Oh I forgot to mention c02. You really don't want to go here for your first grow. Get your feet wet first. You're looking to get a high gpw (gram per watt ratio). Most consider a grow to be dialed in when they have reached .9 or 1+. At 1 gpw you will have a gram per watt of light so you're looking at 400 grams for a 400 watt light.
In conclusion, don't worry about c02 until you are reaching high gpw without it. C02 involves running timers to slow or stop ventilation when c02 is released for short durations and that can all get fairly technical.
Wagon, I highly suggest you register at icmag.com for your research. A lot of people here would benefit from researching/DD at icmag. It is a ridiculously comprehensive source of information from legal cannabis news to small/large grows to breeding and strain vendors etc. lots of intelligent people on those boards.
Your dimensions are 4 ft by 4 ft and 6 feet tall, so you could do well with something between 400-600 watts of HID lighting (mh or hps).
I can't remember the cfm match ups for the inline fans right now, but my guess is a fan with 450 cfm or higher. It's very important to match up your fan with the carbon filter you get. Too small or too large and you'll have problems with smell control. Not to worry as the filters come with a cfm rating listed on the product.
Hope this helps!
North Pole - that highly depends on the placement of your carbon filter. Is the filter inside the tent at the intake side of your fan? You won't cover it up for long if your filter is at the end of your ventilation. This is why many choose to hang theirs above on the support bars or standing freely right next to the plants.
Of course smell is strain dependent, but you can cover up some of the strongest with good placement. The drying process is a little harder to control because you want a slow dry so you want to slow the fan down - but then you won't have the best filter protection.
Dr k is just Heisenberg back to his old tricks. That or they share the same avatar and hate for phot.
Regardless, there is a lot of animosity flaring up between Mj stocks. That doesn't feel right.
Before I did my DD I was in hemp, cbis and mjna. After the research was done, I sold those and consolidated all into phot. Still, I'm not wandering over to their boards to throw dirt in their faces...
Secret Jardin is highly rated, as is a tent named Grow Life of all names...
I know a few used to be called darkrooms and go under model names such as DR50 and DR-180.
A few tents such as the hydro hut tents caused awful problems for growers known as "off gassing" which caused heated plastic to negatively affect the plants and cause them a slo death. This was an issues about 4-5 years ago and the industry as a whole has since adjusted to use 100% safe material.
These days when rating a grow tent we want to look at ease of assembly, light proofing, durability, amount of weight that can hang from support bars, adjustable ventilation ports and overall size.
Most of these tents can be disassembled in very little time. The smallest one you could likely take down in 5 minutes if needed.
Anytime Stowe - I've been in this industry on a small scale for about 10 years now. Any questions just feel free to ask!
Tents have pre-fabricated outlets for your ventilation. To keep out smell you want to ensure you have a carbon filter at the beginning of your ventilation (complete with inline fan and ducting). For bugs, filters may be placed on the intake ends of your tent to ensure less or no debris enters in.
Lots of tents will come with filters these days as well. With appropriate ventilation, your tent should have the material pulled inward slightly due to the inline fan.
Wagon, I have purchased plenty from the greners.com website which is owned by grow life.
If you go check out Mj grower forums - greners is a name that comes up more frequently than most other online stores when people make a post looking for online store recommendations. This is exactly how I found greners and I have been buying from them well before I knew of the phot stock.
Tents are becoming a great plug and play way to have more control over your environment. The tents themselves are important as they eliminate light interruption and hold back lots of dust/particles that would otherwise land and attach to the sticky buds on a plant.
So many have underestimated the planning of this team, myself included!
At this point these guys have so much credibility and knowledge on their team that executing the business plan won't pose as much risk as previously assumed.
I did catch the post by illigence earlier, good to have a basher back! Awful sad for him looking through the short perspective and not long term.
Just look at all the progress in the past month. Jv and president announcements will be well accompanied by GIFT news.
One question remains, did sterling release updated guidance for revenues? Will he do this soon?
If he does not, there will be speculation that they will meet or exceed projections. Hmmmm
When will this stock from the blood clot that stops the bleeding?
Good question. I can't directly speculate on this, but I would take a guess that there is something worked out with him through the jv.
As people have speculated, bigger money will make an entrance at some point. Phot's early dilutive start was (what I believe) a play to outpace the others and claim a significant percentage of industry sales early so they can enact a full business plan in the long term.
Phot is that baby learning to crawl, soon it will learn to walk and then run.
The news borderlines epic. With so much worry about risk on OTC stocks, phot is doing as much as possible to legitimize into a fully comprehensive company.
Of course no need for irrational exuberance just yet - we are pending more and more news that is pertinent to their growth.
Still the most stable play in the industry. I can't wait to hear what bashers come up with against this one!
Marco Hegyi, former Microsoft and yahoo executive named grow life's new president.
Well let's hear the argument on that one!
You seem to forget that no matter what happens, growers will need to purchase equipment.
Even if such a thing were to take place, then you'd have a lot more people joining the commercial side of things.
Gosh it would be so terrible if these new laws applied to big money wouldn't it?
Neverenough - it's a bit ridiculous to think someone wouldn't hold shares in both. It would be great to see this run with phot.
Just a hunch, but it's standard protocol to delete posts promoting other stocks than what the board has.
People try to advertise these 2 stocks as enemies when they're really allied against the rest of the open market Mj stocks.
Dude- Why would people go to mcig?
Safe to say they won't loan 1.3 million worth of equipment to a risky grow.
At first, I thought the GIFT program was to help small collectives get in the game with more equipment ahead of time.
Now I see GIFT is aimed at going big and aligning with large operations.
1.3 mil is a TON of equipment.
All well and good, but can we see more about what plpe/vape's plans are?
I'm interested in this stock in addition to phot of course - both hold potential.
On a similar note, Neverenough It's fairly hypocritical to speak of motives as a long term phot basher. Don't see why both stocks couldn't run.
Still need more info on this one.
It's the website Spivster has been waiting for.
Ok spivvy my boy, as a professional in web design - I want to hear your opinion!
Nrcmedia - I have to say that some of your worries are understandable.
At this point the fed has spoken that it will stand back and let things take place while stores comply on a state level.
Now, this leads to a greater crackdown on stores operating outside of those guidelines. Most, if not all of these raids between California and Colorado have been on shops who are breaking state laws. I don't doubt it has also seen a small share of innocents affected.
Do you think the first liquor stores weren't open to insane legal scrutiny?
Do you see where liquor stands on the economic totem pole?
This will see intense legal regulation before the fed will trust it.
Cheers -2-. Couldn't have said it better.
People who are looking to entrepreneurship in this industry aren't going to want a single hair of legal matter at risk.
It's a guarantee any smart dispensary owner has 'lawyered up' or selected some form of legal guidance. What if you were able to take legal monetary guidelines and format them out in a kiosk? Are you giving dispensary owners an accountant in a kiosk here?
The kiosk monitors cash payments to ensure amounts are transferred in accordance with legal guidelines - does it not?
This is vital. How well this blooming industry receives the kiosk is very important. There will be shops operating under the table who wont like this idea. Tremendous incentive to operate within the rules though!
Guys you can still look at where officerk posts. Go confront him on his new board! Haha.
Drsteve - just saw your post history
That makes sense.
Man look at the gobs of pumping going on at the mjn# boards! Some seem to think CBD concentrates are available in all 50 states.
I'm chewing on some gum that doesn't cost over 100$.
Quite a gamble you are wagering that it would ever see below .06 again.
Have been coming across plenty of greners advertising lately. Lyric sites, urban dictionary, etc.
Bashing or trolling, it's all the same.
Tried multiple times to open intelligent lines of communication with them - no luck.
Question something they say and poof! The basher is either gone, or will create a new post and avoid your question.
Meanwhile - PHOT long.
Illigence - when the problem that was the flagship of your argument starts getting fixed, what material will you turn to next?
I want to hear more of your negatives, all I see here is a broken record that mumbles dilution with every skip.
What do you have to say about the warrants? Are you able to make any further criticism of this company?
I want to read your best shot, really persuade me this time. Tell me how it is.
Mjna dropping below .09.
Phot has timing, structure and visibility to its advantage!
Yup, reading comprehension takes another one.
The post he was 'duped' by was one saying no one would know if it hits .02 - 1.50 in the future.
Hahaha curt fish - you are rallying against the very thing this company is a part of trying to get other operations out of - legal troubles. Oh wait, phot's kiosk would have prevented those raids? No way! I feel like I'm talking to children sometimes.
Empty, no surprise on Friday.
How about some more of your perspective? Why do you think this is a pump and dump as opposed to a rising company in an expanding industry?
Wagon - correct, anything but random.
I follow the industry and community daily, I have a list of shops that were hit and why. Phot's kiosk would have helped if not prevented the issues for these shops.
Never mind a phototron, with a single 600watt lamp, tent and ventilation - one regular rec user can produce enough of 3-4 strains for themselves and friends for a year.
The phototron will remain a hot item for those looking to start off with one strain. Variety however, is the spice of life. People quickly tire of indulging in one strain for too long.
In regards to taxes - prices will still be cheaper or at same range as black market. Growers will be competing with each other over quality, quantity and best prices. High producers of good quality will come out on top. This is why phot is vetting each GIFT candidate thoroughly.
Nrcmedia- led lighting is new technology and not the only profit maker here. As I've said before, when tech improves and production cost reduces, LEDs will start taking in a larger chunk of the market.
Cooler running lights with less need of giant ac systems for cooling and lower overall power usage are already ways led lights are helping. Like solar panels, the cost to acquire is high - the payback over time is greater.
Phot will likely offset the dilution.
Not this quarter.
It's funny to read both positive and negative postings.
Whether you have stars in your eyes for phot like porky or hate phot with undying passion like jumpingmullet, the truth is rather simple.
This is an investment for long term investors who are betting on further political victories in favor of Mj.
This is a company with a business plan to put them on the front lines for providing equipment to the Mj industry. Not just growers, not just dispensaries - the entire industry.
Because of the legal ambiguity of this industry, they need leaders with distinct legal experience. Phot already had this. Sounds like the new deal gives phot real business savvy participants and this is where the company will begin.
Shorts will come and go, but a lot are swinging with their emotions and letting the ups and downs get to them. It's not about what the stock does today or tomorrow - it's where the company will be in a year's time, in two year's time.
Some questions to ponder -
Do you think a dispensary has a far greater chance to avoid a raid such as the ones in CO if they would have phot's kiosk to help operate within legal guidelines?
Do you think individuals and large operations will be inclined to take advantage of the GIFT program for their grows?
Do you think LED lighting will develop a serious customer base as the technology improves and production becomes cheaper?
Do you believe their online and store placement is strategic enough to take advantage of high volume purchase areas?
This is clearly the most ambitious and trustworthy public Mj related company at the moment. If that changes, I'll let you guys know.
1love - unfortunately it was confirmed that these shops weren't playing by the rules.
Any shops operating within state guidlelines will be safe. It pays to know your abilities in the legal world.
Well Illigence -
Since you've been so right about everything so far (snicker), I better listen to what you have to say!
You're right, it really is a shame they have financing now to ensure goals for expansion are met.
If you had one neutral post here besides spewing dilution pig this and dilution cow that - then I'd say you have some credibility.
haha illigence!
Keep pushing buddy. You're someone without a clue about the industry, who makes condescending remarks about cannabis. Why even come to these boards?
Hopefully it retraces back to .06 for a moment then so you and me can scoop up more shares huh?
Dilution Pig has been your trademark message and it's great to see you still touting it and not giving up even in the face of some of the best news this company has ever had.
This is expansion capital and what they do from here will be important.
Take care
His post history says it all.
Not to mention it's still the same company.
Rob with the energy and Sterling with the wisdom.
Hopefully they learned the lesson to set more realistic goals in the future or to issue a warning that goals won't be met.
In any other job it is great to set unrealistic goals and just barely miss them because the end product would still be higher than with a more realistic goal. This is not the same with the market. Had these guys set an unrealistic goal and exceeded it, we'd be dancing with higher pps right now.
I want to see revised expectations in this next quarter. I want to see progress in financing. I want to hear reviews on these kiosks and participants in the gift program.
I think of all these, the gift program will be the hardest to accomplish. You can't finance if you aren't financed, and you want to ensure participants aren't the types to take the equipment and disappear.
Great ideas, but you don't build empires in such short time. Expansion may have to slow down a tick to ensure goals are met.
Dude - so because these men are involved in the pot industry, they by default must be complete pot heads?
Again, did you listen to the interview? Did they sound high?
Clearly nothing is healthy in excess, pot included. You are reaching insanely far to try and portray these guys as mega stoners - which neither of them sound to be.
Did you know people who smoke it can quit? That there is a thing after college called adulthood that a vast majority outside of your ex wife's clan adapt to?
I suppose all bar owners are alcoholics or must drink every single day too right? Do your rules of assumption apply to everyone?
Truly a pathetic attempt to compare your spouses relatives with this company.
This is the best you can muster? Make me believe your side!
