If we hit $20 a share, I’ll put on my tuxedo, grab a top hat and cane, and sing Puttin’ on the Ritz while you eat your dragon crisps.
Of course you must be right. The Air Force published a report in 2021 that they couldn’t produce a silk fiber. They could make soup but no fiber. Just like bolt , just like Spiber, and all the other soup kitchens admit.
So they had no clue who may crawl out of the woodwork when they sent out the mandatory RFI (whether they have someone in mind or not), and Kim answered the call!
I can’t believe out of the 340 million people in this country that they were unaware of someone in the spider silk biz. Especially since SDSU had spoken to Randy Lewis even!
Well, I guess you’ll have to make a different point here because no matter how it happened, they found the only guy who can do it!
That’s got to be a relief because I know you’re just looking out for people!!
lol
Okay… so they went to Kim AND other people and asked what help they can offer. And looks like no one has heard a thing.
Great news for you then!! Because Kim is about to start filling orders!
And from the sound of it, unless they want some mushroom soup from Bolt soup kitchen, Kim is the only one able produce a fiber!!
It is? You need to report this lie to the proper authorities!!!
https://www.kraiglabs.com/kraig-biocraft-laboratories-preparing-response-to-u-s-department-of-defense-request-for-information-on-domestic-biomanufacturing-of-spider-silk/
lol wonder if he’s at the Hanoi Hilton
I should point out a few things about that article on the biodegradable plastics…
1. Notice the year is 2019
2. Location is San Diego State University
SDSU is where they are facilitating the AFRL spider silk research!! And the AFRL (Air Force) went to Kim last year to see what Kraig labs has. (See the link I posted last night that was yawned at)
Why? Because the AFRL filed a technical report in 2021 that they had the gene sequences but COULD’NT make spider silk in the lab!
Sure sounds like it. Maybe they are back next week or not. I thought they’d be back already.
I wonder if there is anything to make of saying “Southeast Asia” instead of Vietnam.
Singapore as well I’d guess.
The biodegradable plastics could be what has the biggest impact. If they can make a plastic that is biodegradable out of spider silk, manufacturers would tripping over themselves to be bragging about that.
https://blog.nature.org/2019/01/15/could-spider-silk-become-a-natural-replacement-for-plastic/
“ On the upside this could be fantastic news for the environment.”
No doubt about that!!
Seems to be a filler PR and a way to remind us that he mentioned bio-plastics in the January 22nd PR. I think today was a reminder what else spider silk is good for:
“As production quantities increase, the Company expects to begin addressing demand from additional market segments, including:
• Engineering textiles
• Composites
• Cosmetics
• Defensive and protective textiles
• BIO-PLASTICS THAT ARE BIODEGRADABLE AND BIO-COMPATIBLE
• Fiber optics
• Medical textiles, fibers, ligaments, wound dressings, skin grafts, and tissue engineering”
I didn’t imply anything. The point is to remind people of how much closer we are to realizing these goals. If you prefer to drown in your sorrows until you have 100% certainty, be my guest. I believe the biggest “YAWN” is reading posts from the crybabies. I’d rather read Web’s posts.
The pouting is way too old.
I suggest everyone reread this letter to shareholders with fresh eyes in light of where KBL is at the moment compared to when it was written.
https://www.kraiglabs.com/letter-to-shareholders-from-kraig-labs-ceo-kim-thompson-3/
Everyone knows that. Why drop the mic?
Here’s a FACT many don’t know…
Goat boy went bust. Then had a hand in Kraig Labs success. Then he convinced the big money that the silkworm idea would never work forcing Kim to get his startup money on the street.
Kraig is about to launch and Goat boy has now admitted the silkworms were a good idea and is trying it on his own.
Holy crap what a weasel. Well, he’s way behind Kim. And no doubt Kim can’t wait to rub Goat boy’s face in it.
Was just discussing this with W2R. We don’t know why the all the fuss over tek holding.
They were the only one considered for last year’s grant. There was no competition or RFI. And it was to TEST, it was NOT to produce. They may very well be tasked with testing what KBLB is producing. We don’t know one way or the other.
I don’t see the bogeyman.
“This applies to items that are NOT mined, produced, or manufactured in the US and are in sufficient and reasonably available commercial quantities and of a satisfactory quality.”
See the word “NOT”? Somehow you missed it.
You think this says “we can buy things from other countries if we can’t get it here, but not if that country has a lot of it”.
Okay. Great thinking.
The claim was that the US can’t buy DS because it’s not manufactured here. I proved with 100% certainty that was a lie. So your comments about 2025 have no bearing on the discussion.
It’s Holy Week. I guess we’ll be hearing from you a lot. Gotta pretend you’re praying in your office.
Interesting. Does it happen to say anywhere if they would consider a company that squandered 397 million dollars and produced exactly zero spider silk, lost their funding, and is now walking the streets looking for money?
Or are they looking for a company on its way up that has always been underfunded and HAS actually produced the exact thing the government is looking for?
Not true.
There are loads of exceptions. Most likely one used would be the Nonavailability exception…
“This applies to items that are not mined, produced, or manufactured in the US and are in sufficient and reasonably available commercial quantities and of a satisfactory quality. (48 C.F.R. § 25.103(b).)”
The USA government expressly said they want spider silk. No one has made it besides Kraig Labs… an American owned company. They will buy what they want.
No. If they didn’t try, they only lied.
If they tried and failed, that’s not a lie.
They’re mutually exclusive. You have to pick. Can’t both be true.
That’s impressive. Not even God can violate the law of non-contradiction!!!
Kim is amazing!!
Which is it? Did they fail or just lie about trying?
They can’t have done both.
So did they fail at production multiple times or were they just lying and not even trying? You’ve got to pick one.
If you’re lying about trying then you never failed. If you’re trying and failing then you never lied.
Wow! Who knew? And here I thought Kraig was genetically modifying silkworms with spider DNA to make silk equal to or better than native dragline spider silk.
I guess that means you’re selling out and going away. I think that’s wise.
I heard Netflix has a contract for another season of Love on the Spectrum. I think with your free time you should audition.
“ Their investors are backing them all the way, including voting on the IPO.”
Of course they are! They are jumping ship! That’s how the scam works!
A few million yes. Hundreds of millions? No. They’re pissed. I know some of these guys. These are career ending amounts for the person/team that created this mess.
People are losing jobs over these amounts.
No chance the genius who green lit the 397 million who’s now scrambling for just 10% of their money back still has a job.
“going public is how VC get their money back and rake in the big profits... “
It’s an obvious money grab. I know Web and I are on the opposite sides of the KBLB issue, but no doubt he will see through the attempt to screw the little guy and will relentlessly attack Bolt on an hourly basis, for years on end, just to look out for the little guy!!
You don’t get to witness a more obvious desire to bolt on Bolt than with this offering. 397 million market cap and now Forbes has them at only 250 million …and they will only raise 35 million with the offering. Holy crap!!! That CAN’T be good for the Bolt bag holders!!
You mean they aren't even pretending to be in the spider silk biz anymore?
I don't know if you're a history buff or not, but did you know that both Bolt & Spiber got private equity to fund them in pursuit of spider silk? And both companies have lost their funding and are being forced to get money from other sources? Their investors have to be PISSED!
Did you know that BOLT LOST 394 million dollars, their investors pulled the rug out from under them, and now they’re going to the streets begging for money?
Oh… and they aren’t even trying for spider silk anymore!!!
Their investors never got what they asked for in the first place!! I know how that irks you because Kraig labs wasn’t able to give the army shoot packs. But at least they made spider silk!
Bolt gave their investors some delicious mushroom leather! LMAO
Those shoot panels are spider silk at least! Holy crap. No wonder the investors pulled the rug out from under Bolt!!! Talk about douchebag CEOs!
"Or they're the dumbest investors alive! I'll go with the deliberate intentions."
I disagree. I say they're the dumbest investors alive. You'd be surprised how many people don't really know that you only go public in order to get money. That means that the investment bankers, VCs, and Rich Uncle Pennybags no longer believe in you (if they ever did).
This is probably a good time to remind everyone that top scientist in the spider silk game backstabbed Kim and said the silkworm thing will never work. And would you believe that douchebag scientist is now attempting the same thing after keeping private equity from investing in KBLB?
Don’t know if you heard this but, did you know that both Bolt and Spiber’s investors pulled the plug on coughing up more money for their not spider silk?
True story. Bolt begging from retail market. Their market cap dropped by 150 million. Yikes!!
Spiber had to dilute shares and give them to a paint manufacturer in order to avoid Bolt’s humiliation. We’ll see if that works.
P&L something new to you?
You invest 397 million in something and get 3 million back… is that a profit?
You need more capital and your investors tell you to pound sand. Is that telling you they’re successful?

Kim isn’t waiting for the time clock to retire. He’ll retire when his mission is accomplished.
“ if Kim ever misses his weekly pr I hate
to see where we would be. “
We’d be fine. The anemic volume means the longs aren’t selling. We are holding as the narrative of production and spring trials plays out.
This is funny…
“ huge investment companies that literally have 1,000s of employees and know exactly what is going on in the industry.”
Really? lol Why do 80% of them lose to the market average every year?
Those experts aren’t hunting for the diamonds in the rough. They are just trying to beat the S&P and most fail year after year after year…all while collecting huge management fees. And pretending to their investors that their shitty 5 mutual funds they have to choose from are their only options they have in their retirement accounts.
The “armchair investors” can just throw their money on the S&P index and beat the pros 80% of the time. lol
“if changing protocols made such a significant difference that the old DS became viable, then Bam1 should kick some serious butt....”
My thoughts exactly
““at first i thought he might have meant OUR Vietnam silk production...but really, thats not what he said...he clearly said they intend to work together to EXPAND Vietnam’s silk production......also:
"We have been working with various governmental ministries, agencies, and departments for an extended period of time in order to demonstrate our silk production technology and to tailor that technology to the local environment,”...
to me this means the Vietnamese have seen what kblb is capable of and that Vietnam is going all in with kblb...””
Makes me think the challenge testing of the immunity worms was a success. Could certainly be why Vietnam is suddenly all in with KBLB
“What a week to come.”
Agreed. Was half expecting last week but we’ll see. The next month should answer a lot of questions.
I expect a production update by end of March. And new announcements with governmental and corporate entities as well.
“Isn't it all newer ds?”
I think in the sense that it’s been evolving all along. So it’s the “old DS” in the December photo. The way I understood it was this was the same DS that had the successful pilot run in spring of 2022 only to fail due to robustness issue in July/August 2022. Who knows. Could be one of the new strains that wasn’t homozygous just yet.
It’s my understanding that the Indian expert improved protocols that facilitated higher yields which made it more producible in spite of the new hybrid not being ready for prime time just yet.
Now we’ve got Bam1 DS colony growing and waiting to supplant the “old DS “
And when the 4 strain hybrid is done in early 25, I expect it to supplant Bam1 DS with son of bambam DS
I LOVE THIS!!
88,000 legal businesses registered at this address and you found just this one? and you claim that makes KBLB a scam? lol counting on no one reading it? The Wyoming AG doesn’t agree.
“The building at 30 N. Gould St. is one of the most popular registered agent addresses in the state, according to the Wyoming Secretary of State’s Office. A public records request filed with the Wyoming Secretary of State revealed approximately 88,000 businesses listing a physical address, mailing address or both as 30 N. Gould St. in Sheridan…
Besides, Kinskey said, illegitimate enterprises will exist regardless of the Legislature’s actions. Bad guys exist whether we have flexible LLC laws or not…” Kinskey said. “Our laws don’t create bad people.”
https://www.thesheridanpress.com/news/local/victims-continue-coming-out-of-legal-llc-process/article_269e34d2-4c95-11ec-9307-c756630c0896.html
I say let’s get all the PETA people we can to protest outside Kraig Labs in Michigan! That would be the greatest publicity we’ve ever had.
“ We're down to now fretting over the life of a silkworm, …?”
Ah yes. The appeal to the foolish who anthropomorphize the silkworm as if it had the same value as man. What DO they teach in bible school these days?
The silkworm doesn’t know it exists now, that it once didn’t, and won’t again in the future. Wake me up when a silkworm constructs a shrine honoring the greatest silkworms in history. Or constructs a cocoon in a gothic style. Maybe then we’ll entertain the thought that we should care about the boiling of silkworms.
It’s not his fault. They don’t teach finance or economics in bible school. This is why Kim punted him out.
No one who spent one day in the business college would mistake the dilution of shares with a paint manufacturer as anything other than the walls crashing in.
Imagine Spiber’s conversation with their financiers…
Investors…“we gave you 400 million to make spider silk. You failed! We need our money back. Exactly WTF CAN you make?”
Spiber…“Ummmm maybe we could put some soup in some paint and make it stronger but we need more money!!”
Investors…“You can kiss our asses. Go dilute our shares if you have to and find some paint company who will try it because we aren’t giving you one more dime!!!!“
Sounds like they are one step behind Bolt!
And newsflash… they didn’t get funded with private equity and piss it away. They had no choice.
Bolt squandered 397 million and now has publicly announced their failure.
If Spiber follows suit, then they and Bolt are at the beginning of their death spirals.
KBLB on the way up as the companies with all the cash are crashing and burning. Will only get worse as Kraig labs continues their upward trajectory.
“If any of KBLB'S "COMPETITORS" (according to their website) goes public on one of the MAJOR EXCHANGES, it will take attention away (to a certain point anyway) from Kim & company. “
If any go public it will be humiliating for them. Do you not understand why companies go public? That would mean they’ve pissed away all their private equity and now are desperate. (Bolt threads comes to mind)
I don’t think investors are that stupid even in penny land.
Spiber bought the partnership with shares. The paint company wasn’t beating down their door if only they could put some other than spider silk fibers in their paint.
Getting funded with 400 million, failing to produce what you’ve been funded for, then begging for money from retail investors… for a privately funded company, that’s like getting delisted
