Next June 7th in Shanghai ..... Hey Winthrop, you old Tomcat, good to see you back. Do you still have a position in CYGX? Ours has been reduced greatly and I am spending most of the time in China these days. Drop me an email if you get a chance.
when is the shareholders meeting?
Now that is really ironic .... you are in Texas and haven't had BBQ and I'm in Shanghai and I had BBQ ribs and sausage a couple of nights ago ... at Yao Mings place here. ROFL You really have to stop at the first little BBQ joint you see. Try a mixed platter with brisket, ribs, sausage, etc. Make sure you try the beans, potato salad and cole slaw. Enjoy the jalapenos, onions and pickles. Wash it all down with an ice cold beer.
Did you get to go to the CYGX SHM, or were you on the road? You would certainly be one that most of us would trust and from whom we could covet a report.
Wow, HC welcome to the great Republic of Texas. Darned, if Ah hada knowed yall were acoming, Ah'd a stayed home so we coulda had yall over fer some Bar-be-que and all the fixins.
There is some udder tests we use to see if'n it is a cow or a bull. Yall be careful, ya'hear. Don't yall go a'grabbin the wrong horn.
Wow ... you are right ... I just saw the update and cut and pasted it ... should have known that you still have the fastest fingers in the West .... or is it the East ... LOL
I am so thankful that the hypsters on this thread have been so open and willing to share everything with everybody here. It is great to see their sincerity in helping project a positive image of our struggling little company.
Best to you & I.
skooby, I just had to beat Arnold with this CYGX/AVGI update.

Hogger is not backing down ... you are the one who introduced this idiotic misconstrual of what I said ...
Hoggers post: It is indeed doubtful that JJ went to the SHM ... or any of the other RBW's. This would be a paradigm shift for them ... positive news that was not trumpeted at max db's. You just have to learn to let their rhetoric flow in one ear and out the other ...
Junior's post: your words hogger
It is indeed doubtful that JJ went to the SHM ... or any of the other RBW's
How about a 100.00 dollar bet to back up you words.
Cafe69, you have to understand that the RBW's have a fixation on mushrooms. Hence, the steady flow of unenlightened BS they post. The variety would be interesting indeed. LOLOL
It is indeed doubtful that JJ went to the SHM ... or any of the other RBW's. This would be a paradigm shift for them ... positive news that was not trumpeted at max db's. You just have to learn to let their rhetoric flow in one ear and out the other ...
You will see a pattern that has developed over the years ... when there is absolutely nothing concrete and positive, they just babble on about unimportant crap ... uh, more BS.
Now JJ wants us to believe that MS is part of the backshop gang who should someday get Nobels for their work. What a laugh.
You have hit a number of nails squarely on the head.
Wonder if we ever met at a DCASR gathering? CPCM?
certified professional project manager
And to really complicate matters, the old hogger was a school mate of both Dick and Lynn Cheney back at Natrona County High School many, many years ago. We will stay away from the clandestine communications that hogger did in his misspent youth .... rofl. Then there is the fact that hogger eats at the same BBQ joint frequented by Bush Sr and Barbara. This is getting pretty confusing and we need to connect the dots as we read between the lines.
Oh my God ... has anyone realized that Hogger has an apartment in the same town in China that Yen Chen came from. HMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmm
Now we need to find out if they get foot massage at the same places.
Scooby, here is the latest on the evil stock dumpers who have been depressing the CYGX share price. The RBW's should have let us know that the only problem was a vast left wing conspiracy.
There would clearly be a conlfict of interest with their holding CYGX in view of the new products we will be announcing next quarter that will allow far left leaning Dem's to live a normal lifespan of 237 years. Hillary is also using investment money earned from her latest book, "It takes a conglomerate to raise a bio-cassette."
Clintons unload possibly troublesome stock
To avoid potential conflicts of interest in a presidential campaign, the Democratic contender and her husband liquidate shares of energy, drug and other companies held in a blind trust.
Former President Bill Clinton and his wife, Hillary Rodham Clinton, liquidated the contents of their blind trust upon learning it contained investments of $5 million to $25 million that could pose conflicts of interest or prove to be embarrassing to her presidential campaign.
The blind trust and a bank account valued in the same range place the Clinton's total wealth at between $10 million and $50 million.

The Clintons opened the blind trust in April under instructions from the Office of Government Ethics and sold the assets in May, according to a disclosure form filed Friday. The Clintons have had a blind trust since Bill Clinton was governor of Arkansas in 1983 and had no control over its transactions.
Once they peered inside it, they discovered it included investments in oil and drug companies, military contractors and Wal-Mart Stores (WMT, news, msgs), campaign spokesman Phil Singer said.
Right you are Ellen, although it seems I spend more time here in Shanghai than I do in Houston. I help the girls with their business now and then and get a lot of therapy. I'm able to walk farther than I have been able to walk since the accident and stroke that started all this mess ,,, lol. Still hoping for the best from our investments, but worry more than ever.
BTW, Superchick and my "almost but not quite officially Chineese daughter" have grown their business to where they did better than 5MM last year and will exceed 10 this year. And they started their business with profits from CYGX. It's a shame they don't have anything higher than BA degrees ... just think what those girls could have done then ....
Great to see that a few of us Old Timers are still hanging on ... especially you pretty ones.
Yes, Wawh, I do know Malcolm .... and all of the other characters that have played in management roles. Before cygx LW was my stockbroker and I was there when Malcolm asked for and was given the interim position of CEO while we were searching for someone to fill that post.
I was able watch this whole melodrama unfold from a front row seat during the first few years .... it has been from a bit farther the last couple of years.
Yes, I have to stick by what I said ,,, it was that way from the minute Malcolm came on board and used LW and a couple of others to establish a death grip on the power within CYGX ... and that is not likely to change.
Now, do you have any first hand up close experience with this cast of characters?
Well said, Scooby. We have not had much of a rudder since the unfortunate death of Lawrence Meeley. I still miss him ... as much as a friend as anything else. He was the only person we've had in the top echelon that had major real world successful business experience.
We've had shots at a couple of others who were heavy hitters with great resumes and roladexs. They were either not favorably viewed by the powers that were, or in most instances, they were not going to be involved with some of the personalities that have been venerated on this board.
Many are holding out great hope for Malcolm's replacement. Probably won't improve anything. The reason is simple: MS prefers to surround himself with YES-men. The CEO will have to meet that criteria or he won't be hired .... and remember, MS is going to stay on as Chairman of the Board. Nothing will change ... we'll stay on this slippery slope.
Paulness, all of us would like to hear about everything concerning themeeting. Most of us are holding onto straws as we hope for the best with our company. I'm 7,000 miles away so I have no contact with anyone in Houston .... well, except for Superchick and her company ... lolol.
All of the secretiveness and inuendo are not helping the image of CYGX whatsoever. Anytime there is even the slightest glimmer of hope, all of the RBW's immediately chronicle it to the high heavens. That is not happening now and that can lead all of the other investors here to worry that the SHM had even less to offer than we feared.
As for LW, I don't know anyone who keeps in contact with him. Why would people that were calling for his departure years ago want to keep up with him now?
CYGX will be filing a patent application to address that problem in the near future .... as soon as it has the financing ... probably next quarter.
chalk it up to mental masturbation.
Scooby ... remember when we were talking about this for CYGX?
Japanese Researchers Use Rice to Develop Cholera Vaccine
Monday , June 11, 2007
A team of Japanese researchers has developed a type of rice that can carry a vaccine for cholera, a step that could one day ease delivery of vaccines in developing countries.
While it's only the latest of several plants being tested as potential means of producing vaccines, the development is potentially important in medically underserved countries that lack refrigeration to store regular vaccines.
But the work is preliminary, having been tested only in mice.
The team, led by Hiroshi Kiyono of the division of mucosal immunology at the University of Tokyo, reports the development of the new vaccine in Tuesday's issue of Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
A major advantage of this approach, they said, it that it causes immune reactions both systemwide in the body and in mucosal tissues such as in the mouth, nose and genital tract.
Standard vaccines delivered by needle do not spur immune responses in the mucosal areas.
That means the new vaccine could have an advantage against pathogens that typically infect these membranes, such as cholera, E. coli, human immunodeficiency virus, influenza virus and the SARS virus.
Attempts to alter plants to produce proteins that induce an immune reaction to various diseases have been under way for years, but none has reached the state where it could be used in humans.
"This has not progressed to the degree that we had hoped it would by this time," said Hugh S. Mason, a researcher at Arizona State University who has worked on several lines of plant vaccine study.
Mason cautioned that getting a good response to orally delivered material can be tricky in the harsh environment of the digestive system.
"We're going to have to work on ways to protect it from degradation of the stomach and then release it lower down in the gut so it can be taken up," he said.
In 1998 he published a paper on modifying potatoes to produce a vaccine for Norwalk virus. But he said in a telephone interview last week that "was a relatively preliminary study."
Most recently, Mason said, he has been working with nicotiana Benthamiana, a relative of tobacco, but which is smaller and has fewer alkaloids than tobacco.
Many researchers are moving away from food plants because of public concern about altered items getting into the food chain, Mason said.
David W. Pascual, a molecular biologist at Montana State University in Bozeman, said the Japanese researchers were able to generate a protective immune response in the mice while avoiding any allergic reaction to the rice itself.
In addition, the transgenic rice can be stored at room temperature and doesn't have the risks of infection from an injection.
Pascual, who was not part of the research team, noted that several other plants have been developed to carry vaccines.
Potatoes and tomatoes have been tested for vaccine against Norwalk virus, he said, potatoes, corn and soybeans against enterotoxin, potatoes for cholera vaccine, and soybeans for E. coli.
One reason for the slow progress in the field has been lack of interest and funding from major pharmaceutical companies, Mason said.
The only plant-based vaccine in use counters Newcastle disease in chickens, and that reached development only after Dow Agroscience became interested, he said.
The Japanese research was funded by several agencies of the Japanese government.
The use of rice engineered to produce a vaccine reaction doesn't mean it's an edible vaccine, Kiyono stressed.
"We do not wish to create the condition that public is thinking of eating steamed rice for vaccination," he said via e-mail.
Instead, the vaccine is delivered in a capsule or pill containing rice powder and should be treated as a drug, not food, he said.
With the first work done in mice, Kiyono said more basic studies are needed and he hopes to test the vaccine in a primate "in the near future."
I can't speak for Arnold, but that is exactly what I've been hoping and praying for for many many quarters. And isn't that what you have also been promising for the last many many quarters. LOLOL
Why Arnold ,are you fearful that the next quarter will show a marked growth in sales and orders ?
gdepc,
Of course Arnold is still a stockholder, just like me and a growing number of others who have become disillusioned with the manner in which our company is being managed. I'm really tired of the petty bickering that is a daily fact of life on this board.
Please remember that even those of us shareholders who disagree with corporate policies have every right to vent our anger and frustration toward those responsible for the mess we are in. Most of us have also done the same with companies that became very successful and profitable. My wife and I own a reasonable percentage of stock in an international corporation and were in a running battle with the previous CEO. We still hold stock and plan to keep on holding. A complete change has the stock up a little and steady.
If we just wanted to give up, we would sell all and move on, but I believe strongly in the CYGX technology. Yin, Harrylin, XX, et al are deserving of our commendations and praise of their developments.
Unfortunately, the best technology in the world is not any guarantee of a company even surviving. It takes very astute and capable management. Great backshop and weak front men. Just as much a formula for failure as the reverse.
Although Arnold gripes constantly, I can find little if anything to disagree with in his complaints. Care to point out where he has been totally wrong?
To everyone who has sent their well wishes: I appreciate each and everyone of them and especially the prayers. As many of you know, several years ago I sustained a stress induced stroke after hitting one too many cars with my passenger train at road crossings. That led to my having my physical pulled and getting early retirement. There were a couple of additional strokes that followed and in this past December I discoveered that the Debakey Heart Center was having a sale and giving double green stamps on open heart surgeries so I opted for a triple. I had one fully blocked, and the other two were 90%'ers. Guess that had something to do with my not being able to walk around the block ... lol
My recovery has been wonderful, if not a speedy as I would like. I still can't play golf and a few other things like lifting, but I am doing lots of walking. When I am in China, I also get daily massage therapy. I think it is the use of accupressure that is helping greatly, although my wife and daughter think it is primarily a resumption of massive hormone flow induced by pretty girls running their hands all over my body.
Then there is the smorgasborg of pille each day .... LOL. I think my diet did play a role in the problem developing and I have modified it greatly. When in China, I eat a heavy load of fish, seafood and vegetables. After a few weeks there, I enter junk food withdrawal and have to go to a McDonalds to get a fix.
Also, I did finally quit smoking. Wow, after over fifty years, that was a trip and I still have a desire for one, but so far my higher power has been successful in keeping me away from them.
Agasin, thanks to everyone for their well wishes.
Great to hear from you also. I see your posts from time to time, but don't often make any. I'm spending a lot of time out of country since the last stroke and the open heart surgery. The therapy overseas has me feeling better in most ways.
I was very happy to see that we may be teaming up with a reasonably succesful European outfit. Although not impecable, their credentials are certainly acceptable and admirable.
We have absolutely no indication what the financial ramification of this will be or for that matter even what will be involved. Are we giving them a license ... or are we doing a JV with them ... etc. I can visualize possible scenarios that would qualify me for RBW Sainthood, yet I can see scenarios that make we want to divest all remaining stock. LOLOL Ellen, we have been here too many times before, so I will just remain cautiously optimistic.
I still believe we need the rest of the management changes.
That joke is always funny. When I first heard it, it was told by either Foster Brooks or Tom Postum. Then it was an Aggie joke (written by Univerity of Texas Press about students at Texas A&M.)
Cow, going without pay and using stock for barter have been a way of life with CYGX since it began. In the old days it was all that kept us going ..... and yes, I got some shares that way.
Now to the real problem ... you, my dear cow have started to intrude into my precious relaxation time. It seems that you just have to wander 'cross my mind during almost every ball game I try to watch. Please ... I need some escape into my sports.
There is a commercial for Chick Fillet that has a family driving together and one of the 'Chick Fillet Cows' hitches a ride on the rood and the little boy in the back seat says, "Cow." His mommy says, "Very good .... COW."
Well, as that dialog is repeated several times and the camera cuts to the cow on the roof, I have to think about you. Do you think Yin, XX and Harrylin and our brilliant backshop gang can invent a sequence that will block out images of commericals?
JJ, thank you for a fair and candid post. You are sounding like your old self ... I probably wouldn't do this for anyone else, but for old times, I'll address the issue one more time.
Yes, I did testify in the trial, but I was originally subpeoned by CYGX. I think that after the depositions their attorney had a change in the manner in which he decided to approach the case and my candid views did not fit in. (I firmly believe that the trial would have ended differently if he had used a different strategy.) I showed up at the courthouse and he told me that CYGX was not going to call me. As I was leaving, the attorney for AVGI asked me to stay and testify. I did.
A few days before the shareholders meeting, we became aware that all of our remaining shares (over 200K) were either in my wifes name or our childrens names. I spoke to LW about it and he said that they would have to be changed to my name. (Note that he only told me that I could not vote them without either POA or the changes - I did have proxies but I did leave them at home, if I recall correctly.) I flew out to Las Vegas and personally went to NATCO and got them changed. Understand that when many of the early shares were issued and we had less than 10 MM shares outstanding, many of us (I think including MS, LW and most others) opted to place shares in family names.
At the time, there were a substantial number of shareholders who were discussing a shareholders suit. I an NOT going to go into their reasons. I fully believe that the fact that those disgruntled shareholdes did not file a suit was because of the actions of one of the other posters on the thread and myself. I certianly wanted to see some changes in management, and MS had promised that there would be changes, but then apparently changed his mind. (Until recently ... lol)
There was also the PP mess. As I've said several times, I think we dodged a bullet there. There were many aspects of it (both in favor of PP and of CYGX) that have never been discussed. I'm certainly not going to discuss them now, especially not with folks who were not present and do not know what the big picture included.
At the shareholders meeting, I learned that the date I had made the changes we after the cut-off date for being able to vote the shares. Then the young ladies at the desk told me that I could not enter. MS and LW were both standing there and when neither made any intercession I went outside to discuss the matter with my personal attorney, I did not think I could be excluded as I had been present at the other meetings in the past. I did not want to make a scene, so when I couldn't reach him, I simply left.
My being excluded had little if anything to do with shares. There certainly had been no -problem when I had bought them .... especially those I got in PPO's.
Well, JJ, that is yet another repeat of what happened back then. I've had all I want of that whole mess. Again, thanks for your thoughtful post ....
Hogger
I agree about the five year old stuff and am most willing to drop the subject.
That is interesting ... when you have posted nothing but lies, how could your point have been proven by my denial of those lies. You are correct in one thing again, those lies are cerrtainly enough said by you.
The only thing you are correct about is that Del and I are friends. The rest is total lies. I still don't bash CYGX ... I bekieve that the back shop is filled with brilliance ... the loss of FV and LW are only the first steps to getting it all in order ... Malcolm is in over his head and he has dragged our investment down with him ... That is not bashing and most impoortantly, it is not a pack of lies like you and a couple of others posts.
Totally false .... once again you are displaying a propensity to prevarication. I really wish you would stop lying about me.
No Junior, you have consistently posted total lies concerning me and my association with both CYGX and AVGI. I've just tired of the stream of lies you have been posting. It began when you first started posting on this thread and has not diminished. It would also help if you would learn basic grammar and spelling.
gsepc ... your post shows the total ignorance you have concerning any and every aspect of my relationship with CYGX and AVGI. I would appreciate it if you could make sure you have at least a minor monicum of knowledge about that of which you speak instead of posting totally erroneous BS.
Hey there cow .... I just wanted to be the first to address you with you shortened moniker ... I hope you get to make that move.
gdepc, don't give half the truth ... for a change, be honest .... Hogger had about 200,000 shares of stock, but they were in other's names. The real reason that the powers that were didn't want Hogger in was that someone else had started a rumor that Hogger might be accompanied by someone who would be serving a subpeona ... if you're going to spin, be careful not to pass on a total lie.
Yes he was, and several years ago we were promised by Malcolm that he would be relegated to a position that could utilize those talents and make way for a real CFO with a resume and Roledex that favored a different financing scenario. We were also promised that he would only be on the board for a few more months. I have wondered if Malcolm just couldn't find another "Yes-Man" like LW used to be.
I have read the last few PR's with a CYGX slant and the desire for plausable deniability ,,,, that can sure give them a different slant.
Good to see you are still pink and breathing .... oh, even if the Debakey Center is giving double green stamps, those open heart surgeries are just not all they are cracked up to be .... LOLOL ,,,,,, have a great one and see you later.
I have also heard that, but I have also heard it another way .... don't know and don't think anyone could know for sure without a lot of court room time and I don't think CYGX could stand it. To the best of my memory, CYGX was given permission by ISIS to use any of their IP for testing with the vector, and if anything worked out, they could negotiate terms for usage.
About the same time, there was an article that said that naturally occuring molecules could not be patented, CYGX thought that would allow them to use the molecule and that was the reason that we all quit referring to it as the ISIS 2301 (or whatever) molecule and started calling it the Anti-Icam.
Nappy, that is the crux of the problem ... you and I have made very good money on CYGX. I'm upside down in the stock I hold now .... uh, yeah, I bought as the RBW Cheerleading section were proclaiming that it was a buying opportunity ... LOLOL
Whoever told gdpec that there was no problem seems to have either not known what he was talking about or was purposely misleading him. As I recall, I was with you when a member of the CYGX board explained the problem to us and that another officer discussed it with some folks down south.
I also remember Malcolm telling some of us that we should refer to the molecule in question as the anti-Icam because a larger company could not defend any patent rights ... uh, that seems to have been just before a decision said they and others could claim such IP.
And evidence seems to point to that Isis molecule as the real reason that the herpes treatment worked on herpes simplex for some of us.
Go easy on little gdpec ... he still thinks the train has left the station and that there is light at the end of the tunnel ..... he just doesn't recognize that the light is an oncoming freight train.
(Written before I read you more recent posts.)
Thanks Arnie ...had to wipe away a few tears and remember twice kissing the tarmac back in the 60's .... God Bless our new generations and may He hold them in the palm of His hand.
Come on Nappy, you need to look at the bright side. While it is true that even a mega-pharma would have difficuly recouping their investment, CYGX will not have to spend all of that money of those silly tests. We just watch as our investments are frittered away but we don't have to throw any more good money after bad on our one pattent that appears not to work without the assistance of one little bit of technology that is owned by someone we simply cannot afford to fight in court.
And another bright spot is that the herpes cure that many of us have invested in still appears to be just over the horizon, so it also will not require all those investment dollars. And who really wanted to be associated with curing such an ugly disease with its immoral connotations. I'll bet that if PaulNESS's old buddy and business idol Hayseed was still around, he would agree whole heartedly. After all. he predicted the draining of the Arabian oil fields and the start of Armagedon.
I still keep a little stock so I can be an owner and would love to see it actually become worth many times what I paid for it, but it looks like it is going to stay far below that cost.
gdpec, you are 100% correct. Normally the only imaginations running wild are those of the RBW's. Finally a balanced scenario.
I have never seen negative imaginations run away like today.
Hey there bigworld .... if you really want to have an orgy of great country music, head on down here for the Rodeo .... we have action seats for Toby Keith. That will probably be the only show we make this year .... I'm delaying a trip back to China so we can take some clients to see him ... we have to get together for coffee one of these times when Superchick and I make our shopping rounds up there .... also, if you get a chance, go see Little Joe y La Familia ... they always play some of the old hoggers songs .... and I need the performance royalties ... LOL
Greetings Arnold,
Issues concerning CYGX, its science and its management have ceased to be an issue with several RBW's on this board. It seems that they are far more concerned with some manner of personal vendetta than with discussing the pros and cons of our situation with CYGX. It is hilarious to watch them try to stretch every word written by those who hold anything other than favorable views of every act, yea even word issued by management.
With Lawrence and Frank gone, we have an opportunity at seeing some improvement. Malcolm promised some of us (years ago) that Lawrence had been to his last ASM as an officer. Well, that wasn't honored and he not only attended severl more, he was there in his capacity as a member of the board.
We wish our interim CFO the very best with her job. It will be very difficult and she will need a lot of assistance. She is a very sharp young lady and seems to be a real expert with numbers. I do not know about her ability to raise funds. We many of us suggested a long time ago, that was an area that LW could peform. He could have ben put in a position where he only raised funds and that would have been an asset to the company instead of putting him in a position where he had real world CFO rsponsibilities.
Of course, it was also suggeste by some that Malcolm should step into a position where his abilities with IP issues could be utilized and that someone with real world successful corporate building experience should be in that position. We have been a little light in that manner of expertise since the untimely death of Lawrence Meeley.
Let's raise our glasses to the future and hope hat the changes that are going to be necessary to increase our value and help our fantastic back shop get some products to market. I think I'll head over to Nanjing Road and get a massage just for Yin and XX ... LOLOL. I am going to drop by George and Yao's new restaurant for some more Texas BBQ. I feel at home there ... lol ... strange: Yaos in Houston has the best Peking Duck in USA and Yaos in Shanghai has best Texas BBQ in China ... hmmmmmmmmmm
Hey there JJ ... drop me an email when you get the chance.
