This means that if I ever get to fly in the day time, instead of the cheap red-eyes I end up on, I could watch CNBC or at least I could listen to it on XM Satellite Radio on one of the other airlines.
Can't be very old, the slides were presented at the SHM!
Thanks for the quotes. eom
Guess that's what I get for living in So. Carolina! LOL. Lois
Could someone give me a real time quote?
Is there anyone who can't get on Scottrade this morning?
Very, very good questions. I spent over 30 minutes trying to find the Cornice booth using the numbering system. I finally found a map on a post showing where the booths were located.
No, I made the name up for the show.

Hi Lois,
It was a pleasure to meet you as well. We did not have an e.digital/Cornice product in the booth. I believe that there will be an e.digital/Musical/Cornice/Texas Instruments device available in the Q204. Shall I keep you posted on its availability?
Take care,
Christine

Christine, Thank you for taking time to talk to me Friday at the CES. This is the product I wanted to see, unforunately I didn't have enough information to be specific when I was there. One quick question: did you have one of these players to demonstrate? Thanks again.

Note that on time and sales, EDIG bigger orders are the +side while little orders are on the -side. A little volume, too.
The MPIO HS100 was the one in the Cornice display case that the Cornice people watched 2 movies on Thursday evening. I have no idea if this is our tech. It's found at www.mpio.com
"Plug and play! Carry large data wherever you go. HS100 is a moderately priced mobile digital audio and video consumer product from Digitalway. HS100 is a 1.5 GB portable USB Mass Storage installed with 1-inch HDD. It is a combination of huge capacity HDD and small flash memory storage device. It is capable of fast data transmission by using the USB 2.0 Interface. "
Yes, he is "the Fixer"

Cornice: It was difficult to find the Cornice ''booth.'' What they had was a small meeting room with a very small reception area. They had a locked case with the players that had been launched before the CES. I talked with a Christine Hinton, Vice President of Marketing, Vantage Point Venture Partners, located in San Bruno, CA. She was helping man the booth. I explained that I was looking for the new products that had been launched at the show. One of the Colorado employees over heard us, and brought out a brand new music player by Taiwanese GemSOC to show me. Christine unlocked the glass case and showed me the current players.
iRiver, Samsung, and Lyra (Sp. ?) and the MPIO HS100 were on display. When I told her I really wanted to see a working model of the newest technologies she {I have to go get me dog NOW! ----------------------------------------------------------------
Tasha's glad to get home--she's been in the dog kennel all week.
Christine told me that NDRs would not allow her to tell me anything that had not already been publicly released. I kind of kept after the subject of not just MP3 players, but the new tech that included movies. Her eyes kind of lit up when I said that. Then she said that they (I took it to mean the Cornice people) had watched two movies using the MPIO player the night before. She acted like she was really impressed with the DigitalWay handheld. Since I'm not familiar with the exact numbers on the MPIO, I don't know if this is an old or a brand new player' nor do I know if it was EDIG tech. Do all MPIO players have EDIG inside? We exchanged business cards; she expressed surprise that an investor would show up at the booth. I told her that I used to work for a Venture Capital company and that I was following eDigital's progress. I don't think she knew very much about eDigital, but she worked on the last round of financing for Cornice last April.
Walter Pfeffer joined us for dinner, he's our EDIG tech guy. He told us he couldn't tell us anything that wasn't already disclosed, but he did share some interesting things I didn't know. My discussion of his remarks may seem rather random, but that's kind of how they came out. He really likes the DigEplayer. He knows other airlines are ready to jump on this product. 2)We are not in the new Ipod-like HP Player. He personally likes the iPod, but he thinks our GateWay player is good. The question I raised to him and to the board is, why would we want to be in the Apple product when MSFT/IMB type PCs represent a much much bigger market? He also said that when the GateWay player was almost finished and he was in charge of making sure it worked, he would do tests, then over night the same test would be continued in India. He had lots of good things to say about his boss, Atul. Lots of the employees have stock and they all are working like Beavers (good Oregon term)to get the PPS up! 3) Eclipse: Walter was very uninterested in talking about it. I don't know if he couldn't, wouldn't, and/or shouldn't. Most of his ideas and remarks were on target, but others weren't. I came away with feeling that Walter could only go so far in a discussion and then feigned ''I don't know about that--not my department.'' He was very chatty and certainly knew a lot about football! Our dinner ended early--we were all exhausted.
I posted last night that the real question is not who makes the hardware, but rather, who controls the content. On our trip here to LV, my husband Richard brought our portable video player with a couple of movies he's rec'd for Christmas. But when a good movie came on the plane's IFE system, he paid the $5.00 for the ear phones to watch it.
I asked 4 different people in the Texas Instr's booth where I could find an example of the new CorniceSE product and not even one person knew what Cornice SE is. Going to see the Cornice booth tomorrow. I saw our Gateway Player in the MSFT booth, I saw the odysey1000 and the digeyplayer in the TI booth. I looked for but did not see the HD1213 in the Eclipse booth. I'll go back and look again tomorrow. I was going to see the HP talk tonight, but when we got there the line was too long. Back at the resort and tired. There's really little to report. Lois
identical language of Gates last night: robust, feature rich, and cost effective digital music players. Did any one read my msg. this morning? Gates talked about seamless connectivety and he used several examples---voice recognition was one of them!
Needless to say, I'm disappointed in our share price this morning. I was so tempted to sell 30,000 shares at .60 yesterday morning. I'd bought this amount at .54 two weeks ago. Now I wish I had, but if it had gone to .75, I would have been kicking myself. I've been waiting a while, guess I can wait a little longer.
CES 2004: More on the Gates talk last night. Go back and read my posts from last night because I'm not going to repeat myself this morning. I'd like to read the Agora Bd. but it's so slow it takes 5 or 6 minutes to come up per post.
Last night Richard and I showed up at the main Hilton casino almost an hour and a half before the Gates presentation. The auditorium is right off the casino. We saw a long line and proceeded to get in it. Come to find out it was the line for the press corp. We went over to the other line and were told the seating was taken and that we'd have to go to the over flow area in the main ball room. Now that room fills up fully an hour before the talk, but we did get seats there. We watched on a big TV screen. A couple of things he said early in his talk may be very important to EDIG. He was outlining the direction of this wireless convergence and he emphasized speech recognition. Less than 10% of all homes in America are wi-fy ready. We just had a new home built and we are all set, and our 3 computers and laptop are on a wireless system. (Nothing works, but we are in theory, LOL). I was really glad to read this morning that Sirius will be offered on the Eclipse. More press media people are here to cover the CES than will cover the presidential conventions! Truly, the business of the U.S. is business. Lois
Really tired. I'll catch you guys in the morning. The parts of the presentation that had hopes for us were MCX and the telematics--Toyota is a partner. Lois
I just heard the Gate's presentation. The MCX (MediaCenter X) that was on stage had a Gateway lable on it. But the little handheld a/v player had Creative on it.
CES 2004. I'm here in Las Vegas. I'll be picking up mgs. in my IHub mailbox about 8 am each morning. Let me know if you can come and have dinner with us. No big commitments, I haven't even made reservations. We'll be ordering from the menu when the restaurant can work us in. Lois Beasley
Ediggers dinner for CES 2004. Friday, Jan 9, 5:45 PM Hilton Hotel, MargaritaGrill. No host dinner. I'll be wearing a bright red jacket; I'm in my early sixties. Lois Beasley
Austonia, If you are in Las Vegas next week, stop by and meet some of us. We'll be having dinner on Jan. 9 th, that's on Friday at the Hilton Hotel's MargaritaGrill at 5:45. Meet in the bar, dinner as soon as the cafe can work us in. Everyone on the board is welcome to attend. Lois
Bring me up to speed on this: iRiver iHP-120. Is the HP in the middle of this players name Huelett-Packard?
Where?
OT: It's cold and clear in South Carolina this morning. The brown grass is tinged with frost. I'm getting all my chores done to get ready to fly out to Las Vegas on Saturday--you know like getting the bills paid, hair cut, making arrangements to kennel my dog while we're gone, and breaking in new walking shoes. I'm sure on any given day at the CES I walk between 5 and 10 miles, because after the convention center closes down, it's time to play CRAPS. This will be my 4th CES and I have good memories, after all, I met my husband there on a blind date two years ago. I met him on Yahoo Personals: I drove down from Oregon and he flew in from Washington DC. This is my personal testimony: I wouldn't have gone to the CES, if I hadn't bought EDIG stock over 4 years ago; and I wouldn't have met my husband if I hadn't happened to be going to the CES 2002. Even if the stock goes down, heaven forbid, I'm a big winner. Happy New Year to everyone!
CES 2004: Friday night EDIG dinner.
Okay, if my efforts to get people to "commit" to a time and place with reservations hasn't worked, I'll try this new approach on the boards. Meet in the bar at the MargaritaGrill in the North Tower of the LV Hilton Hotel at 5:45 PM, Friday, January 9. Who ever shows up and wants to have dinner with Ediggers, may do so. There won't be any reservations and no commitments. The cafe will work us in; there doesn't seem to be many of us. My husband Richard and I will look forward to meeting who ever joins us. Lois
Dinner next Friday evening in Las Vegas after the CES on Friday night, anyone? So far, I haven't heard from anyone about joining my husband Richard and I for dinner next Friday night. Three years ago we had a group of about 20 people show. Since there doesn't seem to be much interest, I'll cancel the reservation with the Greeks. I'm still open for suggestions. Email me: loisb@sc.rr.com
I tried to buy 30,000 shares yesterday and the same thing happened to me. I got them at .51 and .515, but not the whole amount; I'm still short 605 shares. I think I'll try to pick them up on Friday as it should be a slow trading day. On Monday, I'll be in Las Vegas. Hopefully, I'll have my laptop working and can send some reports back. ORY
Hey, I already said that I made up the scenerio. You missed my point entirely--I think it might be over your head. LOL! ORY
Okay, but Cornice has been shipping since April, so it's the hot new deal. There may be more than one Cornice SE product announced. But, it's pretty far fetched anyway. Thanks for reminding me that it was a music player.
'EDIG's personal video platform also has applications within the professional services field, offering doctors, dentists, hospitals and emergency personnel access to critical information - all in a device weighing less than 2 pounds.' From FF's remarks this month.
Olympus makes lots of hospital imaging equipment and we worked with them 3 years ago on the DataPlay camera. We also have had experience with voice recorders/writers for doctors, the Lanier product. I think this is a huge dot, a BIG hint at a product yet to make its debut. This kind of a product could easily use the Cornice Storage Element. One of the PRs will be about the product using the Cornice SE. I'm not sure which company will have this, but here is a scenerio that I like: (I made this up.)
Olympus working with eDigital has produced the first really new teaching device that can be used in any language (we will start with 5) for doctors, hospitals, and clinics. A library of information with accompaning audio video can be carried in a small hand held case. In addition to the up-to-date information and pictures, doctors will be able to directly compare symptoms and problems by entering their own data. When stumped or unfamiliar with a procedure, users can forward the gathered info to appropriate authorities such as the Center for Disease Control, the Mayo Clinic, or the World Health Organization. Doctors in remote places could call up help via our product. The very best medical information could be available in many languages anywhere, anytime. Etc., etc.!
This is pretty far fetched and I already see errors in my scenerio, but Fred made this suggestion, not me. I have no idea exactly how this would be used or what, but I don't think Fred accidentally threw this into his remarks; just like I don't think he cited the Hollywood 'screeners' example as a throwin to his speech either.
Food for thought. ORY
Looks like there is a big block of stock for sale at .49????
Tin, do you still have a DD list like you used to a couple of years ago? I'm trying to catch up on the ideas flying around the boards in some kind of order. For example, Sinacull, over on the Agora board had taken the O1000 apart and the "innards" were being discussed. Some how, I missed a link as the discussion went from Insight, to Insystem, (I got that far) and then to MSystems (where I got lost). I frequently can't follow emit's threads. Lois
