whizzeresq, thanks. Appreciate it. EOM
-vg_future
whizzeresq, thanks. Is it normal for the parties to agree on things like these or can we try smelling something rosy here?
TIA
-vg_future
ams13sag, enough already. Why don't you wait and see?
-vg_future
Data_Rox, I like the exercise and hold pattern. Gives hope.
I thought that when they surrender the shares to the company, company will consider that as holding the tax at the source (like tax getting cut from the salary) and give the rest of the shares to the employee. I am not an accountant....so, I will stop here before I blabber more.
-vg_future
sinnet14, read the message posted by nieves. I guess these shares were surrendered to the company for tax liability purposes.
-vg_future
DaveDavis, while NOK does this, we can silently report them to SEC for insider trading...he he he....love that....
Still waiting for our day under the sun.
-vg_future
rmarchma, thanks for the explanation. Much appreciated.
With the current arbitration experience, I hope NOK will be more willing to negotiate and set its own rate.
-vg_future
mschere, this from the NEWS release that you posted sounds more appropriate then what Forbes's typical fud.
FROM
NewsRoom Finland
After defeat in US court, Nokia says to negotiate with InterDigital
29.12.2005 at 14:11
Finnish mobile phone giant Nokia intends to negotiate with InterDigital, a US wireless digital radio-telephone systems firm, after a New York district court confirmed that Nokia would have to pay up to 252 million dollars (213 million euros) in compensation for its use of InterDigital's 2G and 2.5G mobile technology.
and this is what was posted in Forbes (from sjratty's earlier post)
Nokia said that InterDigital Communications Corp is willing to negotiate over a royalties payout after a New York judge confirmed that Nokia owes InterDigital 232252 mln usd.
Good Morning and Congratulations to all longs.
-vg_future
Question, if IDCC signs a 3G agreement with any of the named triggers (ERICY, LU or MOT) now, will that put NOK in a fix by triggering their rates or can they still negotiate their 3G rates?
TIA.
-vg_future
Look at the pompous EGO these guys have...what are they smoking. From the article
Nokia said that InterDigital Communications Corp is willing to negotiate over a royalties payout after a New York judge confirmed that Nokia owes InterDigital 232252 mln usd.
Who is ready to negotiate now...or is this the regular Forbes fud?
Hope someone knocks some sense into NOK's head.
-vg_future
Congratulations to all longs! Hope we get back to high 20's soon and then go higher from there.
Thanks for all the information provided on this board.
-vg_future
olddog967, thanks for the clarification. Optionchain, Habu and Spencer also have provided some more info regarding the accelerated vesting. This board is The Board for information.
Thankyou All.
-vg_future
loophole73, there was a message from teecee regarding his conversation with Janet Point and it seems that Samsung's lawyers took the Houston hurricane as an excuse for the postponement of the Samusung'S arbitration hearing(it should be taken for FWIW). So, it wasn't the NOK's hearing postponement that caused the delay. I was wondering what the Samsung's arb hearing would have done/set if they hadn't postponed the hearing. I am also wondering what they will do in Jan if Judge Pauley doesn't give his ruling by then.
Thanks for your thoughts and insight.
-vg_future
habu, thanks a bunch. I missed that part. Thanks for the clarification.
-vg_future
optionchain & habu, thanks for the responses. Habu, Anyone with less than 23,500 shares has promised to not exersize those shares until the day that they would normally vest anyway.
Where did you get this info?
TIA.
-vg_future
optionchain, could be just a new accounting standard. But, I don't understand why the insiders should be given access to all their options (that would vest in future over next 6 years) now when they can be used effective employee retainers. Also, remember that 785,000 is not a small number.
-vg_future
Ellix, I am waiting for that LONG's day. Trading is not my style and I am incapable of doing it, so, I would wait rather. One of these days the big NEWS will move us to real high prices and volumes.
GoodLuck All!
-vg_future
dndodd, thanks. EOM
-vg_future
olddog967, but, would that require acceleration of outstanding options that would have vested over period. It is like giving away all the incentives upfront that would also serve as employee retainers over period.
-vg_future
GoDuke, What does it say? I don't see it yet.
TIA.
-vg_future
mschere, let's see how it pans out.
I hope IDCC comes for the rescue during this unreasonable price movement.
-vg_future
spencer, I guess they already issued a correction to that release.
-vg_future
JimCharts, I don't think that is a probable situation because that will be considered equivalent to insiders fleeing and I bet SEC would love to see such happenings for investigation.
JMHO.
-vg_future
loophole73, buyout is not the scenario that I was thinking (but, I had to mention what happened in our case to show the importance of accelaration of option vesting). I am thinking that something is on the verge of happening.
I hope that the good NEWS of Delaware case will knock some sense into investors.
-vg_future
Anybody, opinions on the accelerated vesting of options? I have opined that this is typical of an acquisition (that's what has happened at the company that I work for). In case of IDCC, it might not be an acquisition, but, might be indicating something on the verge of happening. TIA for all your valuable thoughts.
-vg_future
Accelaration of option vesting...interesting...the place where I work this happened when we were bought out. Anyway, in this case, I strongly believe (IMHO...before anybody jumps on me) that something is brewing and is close to the finish (could that be finnish) line.
TIA for all your thoughts.
GoodLuck All.
-vg_future
nieves, from this NEWS release
However, Nokia contested the ruling, and filed a motion to stay the award. A federal appeals court later ruled in favor of Interdigital Communications.
This gives the impression that SDNY ruled in favor of IDCC. Did I miss anything?
TIA
-vg_future
loophole73, great. Thanks. As the word spreads we should be seeing some action next week.
IMO, IDCC also might be putting something out by next week.
-vg_future
my3sons87, really hoping for the big green one.
Let's see what's under that Christmas tree.........
-vg_future
my3sons87 & loophole, but the strange thing is that we dropped more than 2 points when this lawsuit was announced. I thought we could atleast expect those 2 points back in the stock. Maybe an 8k would have made more people aware of the fact that IDCC won another round.
I shouldn't complain....atleast we have a decision on our side now.
Merry Christmas All!
-vg_future
e500, I guess the uninformed remain still uninformed (not confused) due to lack of an 8K from the company. IMHO
-vg_future
OT mschere, the price of the radio would be 27 cents (25 cent + 2 cent that the seller took)...so
9 + 9 + 9 = 27 = 25 + 2
However, when you calculate the way you've explained, there would be a difference of 1 cent which seemed to have vanished...1 cent vanishing from a non-existent price of 30 cent...thanks for the brain teaser....
-vg_future
olddog967, Okay. Thanks. EOM
-vg_future
question, is it possible that the judge might have given the parties his decision (without the decision showing up on the pacer yet) or given them hint of which way he is inclining to facilitate/encourage any settlement talks? Or once the decision is given it has to show up on the pacer no matter what?
TIA
-vg_future
my3sons87, yes, labor is lot cheaper and that's the biggest plus.
-vg_future
my3sons87, close to 675 million rupees.
-vg_future
thanks olddog967. EOM
-vg_future
nieves, I too saw 2 blocks first and Ameritrade reported over 800K total share volume. But, now Ameritrade adjusted it back to 614K. Is it only one block reported twice?
TIA.
-vg_future
sjratty, enough already. Did you get hold of enough shares already?
When will you ever stop? I sincerely hope you learn your lesson one day.
There is a thin line between talking reality and spreading agenda.
-vg_future
GAB, Thanks a lot. EOM
