Show me a specific that the bears are "right" about but show it with more than opinion."
I gave specifics. Are there contracts, commercial quantities and a Vietnam deal right now? No- all by KBLB's own admission. Whether it's an "easy win" or not, it's a win. The Bulls said this would happen years ago. It didn't. Bears were right.
The scoreboard is all that matters.
The market in general seems to agree with the bears as well. I've made this point before but it bears repeating (pun intended), $5000 bucks was traded on the holy grail today. 5000 measly bucks. That isn't bullish. Not in anyone's wildest dreams is that a bullish sign.
Hopefully this will all change for the better very soon. My wishful thinking can't make the facts go away.
While everyone stands around high fiving each other because someone stood up to the neighborhood bully, I'm going to have to let some facts get in the way of your good story-
It's 2015. No contracts, no commercial quantities, no Vietnam deal... The bad news bear predicted all of that.
Had I listened to the bears on this board, I wouldn't be sitting here with a cost basis of .05.
I'm holding my position because I think Kim will put us in the black eventually, but I won't sit here and let wishful thinking obscure the facts.
The bears have been correct so far. That's just a fact.
Too bad BT isn't public. They do a good job of marketing themselves and if they get to market first, I've no doubt they'll do a great job branding themselves.
Even if Kraig wins the race to the market, I could see Kim blowing it with marketing and letting BT or someone else steal his thunder and become "the" spider silk co.
There's room for more than one company but branding will mean everything.
I don't want KBLB to be just another facial tissue or first aid adhesive strip. I want KBLB to be Band-Aid or Kleenex.
(Point being that no one knows the names of the other guys)
I agree. Gotta win it to mean something. No one remembers the also-ran.
Even if they won, the market won't really care til there's real belief that sales are imminent.
That sounds plausible. Hopefully you're right.
Tough to guess though. I don't know Vietnamese culture or how a communist govt does business so I can't even dream up what kind of delays might derail this thing. If similar to a western govt, could be a matter of senator A agreeing to vote for senator B's project near Hanoi in order to get the votes needed for the Lam Dong project.
I would think that if there is a hard deadline, it's Kim that set it. Governments have a way of tabling and re-tabling. If that's the case, I don't think he'd give a deadline without having a plan B.
I think you're on to something though. Kim's "come to a head" language, the tentative CC date, end of month being today...
(I just checked. The VN govt DOES use the Gregorian calendar)
I've been trying to do the same. (As far as figuring out the Vietnamese decision making process goes).
If it is similar with what happened with GMO crops, I'd guess we are feasibly on the verge of finalizing the framework.
I would think that there would be a longer discussion with GMOs you're going to eat rather than wear. But I have no clue what the fears would be other than the mutant worms escaping and destroying the indigenous silkworm population. Which, as I understand it, is impossible because they're not exactly mobile worms.
On the bright side, they might be excited looking at the potential of radiating one and letting it bite someone to see what kind of superpowers can be had from a spider worm.

HA NOI (VNS) — The director of the Viet Nam Institute of Agriculture Genetics, Dr Le Dinh Luong, has said Viet Nam must develop an appropriate legal framework to guide the cultivation and use of genetically modified organisms (GMO) in food production.
Speaking at a Consultative Workshop in the capital city on Wednesday, Luong addressed the need help the government manage the use of GMO and develop legal parameters for scientific research.
The workshop also considered a draft Circular on procedures to certify genetically modified organisms used in food and animal feed production.
"In reality, GMOs have been used in our country for around ten years, however, the application of genetically modified crop technology in production is still undergoing field trials to assess the efficiency and risks," Luong said.
http://vietnamnews.vn/society/246169/gm-crops-need-legal-framework-for-growth.html
I agree. They will want to move fast. China steals or copies everything they can so VN knows they need to move quickly before they lose the opportunity
That quote isn't accurate. Vietnam began importing GM crops around 2003. It wasn't until 2013 that there was talk of setting up the legal framework to grow their own. Once the "legal framework" talk started, it took about a year for final approval. (2014)
If history repeats itself, we are about at a year of the gm animal discussion.
I think this guy meant that the entire road to being a GMO country has been about a 10 year process.
What dumping? Last I saw there were only 500k or so shares traded.
There's one other reason I just thought of...
Maybe Playtex is the company demanding all the silk and Kim just doesn't want to be the "tampon string guy". Or the "adult diaper man".
Just a thought. Maybe it's about being branded with the right company out of the gate. lol
My only guess as to why he would "strategically" not produce more is because he couldn't fill orders out of the small facility they're currently producing in. So he's possibly choosing which customers get the samples.
We already know they can't produce metric tons. Ben told caseypo that they can't. Then the newsletter mentions "small batch".
If they really have that many customers wanting samples/test weaves and they're picking and choosing the customers for whom they will fill the request, then the selection of customers is what is "strategic" about it.
That's my interpretation. And that's a good position to be in - having more demand than supply. That should make MS expensive for now.
I'd like to see some friggin sales though. If the demand for test weaves is so high that they're selective on who gets samples- and yet there still aren't sales on the record- then the amount they're producing is very small.
Good news is that if Kim is telling the truth, well, I guess I'll give it another quarter. Again, here we are waiting for mass production.
I'm anxious for the CC.
Again, this is my interpretation. If I'm wrong, I'm with you- "strategically" under producing sounds a bit -- not so smart.
I will be happy if:
Vietnam deal is signed and/or a contract is announced.
I will be satisfied if:
There's an explanation of why the deal isn't signed and it also says there's another location in the works. (Plan B)
I'll be pissed if:
"Ramping up". "Any time now". "2016 looking bright"...with no explanation or mention of Vietnam.
Or there's no newsletter at all.
Sad to say, but we've all been trained to be disappointed by Kim.
I'm fully expecting the newsletter to underwhelm and I won't be shocked in the slightest if we don't get one today.
What a nice surprise if Kim exceeds my expectations for once.
Correct. No tax consequence for capital gains in a self directed IRA.
You don’t pay gains taxes on your investment revenue while it’s in the shelter of your IRA, but when you begin receiving distributions, the funds are fully taxable.
The share price is at .03 because the company doesn't turn a profit and very very few people think it ever will.
It's not for any other reason.
Just throwing these things out there as plausible reasons for Kim to stay low key. Not saying it's happening and not saying I like it.
I could easily poke holes in my own logic here. These are just random thoughts.
Doesn't matter. Either way, if someone with deep pockets wants this technology, far cheaper to destroy him than to buy him later.
One other good reason he may have to remain low key is the very deep pockets of those who stand to lose money with his disruptive technology.
If I'm DuPont, why sit there and let this guy get off the ground. He might cause major problems for Kevlar. It would be far cheaper to pay a special interest group or donate to a political campaign to forever stall this guy than to pay a premium when he's off and running. I can buy his technology for peanuts when I bankrupt him.
That's on the paranoid side but that stuff happens every day in every country.
No saying it is happening in this case, but again, it's plausible.
Yes. His skillful words continually fall on deaf ears. That's why we're in the threes and why the value of the average daily volume is about just enough to buy a decent used car.
As far as people on this board go, we've decided there's enough evidence to leave our money here for now. For some, they might be sitting on a big loss and they figure they'll ride it out. Others might look at it like a trip to the casino.
I know Kim remains silent and seems content to appear that he might fail. The only logic to this that I can see is the fact that he's got a GMO. World sentiment is against them right now. People are freaking out about them. Protests all over the world whenever there's a base that gets organized enough to protest.
It really is possible that Kim has to stay low key so that the door isn't slammed in his face before he gets started.
Is that why he's low key? Don't know, but it's plausible. The pot got stirred in Vietnam with the gm corn. The people who were against it are better organized now so Kim has even more reason to lie low.
Could be a pipe dream. It keeps me here though.
You asked. That's my logic. Could be wrong.
I don't think anyone, anywhere is in a hurry to put their money on a stock exchange that calls itself "HOSE".
That's just asking for it. IMHO
(Yes, really. HOSE= Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange)
No. Nothing much new(if anything) in it. That's why I said what I did about a possible media blitz.
It appears to be the start of promoting themselves anew. It's an aggregate of what you need to know about them.
They're courting new business and trying to sort of re-brand. IMO
I'd like to see it get some traction.
But you're right, this goes much longer and I'll be demanding an explanation of what happened to what they said in the newsletter.
I'm guessing that shareholders will go easy on them til early November. Then the voices will get louder and louder the longer we go without an explanation. Share price will respond in kind.
You'll hear me start complaining again if we learn nothing new come November.
Looks like Kraig will attempt some sort of a media blitz this week. If you search for Kraig Biocraft in last 24 hours, you'll see lots of newsletter mentions. (Access Wall Street-among others)
That, along with updating their info on their website yesterday (my previous post), might create some buzz.
Guess we'll see if anyone takes note. Hope so.
Forgot to post the teaser:
The inventor of this technology, Kim Thompson, is the founder and CEO of Kraig. Kraig’s ability to produce spider silk is cost eective, and capable of producing a wide range of proteins and bers and materials. Teams of other scientist around the world have worked on other ways to produce spider silk including using genetically engineered e.coli bacteria. That work is scientically sound, but with production costs that could exceed $100,000 per kilogram, it is dicult to see how these programs could capture a signicant part of the textile market. Kraig is able to produce its genetically engineered spider silks, including Monster Silk™, at less than 1% of that cost.

Great find. Thanks for posting.
Don't know anything about that company specifically but it's nice to hear KBLB by name as a supplier rather than just speaking in general about spider silk.
I don't give a crap what anyone makes out of KBLB silk. I just want them to sell lots of it to anyone who wants to buy it.
Me too. But with Kim's track record, we have cause to be uneasy.
One would hope he'd know this. Wouldn't surprise me though.
If Kim pulls that stunt...
"if Kim stays silent till end of year with no updates or vietnam and no explanation, then put your sell orders in,..."
Then no sell order will save you. This stock is so thinly traded that just a few people on this board selling off on the same day could start such an avalanche that would send this thing one decimal to the left in a flash.
That happens and you're screwed. Might as well go down with the ship at that point.
http://www.mard.gov.vn/Pages/news_detail.aspx?NewsId=42105Prime directive promote agricultural restructuring
Possibly posted before. Not the news we are waiting for but seems to support our cause.

Many localities in implementing the policy of restructuring is not uniform, not aggressive; cognitive restructuring remains slow and inadequate in many areas and sectors; forms of organizing production has been slowly reformed; research and technological transfer of the effective state institutions is not high, the participation of the business is limited ...
I think he meant to say, "I didn't read your entire post and didn't understand the part I DID read so I'm just posting something that has nothing to do with what you posted".
Lol Definitely had a nice spike! I hope it becomes a trend. It's more to my liking to be sure.
I'm very happy that it managed to close up. (Especially since I grabbed some shares at .03)
I still say the world hasn't noticed yet but this is surely the direction I want to be headed.
6 million shares is still peanuts when it's translated into dollars but it's a far cry better than recent volume. I'll take it!
I'll gladly amend my statement when 6 million shares trade shorty after the morning bell.
That's the pattern for every stock with news that isn't.
When there really is big news PRed, we will know it. More than 10x the daily average will trade within 15 minutes of the opening bell.
Trading volume tells us how big the news is. The world still yawns at KBLB...not my opinion, just a fact we are facing.
I agree. The email from Ben to caseypo confirms this I believe.
In response to caseypo question if MS by the ton has yet to be achieved, Ben's reply was, "Yes, I believe that's the case, BUT IT'S BY CHOICE, ..." (Emphasis mine)
That sure makes them sound confident that Vietnam will be a go if they have the ability to produce more but choose not to.
Wasn't me. Caseypo was the one who got the info.
It wasn't the news I wanted but at least it put the metric ton argument to bed. (Or should have).
Well, I take that back. It's possible Ben never said that and that caseypo invented the emails.
I like your reality better anyway.
How did you have this confirmed?
I believe I said there must be somewhat of a stockpile. You must have missed that part.
You can sell things from a stockpile.
I said that I don't believe they have the ability to CONSISTENTLY produce metric tons at the moment because Ben said that would be PRd when it happened. It hasn't been PRd. Therefore they lack the ability to mass produce.
No reason a contract can't be signed beforehand.
Vietnam is where mass production will come from. Til then, slow accumulation.
That's what I suspected. I didn't think Rice could possibly be so foolish as to say that to one shareholder.
I'm still taking Ben at his word and that Kim will PR the ability to produce metric ton quantities when it happens.
And I'm not expecting that to happen until the Vietnam deal.
There must be somewhat of a stockpile, but I can't imagine it could be that large without a full production facility.
No amount of reading between the lines will convince me that KBLB already has the ability to consistently fill metric ton orders.
