For those of you not aware, the National Hockey League (NHL) recently partnered with Stan Lee, the legendary former president of Marvel Comics, in a campaign called the "Guardian Project," which is centered around this year's NHL All-Star Game. The campaign was designed to create 30 comic book heroes based on each NHL team; release each team's hero throughout the month of January; and ultimately showcase the super heroes in Raleigh, NC - the home of this year's NHL All-Star Game - on the night of the game. For all you Philadelphia Flyer fans, check out "The Flyer" superhero and see the Youtube video here.
The project has inspired a lot of creativity, but it has also generated a lot of backlash with hockey purist bloggers.
There is no doubt that when this program went viral, the planning and idea were spot-on. The idea was created approximately 16 months ago in an effort for the league to grow its brand and generate more fans and followers. "Hockey fans, above and beyond all other sports fans, are purists. We've been cognizant of that since the start," said Adam Baratta, chief creative officer for Guardian Media Entertainment. "So we're trying, right now, to create something for hockey that will expand their awareness -- hopefully around the globe."
While the Guardian Project's Facebook campaign has generated over 1,000,000 votes, NHL blogger Ryan Lambert calls the effort "the worst thing ever." Even some of the hardcore fans who have commented on his blog call this initiative an epic fail. But despite the criticism, Baratta is confident that a hockey-based superhero project will succeed. The fact of the matter is the project's viral marketing has been very well thought out, and there is an actual story behind the creation of these superheroes. It's based on a fictional character named Mike Mason who is born with "special" abilities, and whom Stan Lee refers to as a "Peter Parker" type. There is even a 400-page book that will soon be released that provides some back-story to the concept! You can find more about the story-line here.
Whether this storyline will fly or not is completely up to the masses. Social media will have a huge impact on the project and the people getting involved in blogs, Facebook content, and the like will most likely determine its success. As for now, the majority of avid hockey fans feel this project is a detriment to the league. Maybe that will change.
Currently, the creators of the project have signed a contract not to release any pertinent information about the story. And according to Puck Daddy, the superheroes will officially debut in a five-minute live segment during next Sunday's NHL All-Star Game in Raleigh; "a combination of in-arena ice projection and hologram show," according to Baratta, as the 30 heroes "save" the Carolina fans from their arch enemy after he takes over the arena.

I appreciate your honesty,Btexp. I'm feeling the same way and I'm sure a lot others are, even if they don't admit it.
Cheers,Deej
Volume precedes price,here and now.

Where did you get that "suggestive" comment?
Your own opinion or ...?
Tia,

Soldier Zero is a timely title and genius because of that. With so much attention,by all of us, on our boys in the mysterious regions of that mysterious conflict in Afghanistan,IMO this title exploits the essence of it. I think Soldier Zero has BIG legs and we'll surely see it on the big screen. I don't see that with anything else Stan has recently come up with.
Mark my words,boys and girls.

The NASDAQ requires a minimum share price of $4, so OTC companies trying to uplist will often undergo a reverse split in order to meet the minimum stock price level. When it comes to corporate governance requirements, two obvious tip-offs are restructuring the board of directors to have a majority of independent directors and creating the necessary board committees required by the exchange. Thus, the three main steps to look for that indicate a company may be positioning itself for an uplisting are:
1. Undergoing a reverse split to meet the minimum share price criteria of the exchange ($4 for NASDAQ).
2. Restructuring the board of directors such that a majority of directors are independent.
3. Creating the required board committees (audit, compensation, and nominations committee).
Even if there is a r/s,the size of it (of which I was told was a 2/1) doesn't indicate an uplisting to a major, but more merely to satisfy some esoteric financial requirements. As a note, generally reverse splits have negative consequences on a stock's pps EXCEPT a small r/s(2-1,for example)one in a microcap stock:
Here's a study on reverse stock splits that suggest the same:

Let's see how $15k's worth at .31 works the pps today

Well put.I agree.

That's me.27k@.22.

How about a number for IR.
Everyone should give them a try at their own questions,IMO. After all, that's their job:to receive inquiries.

What about Stan's documentary? It was debuted at SDCC and has been in post-production for a while. That oughta be coming soon?!
D
That's the ticket,Stan.....
Pump Pow!

Here's Stan intro-ing his doc. at SDCC:
Pulled back from the highs,of course. But 4x higher than before the news that caused that high.
You should DD this thing cuz there's a LOT going on behind the scenes and if you missed the last run, you'll probably miss the next. DD is way better than a watchlist mechanism,as you obviously have found out.
Deej
I agree.

You ask the right questions.

deadcell...
If you've been doin' your dd,you would know from the historical charts that Mopn is comfortable around a penny. For years. No praise nor blame..........but just fact. That being said, there have been plenty of times where that penny cost basis could have tripled easily.Just getting IN low is the key.......along with knowing when you will sell.Plenty of time to think about both.I,personally, will wait for the penny level($0.01/share) and them load up,with the intention of waiting for the next triple(at least). It probably wouldn't be long in coming now that Mop central has had a taste of the coin! All it takes is a little, nice PR action by them and BANG!A triple.
Anyways, maybe THEN I'll be able to make my Mop losses back!
This thing is a fast mover,so you have to have your plan(when to get in and out and why). And,with all the consciousness and attention on spills now, all it would take is a spill on Mars to get hopes(and pps) rising again.Til then, the pps will follow the mud down the Macondo well till the next spill somewhere!
This is obviously,at this point, a binary play(on or off, black or white).......so good luck!
JMO,
deej
I think yer right, vader. It used to be 18 years and it got changed a while back.
D
Not me.....but something to keep in mind is the patent expiration date(18 or 20 years?) is coming up in a few years. After that, the patented process becomes public domain and anyone can make the stuff and sell it as their own brand/product. Time is a-tickin'...
D
BTW I sold at 11 cents and jumped over into another,to recoup my losses. If I'm less here, that's why.
Good luck,all!
Watch yer topknots!
Deej
Nice connecting dots,me2.
Thanks.A good example of why 2 heads are better than one and why I use these boards: I
don't always have the answers, but others may.
D
"Guess some can't appreciate exactly what this means"
It "means" that Mop "intends" to do this thing. Like .....a great idea. It doesn't say anything about when or with whom............just the intention to do so. Like I "intend" to make a killing on Mop. Whether it happens is another thing! There are "material" events and those that are " intent". Big difference when it comes down to time and money. And, don't tl me you aren't happy when Mop's pps rises!
We all are in here for $. Not the only thing, but it's a big part of it,if not the biggest.
The more material the event, the bigger the Impact on the pps. And, in this material world,it's all about " show me the money"( or, REAL events).
In
this aspect, the market voting machine is incredibly reliable: we will see what Mr. Market thinks of the pr tomorrow: material or " less than".
Jmo
d
"They don't understand the long-term implications behind this letter/PR."
Intriguing comment.Intriguing cuz I,for one,didn't feel
like the pr was all that interesting.A letter of intent: nice, but excuse my yawn.
Reporting more than in the past: anything is better than THAT!
I like the honest and hopeful disclosure, but that "hope" has always been there and always will be. As it should. What do you discern from this pr that "others" don't?
Tia,
deej
A "letter of intent" is NOT impressing me.Sorry,Charlie. Not saying it's bad. It's not. Just not much to hang yer hat on.
D
"Probably shouldn't make financial decisions while drinking."
Lolol....
I'm gonna remember that one!
d
Hmmm..... first time I heard it called "walleyes"!
d
"sell in excrements"
Actually,Electrum,to "sell in excrements" is a valid term(in the "pinkie" realm)...... and means to take a really,REALLY big loss!
d
Right. I like what Peter Lynch said about TA:"It's great for predicting the past!"
It's a tool to help traders with their broader means of analysis....
Just like a cane is helpful for those who need it,but it's a poor replacement for legs........... and you wouldn't get rid of your legs in favor of a cane!!! Same thing with TA.
Jmo
d
Yes,a Fibonacci band can predict anything if they get the news first. My question is: what is a band doing trading stocks?! They should be playing for football games and such! But,that's those crazy Fibonaccis for ya!
D
According to my 20 second, Oscillating Fibonacci Band.....we'll EXPLODE to $0.115,linger there at the Mixed Signal Crossover Point til the gap seizes, and then retrace to the highs of the previous day's low.
Jmo,
d
I have read a number if sec filings but am far from an expert. What I don't get,I Google and that's a big help.
Lemme see what you have...
D
It's a million........and,just a joke...
D
An honest man. I like that! And,on the pinks,no less!( I mean..... the " sucks"
Yeah, I kinda felt I was crossin' "some" line by asking you to divulge your cost basis. Your secret is safe with me and NO ONE but us and this board will ever divulge your 50 MM
shares at $0.29/share! What goes on in Mop/iHub STAYS in iHub.
deej
PS Btw........is there really a thing as a pinkie "investor", anyways!?!
Wow,Produn.....you've been in this stock for THAT long?!
What's yer cost basis,if I may ask?......
Being that Mop has never(before this spill) seen the 30's before, did you get some o' that?!?
I've only got a piddling 16,700 shares at 24 cents ......and that's why I'm so Zen-like in my disposition(yeah, right! Just ask Electrum about THAT!). I'm amazed at anyone who could be in a crazy pinkie for a long time.....
Deej
Nice art-piece,Bert !
I'm no TA guy,but that gap getting filled is a good thing, right?!
Does it signify a reversal .....
I was kinda surprised that today held the way it did. Seems like this level is a major resistance level and will hang around here til something material happens.
Thoughts?
D
Yeah, this is a tough ride, this Mop.Everyone here should not underestimate what it takes to stay somewhat sane on a stock this volatile! And,as all trading is heavily emotional, the rougher the ride...the more ragged the emotions. We just have to take that into account......... and if someone says they are fine with the huge swings, well they are probably just not honest with themselves.........cuz they aren't foolin' me!
When I think a moment about Mop,it scares the he'll outta me..........but I've already figured out when I'm gonna bail: either after a huge pop on great news,or when the general cleanup is coming to a close and it's clearer(to me) that we won't get an order(or getting an order won't make that much of a diff). The former can happen tomorrow, but the latter won't for some time, methinks. In the meantime, the pps will reflect more the people(investors) than the company(prospects).
Jmo and glta
deej
Good thing this isn't one o' those high beta stocks :)
d
Roger that! I certainly can understand the feeling of seeing an article that may be less than complimentary of a stock I am in,but that's the nature of the game, isn't it!
High beta stocks have high beta emotions and if you can't tame those horses, they'll take you for one wild ride and buck you off(without your hat)!
The market is all about the companies and people. The company can care less about pps. It's just a building and inventory or whatever. Then there's people. That's the trouble in the market People. The less emotional bull people overlay onto the company, the better. Then, the people are more in sync with "the company".
Mop is the same way. The biggest part of Mop's pps is what the people(investors, etc) put on it....... and when those investors are even-tempered,it shows in the beta. Thus, pinkies and their beta generally reflect a particular demographic in traders/investors. IMO,of course
I take that into account(now ...... and expect(but don't like) "high beta" posters, posting, etc on these boards. That's why it's so refreshing to read a sane post!
In the meantime, and beyond what the pps is reflecting, the company remains doing what it's doing.
Jmo
deej
Yeah,I agree.I posted the same article yesterday as an informative piece......since posting ALL angles of any story just help for balanced decision-making. I'm not afraid of the truth,no matter what form it comes. In fact, as an investor....it is a requirement,IMO,to be able to hear all views. And,fear of hearing any side means one leaves themselves open to failure based on being biased one way or the other. At least,it increases the risk of failure. And THAT is not opinion. It's a logical certainty.
Rule #1 of trading: Don't fall in love with your stock.
Deej
Nice move,teeshirt. Ballsy,too...
This play is dropping on NO NEWS,bad or good......and with the cap on,that is right:the cleanup STILL will continue for a long, long time. Remember the last big pop to 35 cents? It was on
a low like this!: I think the pps got down to 8 cents before the "good news pop" of BP orders. This looks like a repeat of that one, except we're farther into the game but fully set up to deliver, now.
