the Republic of Albania. Both companies were inactive as of December 31, 2013.

ETF is normally composed of the shares of multitude of companies. For example, it may have 10 to 20 stocks, and it is unlikely for an ETF to go into bankruptcy (or all shares become zero in value). One or two of the companies in the ETF may go bust, but for all at once is almost impossible to occur. Hence, the risk is normally low. ETFs are a lot like mutual funds, but they are traded daily and in the open market, just like ordinary stocks. Similarly, it is very rare for a delisting to occur, and if it does, you will be notified. Worst that will happen is that they will return your money, or just give you the purchased shares; again the chance for losing your money is really slim.
When gold price crashed recently, a lot of gold companies went bust, including many mining companies. However no gold based ETF has failed yet (at last count). Don’t buy gold because it is not productive. For someone with limited money like me, I almost always, never buys into ETF or mutual funds. In my opinion, buying individual companies directly is the best way to go. The only time you should be going for mutual funds and ETF is when you have millions of ringgit that you are having difficulty in investing and managing all of them. But this is only my personal opinion, however it work very well. Hope this helps.

Speaker of Parliament, Mr. Ilir Meta, received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Both personalities assessed the excellent political relations between both countries and discussed on the possibilities of deepening the cooperation.

Speaker of Parliament, Mr. made a particular assessment for the signing of three important agreements of cooperation between Albania and the United Arab Emirates and expressed the conviction that this visit of the Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Anhyan in Tirana will contribute for the concrete and quick intensification of bilateral relations.


Speaker of Parliament and Minister Al Nahyan shared the conviction that the strengthening of inter-parliamentary relations between both countries will serve the intensification of contacts between both countries and the deepening of economic cooperation.

In this framework, Mr. Meta confirmed the establishment of Albania-United Arab Emirates group of friendship in the Albanian Parliament, which will be headed by MP Oerd Bylykbashi and is composed of 21 MPs from all political parties.


Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan stated that the United Arab Emirates assessed the friendship with Albania and its role in the Balkans by underlying the will of UAE to encourage concrete investments and development projects for Albania and other neighbouring countries.


Expressing the gratitude for the positive contribution of UAE in the Southeast Europe, in particular in Kosovo, Mr. Meta emphasised that Albania, being a factor of stability and development in the Balkan, could serve as an entrance door for the UAE investments in particular in sectors such as energy, transport, agriculture and tourism.

The Ministry of Environment has established an inspection team to verify hydropower , which are equipped with an environmental permit .

Chief Environment , Ergys Agassi said that only 180 have hydro - environmental permit .

" This working group created here at the Ministry of Environment , has verified all of hydropower and hydropower that are pajisyr with permission from the Ministry of Economy . Are somewhere to HPP 450 permit from the Ministry of Energy, but not an environmental permit . Only 180 of them are equipped with environmental permit and will be a verification of the situation to see where we are , "says Agassi .

A large proportion of permits for construction of HPP are given in the areas of environmental protection . In Gjirokastra , Përmet , Fier , Vlora , shines and Donegal , are given permission to construct dozens of HPP , which if built would cause great damage to environment . Energy Minister Damian Gjiknuri said several weeks ago that after the verification part of hydropower licenses will be removed .
