(OTCBB:GTEL) today announced that Sanswire Networks, LLC (Sanswire), its wholly-owned subsidiary, will be holding a partners and technology summit in California on January 20 and 21, 2005. Sanswire has been contacted by the U.S. Army's Space and Missile Defense Command (SMDC) which expressed its desire to be involved in the sharing of technology and information as well as possible involvement in the development of the Stratellite. In addition to the commercial applications being developed by GTEL, the SMDC sees several military intelligence gathering and operational applications for Stratellite-type
systems.
b) PR released in MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 5, 2005--GlobeTel Communications Corp.

"Working closely with our DoD customers to meet critical military and government needs is a key growth strategy for Sanswire", said Bob Jones, President of Sanswire LLC. This classified demonstration will further reinforce the competitive advantages of our technology and our delivery systems and shows our commitment toward providing the United States Government with its product significantly ahead of any other competitor."
I) PR released FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 16, 2005--
GlobeTel Communications Corp. (AMEX:GTE) today announced
that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Sanswire Networks LLC, has
successfully completed its planned demonstration flight of its
military prototype airship. The flight consisted of two military
prototypes of varied size, both of which were flown for the benefit ofa number of approved senior military and national security officials. The flights took place at the Sanswire facility in Palmdale, California, on Nov. 15, 2005.
The design of the military version airship is of a unique and
proprietary nature and has been designed to meet specific requirements of certain military and government needs. These airships complement and share much of the underlying technology of the suite of near-space vehicles currently being developed for commercial applications. The airships flown today have been designated "Sky Dragon." The first flight took place Tuesday morning on November 15th at10:30 am PST and the second flight occurred later in the day. The airships performed exactly as expected, with exceptional results. The controlled-access event was attended by 25 VIPs, U.S. Government guests representing, among others, the U.S. Air Force, Department of
Homeland Security, NASA, the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Army, FEMA, and other distinguished invitees. A number of senior-level decision makers within the government commented that these successful demonstrations represent mature steps in the evolution of Sanswire's overall airship program; and, I could not be more pleased with their enthusiasm. This event marks our commitment in providing performance and capability to our customers as promised."
j) PR released FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 12, 2006 GlobeTel Communications Corp. (AMEX:GTE) reported its results for the quarter ended March 31, 2006. The achievements of Sanswire Networks have generated tremendous interest from both the private and government sectors.
k) PR released FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., May 23, 2006 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- GlobeTel Communications Corp. (GTE), today responded to the series of misrepresentations and malicious distortions which the New York Post portrays as financial journalism, written by SEC critic Christopher Byron, with the following statements from Chairman J. Randolph Dumas and Chief Executive Officer Timothy Huff. Our entire team of former NASA engineers -- along with GlobeTel's managers -- remain very excited about and committed to this technology, along with many of our military and government supporters.
3. The relationship started when the Army contacted Sanswire and it was solidified when we signed a formal agreement with NASA. This writer believes anything that has happened between Globetel and the U.S. government/military is done under the NASA agreement because we have not seen any contracts yet. It is important to note the strong language used in the Oct 11, 2005 and Nov 16, 2005 press releases in relation to customers, meeting needs and requirements. Bottom line is Uncle Sam needs the Stratellite capability and will procure it and procure it soon. I cannot guarantee that it will come from Globetel however unless another company can produce one in the near future, I just don’t know where else it will come from.
4. Now on the commercial side see IHUB post# 4423. It is all about the money. As a fellow shareholder from yesteryear use to say this information comes to you timely, accurate....

he said u can use the service that we will provide with a $10 DECT telephone (there are better ones that cost more but...) and the service could cost as low as $10/month!
if the strat is up and running we have costs of $1 and get $9... not bad HUH?
i find the idea really remarkable...
in europe nearly everybody who uses cordless phones already has a DECT phone because that is the Standard in europe! all u have to do is just keep your phone and throw away your basestation because your basestation is no longer usefull (except if it is to charge your accu) u just use the next HotZone 4010 as basestation... unbelievable
if the vision could only come true... i hope it does :)
oh and maybe nobody talks here about it because it is the TA board? ;)

"ACT AS IF...."
SSA,
We are assuming that we know video would cost significantly more than audio or a conference call. They may all be "expensive". It may not be within the SHM "budget". But as a sales, marketing, advertising tool it could be justified. The problem might not be cost but level of preparedness for it to be "marketable".
multi,
Excellent post.
Although you own/run a software company, I would not expect you to "...write software in all programming languages? ...for all industries?"
I would however expect you not to give me a SHM in DOS only format. Maybe not the best example but we can agree to disagree.
What I like about your post and links is that they show the availability and options out there as well as the drawbacks and/or issues that come with this type of media. Obviously researched or just learned on the job given your industry but very informative either way.
I suppose we are dealing with expectations. I expect that since we are in the sales and marketing cycle now that we take every opportunity to do so and with the utmost level of urgency.
Can anyone give me an example of marketing for the VozBrasil and iligue.com rollout other than the pr? Has anyone living in South Florida or Brazil or have contacts there that could say if they have seen or heard any advertising (tv,radio, billboard, newspaper, webads etc.)? These services ARE up and running.
"As a premiere provider of communication products GlobeTel is changing the global landscape of how people communicate, interact and transact."
AND tell me we can't do a webcast or conference call.
I agree. You have to know who you want to "push voip, magic money, and wimax" to, before you can market it. Branding is o so important. So as much as we all want to see marketing, remember impressions are everything. Let's get it right.
Looking for websites to get information specifically about defense opportunities, solicitations, and contract awards.
Looking for any government organization or agency. DOD, DHS, Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines,AFRL, SBIR, MDA etc. Still compiling the list. If anyone has links please forward to my email address or post a reply.
some examples:

http://www.fedbizopps.gov/
p.s. SSA, I like the way you think.
Mide,
I heard the same info in the webcast and in the interest of sharing information it's great that you or someone can point that out for orlander.
My issue is that the same poster still chooses to complain than make a real effort at research themself.
They could have sent the question in. Didn't matter if an answer to ANY of the questions was known to some....they were ALL submitted anyway :)
BTW you are not the one deciding who's business it is to know what. Yes there will be some things management will not be able to answer for whatever reason however no one knows what that is until they ask it....
Then why didn't YOU ask it? or are you planning on attending the SHM to do so?
SBINet: taken from a collection of recent articles. I will be VERY dissapointed if we are not a part of one of these teams.
SBINet will be a comprehensive surveillance system that will combine sensors and cameras with communications systems to assist agents in maintaining operational control of the borders.
Ericsson’s team, called America’s Border Security Group, includes Computer Sciences Corp., Fluor Corp., Sycoleman Corp. (a division of L-3 Communications Corp.), MTC Technologies Inc., Camber Corp., AEP Networks Inc., Texas A&M University, and the University of Texas at Austin.
Boeing Integrated Defense Systems of St. Louis will team with DRS Surveillance and Reconnaissance Group, Parsippany, N.J.; Kollsman Inc., Merrimack, N.H.; L-3 Government Services Inc., Salt Lake City; Perot Systems Corp., Plano, Texas, and Unisys Global Public Sector of Reston, Va., Boeing said in a news release.
Raytheon has said its team includes Apogen Technologies, Inc., McLean, Va.; BAE Systems, Inc., Rockville, Md.; Bechtel National Inc., Frederick, Md.; Deloitte Consulting LLP, New York; and IBM Corp., Armonk, N.Y.
Northrop Grumman’s partners include systems integrators General Dynamics Corp., Falls Church, Va.; L-3 Communications Titan Group, San Diego; Anteon International Corp., Fairfax, Va.; SRA International Inc., Fairfax, Va.; and BearingPoint Inc., McLean, Va. Also on the team are architecture and engineering firms L. Robert Kimball & Associates of Ebensburg, Pa., and HNTB Corp. of Kansas City.
Lockheed has not announced its team partners.

I hope he won't mind but to quote mide in his email to IR when submitting the list:
"As Mr. Dumas so succinctly put it in his recent address, "...as the new Chairman of GlobeTel, I must confess that I spent more than a year attempting to get my arms around the many technology and business strategy nuances which are really critical to understanding this vibrant, outside-the-box company." Please appreciate that if Mr. Dumas has had a problem "getting it" as an insider, imagine how we outside commoners feel."
While I would agree with you that hopefully there is a way to address many of these questions beforehand, a "solid pr" or "update in the q&a" will not be suffucient. We are establishing the fact that there needs to be more communication about the specifics of when, what, where, who and how GTE is doing. When they review our list we hope they will realize that as well.
Forgive me if this is contrite, but it is the shareholders meeting right? If you are holding any shares of GTE long then you certainly have more interest in the growth of the company and if you read the question list thoroughly, what "additional plans" could be more important?
no confusion pit, I was only pointing out that there is TA and it is definitely usable for swing trading. Just not for you right now given your style of trading.
I wouldn't consider anyone BUYING on news a swing trader. Buying on news is a momentum play, just part of daytrading. Not any TA in that unless you are using daytrade indicators and going off a 5, 15 or hourly chart to help you exit and possibly reenter for another quickie. An exception would be someone buying on a material event (strat breaks high alt. record) and holding for a certain price target.
Many people make the mistake of waiting until news is released and buy at an inflated price. Anyone remember Dec. 05? The sp went from $4 to $2. Then in one day back to $4. What? You didn't buy when it was at $2 on Dec. 30? Why not? Oh yeah wait until news.
If you are going to swing trade, smart money buys before and sells on news so when you say there is no TA I disagree wholeheartedly.
The bottom line is there wasn't enough volume last week to make money DAYTRADING it. Which from your posts I am inferring is the majority of your trading.
I caught the tail end of a news piece over the weekend on some group (maybe students?) doing a small version of an anaerobic digester. Was on a secondary news channel like cnn or msnbc or fox. Anyone else by chance catch it?
2 charts below
I drew my downtrend line a little different than yours frank. Although not "technically" correct, looking at the 6 mo daily this way, the downtrend line broke and a support range has been tested once. Might be trying to see something that isn't there. LOL
On the weekly, wm %r and RSI have crossed out of oversold and other indicators starting a turn. Both charts show resistance in the 1.70 range. Volume decreasing over the 3 wk "uptrend" not good though.
This week will certainly help to paint the picture. What color will we use?
DEADLINE HIGH NOON TODAY to get in your last minute SHM questions!!!!!
jnl.wdc@verizon.net
Holein1 please email me to discuss my comments.
Had a feeling this might happen.
I call this new manager syndrome. So much safer and easier to point out flaws in the efforts of others than to risk making yourself look bad or actually making an effort yourself.
Interestingly enough I have no questions from them....
I would like to reiterate to all that it is a work in progress and we are adding your questions as you send them in so don't worry if yours is not on the posted draft if you sent it to me last pm or today.
We have gotten some great response so far and some excellent questions. Please don't assume that someone else has submitted a question for something you have been pondering!
Spend a few moments to think about what specific information you are really seeking and email it! Most of the questions have nothing to do with the "usual topics" that are posted.
Especially those who consistently post they want more information/transparency from the company (and you know who you are), nows your chance to suggest a way to improve that. You will only have yourself to blame if you don't make the effort.

Lockheed bids for Homeland Defense Deal
and another hmmm....
Lockheed Martin Delivers Secure Border Initiative Proposal
(Source: Lockheed Martin; issued May 30, 2006)
ROCKVILLE, Md. --- Lockheed Martin delivered a proposal today to bid on the Secure Border Initiative program (SBInet). The proposal addresses the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) request for a comprehensive multi-year plan that will enhance the U.S. Customs and Border Protection's (CBP) ability to secure America's borders and reduce illegal immigration.
Lockheed Martin's proposal offers DHS a systems engineering discipline and management approach that addresses the needs of its staff, technology and infrastructure, and provides a process roll-out that can accommodate the more than 11,000 Border Patrol agents, and their growing ranks. The proposal recommends using Customs and Border Patrol's existing systems augmented with new and upgraded capabilities that will provide interoperability with their state and local partner police agencies.
"Lockheed Martin and its teammates bring a wealth of experience deploying mission critical systems for our nation," said Jay Dragone, vice president, Homeland Security Programs. "Our SBInet solution will provide the CBP with enhanced and streamlined capabilities to reduce the number of illegal border crossings into the United States. Our focus is to provide practical and reliable capability that will increase frontline personnel mission effectiveness and also help increase their personal safety and the safety of the border community."
SBInet is a six-year, multi-billion dollar program. The Department of Homeland Security is expected to award the contract in September 2006.
Headquartered in Bethesda, Md., Lockheed Martin employs about 135,000 people worldwide and is principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture, integration and sustainment of advanced technology systems, products and services. The corporation reported 2005 sales of $37.2 billion.
Raytheon bids for Homeland Defense Deal
hmmmmm....
Raytheon's SBInet Proposal Reflects Extensive Border Security Experience
(Source: Raytheon Co.; issued May 30, 2006)
WASHINGTON --- Raytheon Company today submitted its proposal to use its border security experience and systems management expertise to help the Department of Homeland Security secure America's borders by integrating technologies, infrastructure, rapid-response capability and personnel into a comprehensive border protection system.
As the prime contractor, Raytheon would uniquely bring direct, large-scale border management expertise to the Secure Border Initiative net (SBInet) program. In addition to its experience from leading the System for Vigilance of the Amazon program (SIVAM), which is comparable in scope and complexity to the SBInet, Raytheon has led border protection efforts in the Ukraine and Middle East and is leading a similar effort to secure the borders of New York City's four major airports.
"The Raytheon team has the right combination of proven border security capability, demonstrated experience managing programs of similar complexity, and teammates that lead in their respective fields of expertise," said Gene Blackwell, Raytheon vice president of Raytheon Rapid Initiatives Group, who is leading Raytheon's SBInet effort.
"We look forward to using our experience to help Customs and Border Protection address this pressing national issue. We've been studying the border enforcement problem for the last two years," said Blackwell, "and we feel confident that we understand the challenges and have the best solution."
Raytheon leads a team of top tier providers and small businesses. Raytheon's core team consists of:
-- Apogen Technologies, Inc., McLean, Va.;
-- BAE Systems, Inc., Rockville, Md.;
-- Bechtel National, Inc., Frederick, Md;
-- Deloitte Consulting LLP, New York; and
-- IBM, Armonk, N.Y.
SIVAM is the world's largest fully integrated environmental and law enforcement remote monitoring system. Raytheon successfully delivered the $1.4 billion surveillance system in partnership with the Brazilian government. The system, which became operational in 2002, is geographically dispersed over 2 million square miles, an area equivalent to 70 percent of the continental United States. It includes a vast array of ground, air, and space-based sensors in extremely remote areas that are networked into regional and national coordination centers.
Raytheon, with 30 major subcontractors, successfully executed the program from concept through procurement, installation, integration, acceptance test and logistical support.
Raytheon Company, with 2005 sales of $21.9 billion, is an industry leader in defense and government electronics, space, information technology, technical services, and business and special mission aircraft. With headquarters in Waltham, Mass., Raytheon employs 80,000 people worldwide.
Serious1,
No biggie. From the board header:
• Keep your posts on topic and GTE related, discussion of fundamentals belong on our other GTE board, this would include most analysis of Press Releases if they are discussed here it should include how , what and why it will effect price movement or charts
Everyone appreciates posting of news articles. Just relate it to our board otherwise post it on the main board.
Yes, unfortunately it's our culture. I see America doing the same thing. A black hole consuming everything with no regard that eventually there may not be anything left to consume but itself.
And on a ligter GTE related note:

mcdorj,
Well said! And a very realistic viewpoint for any GTE shareholder!
To address the overarching subject of governance, this part of your post is key:
"We have an ongoing and expanding SEC debate as well as a Congressional forum on this very subject that will hopefully result in fairer relationships between investors and corporate governess."
Not to be cynical but I will believe it when I see it, not only between corporations and investors, but on the front lines. I apologize for beating a dead horse but just one example would be actually implementing and enforcing effective regulation against naked shorting.
I fear the outsiders will continue to be looking in for a long time....exactly why, with the exception of GTE, I no longer invest/trade in equities. But thats another post for another forum.
Just waiting on the confirm url email. I'll let you know if I have any issues. Thanks for the help.
Hey guys....Where is the link on the forexclub website for the live chat? Some buddies and I will be hooking up through Skype to discuss business so I am getting a headset. I thought I would get in on the live chat when I can.
Well so much for descending triangle but there is still a line of resistance at 1.2860 for daily closing price. If we see a close above that line tomorrow it could become support for the next move up. chart below
Re: list of questions for SHM
Email your questions to me and I will compile them and forward to mide who is going to give them to IR. Only a couple of posters have done so thus far. I am actually surprised by the lack of interest, given what I consider to be the higher intellects posting on this board as opposed to other forums. I guess it's easier to cry when you are hungry and be spoon fed if someone else will feed you, than to forage on your own. I'm hoping most are just still formulating them, as am I, and will send them soon. Giving GTE 2 wks to prepare the answers means basically getting them to me after this weekend into early next week deadline.
Re: Sales Force
I hope they have already done so. Hiring is expensive but a necessary cost if you want sales and profit. The higher level execs have probably been doing the sales presentations of our emerging business units like the wireless division (obviously to foreign governments like Columbia, Russia etc.) which is good but limiting. As I said, let's get some hits. Heck I'll take a bunt but let's get on base!
Yes, Exactly! More and more cities are doing it....and I don't know if/why we aren't bidding on these RFP's! Seems right up HotZone's wheelhouse.
We should get some people on base first, so when we hit a home run, it's a grand slam....
What is the extent of our sales force and is the company hiring sales positions for each of it's units that have proven tech? Would make for a good question at the shareholder meeting eh?
thanks mr_schnizzle....that is along the lines of what I was looking for. Now I will spend some time to digest and follow up on the info you gave me. I do appreciate the time you spent explaining what may be simple to you given your expertise in the area. I hope you won't mind a few more questions once I am able to put the pieces together.
DonG,
The pdf doc that craig linked on his post is very informative. GTE can provide nationwide coverage with sufficient numbers of strats but even with the Strats, it appears they will still need to utilize HotZone or some other technology to get from the strat to the end user.
multi and craigba,
Thanks for the input. While I do have an idea of the markets Hotzone will apply to, I'm still trying to get who the real "end users" will be.
I guess what I really want to know is this:
If I, as a retail consumer, want to access the internet on my laptop, while on a driving trip from home to work or say from one metro area to another like you could with the pcmcia, or a cell phone, does anything GTE offers do that for me? To me the greatest asset of wireless is just that....mobility. That's what I envisioned the stratellite would enable.
Wireless cellphone companies are offering broadband access not only on phones but through the pcmcia cards on your laptop as well. I did not think that application of the card was old technology but I may be wrong.
multi- yes wifi is built into MB's but aren't you limited to being within range of a wifi network? With Wimax the coverage area is expanded I know but still limited to a specific radius?
When I first researched GTE and the Stratellite's potential, I immediately envisioned "mobile broadband". Anyone care to discuss how our Super Hubs and Hotzone products will compete against this PCMCIA niche of mobile broadband technology?
