Ima- you are right the short interest is listed at around 7%. The daily short numbers don't mean anything and simply represent the way a trade is reported.
Too many people miss represent the daily numbers.
It does appear speculation is building in our favor at least for now.Hopefully when we reach higher levels this time we are close enough to data release that shorts won't have a chance to pull it down again.
ringao- I have no complaints about where we all hope INO is heading. I also agree with you that in the long run Kim most likely knows exactly where this stock is headed.
Like you I have also been encouraged by the fact that insiders are buying rather than selling. A very good sign IMO.
My most recent post was more to address the blatant manipulation I thought I had left behind when I left the OTC market. INO files every form the way they are supposed to. The company does not pump the stock but does supply information through the proper channels. Again another good sign.
The thing about the recent action that could have concerned me a little is the fact that we are now dealing with a new customer base. When INO traded pre split, even on good days we would trade 8 million shares or so. At 2.50 that works out to about 20 million in dollar volume. We recently did about 10 million trades at around 9-10 dollars a share post split. That's closer to 100 million in dollar volume. That is a whole lot of "new" money.
While the company had nothing to do with it, we will have to see how the new money feels about an attack happening as soon as they get involved.
IMO there are so many things that could drive the stock price up at any time.
1) an announcement that they have reached goals that would
release payments from the Roche agreement.
2) trial results
3) partnerships for new trials and testing
4) any news about what may be happening at one of the new
facilities
Unfortunately we have all seen cases where companies that have great technology are treated very poorly by those that don't want to see anyone mess with their own cash cow.
I believe Kim will have his day, and we will have ours!!!
This was easy to predict!
From Post 11664
We all knew it was coming, but he does not seem to be aware of the ways you can dampen such blows to the PPS. The timing of this announcement was again in his complete control. Why not make an announcement like that when he already has other more positive information ready to be PR'd
Unless he develops a strategy for handling this type of information we will get hurt again when the actual split takes place. I say that because I believe anyone interested in shorting the stock will take advantage of the lofty looking 8-10 dollar a share price when the conversion takes place and think it will be easy pickings. If on the other hand, the split takes place and he has good news to announce at the same time, the share price would have a chance to not only hold it's new level but move up from there.
If there is no news put out on the adjustment date I expect there to be a sell off of up to 25% over the following days. Sorry but I'm a little tired of these types of hits that don't really have to take place if they are handled correctly.
While I have never shorted a stock, it was obvious that those that do would take advantage of the situation.
I stated earlier I think the market is as crooked as you can get. Manipulation that we have seen, based on hit pieces by people with agendas (I believe they are paid for)should be illegal.
Why isn't it? The difference between the bid and the ask was fairly wide at times. (.05 or more) Market Makers were able to make some serious money on both the rise and the fall due to those spreads. Why would they want to change things?
News out by the company for next trials. I give Dr Kim credit because he has been offering support information just as I had said I hoped he would.
A few good things are happening right now. As everyone can see, the volume related to price has spiked since the split. During the fall we were seeing volume between 2-5 million shares. That represented between 4-12 million in trades. By contrast 3 million in trades now is worth 30 million dollars. It's important to support that kind of dollar volume and Kim definitely seems to understand that.
I for one appreciate the way the company is responding!
Sorry cracity I have to agree with Peter on this one. $25 would only be a triple from here. There hasn't even been any results announced yet. If news is good on the first set of trials you know that will raise the excitement for subsequent trials.
While I too feel there will be more dilution in the future, none of us know that for sure. If they start hitting the standards needed to collect on the $400 million from Roche that would cover the cost of numerous trials without burning too much cash on hand.
Also if they are indeed starting new trials no one can say if they will again partner with another company. As has been said INOs bargaining position gets a little stronger with each successful trial.
Any failed trial would obviously damage the companies position.
Peter - I agree with you except for one area. Big Pharma is needed to market our pipe line when that time comes. Therefore we will be partnering with people all the time.
I think the Roche deal is a model for what we will see in the future. Why not let someone with deep pockets take the risk out of the cost of trials? We could take a smaller percentage of sales if we don't have to spend 400 million up front. If you are doing that with multiple drugs at any given time the excitement level would be incredible. Giving up the right to market a drug does not mean giving up the ability to profit.
Let those that sell sell. We develop so let's develop. Let those with all the big bucks put up the money. Each does what they specialize in with virtually no risk To INO or it's cash on hand.
Another partnership to cover another trial(different drug) will push the stock up. Success of any kind could trigger payments from Roche which would strengthen the balance sheet again pushing the stock up. As this cycle continues eventually a drug comes to market creating on going revenue. As our delivery system is used by others to increase the effectiveness of their drugs another revenue stream adds to the balance sheet.
Rinse and repeat. The problem with going it alone is you will still most likely partner with others to market.
I understand where you are coming from and respect it. It's nice for those that have the ability to share your position. I've been learning the market by living in it. Crash course so to speak. Trying to make up for lost time by hopefully find the "right" one. I'm here for a reason, I think this is that right one!
I know some take offense when I make statements that make it sound like I am down on moves made by Dr. Kim. I write that way because I want to see INO reach the highest levels it deserves to be at. IMO the market is crooked at it's core but it is still a financial tool. The timing of certain actions can most definitely affect share price. That is why I called for news after the split announcement. The stock pulled back for a day (friday) until the next news(monday) reversed the trend again. I would have liked to see the same thing now that the date has been announced.
Personally I think the stock would have traded high enough soon without a split--that is why I talked negatively about the split. I think fund managers will eat up any number of shares that exist with good trial data or the announcement of another partnership.
Hell Kim could already have a partnership being evaluated for every different application for all we know. The potential is endless.
If data is great this jumps big IMO. If data is good it starts a stair step movement with some pull backs. If data is poor hopefully we'll see a back up strategy already in place.
Just as I like to see Dr.Kim attract fund managers I am also interested in chartists, day traders, insiders, retail investors and anyone else that can move the market.
IMO we are ALL both investor and trader. Parameters are different for each of us. Most investors would become traders immediately if someone offered them $1000 a share. Just an example to make a point.
I wish everyone here good luck and thank those that provide information.
I also understand the strategy Kim is using to lower outstanding shares so that the new demand should drive prices faster once they start buying. Price means nothing for fund managers.
pmgtrader- Some of what cracity says is true. It's just the way the market works. If you have any questions about shorting and what they can do to a stock it's easy to find information proving it.
Don't be mislead by anyone claiming the DAILY short numbers mean anything. Most often that number simply reflects the way trades are made during the day. Finra actually puts out meaningful short data on the 15th and the 30th of each month. Those numbers can be very important to show trends.
For the most part the split is being handled pretty well. The reactions are often swift but temporary as we have seen here. Dr Kim did help the process by releasing good news to stem the selling.
We will need some sort of support for a couple of days around the 5th.
Everywhereman- I'm just curious as to what you look at as complaining. I hope you also understand that some people (myself included) use you as a sounding board because you mention fairly often that you have a relationship with Dr Kim. Seems like a
constructive and fairly direct channel for expressing ideas.
I'm sorry if that is misreading things. I ask these questions because I have questioned Dr Kim on a number of timing issues. I'm invested because I believe there is incredible "potential" for this company. That potential doesn't mean Kim shouldn't be just as concerned with doing things in a manner that the market responds to favorably.
That's money that is already "earned". Why give it away by mishandling it. If you wonder if my thoughts are sound consider my last scenario. I called Kim out for announcing the split too far ahead of the news needed to stop the sell off that would be taken as negative by the market. I said he would need to put out news to support the PPS. Friday was the split announcement and low and behold Monday the company puts out news.
There are many types of news that could be forth coming. Partnerships, trial results, revenue streams. These are all "tools" in the market.
Many times things don't happen just because they should. A look into what happened to Dendrion when it was suppose to make major breakthroughs. Certain things should have happened after favorable rulings from the committees that were set up to oversee their products. Unfortunately due to major manipulation the company was almost put out of business instead of rising tot he top.
Our partnership with Roche should put a lot of those things to rest since their deep pockets would offer some very valuable protection.
I would have liked to exchange some ideas with you before the share holders meeting. In fact I asked if you felt OK sending an email privately. Sorry that didn't work out for you. One of these weeks I'll send you a private message during the free period on Fridays.
I too hope everyone does incredibly well with INO. When I have a bank president asking me questions and wondering why things happen a certain way (because he knows they shouldn't) I will continue to ask questions.
Even though I haven't posted here until recently, I have been alerting people to INO for a few years now. It's just now I know a lot more about investing so I ask questions when things don't seem right.
I'm hoping we see some strong support here from some of those investors Kim is courting. At this price or anything lower I'm hoping he feels and can convince them it is a steal.
Everywhereman- You seem to be close to Dr Kim. He seems to be taking a position of courting new fund managers while disregarding what happens to retail investors.
If he is so interested in that type of investor, will he at least try to work with the forces that move PPS. I was again surprised by the fact that he chose a friday to release what is perceived by the market as negative news. Again a sell off day is compounded with bad news.
Everywhereman- Any chance you or one of your close group would PM an email for some private discussion? I'll keep it private.
An Opinion On Kim-- I took the time to call out Dr Kim when he made the split announcement during a run.
This time I would like to take a minute and ask whether others think he may have tipped his hand a little. IMO his stock purchase at 2.25 may have been a significant move. I looked at it as a confidence move made to keep the stock above a target price that seems to be $10. This time his buy seemed to give support during a sell off.
I believe Kim has a solid goal of keeping the price above 2.50. With a 4-1 split that puts the stock at $10. My opinion is he has been speaking with some sort of investment group that wants in but can't buy below $10. The idea of fund/money managers being a target has been mentioned a few times.
I have been looking to add this week at a set point that has come very close but not executed. IMO 2.50 and below is a instant winner.
Opinions from longs please. I would appreciate any honest opinions Everywhere and a few of you might have. I'm looking to buy as early as tomorrow. I've been a little down on the recent actions by Kim so I'm not sure of my timing.
It made me start to wonder about the advice he is getting when he killed the last run with the PR about the reverse split. He offered the reverse split as a way to raise share price. I would have been more interested to see where the run would have taken us all by itself. I also would have liked to see where it would have gone if aided by a little good news.
My question would be, how much more pullback might we see while everyone tries to figure out just what the effect of the reverse split might be. I really doubt we will hold the entire multiple when the split takes place. 1 for 4 = 4x price. If not is it better to purchase shares pre split or post split?
I know the last down day was on relatively low volume. Will we find support or continue down for a short period? I'm only looking to add 1000 shares so it's not much but if it's 1000 near 3 or 1500 near 2 that could make a big difference long term.
Any short term predictions anyone?
I agree with you and am just a little miffed that the announcement of good data news wouldn't be enough to start the stock on a move towards $5 Even if it didn't get there it could get close. Then any further news would push it over the top into the hands of those very institutions we're looking for. That could make for a very strong rally IMO. Long time investors holding, New eyes watching and Fund managers wanting in, WHAT MORE COULD A PERSON ASK FOR???
How about another partnership.
I have to say I thought the damage would be bigger from the recent news. Glad to be wrong!
To Everywhere and some of the board that have Kims ear. Over the past month, I have recommended INO to two business owners and a bank president. I have done so with the caution at least put it in your alerts so you receive any news that may prove to be a catalyst that could make the stock move very quickly.
My problem with recent events and why I am cautious. While Kim states an awareness of investors feelings, The move just made shows a lack of understanding of a basic market principal IMO. Why would you put out negative news (perceived) after the bell on a Thursday?
It's a fact that many "traders" will move out of their positions to hold cash going in to a weekend. That by itself is a negative on share price. Putting another negative together with it almost guaranteed a sell off. I think the timing was very poor. It also came after a run up which also calls for a small sell off due to profit taking. Those are just accepted market facts.
A key target price mentioned in the PR is $5. It's key to getting INO in front of fund managers. I understand that and agree with the principal completely. My question to everyone here is who doesn't feel with positive news the share price should move above that level anyway. Many here have stated what they believe will happen to the share price when any news happens. Almost all those speculative guesses are above $5. Maybe that is not what the company expects. I understand a contingency plan. That too is smart.
The problem is there should be no need for a reverse split if any of the news is good. The split should then be put on hold and the market forces should be allowed to move the price to where we all hope it should go.If the good news can't move the price to where funds can take over as the driving force then we are all over estimating the effect good news should have.
CHM and MACK I agree with both of you in terms of where it will lead to in the long run. The only problem is the fact that the market for the most part is no longer a long term economic tool. Investor need for instant gratification has ended that. I have friends I work out with that i have been recommending INO to.
My recommendation during the last week was to try and pick up some in the 3.20 range because I felt that would be safe. Watching the action yesterday I was looking forward to strutting a little today.
Then the split announcement. Can't we just have a few days to enjoy when things move in a positive direction before a negative (perception) influence is announced.
This will bring in those that don't have to worry about what the price is to purchase a million shares so that will be good. On the other hand, I'm a little person so buying a few hundred shares VS thousands of shares doesn't LOOK quite as impressive. Again I know that is only perception.
It also puts people on edge seeing so many changes in such a short period of time. A dilution offering then a reverse split so close together. I know the offering was to raise cash and put the company in a good position. i don't argue with that at all.
In the long run it will help the speed at which the stock will move when the fund managers start buying in.
I also believe there will be good news from the company that will quickly make everyone forget any of this happened.
Sorry Inovio I have to disagree with you and agree with rcaptain on this one. Ino is simply following the process necessary to sell those shares.
To say they won't or may not be sold would be equivalent to burying ones head in the sand to avoid seeing it happen.
Going through these processes cost money and are done for their intended purpose as stated "we intend to". It doesn't give the time line or the size of the offering but that information will follow.
I don't knock Ino at all for doing so and have stated I like the company. Why else would they have gone through the proper channel and procedures if they did not intend to offer the shares.
I believe DR Kim knows he has built up a strong following in the investment community and is simply giving the company a stronger financial footing by doing the offering.
Dr Kim regularly increases his holdings which shows he is confident in where things are heading. That's a good sign over all.
The stock will take a hit short term but how bad it will be is unknown. I don't think it will be bad at all and will only amount to a retracement of some of the latest gains. JMO of course
Marginist I personally believe you are on the right track. I believe there will be news that will be announced that will support this offering. These additional shares would be bought up in an instant if the information is strong enough.
Maybe the timing will be perfect for me. Unfortunately I've been fight a battle with the IRS. Hit me with a bill for 1.8 million due to day trading a few years back. Started garnishing all my wages except $190 a week. End result proved they owed me money. Been waiting for checks for two months now. Hopefully I'll get at least a couple of them during this pullback.
Interesting that my post first thing this morning mentioned dilution. Had no idea we'd get it this quickly.
I have recommended INO to people since .40.
I have been trying for a long time to put cash together to get in myself. I believe strongly this company will be a great investment for years to come.
I would like to thank those on this board that have offered a lot of DD that has supported and been the basis for information I have given to others!
I have to say I really won't mind seeing a small pullback (hell I would like a huge pullback but I don't want to wish that on any long here) because I do want to get in!
Hope to join all longs soon!
Well it looks like this press release has a little more purpose to it. Written by independents and reviewed in a controlled way. Seems INO is trying to offer a little more support to those backing the company. I hope they are not taking this direction to support the higher price during dilution. It really does seem that he is working harder to gain market awareness.
It wouldn't really matter to me long term because I believe DR Kim is hitting a home run this time.
Pepsi has bottling facilities in most states. The sales volume requires that as shipping would be too costly. If they don't actually own a plant they sub contract to a bottler. I used to work for Pepsi and my old man worked for Frito Lay
Pepsi is headquarters are located in Purchase NY
Are you talking about our daily chart? I was going to ask earlier this week because I haven't been able to follow any of the daily trade patterns when I get a chance to look.
Not being able to see the big (relatively) swings during the day is a big disadvantage. I will be buying again soon.

As 2013 comes to an end, it's time to revisit one of the top priorities in the health-care industry: treating cancer. In 2013, 1.7 million new cases of cancer were reported in the United States, making up a large percentage of the estimated 2.7 million cases worldwide. Sadly, total global cases of cancer are expected to surge to 21 million by 2030.
But cancer treatments have considerably improved over the past few years, and patients now have more treatment options than ever. Companies like Inovio Pharmaceuticals (NYSEMKT: INO ) , Roche (NASDAQOTH: RHHBY ) , ImmunoGen (NASDAQ: IMGN ) , and Gilead Sciences (NASDAQ: GILD ) are at the forefront of bringing revolutionary oncology treatments to the market.
DAQ: GILD ) are at the forefront of bringing revolutionary oncology treatments to the market.
As we head into 2014, let's take a look back at three revolutionary new ways to treat cancer, and how they can substantially improve the lives of patients.
Immunotherapy: Training the immune system to recognize cancer cells
One of the main reasons cancer cells proliferate is because the immune system has trouble locating them among healthy cells. Chemotherapy, the traditional method of treating cancer, has a severe drawback: It kills both cancerous and healthy cells, causing weakness, gastrointestinal problems, and hair loss.
That's where a new method of targeting cancer cells, known as immunotherapy, comes in.
Inovio, a development-stage biotech that is partnered with Swiss pharmaceutical giant Roche, is creating therapeutic cancer vaccines that can "train" a patient's immune system to recognize cancer cells as foreign objects and destroy them.
Inovio accomplishes this through the use of two technologies: electroporation, which delivers the vaccine into the patient's body through brief electrical pulses, and synthetic DNA, which makes the vaccine slightly different from native human proteins with the intention of triggering an immune response.
Heading into 2014, Inovio has three main cancer vaccines investors should keep an eye on:
Vaccine
Indication(s)
Status
Partner
INO-3112
Cervical, head and neck cancers
Phase 1
None
INO-5150
Prostate cancer
Pre-clinical
Roche
INO-1400
Breast and lung cancers

Although all three vaccines are still in the very early stages of development, Roche's vote of confidence, which also extends to Inovio's hepatitis B vaccine, suggests Inovio's technology shows considerable promise.
I think he was referring to the fact you were using 1.50 and 1.59 in your prediction post instead of the 2.50 and 2.59.
Sorry, I hadn't read the follow up posts when I wrote this one.
Thanks for the correction on the names. As I said I have been working on memory about the details from back then. My neighbor worked in one of the best hospitals in the country and the MARSA results seemed huge to him.
I will check into the sales difference to be fair before I post again. (I'm not sure marketing was the problem) If the product was as good as it was touted back then people should have been beating down the door for the opportunity to distribute.
I'm not here to spend days bashing BUT I am interested to see if there IS any legitimacy to the company since I owned it previously.
Stervc- As you study the 2009 time frame will you please tell me what the difference is between then and now regarding BONU.
I owned BONU then and was fortunate to enjoy the ride then. The problem was the same as now IMO. A lot of testing was done, the results were touted as best in class but the stock ended up selling off big time.
The tests for MARSA were done then. The ability to eliminate harmful chemicals from smoke during fires was done the. (they even shot video of a guy in a burning camper giving an interview showing no effects from breathing the smoke)
Everything was "proven" to work then. Steven, with his government contacts was taking over then and given huge performance incentives along with his contract if he could obtain a buyout.
The stock continued to drop with all those things going for it. As you can see even the battle with PURE was raging strongly then as well. ( the battles on yahoo were intense- that is where I posted then)
The problem is they have never been able to sell product.
I believe your followers alone can make this play profitable for SOME. As other here have said trade it and make a little money would be my advice.
I'm not here to save the world and won't spam the board by posting a lot but can you tell me the difference between then and now?
Distribution networks were also being set up then with European approvals easier.
What gives????
Thanks stervc. Won't be today I have to trim out a basement for a friend. Look forward to talking.
Would like to communicate off board if you are willing. If so pm me an email.
I'll explain it a little slower for you LOL.
I bought BONU the first time during what was a pump (A really good one)I didn't realize it was simply a momo play.
After that success I doubted the DD board on other stocks (pennies) that were eventually halted. It's like any gambler- the worst thing that can happen is initial success.
As I originally posted use it as a momo play and get out. There are enough here to pump it up. Some will make money I don't question that.
Let's reserve judgement until we see what happens after the pump ends.
BCN- easy to explain. At the time I hadn't started on IHUB. I only posted on Yahoo. (strangely under bikerguy) I believe the person taking over then was Steven Brouhard or something like that.
Doubt it now?
Obviously the Ticker caught my attention. Had to check it out.
Maybe the story is different this time I just gave out a warning is all.
By the way the play in 2009 was a cure for MARSA and the company was taken over by a person from Homeland security that had huge government ties.
But maybe it's different this time.
As I said make money and run.
Look at the chart. It killed the big board back then and was my first P&D money maker. I didn't even know what a P&D was back then.
We weren't looking at pennies then we were looking at $2.50.
Janice- Just wondering if any of you would care to visit the BONU board some time in the near future.
BONU was actually one of the first stocks I ever bought and unfortunately the success led me to other penny plays.
I'm not saying it's a scam but the chart from 2009 should give you some idea of what to expect. I didn't know it was my first P&D until I was burned on a few others.
I now visit this board a lot more often.
A whole pump group is forming there so I'm guessing many will get burned.
And to the board, while on the wrong side of your attention I didn't appreciate it---BUT I DID EVENTUALLY LEARN FROM IT!!!!!!!!!!
One of the first stocks I ever played. (2009) The group that is here will pump this up for at least a short period of time. Make some money and run while you can.
Any questions take a look at the 5 year chart and you will see how it was done then and where it headed after.
Won't knock anyone here making money--that's what we are here for.
Just be honest and forget the sky's the limit crap.
He must be using the same technical advice as the self anointed investing Guru who predicted 1.20 within 30 days. For those counting there are 2 left.
We'll be able to see who was better at reading technicals then. I actually wouldn't mind seeing 1.20. It would present a great buying opportunity IMO.
I hope it misses so we can all watch you rip into that person. LOL
