I'm wondering if maybe there should be Q board here on iHub. I looked around and couldn't find one.
Good point. If AAMR didn't have the Q, I wonder what the PPS would be.
Read my original post. I said that AAMRQ PPS should approach the calculated PPS at merger. Less than a month out, it would appear as easy money right? Buy all you want in small blocks, without pushing the price up, and you can bank $3/share with little risk.
I understand all of this folks. Read the original post and gleen what you can from it. Take all the skepticism out of the merger and AAMRQ is basically a dead soldier at this point. The value in AAMRQ is in LCC now. We've all known that but now more than ever it is approaching reality. That's my point.
Which stock? AAMRQ or LCC?
I have the formula. I put it into an Excel sheet. LCC at 23.80 (I used dime increments), AAMRQ is worth 15.09 at merger closing.
The question is, what is the LCC conversion? It can't be 1:1 otherwise the two PPS would be converging and, ceteris paribus, should be virtually equal at merger. Am I wrong in this estimation?
Unless there are profit takers who get sketchy, the PPS of both symbols should settle at an equilibrium level.
If, at current PPS, the spread seems to be $3 and change, one would think that there would be some buying of AAMRQ. Of course, in order to avoid price spikes, the buying would come in small blocks. Smaller trades of a couple hundred here and there are not sufficient to move PPS more than a few pennies. Again, am I wrong in this estimation?
At this writing, AAMRQ is trading at below average volume and LCC is trading at above average volume. Whether that is significant or not is a mystery to me. Looking for some clarity.
I've been asking about this. If AAMRQ shares are based on LCC PPS, there is a breaking point where AAMRQ shares become a wash. The MMs may be relying on ignorance with regards to this and selling shares that, upon conversion, may have less value than their purchase price. I don't know.
There must be a blended share price or conversion factor somewhere in the BK or merger docs that addresses this.
Remember though, this is a "free" market. There may be buyers that have no idea and are just trying to get in on the next big thing without regard to DD.
I would like to know these things to evaluate if buying a dip or two here and there would be of value or if I should just sit on my core and wait for the culmination.
Yawn...so is this going to see sub $1 again? Without any news for awhile, I'm beginning to think so.
So now that the merger is almost a done deal. At current prices, which is a better buy? AAMRQ or LCC? Which is the better play at this point considering that I have a core AAMRQ holding.
As a relatively new trader/investor, I must thank all of you here for your DD and your encouragement. It ain't over 'til it's over (as Yogi Berra says) but it is sure looking bright.
I don't have a lot in AAMRQ but I have enough to be happy with this pending settlement.
@detearing, I'm looking for the next great Q stock! LOL
I won't be in Vegas but drop a chip or two for me. BTW, play Let It Ride. Best odds in the casino. Don't forget to play the bonus chips. They are worth it.

We are looking at this as holders of $AAMRQ. Where is the upside for LCC? In other words, if I'm holding LCC at $26 when the merger is finalized, what do I get? Just trying to get a feeling for the process when it happens.
Thx.
I was looking at an option chain today, for the first time. I'm not even thinking of options trading but would like to have some knowledge in looking at them to see a sentiment for some stock.
Could someone please point me in the right direction on what I see on this options chain? I'm not exactly sure what the 0.5 Call means with regards to the share price when the option may be exercised. thanks in advance

Story on NPR Radio this morning stated that all monies paid by FnF have only been interest and that the principal is still outstanding. Not sure how accurate that report was.
I sold a few at the peak two days ago. Was looking to buy back in a dip. Which I did. But I didn't quite hit the bottom of the dip. Either way, the short term play didn't quite work out the way I wanted but the long term play is still looking good.
Rock on $AAMRQ.
How low will we go today for the flippers? I sold a few just .02 shy of the close. Looking to get back in at the LOD. I know...good luck!! LOL
So what is the breaking point? If the value of a merged AAMRQ and LCC is based on LCC PPS, how high can we go before the PPS outweighs the value at merger? It seems to me that AAMRQ holders should be rooting for LCC rather than AAMRQ. The manipulation should be on the LCC side, not the AAMRQ side.
Love the technology and the promise. Perhaps the management team is not the best. Who knows. I had a small position about 4 months ago. I really wanted to stay long but didn't see a lot of upside as it languished. Bailed out for a small loss. Still keeping an eye on it for some good news.
GLTA
In the long term yes. In the short term? AAMRQ has it all over FNMA. I took out my position in FMCC, kept FNMA, put into AAMRQ.
While watching this today, I saw 7.47, then 7.57, now 7.87. I guess I missed 7.67 and 7.77. Thanks Boeing. I hope they don't get to the Airbus series.
Want to add but not sure if there will be a pullback or not.
30 sounds like a decent target.
Okay play this out detearing. The merger is approved. We double (or more). Then what happens?
Do you anticipate this to be a long-term hold or is it a sell, wash, rinse, repeat somewhere else? I know, each person has their own investment goals. I'm wondering if this is something I should set it and forget it or take the money and run. I would be subject to STCG as I've only been in for a few months. I know, should have bought earlier when it was cheaper but I couldn't pull the trigger.
Thanks in advance.
They are supposed to have blind trusts. I want to believe that. The skeptic in me keeps saying something different. Like the scene in Animal House with the two advisors.
If all of these things are happening, why is the PPS languishing and even dropping? Where is the plus side? Help me overcome my skepticism. I really like this technology and am looking for bargain entry points. But I'm not convinced on this one yet.
Buyers beware. This looks like a P&D. Whenever somebody starts touting an alternative or secondary market for a company, open your eyes. It's obvious this company has not capitalized on the 3D craze so they are touting other benefits.
There are profits to be made on this trade but they are not for the retailers. Insiders will make some $$ but others will be left holding the bag.
Other 3D Printing companies are trading way above this dog. That's not to say that those companies are not overvalued. They are. This one is going nowhere folks.
Great resource. Thanks.
Question on capital gains.
So let's say I purchase 100 shares of a security on 01/01/01. Each month I add 100 shares of the same stock on the first of the month. So on 01/01/02, I own 1200 shares. On 02/02/02, the stock goes to 10x. On 02/03/02, I sell 100 shares of the stock for a nice tidy profit and hold the rest for fluff. How does STCG work on that? Is it FIFO? I'm new to this game.
Thx
"Did u see the sells below the bid in the morning to drive the price down?"
I've seen others on these boards mention this. I'm new at this game, so far doing okay. I'm curious though, how does a market sell something below the highest bid? Can somebody please explain how this would work and if it is even legal?
Thanks.
Oh BTW, I already have a decent position at $4.
So I just "found" $1k. Already cleared in my account. With all this recent news, should I dump it all into $AAMRQ? LOL I know the answer I will get here.
Also, should I jump on the open or wait and see what happens today? Worked all night and won't be able to watch for most of the trading day.
I wonder if that was supposed to be a buy at $1 and the user screwed up and made it a sell? That would suck. What was the volume on that trade?
I was initially interested in this IPO. Maybe it's just a dog that not even a pump and dumper wants to embrace. That appears to be the sentiment. Just MHO but if the easily swayed P&Ds here can't get on board, I'm not sure who would.
Perhaps retail investors are looking for an entry point closer to that of the IPO. That would be more enticing to me.
I really want to go long on $NVIV. I don't see this one moving much in the near term (6 months). The question is, add now or play some others and get in long when it starts to move a little.
Both $AAMRQ and $LCC have seen rather significant gains in the last month. Somebody take me through a merger here with regards to PPS. Let's say the deal went down tomorrow.
Intuitively, I'm of the belief that $AAMRQ would see a PPS shift up and $LCC would shift down. It's the law of averages right? That obviously isn't the way it work as $LCC moves up.
I'm long on $AAMRQ here. Should have gotten in when it was sub $3 but I couldn't pull the trigger. I'm in at just under $4.
I was watching Level II, it was like watching Atari pong. Will it settle here or will there be profit taking on Monday?
Wow, it's at 31.55 right now. Holy crap.
$PBPB on the NASDAQ today after an opening day at $14. Will it go up or down is the question?
Sorry guys. Sold my 20k today. Lost about $500. Oh well. My mistake. I love this technology but don't see PPS going anywhere but down real soon. Perhaps I'll buy back in when it hits a low but I can't see the bottom of the hill.
Been looking at Potbelly. I like this place and would be willing to get in on the IPO. I have a TD account. I see I cannot purchase IPO shares unless I have a $250,000 balance and file a form with TD. As such, I cannot sell the shares within 30 days. WTH?
To be specific, how do they figure short shares in daily volume.
Could somebody please explain how they figure short shares. Thx.
