oops, Furman - just read JimC's post.
LL
cksla - I should have added IMO, sorry. The fact that they are obviously linked to Kant, who are buddies of the EDIG CFO (Fulmer? can't remember his name), and put so much money on the table for a stock at such a low price in an emerging technology/market, etc, etc. It just doesn't make any sense that this is anything other than a long term investment in something they expect to be much bigger in the long term.
LL
Sentinel - hadn't seen your post, but was evidently thinking the same thoughts. This was clearly an investment, not a purchase which will be liquidated. It also clearly supports JimC's postings and theories of what EDIG is up to.
I also agree that if the shares were sold otherwise the price would have been even more adversely affected. I have worked for a publicly traded company who went through some similar efforts and did not handle them nearly as well as EDIG. I believe Kant/Priori is in for the long haul, just like most of us. It should be very confidence-inspiring to see someone put such a large chunk of money on the table in support of EDIG's business plan. They obviously don't plan to lose it.
LL
a priori and a posteriori are terms used both in philosophy and law.
a priori is knowledge prior to experience and a posteriori is knowledge based on, or after, experience.
Immanuel Kant had some big theory about real knowledge and contingency knowledge involving these concepts, but I can't remember what it was.
Is A Priori owned by Immanuel Kant Investments? Are they one and the same? Too much coincidence that these somewhat arcane philosophical terms relate to both the investor and the purchaser.

bosox - nice post - thanks LL
Marc - congrats to you and your wife. I wish you the best and think we will all be winners with this investment.
LL
Marc - sorry to be so heavy-handed in making my point.
Best wishes,
LL
T - I think it has to do with the dilution factor - I am not smart enough to figure it out - I have to confess I am in this stock a lot deeper than I had planned on being but I have not yet seen anything to dissuade me from my perception that they are doing all the right things (except making money - LOL).
If RB could discuss the merits and demerits it would be helpful, but the board is so polarized you have to look carefully for good info.
Good luck to you. Thanks for your posts as well.
LL
marc - you don't know that the company is selling, so don't get all worked up about it. If they are, then they probably have no choice. I doubt that they are.
I presume the 15% drop is somehow commensurate with the % of dilution although if you are looking at long term prospects, and the company delivers, it won't matter.
I would expect ( and have heard some fairly credible evidence to this effect from several sources) that the company will let us in on their plans shortly. It is my expectation that we will like what we hear.
Best wishes,
LL
Evolution Article from NC online TV page
New device may revolutionize music listening
4/26/02 4:00 PM
By: Sarah Nakasone & Web Staff
Evolution Technology of Morrisville is hoping to revolutionize the way people listen to music. Their new device, the MTV 500, will allow music fans to listen to any music they want, where they want it and for several hours at a time.
The disk.
The local company, which teamed-up with Data Play Technology in Colorado as well as some music industry giants like MTV, BMG, Universal and EMI, is going to market a device that is smaller than a CD case and holds a disk about an inch in size. The $16 disk in turn holds prerecorded music like Britney Spears as well as three hours of blank space.
Evolution Technology hopes the $350 MTV 500 will do well on the market even with tough sells like Andy Mitas, a senior at N.C. State University. Mitas is one of the many who download free music off the Internet. Free is the key word for Mitas. “It should be free and not tied to your ability to make money, or where you are born in life,” he said.
The player.
The device creators hope that the ability to play prerecorded as well as downloaded music, coupled with stability of the player compared to the crash potential of drives, will be enough to win consumer hearts like Mitas’.
Evolution Technology promises to have the player on the market by the end of May, and is also working on a similar device that would allow people to watch movies in the same way.
jimc - thanks for your thoughts - I got a laugh out of your lowkey comment
"Of course my estimates might be off as well, but I suspect that they are closer to the truth than can be inferred from a simple extrapolation of heybrad's report."

I have been told that Immanuel Kant was a contact of the EDIG VP of Finance/CFO. Sorry, I have forgotten his name.
LL
skiwest - thanks for the contribution. Was that
blank verse or an extended haiku?
Thanks Doni - my apologies. LL
Except when it came to AREM, where he cost himself and a lot of other people a lot of money.

I'm not sure, personally, how anyone could confuse the two processes, but am unconcerned about it in the long run.
LL
wm-wallace - well, that's pretty much out of left
field, isn't it? I could make sense of some of the lists, but not all. But hey, if you are right, I will not complain. Thanks for the post.
LL
Sentinel - and much more eloquent than mine!!
LL
rstring, Tin has posted the more obvious interpretation given EDIG's current business model and plan. Longtooth's post is either intentionally misleading or he just can't see the forest for the trees.
LL
4Video - So you are saying the future is . . .
never? That's absurd. Clearly the momentum of technology and consumer needs/wants will force a new generation of musical storage/playing devices just as it has previously in the evolution of this industry and others. A consensus and coalition of necessary supporting players will come together just as has taken place in the past.
It is, as you suggest in your posts, impossible to name the precise time which will be most fruitful for EDIG and other related companies, but is equally impossible to deny that such a time will come. The reluctance to move forward which you cite will, at some point in the not-too-distant future, crumble and fall before the momentum resulting from the forces I mention above.
You make some interesting points, however, particularly vis a vis the "two steps forward - one step back" process that has been playing out for the last few years. It is because of the obvious nature of such a process that one who believes in this company, and the future to which it points, cannot get too worked up about the "delays" which are the subject of so many tired and redundant posts on the RB board. In fact, being comfortable with the process is inherent in the ability to be an informed investor.

Thanks tinroad. What happened to RB?
It has become the vast wasteland. Good to see some familiar names here. Thanks for steering me.
