That's not a sash, it is a poncho.
Not that there's anything wrong with that.
I think she was referring to the part where you call us all gay.
Well, bare with me a second while I think of another.
LOL
That is two funny!
Two points lance,
1. I am surprised to see a rule that one is not "allowed" to post private messages for all to see. I had always thought that it was more of a matter of manners, custom, etc. If somebody sends me a PM that contains nasty, vulgar, threatening, rude or obnoxious content, I will post it for all to see. I don't see why that should be a violation of the TOU. So, I'm with you on this one.
2. There are two different words that have two different meanings. These words are "than" and "then." You frequently use the word "than" when you should be using the word "then." It is kind of like the "your" and "you're" issue..... but even more so.
Seems like a good idea to me too.
But, I have to say that this Ken guy comes off as a first-class prick.
Maybe it is just a broker thing...or a California thing. There is a certain slickness....and a boastfulness....like a really good used car salesman. Maybe all brokers are assholes, or have to pretend to be to get the job done.
I know, though, that when I hire a professional I expect him to act like he remembers who is writing the checks.

tonik's gide t'life on th'streets
(yea, i gots a new street name now. tha' means we're in a new city now. we're headin west. dun ask me t'be more spesifik.)
chapter 7 / traveling
this is, o'course, don much easyer if ye gots y'r own car. but sins th'majority o'homeless ppl don' gots on, or hapined t'leev their VIPER wi'a total stranger on th'other side of th'cuntry (ok, mebbe i'm th'only homeless kid who beened in tha' situashin) i will direkt this chapter at th'veikleless streetrats.
th'sekind best thing t'havein y'r own car is haveing sumone els. i aint gonna detale how t'hotwire a car f'r ye heer. if ye dun no how ye probly wudn' get away wi'it anyway. jus' remember not t'leev any finger prints an' t'abandon th' car n get a new one ev'ry cuple states or ye'll get screwed. also dun bother filling up gas. jus' dich th'car an' get a new one. this saves lotsa cash, n also avoids th'chance of getting ye an' th'stoled car recognized by sum gas stashin person. ye dun wants tha'. if its jus' transportashin ye wants take sumthin common an' unobtrusive.
aiite, so if ye gots sumthin aginst boostin cars, but ye still wants t'ride on sumone els's weels, ther's allus hichhiking. as a genral rule i'd advise grand theft auto o'er hichhiking. its less dangerous. most undangerus ppl wi'any sense won't pick up hichhikers. but if y'r gonna be a moron an' do it anyway, heer is advise (comeing frum sumone who has ridden wi' ALMOST as meny complete strangers as i sleeped with ^_~):
*allus, allus, allus be armed. well. this, o'course, is about rule #1 of street life in genral anyhow but mos'espeshily wen gettin into cars wi'ppl ye dun no. this is one o'th'only times tho i'd say take knives o'er guns; in close spaces they're better an' less likely t'get u kilt (only probly seryusly maimed ^_~) in a struggle.
*dun try t'look like sum nice kid sumone wudn' mind givein a ride to. this mite get ye a ride kwiker, but s'also likelyer t'get ye a ride wi'sumone who sees ye as a nice kid tha'd be easy t'rape an' disembowel.
*truckers have a tuff rep but on th'roads they gots a desint code of honor. asides, truckers carrying a shipment gots a deadline t'keep so they're less likely t'take time out t'do all tha' rapeing an' murderin crap.
so now offa cars. n onto buses! th'cheapest way t'travel if ye gots ishues wi'steeling an'riskin bloody roadside death. cheapest, tho, still aint FREE, wich is allus how i likes t'do things. if y'r one o'those migratry homeless kids tha' moves back n forth between two or three citys dependin on th'seasin, make frends wi'bus drivers on routes between th'places ye wants t'go. sumtimes if they gots space they'll give ye a lift - s'like hichhiking only minus th'risk. tho, if the bus fills up afore ye get wer y'r goin ye get throwed out in favor of th'paying customers, but tha's life.
if ye dun gots time t'butter up th'bus drivers n y'r jus' a vagrant tha' goes wiche'er way th'winds blowin, ye'll probly be stuck payin. but if y'r a good actor make up a convinceing sob story about why ye desprately need t'get t'wiche'er city y'r headin to, then work on other travelers at th'bus depo. a cuple times ive gotted ppl t'buy my hole ticket f'r me
ons upon a time i wud of included a bit in heer about sneeking ont' airplanes, but since 9/11 fuck tha' shit. dun e'en bother. if ye wants t'fly y'r gonna hafta pay. n if ye pay cash or buy one way tickets they ALLUS fuckin serch ye now. s'still farely eesy t'get wepons on bord but i wudn advise tryin. s'a shitlod of more dangerus than tryin t'jack cars e'en.
so there's that.

why didn't I think of that?
A little bug report to put in the hopper for when one of you has time, isn't sick, getting lucky, or whatever:
When I hit "Next 50" on a thread and the remaining messages are all by persons I have on ignore, I get the following message:
No Messages.

Wow, you are good. You convinced Matt to remove the "ignored by" feature.
Fortunately, unlike here, the people on SI wouldn't be so immature as to ignore you for no reason:

What happened to the Penny King?
I owned SYTE once, years ago. It was a POS then, and still is IMO.
LOL!
That was the funniest thing I've seen all night.
You should be released just on the basis of that pithy post.
In re the thread title here....
I had been pretty sure of the answer before the election, but it's nice to have confirmation.
<gg>
Man it sure is cool here at iHub. I don't know why I didn't do all my posting here before. SI sucks. I should have stopped posting there anyway.
Yeah...that's the ticket.
I freely admit that my posts are pure crap.
And, my numerous followers are far too busy worshipping satan and such to help you out.
I'll let you have the last word on this, there, Phil.
Nah. It's just that sometimes I just don't have time to listen enough!
I see.
Well, if you go back and take a look at my original post on the subject, you'll see that I only toggle on the giant ignore list when there are hundreds of posts I need to get through. It is nothing against the people on the list. Generally, the list is toggled off, which is why I still see your impressive contributions to iHub's content.
You might as well go back to SI and bury your head in the sand.
Huh?
Why should I go back to SI?
And why do you want me to bury my head in the sand?
Are you back on the sauce or something?
It's a great list!
Can't say I blame you.
We're an annoying lot.
Columbus, with a little bit of Athens thrown in for flavor.
What did you say, I can't hear you, I have you on ignore.
So don't I.
I have a giant filter list that I toggle on when there are, like, 400 messages on the Jail or Q&A thread, and I just want to get through to see if there is anything new or important. It works like a charm. Let the offending begin:

U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission
LITIGATION RELEASE NO. 18879 / September 10, 2004
SECURITIES AND EXCHANGE COMMISSION v. MICHAEL B. JOHNSON, MICHAEL JOHNSON & CO., LLC, DAVID C. SKINNER, JR. AND AMERICAN TELEVISION AND FILM COMPANY f/k/a WINNERS INTERNET NETWORK, INC., No. 04-RB-0626 (USDC D. Colorado).
The United States Securities and Exchange Commission (Commission) announced that on April 2, 2004, the United States District Court for the District of Colorado entered an injunction by consent against American Television and Film Company (American Television). The court's order permanently enjoins American Television from violating Sections 10(b), 13(a) and 13(b)(2) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and Rules 10b-5, 12b-20, 13a-1, 13a-11 and 13a-13 thereunder.
The Commission's complaint alleged that between December 1999 and December 1999 and December 2000, American Television, then known as Winners Internet Network, Inc. (Winners), carried out a scheme to defraud investors by filing reports and a registration statement with the Commission containing false financial statements that fraudulently overstated Winners' revenues, income, assets and cash inflows and understated expenses. Further, between January and October 2000, Winners reviewed or disseminated three promotional analyst reports containing baseless financial projections. American Television consented to the court's order without admitting or denying the Commission's allegations.

Some bad mojo here.
The iHub site is barely functioning for me, long loads, page loads without my color preferences, etc.
I just did an Ad-Aware scan, my second of the day, and discovered three Clearsearch (particularly nasty Adware) files that weren't there earlier in the day. I can't say I got them from here, but it seems most likely given my limited surfing today.
I'm gonna shut down and run about a kajillion different virus/adware/malware/spyware scans.
Seems to me to be acting like your standard malware that we all get on our PCs from time to time (at least that I used to get before I installed half a dozen different spyware/adware killers). You delete it, but it is seeded down deep in the registry or someplace else, so that it just continues to reinsert itself every time the system reboots or backs up or whatever.
OF course, I am a complete idiot on these things, as just about anyone can tell you.

I have never ran an AntiVirus program.
Obviously, I don't recommend this to others. Just my preference.
People make viruses out to be something that is easy to get. But with a little common sense, you won't get touched by one.
Common sense:
1) Always read the msg before opening an attachment. If it sounds odd, then it probably is!
2) Don't open any attachments that have odd extensions .idz, .i anything. And be *very* careful about EXE programs. Nobody I know ever seends me EXE programs.
3) Generally, the only thing I get via attachments is .doc files and image files. Anything else, I don't open.
4) Another way is, that, when you pull down to view the attachment via Outlook, Windows should associate the filetype to a normal program (Word, IE, etc). If it doesn't and gives you an icon you have never seen before, DON'T OPEN IT.
Get educated on viruses. Sometimes, even with a virus scanner, you won't even realize you've gotten one, because you just opened a file, executed it, not paying attention. It only took me doing this one time in 1998 to figure it all out.
MB virus free since 1998
