imperative...
I know you probably already have a plan or two on your experiment, but after seeing Chuckie's video(with Axelrod),I thought everything was covered EXCEPT squeezing out the Mop(that lay hidden in the concrete mixer)into a jar and measuring the amount of oil picked up by the sorbent. The video "suggests" that the Mop cleaned the sand of the oil,but it wasn't confirmed via measuring as was the water. That was the missing part of the whole experiment and it left a hole for doubt to creep in(along with never seeing the Mop sorbent inside the mixer.
All that was shown was a bit of sand and the full amount of water left after the demo. It's the OIL that needs to be measured. That will tell us what is left in the sand,if any.Forget the water...
just a thought....
yours,
deej
I'll be anxiously awaiting your scientific review!
deej
Yeah,I guess I had it comin',sorta
I've been battin' a thousand in that regards today.Called Feanor a woman, got in fisicuffs with Electroid and,well.....let's just say that walk I just got back from was real nice!
Another nice thing is to see how nicely we held up today! A great vote of confidence for Mop.
Deej
Agreed.I'm excited about Mop's potential but I also want to know where things stand, and to position myself according to that ever-changing risk/reward profile. And,with this incredibly fast-paced spill story/pinkie play,I don't feel I'm too cautious.I've put all my spare, losable cah in
Mop and it motivates me to be as thorough as possible.
A lot of investors are waiting for this very matter(order vs buy)to resolve itself.
Only this morning dud I realize it wasn't fully and completely a purhase, but an order.Call me a dummy, but maybe that's why I DD so much and ask difficult questions.
I appreciate your posts as well and all here that support good DD.
Cheers to all,
deej
Thanx,again....
You've been a great help.
Deej
Sorry, compadre! Didn't mean to infer anything like that!!!
(Nice response, though. Now I know the answer!!!
That settles that. So,now I see your point.
So,now,it's "hurry up and wait" !
I'm goin' for a walk....
Check ya later, and thanx again for the info(and friendship),RJ!
Watch yer top-knot!
Deej
They would lend NOW,without even a confirmed purchase(and not only "order")of Mop's goodies? That's my real question.
TIA,
deej
Nice post.Agree.Look at the ever-climbing estimate of the gusher's flow-rate and BP proudly stating that they have 25k barrels siphoned! That's a fraction of what is STILL gushing into the Gulf!!!
I better back off. Getting de-stabilized
Deej
That's cool that you actually were/are offering funding!
(how about a loan for a good buddy!?!) Just "funnin'"
So,yes,if they didn't take your offer(which wasn't conditioned on future orders,or even this present order being shipped...I presume),then it does point to the positive more than negative.
What about it? Was your offer conditioned on an actual purchase(orders shipped and paid for) or merely the fact that they received the orders only?
(If you don't want to answer that seemingly more personal/business detail,I understand,However, without that detail,it would make the argument moot,IMO. Dies that make sense?
Not trying to be confrontive
deej
Matt
Can't tell if you're being ironic, but that's a good point: if BP hasn't purchased the boom(technically, only ordered it)... then,I could see the hesitancy of (funding for)setting up full production facilities if it's not clear BP will ACTUALLY be using the product. Not a cozy topic for consideration
Thoughts?
Deej
Yeah,that's true.....
I guess, technically, they could cancel the order?
(I know that if I order something from some company, then I can cancel it unless it's already shipped. I may have to pay a re-stocking fee but I can cancel the order..)
Hmmm..... I guess this is one of my " what ifs" .
Not a popular "what if", but a REAL one.
Thoughts,anyone?
Deej
Whatever.Reduce the matter(and yourself) to insults, but as for me...I'm calling a truce. You can proceed as long and far as you want, but Feanor's call got me to wave my white flag(and got me to sign up for more than 15 posts!....in order to respond rightly to her and you).
Deej
I'm on your case about your post.....
Keep your personal shots out of it.
D
Thanks,RJ!
Unstable.I wouldn't think you'd be talkin' like that,saxx.
Like Kahlil Gibran said," Raise your reason
to the heights of passion"
It's passion,saxx......
Plus, your manifestation of that information was more informative, inmthat you mentioned that the info came from the horse's mouth(Wayne and Chuckie-poo's). THAT makes LOT of difference,IEO(in everyone's opinion)!
One is heresay and the other is fact(or,at least, represent both ends of the spectrum).
Deej
Saxx
I may have ventured "what ifs" in my postings but I am SURE and CAREFUL in my wording to not suggest something that could have the possibility of being misconstrued as "authoritative". Unless, of course, I AM authoritative in that posting(as in my post regarding having some experience with patents).
And, I try to not arbitrarily call the company(Mop) these days, since they are processing orders.I first try to get my info here,as there are some here that are in contact in
a better way than I am now.
I hope that answers your questions.
D
Thanks,saxx!
That's a helluva lot better than this:
"
they are trying to get the booms out of the door...
But BP keeps changing their minds where they want them it seems..."
deej
Whatever.I've got your #,now, and know where to file your posts.
Btw,I didn't find out from this board about Mop.
And,for pinkies and other opaque,low-floats....yes it DOES make a difference when misleading statements are made on a public board.
Just ask the SEC. But,for me,I am for "responsible" discourse on these public boards.
If it's a mystery to you about what I'm talkin' about, then I don't have any further to say to you.
Plus,I don't like anyone playing games with my investment.
Deej
Electrum
Jeez, electrum,I hope you're basing your "authoritative-looking" post more on that little uttering from JJ!
Please clarify! .....cuz THAT kind of posting of your's sounded really authoritative and could have dissuaded lots from getting into this play. And then you posted that you took
profits! On what? Your posting results?!
Your reference of JJ's little uttering post was FAR from
sufficient to even post as authoritative and for you to post in the manner you did was,IMO,misleading.
Hell! It misled me!And,I've been in this play for a while.
If you get the feeling I'm pissed, yer right.
I don't go for misleading statements and your's WAS!(based on
that flimsy reference to JJ's post).
I hope you have better reference than that......and if you do, then you should post it!
Otherwise, your post should be nixxed and now!
Smurf-the straight-deej
I agree!

So where are they getting this sorbent boom?
The only sorbent boom that I ever read about was expediently stitched together using hair, feathers, etc! I never got the impression(or read anything) that there was anyone supplying sorbent boom.
Maybe I missed all that?!
D
If it's company business, fine, but if it's BP games...then get an investigative reporter onto it. That's my thought....if it is in fact games. THAT is what needs to be clarified,IMO: games or not.
Mop shouldn't be drawn into any negative stuff, but if beaurocratics are causing the problem, there's nothing like a little media coverage that would cure that problem,IMO.
And,the ones to do the researching would be the media or parish leaders like Billy.
D
Spicy
We're talkin' "absorbent" booms here......and there's no deployment of ANY consequence, much less reserve,of THAT species of boom. So,there wouldn't be any justification either for stockpiling Mop boom
if they haven't even deployed the needed commodity! At least, that's the way I see it.
Just my thoughts...
D
This is the kind of situation where those zillions of phone calls every 20 seconds can do some good (by pestering the right party into looking into this "shipping" holdup). The question is who to point that attention to?
The Axelrods?
The Billy Nuss(whateverhisnameis)?
Etc
etc
d
Maybe Jim Axelrod needs to have a look into this "phenomenon"?!
D
Saxx...
How do you know the Mop hasn't been shipped(and because of no destination)?
Tia,
deej
Same to you!
D
"subsurficially"
Man! I had to look that one up(to see if it was a real word!),Allie!
First it's hydrophobic...
Then,it's oleophyllic.......
Now,yer tellin' me it's subsurfical!
Dang!!! I'm buyin' more come Monday!
subsurfically your's,
deej
Oh,yeah......thanx! Nice to be reminded of our good fortune!
Funny,how $ causes myopia
deej
What? No cash in my card,Mammoth?
(......dang.....)
deej
Their initial order was for 3 truckloads,not 1.So,that's $165,000.00.
I'm sure there will be followup orders. Also, that article I just posted said that the truckload was sorbent. They didn't say boom, but I presume that's what they meant........
It's great that Mop is set right in the article with the rest of the bigger companies. And,they didn't even mention Costner's company!
Nice...
I'm goin' sleepy-poo,so the fort's all your's! Watch yer topknot,Danny!!!
(you'da had to have read the book.....)
deej
MOP in the news,again:
(in another form.Hadn't seen this one before...)
http://www.businessweek.com/magazine/content/10_26/b4184020372736.htm
deej
Good point about Mop getting an IR,though. If things go well this event for Mop,then they might just be doing just that along with an upgrade or two from their "stop sign".
I've been mulling over Diamond's history with his patented baby,Mop,along with all his other ventures thru the years........and,I can see how much of an entrepeneur he is.And,yet, his main focus has been his patented baby,Mop.He's been workin' Mop all these years and now maybe it's time all that trouble will pay off.He really does have a beautifully simple solution to a nasty problem that is getting worldwide attention now. This spill is changing things bigtime in the way the oil-drilling industry will deal with the possibility of oil spills.
All the things that were lacking will be implemented in
a real way.....such as green(er) tech(see dispersants),spill gear and supplies ON SITE,etc.
MOP won't be retreating to pre-spill levels(of business) after this event fades away,IMO.
MOP is on the map(to quote that famous celebrity
deej
Right on!
Yes,this board is great and,IMO,has put Mop on the map.
(hey,......Mop on the map......kinda catchy,huh?!)
gltALL,
deej
PS Yer right about FeanorFire's post(that one that she posted backin' me touched me and really spoke of the great homeys here on the board).
(thanx again,FF)

Here ya go:
"CBS National Chief White House Correspondent Jim Axelrod visited MOP Environmental Solutions on June 8, 2010 and toured the manufacturing facility and witnessed several different demonstrations of the MOP sorbent. In the first clip, MOP President Charles Diamond demonstrates how rapidly the MOP sorbent removes oil from the feathers of a bird. In the second he demonstrates cleaning up a spill on water. CBS will be airing news related to MOP and other products capable of helping to clean up the spill on Monday evenings for the next 3-4 weeks according to Mr. Axelrod."
deej
Yes.I'm expecting some! (does that count?)
Also, supposedly on Mondays, for the next 3 or 4 weeks,CBS will be airing a segment on oil-cleanup stories/companies and Mop may be one.....
Is that right,gang?
I'll look for a link and post it.
Deej
I wouldn't get all bent outta shape. I didn't think your post was about me,anyways.
You have been in this stock for years, and so what you might think is boring leftovers from last week(old info) can be a banquet for guys like me who don't know this stock well and need to get up to speed! And,since there's hardly ANY info to speak of on these pinkie-plays,these message boards bear the inherent burden and service of informing newbies.Everyone hates to repeat things to the new guys. And,also, the newbies tend to bring up old bad news or old skeletons. That is unavoidable and is the reason guys like you should set the record straight.....and not try to avoid or suppress it(btw, not saying you do or are).
I can understand the feeling of seeing old, nasty news (brought up by a newbie that he has no idea that it is irrelevant) in the middle of a great moment like Mop is having .....would cause one's heart to sink. But,IMO,if one does good DD THRU those moments, they'll certainly find the truth of the matter either thru guys like you helping out or thru their own level-headedness.The momos and the bashers will always be here to confound the serious players, but they are easily distinguished from those with real questions and concerns.
So I welcome real questions,no matter how painful they may be.And,I've been banned on one iHub board for just asking those real questions! Can you imagine! Being banned for doing DD!
Crazy stuff happens here on Earth, but I don't have to like it or follow silly rules based on fear(like that board's group trading philosophy was based on.)
I know you don't subscribe to that kind of nonsense and no one should. But,it DOES happen.....and too often,IMO.
Sermon over
your friend,
Deej
I'm sure a good part of it for publicity, but by doing so(helping the company with funding)...it sets a precedence for other companies to ask for help.Especially those that BP has already made orders with!
BP has already stated that they were gonna help small businesses anyways, didn't they.
So,this could be a start of something bigger that Mop could capitize on(pun intended).
I already sent Wayne a link to the news article/item.
Deej
WOW!
Read all about it! BP is working with Costner's company, helping them to make those machines of his!
BP is helping with the funding!
This sets a. REAL precedent for MOP to get help with cannons, sorbent, boom, etc!
http://abcnews.go.com/m/screen?id=10916445
deej
Thanks for that,rj
Yeah,DD should not be discouraged because the world we live in is not Utopia.
It's more like Idiocracy(if you've seen the movie).Better safe than sorry.I'm optimistic with Mop and the situation, but I haven't forgotten that pinkie "stop sign"!
Like they say,"Hope for the best but prepare for the worst".
That's my philosophy.
Good to have a guy like you on board!
Keeps everything in the right perspective,IMO.
Cheers,
deej
