I have to say the idea of an "all hands" sales meeting in California last week is a complete head scratcher.
They just spent the back half of Q4 with all these folks in training to sell a single drug. What in the world would you need to say or explain in a group setting that's so important you incur the T&E expense and lost work time to fly 400+ people to a single meeting? I'm at a complete loss to understand that.
As for the General Counsel dumping a million shares? Are you kidding me? They are his shares and he's free to sell them but Good Lord that's not a good look to the shareholders as you are going thru the growing pains ramping up sales efforts.
I've been leaning toward the GIA opportunity and think like Biotech Billionaire on the opportunity, but maybe these guys are simply not ready for prime time and not ready for the challenge in front of them and a B/O would be better.
We definitely as the owners of the company should expect execution on scripts that for the next 2 years should NEVER have a down week much less right out of the gate of training 250 new reps added to the current experienced 150 in the first month. That's a bad look and brings management of those teams and their strategy into question.
I'd like to put Citi and HC Wainwright in a steel cage death match on pay per view only available to current AMRN investors long and short. I'd get beyond rich.
I could not agree more!
The agency is expected to halt its review of prescription drug applications around the first week of February.
Our sNDA for Vascepa and the FDA furloughing employees is ON TOPIC!
https://www.raps.org/news-and-articles/news-articles/2019/1/more-fda-furloughs-expected-gottlieb-warns
I'm not so sure... Would the settlement with TEVA to enter the market in late 2029 still be applicable? If yes, than running the study without a mutual agreement with TEVA makes no sense to me regardless of the potential outcome, which is a real shame.
ilovetech,
My expectation is not that it will take two years. Yes to get the 30X today's PPS would take 6 or 7 years, but to get the double we could get in a quick buyout? We could get that by this fall anyway.
If Vascepa script numbers continue to hockey stick and I believe they will, then with the sNDA, and priority review means we are looking at label expansion by maybe August? I think the PPS could easily be in the $30s. Why would I sell now for $36?
Do I wait all 7 years? No maybe not, but the Go Alone proposition is becoming much more desirable for everyone,,, except BP.
Hey Dude,,,, Or Dudette,,, I did not say it did not matter. I said tell me why?
What's the actual case? Where is the link between AF's cousin/brother/uncle or whatever and some reason to question how a AMRN shareholder has suffered harm?
The Adcom debacle was not AF's fault.
And again, AF has been more than supportive since the Reduce IT results as has many others presented with facts. And yet,,, We are only at $17?
This seems to be a bunch of conspiracy nonsense. Unless,,,, You can make and actual case? Which I'm starting to see you can't.
Yeah, I think that's weak sauce and simply opinion. Look I fully admit I was not here so I don't know what piece you are talking about, but AF is a professional stirrer of the biotech pot. He is not capable of really moving any PPS or else we'd easily be in the mid $20s on his positive remarks and nominating JT as CEO of the year or the feedback that JT was impressing everyone at JPM19.
There is only one thing that moves stock. Money... And Vascepa is about to deliver it in truck loads.
This nonsense about chasing down leads of a journalist's cousin in Putin'esque if not pure comedy.
Why would it matter if AF's cousin etc, worked for anyone? And for what it's worth, AF has seemed supportive of JT making him a CEO of the year nominee, and saying Vascepa is a worthy buyout target.
So what's the rub?
Thanks for the updates BB.
I say NO to any buyout. I say let's build a company and use the wave of cash that is coming to acquire additional late stage asset(s).
With no current debt beyond the royalty which will end as sales ramp there is a tidal wave of cash coming even at what I think are modest sales projections.
Over the next 6 years between dividends, share buybacks, and strategic acquisitions, current holders could see a 30X increase on their investment.
I say NO NO NO, to a quick double.
Hello Doc,
Thank you for sharing on this board. I'm a big fan.
I'm currently on Vascepa and I may be uninformed but I don't know how they could get the 4 grams I take down into a single does much less combine it with my Atorvastatin.
The 4 pills a day really are not any trouble but a single does would be more convenient.
Do you see that as possible near term?
I'm just saying I take 4 Vascepa pills a day. Not 1. So for a combo pill with a statin you have the issue of how to consolidate the EPA dose for 4 pills to 1 before you even get to the statin.
I'm not saying it cant be done but it seems to me taking the pills that it's not as easy as the folks here think just saying combo pill being a big value creator.
On the idea of a combo pill. I just took my morning dose of Vascepa. 2 pills. And they about the size of a gel vitamin. There will be 2 more pills tonight at dinner.
Not sure how you could get all this down into 1 pill that is also combined with a statin.
The current size and amount if pills is very minimally annoying. I dont think it's an obstacle to sales just saying reducing it all down may be a pipedream.
Idk the answer but I can speak on how a quality premise rep is trained.
With a new rep in a territory you always start with the true believers in whatever product you are training them to sell.
It's safe battling practice.
The new rep should come away with a wow these guys get it feeling and seeing the level of interest that they can then convey to true new introductions.
This is standard practice in training any type of premise rep.
Hopefully, your family member will help the reps development by speaking positively and passing on personal experience the rep can store in their memory and share without names as 3rd party story/testimonial about the uptake and success.
Now none of what I just said may be the case here but that is the way to train new reps.
I tried and tried and tried to tell folks Pascoe was taking them to the cleaner and my thanks was to be made into.yhe bad guy.
Lot's of folks rode that all the way down.
I did lose some money on APRI from my initial position but sold it long before the collapse and even made back most shorting it.
And I stop by that board occasionally and I'm in awe that some of the same folks are still there. Good Lord some people wont take a beating for an answer.
2 months on drug now and I have noticed a significant reduction in muscle aches in my legs at the end of the day. Nothing else in my lifestyle has changed. I'm on 20 mg Atorvastatin too.
Everyone is going to attend. Don't let the nonsense get to you. They have a drug in Vascepa that's going to be taken eventually by millions upon millions of people.
BP is not going to let this slip away. This thing is getting B/O and soon.
"I'd get on the compensation committee and tie their compensation to the price of the stock."
Let me give you some names,,, Enron, Worldcom, Theranos...
You NEVER want executives managing your company, and yes as shareholders its yours and mine, who's compensation is tied to a stock price vs. measurable achievements.
That's not appropriate for announcing being at JPM19. They do not need to act like cheap penny stock pumpers. The PR was perfect.
Tasty,
JT and the entire team have held this thing together when the PPS was $2 and folks were screaming for them to dissolve the company to create immediate value.
They have earned the right to make the decisions as they see fit.
I typically hate management teams, and especially biotech management teams who as a general rule see shareholders as their source of wealth not building value thru assets.
JT and the board are excellent. They are going to win. PERIOD...
I also hate GIA as a rule too.... However, in this instance it does not give me nightmares or anything of the sort. It's not my preference, but I believe the opportunity is so self evident that they just might be better off going that way.
It's clear to me they knew precisely what they were and now are doing from AHA thru the secondary. The short advertising and speaking blitz to maximize the PPS and get the cash needed to give them time and options. Brilliant really...
I trust them. It's not their 1st rodeo. I honestly believe a B/O is coming around $35 but left alone? JT has the talent to make this a $100 billion company thru success of Vascepa and acquisitions in a short few years.
TastyTheElf,
JT told us what the BB think. At least that's how I took it when he said he had heard from certain shareholders that they felt a patient approach to Europe waiting for now made more sense.
They are certainly patient but it seems to me that all they need to do now is focus on the sNDA and the rest will come to them if it's not already.
We could wake up next Wednesday to being owned by AMGN or simply carry on for 6 months toward the approval which I think is a given that it will be accelerated by FDA.
The daily PPS serves only to frustrate or titillate but I would not sell at $25 or $12 so it's best just to ignore the feelings while monitoring it in both directions.
They do not have the resources to maintain a sustained advertising blitz along with sales rep increases and all their other needs.
This is not to say they don't have ample resources in general. They do.
Mass promotion of a drug that insurance won't yet cover without the FDA expanded label does not make sense.
The reality is $13 is where we need to be.
If we were trading at say $26 what are the odds JT could muster the votes needed for a buyout at $32?
How about trading at $12.91 the PPS as I type.
This company will get B/O and the current PPS may be frustrating to many holders but IMO it's a necessity at the moment to get the deal done.
Spot on. 100% correct. This is the Trump effect today.
VOTE NO.
The only thing you are doing with a yes vote is giving Pascoe 18 more months of salary and bonuses as a parting gift.
Why reward Pascoe? He's willing to beg you on a call. I'd take him up on that if I were you just to waste his time.
Reading between the lines of the Jeffries note.
Hey JT, sell your company and do it at about $34. Why?
GIA is nonsense.
"IF" you GIA you assume all the risk even in a de-risked environment and if you fail to hit sales targets, or the FDA delays in anyway you take a hit and "IF" you do really well and get everything to come up roses which is probable the stock is going to between $30 and $40.
What's the point of not transferring the risk off your shareholders on to the buyer for basically the same money?
Just saying... Can we line you up a couple of offers now?
We will have a weekly catalyst in the form of RX numbers.
I agree with you for the most part but given the weekly RX numbers I see this now as a slow grind upward, not sideways, and too risky to be out of or to trade as lightning could strike it at any moment or take 6 months for a B/O.
I'm not a CPA, but the 25% Tax line you have will not come into play for a long time as AMRN has years of losses to apply against it.
How's it hanging APRILOV?
Don't be mad at me...
You of all people know I told you this day was coming.
I told you over and over how Pascoe was simply milking out a check and that this would end only when Pascoe had milked every last cent from the shareholders.
You are welcome.
It's URGENT!! That they raise money at any cost. Add warrants, do whatever is needed.
We must preserve the company so Pascoe keeps getting paid and the long term holders can continue to layout recovery scenarios.
With a willingness to offer shares at any PPS and add a mountain of warrants to allow risk free shorting to zero we can keep this going another 12 months.
Sell it at any price. It's going to zero.
Maybe Seth was too busy judging the contest entries of the proposed JV name to actually get it signed.
Bwahahahaha
My personal guess? LTBR lacks the cash to "buy" the services from Arvea which is all the JV really is.
SCAM ALERT!!!
"Contemplated Inc.",,, Or "JV of One",,, Or "Dilution of U, Inc."
Naming Contest? Why not a "Win a dream vacation with Seth" contest? Is this a joke?
What kind of garbage small time game is this?
They are playing to folks who must have almost no investment experience or knowledge.
Here's a name for ya,,, Scam Fantasy Fuels. Add the slogan, "they're the best because we never build them".
Think that's bad? Hahaha
They pay Ms. Linda Joan Zwobota CPA, CIA $245k a year to keep the books on a company with an $11 million market cap and no revenues...
WTF does she actually do all day? You sign off on the payroll once a month then what?
Maybe Michael Flynn and Trump were texting Seth from the inauguration platform about building nuclear plants in the middle east? Bwahahaha
Seth would actually be a perfect fit in that administration that will lie as a first choice.
Pure GARBAGE!!!
Want to know what Seth thinks you will see in 2013? Keep in mind this is before the reverse split 10/1... Bwahahaha
RedChip promotes Scams... Do yourself a favor and do a youtube search for their nonsense and look at the returns of LTBR over the last 5 years of fake interviews given to RedChip.
Do you really think?
So a patent for a nuclear fuel source that in theory would burn cooler creating better safety, and still provide 30% more energy than today's fuel while costing less? My God,,, You'll believe anything...
Look at the market cap!! You could buy this entire company for the cost of about 2 decent McDonald's franchises and if you wait it's going to get cheaper, a lot cheaper...
Why?
Because it's a SCAM!!!!
Don't you think if the patent was worth anything really smart people involved in Energy science all over the world would be buying it? It's not worth using as toilet paper.
That's why their conference calls are a party line. It's like a group in a boiler room, trying to one up each other in their ability to double speak to a bunch of investors with ZERO science or business knowledge.
It's a SCAM... Nothing more than a SCAM. Seth and his band of enablers only want to keep it going for their own paycheck, because when it's finally over nobody is going to hire them .
You are mistaken... This company is 100% SCAM!
Look, the latest in this decade long scam, is the "contemplated" JV.
It's not a real JV. LTBR is "BUYING" work from Areva for $3 million dollars and giving Areva 50% of any new findings derived from that work as well as a % on all potential revenue from the patent itself.
Get it????
Areva has ZERO interest in this company or it's worthless 20 year old Siemens study on the theory of it's fuel, which is based on a fantasy.
But they will gladly take the $3 million dollars and half the assets for what amounts to nothing.
