Great post! Thanks for doing that. Nice to see it all in bullet format like that!
The call actually went better than I expected. Too bad Ben dropped the call at the end. That sure made it appear second class.
We already knew there were quality control issues at the pilot facility. And we already knew there weren't metric tons. And no production facility means they can't sign contracts so we already knew they wouldn't be announcing that either.
I was happy he directly answered the Vietnam question and I'm more hopeful today than I was yesterday.
My bullish sentiment is higher now after the call rather than before. I guess it pays to have low expectations. The pros/cons laid out by Lebbe favored the pro side imo.
I listened to the June 2011 call and sounds like saying "um/ah" is common for Kim.
Too bad the call was dropped- that sure didn't make anyone happy. Maybe Ben should use a landline next time.
I think my theory that Kim had to host the call because he couldn't postpone any longer was accurate. At least he had enough respect for the shareholders to know he couldn't blow us off again.
Could have been better done but information wise, I'm a bit happier.
There was enough there to stay long and if the price drops on Monday, I will buy more.
If it's "more of the same", then mojo has been right all along and Kim really is an incompetent idiot.
If VN isn't done and/or contracts aren't signed, AND Kim doesn't have the brains to DIRECTLY and UNAMBIGUOUSLY, address both those issues to our satisfaction, it will only take 1-2 of us longs on this board to cause a MAJOR avalanche if we pull out.
Never in my life have I owned a stock whose average daily volume is a fraction of my holdings. I think that's got to be true for most on here. In fact, never in my life had I ever even DREAMED of such a scenario as that. Had someone told me a decade ago that I would one day hold so many shares in a company that single handedly selling my holdings could cause a very noticeable shift in PPS and possibly trigger a sell-off, I'd have assumed that I'd either been a lottery winner or I'd lost my mind and bought a penny stock. Wait...what?
Clear the bar with room to spare? That would sure be nice.
I think he's having the CC only because he couldn't put it off any longer. I think he thought VN would be a done deal by now but it's beyond his control.
It's a good move. He had to host the call this year whether VN was a done deal or not. To have postponed it yet again would have caused a sell-off.
My gut tells me that Kim had no choice but to host this call in order to keep his finger in the dike. I just hope that this works and he's able to convince us that things are progressing and that we have reason to stay long.
..."as I am aware of the level of anticipation for KBLB's event."
I don't see much anticipation at all. No spike in volume that's worth getting excited about. Sentiment on this board seems to be the usual balance between bears and bulls
Most here seem prepared to be completely underwhelmed.
There's not a single article to be found in Vietnamese or English that's even remotely hinting that VN awaits a change in the legal framework for genetically engineered animals as there was while they awaited the legal framework for gm crops.
I hope I'm wrong but I'm expecting to be underwhelmed by an audio version of the newsletter which I expect to be long on window dressing and short on meat and potatoes.
Can't argue with that. Except I WOULD be excited about singing silkworms. Unless they refuse to perform while people are watching like Michigan J Frog.
Oh gotcha. Lol. I had just posted the GAIN report so I thought you were referencing that.
I agree. It could get ugly. You'll have to keep a mental note of my tequila shots during the CC
No clue what that means.
It wasn't done in May. See the GAIN report filed in July of this year. It's the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service annual report on Vietnamese Agricultural Biotechnology. I refer you to page 15. - which references the current state of animal biotechnology for Vietnam.
Chapter 2:
Animal Biotechnology
PART E: PRODUCTION AND TRADE

b) Commercial Production: As there are no regulations in place to govern animal biotechnology, there is no commercial production in Vietnam.
c) Exports: None.
d) Imports: None.
PART F: POLICY a) Regulation: No regulations cover animal biotechnology.
b) Labeling and Traceability: None.

Friday's CC/FAC
Thinking of the CC on Friday as an FAC.
Every time Kim says "ramping up" or "doubling production" I'm doing a tequila shot.
(Just like the old "Hi Bob" days. )
Figure he'll only say that if things are going bad. That way, I'll be lit if we have a bad CC. Who's with me?
KRAIG BIOCRAFT LABS (OTCMKTS:KBLB) Shorted Shares Decreased By 96.52%
http://www.financialmagazin.com/kraig-biocraft-labs-otcmktskblb-shorted-shares-decreased-by-96-52/
I don't see how Decree 118 has any connection whatsoever to implementing regulations on the development of "gm animals and creatures".
Document 10246/BNN-CN halted the gm silkworm project because the legal framework that was in place only covered GM plants, not animals.
Might make life easier for foreign investors but I believe we need it to specifically address gm animals.
Yes, that would be a game changer for sure. BUT, even if that worst case scenario came true, there's still a market for regular silk. And all KBLB would have to do is be the highest quality silk to dominate that market.
Even if the "goo" silk dominated all technical textiles, the man made fibers have never come close to the softness or "silkiness" of silk from the silkworm.
As I understand it, the man made "goo" silk is not soft at all. I think someone said they'd touched it and it was rough and more like a canvas.
KBLB silk is allegedly softer and silkier than regular silk.
So that would leave KBLB with the current silk market and ballistic underwear. That alone would put us in the black.
Obviously the worst case is KBLB going broke before they market anything. I'm just saying that IF they make it to market, then just selling better quality silk could translate into sales in the billions of dollars.
"I would just tell my shareholders things take time. Those that believe in the company would stay and those that don't would leave and when the deal was done those loyal to their shares would get the pay off.
End of story. Business is business.
But that's just me"...
...And Kim apparently. Wow. You can't get more arrogant than that. "If you can't stand the heat..."
No, that's now how a good CEO should treat people. I'm no ubermensch like Kim but I would handle this much differently. The share price and trading volume would be empirical evidence to me that I have a very serious credibility problem. Rather than dismissing the commoners for their inability to understand my greatness, I would do something to help my company and the shareholders in turn. I would recognize that no one believes me anymore and I would start explaining myself before they all abandon ship. I would recognize that I need the shareholders to believe me when I speak. Rather than let them guess and hope that the smart ones figure out what I really mean, I'd try some straight talk - the kind trust is built on. I'd see that writing in ambiguous language only made things worse.
If KBLB has what we're all hoping it has, this conference call better reinforce that. It's crises time. He needs to give some answers before the free fall recommences.
He hired Rice for a reason. Hopefully it's because he understands people and has a more charismatic personality than an intelligent tulip. It's time to listen to Rice's advice and create some buzz. Right now, there's no excitement. Kim might be able to handle the lawyering, but he's an abysmal failure in the leadership department.
Hopefully, someone at this session asked MARD about the transgenic silkworm project. I noticed the session is "ongoing". I'd be curious to know how long they're in session. (Or if I'm understanding what a "session" is...)
Government members grilled about matters of public concern
NOVEMBER 18, 2015
Three Deputy Prime Ministers and 13 ministers were grilled about the issues within their remit during a question-and-answer (Q&A) session of the National Assembly’s ongoing 10th sitting on November 17.
During the session, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) Cao DucPhat made clear on matters relating to agricultural restructuring,...

If anyone doesn't know what 3D printing is:
http://3dprinting.com/what-is-3d-printing/
In its infancy. Many say it's the "next big thing" in manufacturing. I think they're right.
Think they're a 3D printing company. Which, is going to be a huge deal.
That industry is awaiting spider silk.
They can already print with nylon, Kevlar, and etc.
It would have been nice if Kim or a representative had attended because we all would like to have seen him win. However, if the wounded egos of the ITMA judges prevents a company from being nominated, then the award is a sham. If it's not a sham, then being a finalist again is not out of the question.
Wish they'd attended and brought home a trophy, but sometimes you've got more pressing matters at hand than to confer, converse and otherwise hob-nob with your brother wizards.
All shortlisted companies must have at least one representative at the awards ceremony to potentially collect their award or nominate someone to collect the award on their behalf.

Not that we could expect direct answers or anything, but you should submit that post as a question to be answered during the CC. (Regarding the progress of each point you stated)
Doesn't matter. The point is that whether it's a cc or pr it creates hype.
Then people want to buy, which is the point of the pr/cc. Can't buy on the weekend.
I didn't write the opinion. Just posted a link that pertained to a question regarding best time for press release.
We realize that. Someone mentioned that Friday was good because excitement may build over the weekend. Whether a PR or a CC, news is news and it seems the consensus is that news is best published when the market is open.
I don't think it's a huge deal. Possibly just a matter of timing. Considering the avg daily volume of KBLB, news can come out any old time without anyone seeming to care.
Just one sales contract would surely change that I'd imagine.
Maybe. If you're expecting bad news.
The "obvious reasons" apply to good news. Not sure there's any reason to expect bad news just because it's scheduled for a Friday. It was already scheduled for a Friday. No reason to postpone from one Friday to another if you're releasing bad news.
What's the best day to issue a press release?
"I decided to ask some experts about this topic via Twitter and received some helpful responses from the news wires. PRNewswire suggests sending news in the middle of the week and to steer clear of Mondays and Fridays. Business Wire on the other hand suggests early in the day, early in the week for most press releases. readMedia, a social media release start-up, sees little difference in weekdays, but advises against sending releases on weekends for obvious reasons."
http://blog.journalistics.com/2010/the-best-day-to-send-a-press-release/
Good question. You asked:
"If VN was complete then why wait till 4th December? "
If I were Kim and if VN were done, I might go talk to some customers who may have been reluctant to sign a contract before there was a production facility. They might sign now that VN is done. Now I go to conference call with VN news AND announce sales contracts.
Just a thought. But could be a good reason for waiting. OR as someone said, no deal is done but high hopes it will be by 4 DEC.
We still don't know anything new.
I agree.
Unfortunately, we have no idea what the holdup(s) could be.
Even if the provincial and central governments were to give the green light, further delays may follow with implementation.
I don't know how things work in VN, but if this were a western country I'd expect the silk farmers to have a say. Will only corporate farmers get the mutant worms? All of them? Some of them?
Will company A try to block the project because company B stands to profit the most? We have no clue.
My hope is that the groundwork that was laid with the implementation of the gm crops would help expedite the gm insect plan.
I would think the KBLB implementation would happen faster for three reasons:
1. Legal framework for crops already exists.
2. They're going to wear the silk, not eat it.
3. KBLB IS NOT the manufacturer of agent orange.
Also, do we really know the ball is in VN's court right now? How do we know VN isn't waiting for a redraft from KBLB that's written in clearer language. Maybe the draft was ambiguous and has multiple interpretations that they need clarified. Sound familiar? We've all read KBLB's PRs and we are native English speakers. We've debated Kim's language ad nauseam on this message board alone.
We just don't know- because we are told nothing.
Ha. Funny. Good visual.
Let's hope Horton hears a who soon.
Good to know. That might be a good bit of info to allow the investor relations man to relay to the shareholders. You know, since some of us have entrusted Kim with tens of thousands of dollars of our money and all. It would be nice if the CEO showed some respect and/or gratitude to the people who are helping fund him.
Sounds like Rice gets it but Kim still doesn't know enough to at least PRETEND to be working for us.
Wondered that too about Rice needing an exit strategy.
Kim's GOT to explain himself this week. I'm guessing Rice was the brains behind the newsletter so at least one of them has some business sense. Rice has to have clued Kim in on the need to explain a missed deadline to shareholders.
Anyone reached out to Ben this week? An email this morning got no reply.
Just wondering if Ben offered anyone any insight.
Also, I believe I saw in the 10q that the Rice man was only contracted for a year. I wonder if Kim only hired him on a yearly basis because he may sell before then.
Tough to argue with your statement- "If Kim was able to share or communicate any movement this would be a different story."
I assume the readers understand sarcasm when they see it.
Thank you. Just making sure I didn't miss anything.
I'm assuming Friday is a go unless we hear different.
I can't imagine Friday will come and go without a word from Kim.
Finally we agree...
"Therefore, in your opinion and in your eyes my KBLB CEO premise is flawed, but it is not in reality."
Correct. Your premise is not in reality.
I missed the details on how to call in to the CC on the 13th. Could someone please forward them to me. Thanks in advance.
That statement about funding is always on the 10Q so I wouldn't worry about that.
Yes, If a deal isn't cut soon with Vietnam (or anywhere), people will lose more confidence in Kim's ability to deliver.
Even the loyalists are running out of patience. Things are not only coming to a head with Vietnam, but with the shareholders too.
Sizzle won't satisfy anymore. We want steak. It's obvious that the market at large has no confidence in Kim. That's another one of those ugly facts we must face.
I'm not even sure if a Vietnam agreement will help much. It might for a while. We need sales contract announcements to make this thing a winner.
I'm still hopeful, but I'm not blind to what's going on.
If next week comes and goes with no cc and no PR, we might be in for a blue Christmas.
Not complaining and never forgot why I bought tickets. Stating things as they are is not complaining.
If I had serious enough complaints I'd sell. Don't know why telling the truth has to be seen as an attack on KBLB.
I've already averaged down. Original cost basis was .075
Considering buying more. I'm here til I make a boat load or go bust. Good things are brewing I think/hope, but there's no arguing that that's an old refrain.
My point that was missed by Ralph and Potsie, was that they and the other toadies look foolish celebrating in the end zone when their team hasn't scored any points in a while.
We can cite all the rushing & passing yards we want but the scoreboard says three points. The daily trading volume shows that there aren't any fans in the stands.
There's one at least. I don't want to say who it is but he say day, he say day, he say day ay ay o, daylight come and he wan' go home
Yes. I do. I made that clear. Did you miss that part?
