bearclaw,
I agree with you. Why in the world would anyone mind giving out their name and address and email address to any company?
That's so silly! The only reason I can think of is if somebody had something to hide....like maybe they were doing unsavory things to the stock and didn't want anyone to know their names and whereabouts.
As for the remarks about a couple of people being threatened by officers of the company...that is just a d-amn lie!
I have personally read the missives in question and for gosh sakes...where is everyone's sense of humor?? What was said about the alligators was a JOKE!!!! Must not be too many Southerners on here. Any red-blooded Southerner would KNOW that!
Ok, now that I've gotten my pretty little feathers in a ruffle, I've forgotten what I was going to say next. LOL!
Have a good one!
Good to see you too bike! I cracked up on the "instead of "end of first quarter" think "end of a quarter."
How true, how true. In fact, that is a lesson I learned a long time ago. If you're going to project when something is going to be finished, always give a date beyond when you think it'll actually be done. That way if you finish early, people are always pleasantly surprised.
I was gone mainly because of tax season...but then there wasn't anything to talk about either. I barely had time to read this message board, much less post anything. But for the next few weeks I have some time on my hands, and for the first time in a long time, there was actually something new to talk about...the conference call. Hopefully soon there will be something else new to talk about.....PRODUCTION!
cardvic,
Just saw your note, and I agree. In my mind, a buyback would be the thing to do....but if they're buying back shares at this point in time, then we wouldn't know about it until they were finished when they would then have to tell us. But they'd be foolish not to be buying back, IMO anyway. Not when one can grab 500 million shares for a mere $50,000. (I'm assuming here that the company could buy on the bid).
Wouldn't take too much buying like that to grab up most of the shares. But, time will tell.
As to your bond question, yes, that was brought up and it's basically because the bond market was going down the tubes and if PHGI had used the bonds, they would've been saddled with a lot of debt. A city in New York was used as an example as to how much more it was costing them than what they had budgeted for.
I always try and think outside the box and I know that had I been a CEO, I would've thought of other means. Easier said than done. It's always easier to be an armchair quarterback and be able to look at things with the benefit of hindsight.
In fact, I think that's one reason that I've never completely given up on PHGI. I can see John doing things that I would've done when faced with unexpected obstacles. I'll mull something over in my mind and twist it and turn it and somehow always seem to make it come out. And I'm also stubborn as h-ell, just like John said in the call that he was. I could relate to everything that he said. He's an "outside the box" thinker as well.
Screamer,
You can use the term tent if you want, but that would NOT be an accurate portrayal of what was described in the conference call.
Instead of "tent", think "state of the art." Now I have not personally seen this nor have I ever even seen the webcam, but if I were told that this company has technology that no other plant in North America has (and that is pretty much what we were told...or at the worst that very few have), then I would deem it to be prudent to not just use the word "Tent".
From what I could gather in the conference call, when production DOES start, there might be some who are very much surprised at the caliber of the technology and what it can do. Lord, I sure hope so.
trade,
I'm with you man. I think that when we get the PR about actual production taking place that I will have to go get snockered....and I hardly ever even drink!!! LOL!!!
Jeez....it is just taking soooo loong! (sigh)
But on the other hand, the delay has caused me to own more shares of a company than I ever dreamt were possible! I'm either going to be considering myself to be a genius in the future or considering myself to be a dolt.
Until the conference call, I was leaning towards dolt, but now there is at least some hope for the genius label. :)
But regardless, my dogs still love me!!!
Shorts,
Great summary...Just one personal clarification...No, I am not satisfied with the long delays...and am most certainly not satisfied with the share price...but the call did answer for me one question that I had....were they moving forward or were they about to give up?
I think it became crystal clear throughout the call that giving up was not an option, and that they were moving forward on all counts. So, I thought, well maybe there is hope for my shares after all.
I did buy a few more shares yesterday, just because...why not?
It's only money. LOL! But I figure if they ever do pull this thing off and if it ever reaches .01 again, I will be a very happy camper! If they don't, then next year I'll have a nicer tax write-off....and I'll need one to cover the gains that I've been making elsewhere.
But I really, really hope that they make it!!!! There have been so many of us who have been rooting for them for so long.
I'd like to see just once the downtrodden guys win.
Boatman,
I'm sorry to hear that you haven't received the shares yet. Have you tried calling the TA directly and checking on whether any orders have come through from PHGI to start the ball rolling?
DI,
I don't know where the c-rap about no feedstock came from! As any who were on the conference call can verify, PHGI definitely stated that they had the feedstock in hand and the manager of the plant, Lamar someone, with a deep southern accent, stated that they could produce from 12 to 20 million gallons of fuel per year. Nothing was stated that I can remember about how much per gallon profit could be made.
The reasons were given regarding the new technology as to why it is so important that more than one kind of feedstock can be used. I believe that it was stated that no other plant in North America, at this time, has the capability that PHGI has in using the different feedstocks.
You can believe the 12 to 20 million gallons per year or you can not, but that is DEFINITELY what was stated!!!!!!!
It was also stated that what can be seen on the webcams does NOT give an accurate portrayal of the way things actually are. (The webcams make everything look smaller, we were told).
Argonath,
No,nothing was mentioned about the lawsuit. I had actually forgotten about it until you mentioned it. And you're right. Legal ramifications can shut down even the best of businesses. I'll never forget what the Dalkon Shield did to A. H. Robins.
Well, gee, I wish I had thought about it. However, with the plant close to production, hopefully they will be able to settle it and it will become a non-issue.
bc,
I'm sorry that you were not able to listen to the call. It answered my main question. Is Perihelion forging ahead with plans or are they giving up?
The call emphatically answered that question. They are forging ahead. One decision that they made that was very unpopular, but that I wholeheartedly agree with, was to decide to upgrade the refinery so that it could handle different types of feedstocks. I'm sorry that I was not able to take any notes, but I had just arrived at the Outer Banks and didn't have any paper.
Apparently there was a mix-up from the conference call company about the time. They had thought that it was to take place at 4:00 PM Pacific Time instead of Eastern time, so there was a lot of scrambling to get the access codes out.
I had put in two blistering, scathing phone calls bawling them out bigtime for the fact that I didn't receive an access code. Then at about 4:20, I got one. The call didn't begin until everyone was on board. Like bearclaw, I was very impressed with shorts demeanor and questions. Totally different than what I had expected. Shorts actually sounded human! LOL!
After the CC, I called back and told them to disregard my previous two phone calls. LOL again!
The gold mine has tons of regulations and hoops to jump through, but PHGI is slowly, step by step jumping through them. It's vital that they have all the correct permssions or they could be shut down.
I got the impression of some very hard-working people doing their utmost to get this company going. They admitted that their timeframe wasn't what they had thought it would be, but the most promising thing to me was that they were still keeping on keeping on. I got the impression that the plant is very close to production. The figure of 12 to 20 million gallons per year was given. One figure was with just the inside tanks and the other included the outside tanks as well.
Apparently PHGI is the only company right now in North America that will be able to process the various mixtures that they will be able to process. I hope that someone can help me out here with the details of that.
I think that probably not much has been reported about the call yet because everyone who heard it is probably at least thinking of buying more shares. Who knows? All in all, I thought that it was a very professional call. Some good questions were asked. The main question that I had was answered by the call itself. One person asked about the dreaded RS question, and my impression was that although everything was considered, they really do not want nor plan to do a reverse split. There are other ways of taking care of all those shares. That last sentence wasn't from them, but from me. There are some great ways to take care of those shares that would not be dilutive.
I plan to hold onto the shares that I have. I think that PHGI does have a future. Again, I really do wish that you could've heard the call.
Hey greedfl!
I remember when Circuit City was a small store (just off of Broad St) called Wards TV. This was back in the early 1970's.
Wards TV had a really good reputation, but I never dreamt in a million years that it would morph into Circuit City. I'm still not quite sure how that happened. The headquarters of Circuit City is still just off of Broad St., but farther west from where Wards TV used to be.
Now wouldn't it be nice if PHGI could morph in that same way?
(Had to add that so that my post wouldn't be off-topic) LOL!
Bull,
That was a GREAT post! Thank you.
lol!
You've gotta be kidding! Of COURSE IRS is interested in the purchase price of the shares. If you've ever done an audit, you KNOW that is one of the items that IRS is most interested in. I mean, how else can they know the basis of the stock when it's sold?
So.....what's the big deal? Are you trying to scare someone? As long as the person has their ducks lined up in a row, and makes things as easy as possible for the auditor, things don't usually turn out too badly. Unless, of course, the person is hiding lots and lots of income....but then that's a different story. But any auditor worth their salt can smell out concealed income in a heartbeat...mainly because people get too greedy and just don't think of how their lifestyle can align with what they report on their taxes. Gotta think about things like that. Don't buy a fancy car unless you're willing to realize that you might have to be explaining where you got the money for it, if that money is not already reported on your tax return.
But I think I got off the subject. My point is....everyone seems to panic whenever IRS is mentioned....but the scenario that you raised is just not that big a deal. Nice try though.
AB,
Unfortunately I have to leave for most of the rest of the day.
Darn! And it was such fun being here with you this morning. :)
Well, carry on! Perhaps more troops will arrive soon!
Who said there was? I just said to say "Hi".
Listening to the wrong people? I don't think so, bucko!
No way. The people I listen to are honest and don't make fun and post stupid & cruel April Fool's Jokes. That was the wrong thing for you to do in my book....and now I'm p*ssed! And nothing is more lethal than a P-issed off woman!
Hey! That was pretty good! I was guessing that you'd come out with reverse split rumors or something similar.
But the audited financial bit is a pretty slick move!
GOOD TRY!!! I see that Ozzie is thinking well today.
Say "Hi" to the security guard!
Around the Block,
They are waiting for instructions from........
THE WIZARD OF OZ!!!!
Don't mind me....just skipping down the yellow (hedgie) brick road....he he hah hah!
I don't know what soulwasher will say, but my answer, for which nobody asked, but I'll give it anyway is this:
Don't ever listen to anyone who tries to teach morals! lol
Everyone should read again this one paragraph from this morning's PR.
No way on Earth does that not show intent to begin mining production.
With this additional permit, the Company is permitted to begin installing equipment and preparing the designated mining area for commencement of mining operations. The Company acquired the Storm Water Permit in addition to permits received for Small Mining Operations (State of Utah, received April 2007), Small Mine Reclamation (State of Utah, received April 2007), Right of Way Grant Over Federal Land (US Dept. of Interior-BLM, received June 2007), and Amended Small Mining Operations (State of Utah, received October 2007).
That is very true Screamer. We do need a solid PR...about production beginning in OPP!
And oh my gosh....I just realized something...for the first time in months I've got to call the company. I guess that it's too late tonight...so I'll have to make it tomorrow.
Later!
Well, I know someone who had a buy order in all day for .0002.
How come that person didn't get filled?
Why did the MM's mess around after hours with that price?
Pre-planned trade? Clearing the books? Playing shuffle bunny?
LOL! My thoughts exactly!
Come on guys....share. I'll start. I can't remember the symbol of this one....but there was a stock trading at a penny back in 1995. I looked at it....almost bought 100,000 shares....and now here is where the story gets sad. I ALMOST bought 100,000 shares on let's say it was a Wednesday.
On Thursday, that penny stock went all the way to $1.00!!!!
True story. I had never seen a stock do that before. Was I sick about it? You betcha!! One of those coulda, shoulda stories.
Actually,
I think that an even smarter move would be for you to buy all the shares that you can this morning. I think that you'd be able to make up your $4000 loss and then some.
blackcat,
Now then, you see? I knew there was a reason I like you! We always seem to be on the same page. Thanks!
kuan,
There might not be a Santa Claus, or an Easter Bunny, but I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt that there IS magic in the world. And the greatest magic of all is love.
Those who dwell in the darkness sneer at it and try to snuff out it's light....but if the magic is true enough and strong enough, it eventually bursts through.
I believe that PHGI has some of that magic. I know that I have it in my own personal life. That's why I can recognize it when I see it. You, too, have that magic Kuan. I can feel it in every post that you write. Keep letting that wonderful magic of yours shine....and you too will step out into the light.
Or in other words...."just keep on truckin'"
If there is a close of .0002, I know of some who will be buying as many of those shares as they can afford!
That was no pre-market pump! Where is that logical head of yours? That PR this morning was GREAT news! Not as great as hearing about REVENUES, but great in that it shows intention.
In other words, the gold mine is not dead, as some on here have been implying. One does not go to the time and trouble of getting a storm water permit without intending on being able to use it.
As I've kept saying all along....as long as I see progress being made....I maintain the hope. This PR shows progress.
Well, chris,
I know someone who bought at .0003 today. I was told it was because "why not?"
So, anyway, time for some war stories. Anyone have a story about a stock that went this low and then came back once revenues started flowing in?
And.....how many on here think that we'll get a PR by the end of the month about production beginning in Opp? And if we do, what are some of the theories as to where the stock price will go?
DI,
That is not even funny. I don't work that way. If I did, trust me, I would be having more than a yacht!
What kind of storm?
LOL! That was good....I was just wondering the same thing.
Actually, I think it's because it's Easter...and everyone just wants to take a break for a few days...and besides the market was closed on Friday...which I forgot about...and I was sitting there wondering why none of my stocks were trading yet.
I hope that everyone had a good weekend.
Well,
According to the recent PR's, by the end of the month production should be starting at the biofuel plants. That's within 14 days. If it happens, the price will reflect the increased optimism from shareholders.
Hey Boatman,
I agree...good job with saving that girl's life. And thanks for the heads up on Route 1. I guess I have Keyitis..I had not even heard about the tie-up until I read your post tonight. Having too much fun to watch TV. But thanks anyway.
Not too busy to talk about PHGI though. I might be the cause of a few more million shares being bought. What's a million or two amongst friends? The share price held up pretty well today. I'm looking forward to a PR about the commencement of production. I hope that we get one soon.
oh please shorts....
You know as well as I do that there were no profit takers.
A good portion of those trades were buys at the bid...I know this for a FACT!
Others were probably mm's trading amongst themselves...or maybe some shorts covering....or yes, maybe some shares being floated in.
You keep pounding about the shares....I'm going to keep pounding about the revenues. According to the latest PR's, it shouldn't be long now.
Why don't you go bother the CDE board? CDE has a WHOLE LOT more shares out than PHGI does.
Oh.....I forgot....CDE has REVENUES! See? What does the share count matter when there are good revenues!
ok, ok....I'm going away for real now. Didn't want to go outside until I could call and see if I could get in a swim with dolphins in a couple of days. I've swum with them in the wild....totally fell in love....now I think it would be fun to swim where they would pull me on their fins and give me kisses.
bearclaw,
Yeah, but we just have to keep on keeping on....don't we?
You have a good day too.
shorts,
Careful there....I've been in the market long enough to have seen some reverse splits do absolutely WONDERFULLY! It all depends on what kind of news comes out with the split.
I was in a stock once (can't remember it's name)...where it did a reverse split and immediately quadrupled in value.
And I'll always remember FTEL. Reverse split and within 6 months had increased 10x in value. It all depends upon what's happening with the revenues.
So....quit trying to scare these nice people with talk of splits.
Ok, gotta go....the pool and the hammocks are calling me. :)
chris,
Good question....and the answer is obvious. No one would want to sell at .0004 if people are buying at .0005.
BUT, if the .0004 were not a pre-arranged buy, then it could also be other things...such as more dilution. Float in the extra shares to the MM's at .0004 so that they can sell them at .0005.
Although nobody but nobody likes dilution, as long as revenues start coming in, the negative effects of dilution can be overcome. It all depends upon the revenues, and whether there will be enough revenues to generate profits.
Take CDE, for example. They've done some major dilution recently, but their projected revenues (from silver mining) will eventually more than make up for that.
It also depends upon what the extra shares are for. Are they for the purpose of lining insiders' pockets or are they for the purpose of growing the company? In CDE's case, it's for growing the company. And, although there are some on here that would disagree, I believe that any dilution that PHGI has done is also for that same purpose.
Chris,
AH is after hours.
Good luck to you! Hope you make millions! Really!
Argonath,
Good advice that you're giving Chris there. I see that you are new to PHGI....am I being correct in assuming that your DD piqued your interest in this stock? I see that you have some respect on IHUB as you've been peoplemarked by 17 people.
I know that there was a lot of buying today.....maybe some of that was yours. Most of the buying took place at .0005. The stock held up pretty well. Now that AH trade at .0004 could be a number of things. We'll be able to tell more tomorrow I think. Sometimes when I've seen that happen AH it's a pre-arranged buy...other times it is not. The coming few weeks will tell the tale.
OT: Screamer....I'll be checking out the Island Fish company tomorrow. Thanks!
OT: Hey Boatman! Thanks for recommending Lori Lei! I had lunch there today and it was TERRIFIC! You were right..great Key ambience at that place.
Now...a note for you....next time that you eat there...ask for a cute little waitress by the name of Wendy (She was working day shift today..I was there around 2PM). She's from Michigan...just moved to the Keys two months ago...and she's great! I told her that I would tell you about her and for you to tell her that "juanly" sent you. I told her that I knew you as "Boatman." And Boatman, if you do get her as a waitress....leave her a big tip! :) She's really good..and really cute!
