I wouldn't consider anyone BUYING on news a swing trader. Buying on news is a momentum play, just part of daytrading. Not any TA in that unless you are using daytrade indicators and going off a 5, 15 or hourly chart to help you exit and possibly reenter for another quickie. An exception would be someone buying on a material event (strat breaks high alt. record) and holding for a certain price target.

Many people make the mistake of waiting until news is released and buy at an inflated price. Anyone remember Dec. 05? The sp went from $4 to $2. Then in one day back to $4. What? You didn't buy when it was at $2 on Dec. 30? Why not? Oh yeah wait until news.

If you are going to swing trade, smart money buys before and sells on news so when you say there is no TA I disagree wholeheartedly.

The bottom line is there wasn't enough volume last week to make money DAYTRADING it. Which from your posts I am inferring is the majority of your trading.
