seems like they have a great idea, but after looking at their low budget website with a total lack of scientific as well as financial information, I'm not willing to jump on this one yet.
If anyone has any info on exactly whom is inovlved with this company and their credentials, it would certainly help lend some credibility.
Here's their website:

well, the mild winter kept gas supplies high and prices low, and then they also had an unfavorable environmental ruling in the US which prevented them from going ahead with some drilling they had been counting on. I got wiped out in my call positions.

not a bad set of picks if i do say so myself. :)

While this was nothing spectacular as far as news releases go, I do appreciate the fact that this one spelled out more specifics than previous news releases. Whomever decided to do that should be conratulated.

Total Cash $8,000.87
Account Value: $8,000.87
Well I finally opened a US options account. It was a bit of effort and a bit of paperwork, but the place I opened it at seems to be the best of the bunch for options trading for several reasons. I will post a link to them in the ibox.
Hey Ben,
my girlfriend has to go to Honolulu for a wedding the end of this month and needs a place to stay for 5 days. Any suggestions? She's not looking for anything fancy, maybe a bed and breakfast or something like that. Most of the hotels online seem to be about $150 a night.

Stock contest results for 2006 updated.
http://www.investorshub.com/boards/read_msg.asp?message_id=9503706
So far my 3 picks are all in the top 30. I'm not winning the thing, but for 30 days in my 3 have all moved nicely.
Robert
Thanks. I occassionally find a couple that I think are obvious winners, but I'm not one to tout a stock or even post too much on the boards of the ones I own. I find that it oftens starts to make the trade too emotional and harder to just make it just a trade. Especially when you get excited by the story some of these obscure little companies have on the go.
There's a contest board here at:
http://www.investorshub.com/boards/board.asp?board_id=4945
The results should be updated tonight or tomorrow. I think my 3 picks for the contest after about 5 minutes of DD were:
Ticker Jan 1 --------------Jan 31
PTSC @ 8.6 cents now at 18 cents
PAAS @ 18.83 now at 24.25
CUAQW @ 2.07 now at 2.68
Not so shabby a one month return for 3 wag picks. I like to watch and see who has stock picking skillz, who plays the long shots, and who simply can't pick a winner if their life depended on it.
Robert
Well that's a news release that we should have seen about 3 or 4 months ago, but I guess better late then never is very true in this case. Glad to hear they are still planning on sampling but too bad they aren't in any kind of hurry. At least it explains the front loading buying activity before the newsrelease.
Robert
I know???!!?!?! I seen it move up the end of last year and could find no publicly disclosed reason why. Any ideas?
From what i was able to find nothing had changed at all. Safespending was still just a good idea that was 6 years too late, all the real estate deals and options have lapsed, HP2 is still just a concept with no installation anywhere in the world, not even a working prototype system anymore. The losses grow every year, as does the compensation to board members for consulting and other misc. excuses to sell stock. Makes no obvious sense to me.
All they actually have is a game that failed on the internet and is now on a CD which they have people interested in working with it was ever to meet regulatory approvals which are tougher than slot machine permits. Kim's abilities was the true value of this stock when he was still alive, but now I can't imagine how they plan on succeeding.
I'm sure i will follow this stock forever just given my history with the company and Kim, but I sure don't expect to understand it, lol.

sure seems like something is up. Could just be that they finally got a little investor attention. The little guys are so tough to find but are such good values and easy money.

I am not immediate close to it, but close enough for an afternoon drive. I spent this past week up in the Edmonton/Leduc area which is where DOIG started out.
The weekend I spent in Calgary working on some financing and lad development stuff which was actually kinda fun. I managed to take in a trade show and still get home in time for the Monday morning markets.
I haven't heard anything specific with regards to DOIG, but right now there is so much happening that most people even in the industry are a week behind on news and developments. All of the small players in Alberta are being targetted by larger ones. The big boys are flush with cash and there should be a large number of takeovers happening soon. I've got a few friends in the industry and I really enjoy listening to the morning gossip at the Tim Hortons. Not sure if i'd bet the farm on any of it, but it sure is interesting to hear who is out snooping around the rigs and who has their eye on whos properties for results.
Robert
welcome to Ihub spekulator.

thanks for the article futr.
It's funny to hear the base commander say:
"I have a responsibility to the people of this country and to the environment to find out a little bit more before we make rash decisions and allow people to take measures that will effectively destroy the environment"
I know he has vast responsibilities, but you would think the environment falls outside of his mandated job description.
I've been to that base many times and if it wasn't for all the Brits there learning to drive tanks, perhaps our domestic fuel fuel consumption would drop enough that we don't need to drill more wells. That base consumes huge amounts of fuel.
I get a little upset with a guy who hypocritically doesnt want a rig on the land because he would prefer to chew it up with tank treads or blow it up with live artillery???? Bottomline to his new found opposition is MONEY. He wants more wellhead money paid to the base.
Robert
Please note, all posts which do not pertain specifically to the discussion of Veltex will be deleted at my discretion.
I couldn't care less about the quality of the stock or its management, but I will not let the board turn to SHIT. Discuss the stock or piss off. This personal crap will not continue.
Robert
You really think an anonymous message board in bangledesh with a post relating to a company officer being involved in alleged sexual crimes is grounds for the Securities and Exchange Commission to open a file on an american pink sheet stock?
Your smart. Got any stock picks to share, because anyone with that kind of wisdom just has to be a savvy investor.

I believe this trade set a new historic low for the share price

Lets all go over this once more.
Buy at $1, sell at $1.30, repeat.
This strategy would have worked about 4 times in a row now.
Robert
The only problem I can see with that theory is as follows:
if he wanted to buy shares why would he make any attempt to put out newsreleases regarding ontrack or positive sentiments? These are the actions of someone who wants the share price to increase or at the least stop declining.
If he was sitting on a bunch of cash and wanted to buy shares, I suspect he would put out a newsrelease that was clearly negative and would have a negative effect on share price. It would not even need be specific, just something saying "veltex may not meet earnings expectations" or "recent economic factors are expected to negatively impact recent earnings".
A negative newsrelease with as much fluff and lack of content would still hurt the share price and should be easily recovered from, clarified, or retracted at a later date.
I can't say I really have a better theory of what is going on, but I believe Matin knows his business much better than he knows the stock selling business. As a CEO who tries to wear both hats (pardon the pun) shareholder interests, company interests, and management interests are not always the same. Nor are they always compatible.
I would like to see Matin appoint someone specifically to the board of directors in the position of 'director of capital structure and development'. A position that would focus upon maintaining and increasing market transparancy, shareholder value, and the market cap of the company. This would go a long way to increasing the credibilty and the share price which would in turn benefit everyone involved.
I'm sure Matin would rather the share price was at $2, which should be extremely easy to achieve and maintain. I fear however that his expertise is the garment industry and not capital markets or investment chat rooms.

Warm weather has allowed natural gas inventories to build up to higher than expected levels. I would anticipate that since the 'winter' is coming late this year and will therefore be shorter and the anticipated annual spring decline in natural gas prices will come in april. With those things in mind, it is unlikley Encana will see a significant move due to a 'gas shortage' or any supply related issues in the short term.
I would anticipate the most significant upcoming events to be earnings announcement on Feb 15th which should be great, and some sort of announcement about new properties which have been secured in Alberta gas fields.
Until then I expect sideways action in the shareprice, and a bit of time decay on the options.
Robert
geez, 44% on one day with no news???? if it wasn't illegal you would think there was someone trading on inside information.
I'm going to go check the wire again and see if I missed something.

I think we all have similar old dog stocks sitting on the books that is no longer a gamle or an investment, but more like a tuition or a membership. You can't buy the entertainment that takes place on some of these boards, lol.

That number is posted in the Ibox as the number obtained by a shareholder in September/05. Also the most recent OFFICIAL number published by Delta in a paid pump they tried in spring 05. BUT, I do believe that it is not reflective of the fully diluted share count, only the O/S as of Sept. Without knowing the exact terms of the financing arranged in the summer, if shares/options/warrants were issued as part of it, a more accurate number is not available.
I have spoken with Delta's T/A regarding several different companies in the past couple years and so I am quite familiar with her. I don't care for her personally and think she is amongst the worst possible people/agencies to utilize.
If Delta wanted the true numbers to be known they would have been included in any of the recent prs, the release regarding the financing, or a simple shareholder update on their website. It's not difficult to be transparent unless you have something to conceal.
I accept you believe the O/S is 817,441,452 and also accept that the financing would have been impossible without securing it with additional shares through certs, options, or warrants. Taking those into account I believe the fully diluted shares would conservatively be 1.5 billion.
I wish I was wrong and you were right, but I think the market tends to accept my hypothesis more than your supposition. Perhaps the news release regarding sampling results taken 6 months ago will be more revealing, however I would not hold my breath on that. Let's be honest, over a year to secure relatively small amount of financing, over 6 months and no results from sampling, Rayment stepping down, really makes me doubt that those on the inside have a lot of faith that there are diamonds in the dirt. I've seen people more anxious to dig a potatoe from the ground. The companies lack of enthusiasm contributes to my increasing lack of faith and optimism.
Unless I was on the payroll it would be difficult for me to want to bet the rent money on this one. Ya know what I mean?
Robert
ps. Happy New year to you, good to see you guys are all still here and doing well.
Matt,
nice ad for "Mate 1 dating service" on the homepage with an extremely well endowed lady hanging out of her bra. While I think its the most interesting ad I have ever seen on the site, it is probably one that 5 percent of the membership wouldnt appreciate.

Just a quick update for anyone who discovers this board.
There are only 2 of the old chip Sega's still in operation as far as I have been able to ascertain. Both of these machines are in south america and are in a currency which does not allow one to make a realistic amount of profit to make it worth while to travel there to play them.
The bet60 system will work on these machines and guarantee you a cash flow of 30-50 credits per hour, but the value of those credits is far too low to make it economically viable to play there.
Also note, the number of operating Sega Royal Ascot machines worldwide has dropped considerably as the machines become more problematic as they age and parts and technicians are harder to find. The value of the total machine itself which was once as high as $2 million is now around $60,000.
Perhaps if the machines discover a new market, such as China, they will experience a surge in popularity again.
As of the end of 2005, no known crack for the current generation chip exists.

I am preparing to take my first position the first week of January. At this point I am hoping to take positions for a 2-4 week time frame so as to enable 10 - 12 trades in the year.
Once again, this is the link for the newsletter I will be using as my guide for this experiment:

Well, there was news yesterday about Sony making a settlement. The problem was that it was a settlement with the music industry regarding their malware music cds. Perhaps the rumour was like a game of 'telephone' where the message sort of changes before it reaches the end.

Well I did finally get my check but the story continues. The bank had closed early when i went to deposit it so I put it in through the bank machine. Then when i went to transfer it into my Waterhouse account I discovered all bank machine deposits have a 3 day hold on them. So.......
I got 50k in my gambling account and just can't seem to spend it. I figure I will go catch the races today and invest a few thousand, lol.
