Sanswire Networks Demonstration a Success
Wednesday July 14, 8:30 am ET
ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 14, 2004--Sanswire Networks, LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of GlobeTel Communications Corp. (OTCBB:GTEL - News) announced today that the live demonstration of the communications capabilities of its Stratellites was a success.
The live demonstration was held at the Company's Atlanta headquarters yesterday and will be repeated again today for the public and media. Only pre-registered guests will be permitted to attend the demonstration.
The Company demonstrated how it will use Stratellites as high-altitude wireless transmission platforms. The demonstration consisted of a number of wireless tests using various IP products and services over different frequencies, all from a fixed position in the sky. Sanswire held the platform in one stationary position using GPS technology. A series of antennas were mounted to the platform that received a wireless signal from an earth station and retransmitted the live signal to the demonstration area on the ground, allowing the Company to demonstrate the voice and data capabilities of the high-altitude wireless platform. Attendees were able to make an international phone call and surf the Internet.
Subsequent to the two-day demonstration, the Company will set a date for the next round of testing that will involve launching a Stratellite into the stratosphere and holding it in position at 65,000 feet.
"We were on a very large stage today and things worked out extremely well," said Michael Molen, CEO of Sanswire Networks. "It was a team effort and everyone did their job flawlessly. In the last couple of days, we've had a connection from several different altitudes. Today we were just shy of three miles up. Now we can turn all of our attention toward the stratosphere."
Timothy Huff, CEO of GlobeTel added, "We had our international partners in attendees today and in addition to surfing the Internet, they were able to make phone calls to Asia, Africa, North America, South America, and Europe. Our international partners got a chance to engage our Sanswire engineers and management team and sample the fruits of their labor. The goal now becomes to commercially launch a Stratellite into the stratosphere. I'm excited about the many products that GTEL is releasing onto the international front, but Sanswire's technology when deployed, will change the world."
A Stratellite is similar to a satellite, but is stationed in the stratosphere rather than in orbit. At an altitude of only 13 miles, each Stratellite will have clear line-of-site communications capability to an entire major metropolitan area as well as being able to provide coverage across major rural areas. Several Stratellites linked together could cover many hundreds of thousands of square miles. The Stratellite will allow subscribers to easily communicate in "both directions" using readily available wireless devices. In addition to voice and data, proposed telecommunications uses include cellular, 3G/4G mobile, MMDS, paging, fixed wireless telephony, HDTV, real-time surveillance and others. To learn more about the Stratellites, visit Sanswire Network's website at http://www.sanswire.com.
To register to attend the demonstration, contact Jairo Rivera at jrivera@sanswire.com.

Broadband by airship?
Last modified: July 7, 2004, 3:20 PM PDT
By Ben Charny
Staff Writer, CNET News.com
A company aiming to bring broadband to the masses via tiny airships next week plans to dot Atlanta's skies with a flotilla of low-orbiting "stratellites."
According to Sanswire Networks, fixed wireless equipment on land will send a signal to antennae in stratellites floating high over the city, then to designated areas on the ground. The stratellites are similar to satellites in concept, but they are stationed in the stratosphere like unmanned airships rather than being put in orbit. The company plans to demonstrate applications using IP-based voice and video over the stratellite connection.
A broadband network based on tiny airships isn't as farfetched as it seems. A commercial balloon-based IP network, owned by Space Data, began operating in April. Its network is used to monitor gas and oil field employees in a 400-mile area of the Permian Basin region in the western part of Texas.
Attention on nontraditional ways of getting broadband has increased now that President Bush and opponent John Kerry are focusing their campaigns on improving on the relatively few broadband-connected homes and offices in the United States. Many of the underserved areas are too expensive to reach by telephone or cable network, the dominant way broadband is doled out.
Stratellites can be positioned much lower in the sky than balloon-based IP networks. That makes it faster to send photos, e-mails or other forms of uploading onto the Internet. Uploads are something that higher-orbiting balloons have problems with.
But there's a price to pay for the low-altitude high speeds. The airships are buffeted about in jet streams, and their covers wear down after about 18 months. Satellites, on the other hand, can last decades.
Sanswire Networks is a wholly owned subsidiary of Miami-based GlobeTel Communications.

HERE IS YOUR WIZE, WOODYLOW. FYI, GTEL is setting up for another MAJOR breakout move here. The current action and pattern are EXACTLY what we want to see just ahead of a major move. The current trend pattern is VERY similar to the one we saw back in December of '03. As a matter of fact, I bet you I can pinpoint almost the exact date of the move just before we get ready to run. It's all in the TA ... it's all in the TA. Believe it or get left in the dust. We are NOT far off at this stage.
Have a nice long holiday weekend gang!!!
Regards, WIZE
Hi Captain. I like your board. SFAD might be waking up.
To All: I want to correct some misinformation I had in my previous post. I stated that the stratellite test launch is in July. Per the wallstreetcorner.com article this past Wednesday, and the CEO letter to shareholders on April 5, 2004, the July test is a beta test of a low altitude, smaller version of an actual Stratellite. The beta test will only be three miles high, versus the actual height of thirteen miles for a full size Stratellite.
As was pointed out to me, the successful launch of the first high-altitude Stratellite will probably not occur until late this year, or possibly until 2005. In which case, the second distribution will not occur until sometime in 2005.
Sorry for the mixup. (:-. However, I do stand by my comments about SNWR dropping in price in next several weeks, and for GTEL to increase, especially as we near the stockholder’s meeting and the beta test.
http://biz.yahoo.com/bw/040521/215208_1.html:
The second distribution involves an additional 200 million shares that are being held in reserve pending the successful launch of the first high-altitude Stratellite. The shares will be released to Sanswire management on the 91st day following the successful launch meeting technical and commercial criteria defined by GlobeTel.
http://www.wallstreetcorner.com/stockpick.html:
“Tim Huff told me that there is a demonstration of the technology planned over Atlanta sometime in the next two months – it will use a smaller version of the Stratellite temporarily positioned only about three miles up. When that takes place, I’ll update you on its results.”
http://www.globetel.net/letter.htm:
Beta testing of the Sanswire technology will begin within the next 90 days. We will keep you informed. Management believes with the successful test of the Stratellite, hundreds of governments and companies will flock to this technology for their 21st century telecommunication needs. As this date becomes more definite, we will provide the time and place of the demonstration and, of course, the results.
gbreez, when SNWR became a subsidiary of GTEL, the agreement was for every share you owned of SNWR, you would get one share of GTEL. What usually happens in about 99% of similar transactions in the stock market is that the company getting the additional shares usually goes up in price (because the value has gone up because of the dividend). Also note that SNWR has doubled in price since Friday's news of the dividend. That is because of the possibility of getting an extra 2-3 shares if the stratellite test launch is successful in July.
The company that is the dividend company (GTEL in this case) will usually drop in price. Now, after the deadline for record date of distribution, the dividend company usually then goes up, especially if news comes out. Notice how GTEL has not gone down since Friday's news of the share distribution...maybe something in the works soon. . Look for SNWR to go up tomorrow, then drop in price in next several weeks, and for GTEL to increase.
http://biz.yahoo.com/bw/040521/215208_1.html
"The first distribution will provide one share of GTEL for each share of SNWR owned as of May 31, 2004. "
"After Sanswire management satisfies certain corporate obligations, the remaining shares will be distributed on a pro-rata basis to its shareholders of record as of May 31, 2004. It is anticipated that this second distribution will provide between 2 and 3 additional shares for each share of SNWR owned as of the close of business on May 31, 2004."

bltra, I agree with you 100%. eom
Buzz, regarding CCUR, it's not a weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee yet, but it will be soon. This stock likes to do roller coaster with it's stock price.

herdround, I disagree. Yes, under normal circumstances the stock would have probably moved up more on these recent PRs. What hurt the price is that the company didn't file on time and got the "E" added on. I think when the "E" comes off, along with continued news, the price will move up more. If the 1st quarter comes out in a timely manner and is positive (which I believe so strongly that it will be), the price will more up sharply.
GTEL priming for May. I still say it will be in the 20 cent range by mid May.

To Our Valued Shareholders,
I would like to take this opportunity to update you on the progress of the Company and share with you our vision of what we want GlobeTel to become over the next few years. Our prime goal, of course, is to dramatically increase the worth of the company and shareholder equity. But first I want to explain why we the filed for an extension of our 10-KSB. I realize that some of you may see this as a deficiency when we elect to use extra time to file the 10-KSB. We are still a small company, growing very rapidly, developing several new technologies and our staff and resources are stretched to the maximum during these reporting periods. Our first responsibility and mine as CEO is to drive the growth of our business. This often leaves us with very little time to construct these reports and too often we find ourselves reaching for more time. I take full responsibility for the filing of the extension, and I hope that you will understand our priorities. As the company and its resources continue to grow, we will be able to devote more company resources to the timely filing of our quarterly and year end reports.
"This month we will launch our Public Relations and Investor Relations (PR/IR) campaign. We are bringing new faces to the table to help better tell our story. Many of you have wanted us to concentrate on the public markets. I was unwilling to do so until all the pieces of our business plan were in place. That time is now. In April we will also begin redesigning our website. Over the next few months, the site will provide access to all of our products and services. It will allow better access to project information and will be more user friendly."
Let me briefly explain the reasons for Sanswire acquisition and the markets it fills. One of the largest problems facing telecommunications in the world today is getting services to the people – the last mile solution. Over 75%f of the world’s population has never made a telephone call. In most countries, infrastructure is very basic, expensive to install or upgrade, and only reaches the main population centers in any capacity. For example, the Philippines is a country made up of over 7000 islands. Inter connection of telecommunications service is problematic. In China, its shear land size and terrain prevents the timely rollout of the massive communications network the country requires. We believe Sanswire and our Super Hub technology will help change all that. First the acquisition is an asset purchase with Globetel purchasing all of the assets of Sanswire including intellectual property and key employees and no liabilities for 28 million shares. Approximately 21 million of these shares are restricted for one year and the remainder will be free trading issued to the public shareholders of Sanswire. There are also incentive bonuses provided once the platform proves its commercial and engineering viability. Sanswire will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of GlobeTel and Michael Molen will remain as its President.
Placing a communications platform into the Stratosphere has never been done before. Such a platform will change how the world delivers telecommunications. A low cost, high attitude Sanswire platform will deliver telephone service, Internet service, video and much more. We estimate the cost will be a one time infrastructure investment of $60 paid by each subscriber. The Stratellite airships remain in place using a very sophisticated GPS guidance system and electric powered engines that draw their power from solar cell gel packs that cover the Kevlar skin of the airship. One Stratellite delivers service to an area the size of Texas, approximately 300,000 square miles. At thirteen miles up, the atmosphere is made up of very light gases and very little to no air. High speed winds at this height would not even mess up your hair much less interfere with the operation of the airship.
This year the Magic Money Card is being rolled out in Asia, Australia, Europe, North America, and South America. Magic Money products combine many valuable products and services. Today we offer telecommunications, prepaid debit and credit card applications, (i.e. MasterCard and Visa) and money remittances. The product supports the multi-billion dollar money remittance business at a fraction of the cost. Many national regulatory agencies have taken notice. In most countries 80 to 90 percent of the population is considered unbankable. Large segments of the population survive on the money being sent from a relative working abroad. These individuals cannot afford a bank account and are forced to carry around cash to purchase the basics of life which also makes them a target for crime. Remittance fees are very high and it can take days for their families to receive their money. Magic Money is the answer to this problem. It is an electronic bank account. Money is remitted instantly to any card on our system. The costs are very attractive. Magic Money cards can be used at over 1 million ATM and 20 million merchants worldwide on the electronic payment networks displayed on the cards. This product has endless uses. Our system gives the cardholders details for every transaction through our web interface, Interactive Voice Response (IVR) or customer service in their respective countries. It will be useful for families, companies using it for payroll services, governments for benefit payments, to name a few. The Magic Money launch is taking place in foreign markets that have the greatest demand and will then be tied to the ethnic communities in the U.S. Magic Money also gives these cardholders our prepaid calling services automatically. Why buy a standard prepaid calling card when you can purchase a calling card that is also a credit card that you can use at millions of stores and ATMs around the world?
The Text Card is a Short Message Service (SMS) micro-payment system being launched in the United Kingdom initially directed towards the cellular phone prepaid calling market place. This is the fastest growing segment in cellular phone services. Up to 50% of the face value of a prepaid calling card is spent in its distribution. A prepaid calling card provider selling a $10 calling card can have up to $5 in distribution cost before a single minute of calling is spent. With Text Card, the card providers sell their products via a cell phone text message purchase. The cellular user simply text messages our site to purchase the card and within seconds our gateway returns to the cell phone user a local access number and the pin number to make the prepaid calls. The charge is billed to their cellular monthly bill or deducted from their Magic Money Card or other available funds account. The Card provider will save 20 to 30 percent in distribution costs while directly marketing to the customer.
The Magic Phone product is an IP adapter that allows an Internet subscriber to place a low cost, high quality phone call via the Internet. The product also allows the users to have a public telephone number that travels with them. Anytime the adapter is plugged into an Internet port, our network detects it, logs onto our system and routes all their calls through our network. Calls between Magic Phone subscribers are free and voicemail, conferencing, call forwarding, call waiting are just a few of its many added features. This is a great product on its own but coupled with Magic Money and the Sanswire technology, it gives GlobeTel the unique ability to be a self contained telecommunications provider, going directly to the subscribers without the need of any other network provider or putting financial resources at risk as in the case of post paid services.
We have added to our carrier traffic operations Asian and European Gateways. The traffic continues to grow. This income should continue to grow and remain a strong component of our overall revenues
We are building GlobeTel to become a world content distribution network capable of delivering voice, data, Internet service, video, banking, rich content, interactive services, cellular, security, advertising, financial services and much more. We envision a low cost IP delivery system being able to reach everyone within a country, providing them with basic phone service, Internet service, IP Television, IP cellular service and financial services. By deploying Magic Money, the Magic Phone, Text Card and Sanswire, GlobeTel has the first opportunity to become the first independent world based carrier, being able to deliver products and services around the world in ways never seen before. The possibilities are virtually endless.
Revenues and profits will begin to be driven the second half of this year with the launch of these products. The make up of our revenues will transition from lower margin international termination services to higher margin value added services in the third and fourth quarters of this year. Our goal is to be at an annualized run rate of $60 million by the end of the fourth quarter of this year and be providing services on 4 continents. We plan to continue our goal to move off the OTCBB by engaging market support professionals around the world. To make it easier for foreign investors to purchase our stock we will list our company on appropriate and advantageous foreign exchanges.
I hope this letter has helped in the understanding and sharing of our vision. We believe with the recent $15 million funding package we have the financial tools and resources to capitalize on our opportunities. During our planned annual shareholders meeting which will be announced within the next 60 days, we hope to meet with many of you and report on our progress with our products and services and answer any questions you have.
Sincerely,
Timothy M. Huff
Chief Executive Officer

Interest Growing in 'Security' Blimps
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
Published: April 27, 2004
Filed at 11:28 a.m. ET
COLUMBUS, Ga. (AP) -- The horizon someday may be lined with giant floating orbs guarding people below from the enemy.
While it might sound quite sci-fi, a plant near the Army's Fort Benning plans to start producing unmanned spherical airships that resemble giant golf balls. They could be used to protect areas from terrorists and missile attacks, watch weather developments and perhaps even provide wireless telephone service to developing nations.
Interest in airships has grown in recent years, with nearly 20 companies developing them in the United States and Europe. Their advocates argue they are cheaper than satellites and manned reconnaissance aircraft and would fill a gap between the two.
``I've had requests from all over the globe for this technology. If I had 100 airships today, they'd all be sold,'' said Mike Lawson, president of Techsphere Systems International, which will build its spherical airships, ranging up to 300-feet in diameter, in Georgia.
Today's most visible blimps have company logos plastered on their sides and hover over major sporting events. They trace their heritage to the Navy blimps that provided surveillance for allied convoys crossing the Atlantic Ocean during World War II.
Now researchers are updating lighter-than-air technology for the 21st century with new power systems and fabrics to help them survive the stratosphere's extreme temperatures and intense solar radiation.
Floating about 13 miles above the earth and holding a stationary orbit for 12 to 18 months, they would provide more constant scrutiny than existing unmanned reconnaissance planes such as the medium-altitude Predator and the high-altitude Global Hawk that have to move around.
And unlike satellites, airships could return to earth for equipment upgrades.
Lockheed Martin Maritime Systems & Sensors already has a $40 million government contract to develop a high-altitude prototype in Akron, Ohio, home of the Goodyear blimps.
The giant aerospace firm, which has built more than 300 airships and thousands of tethered balloons known as aerostats since 1928, is sticking with the traditional blimp shape. But its 500-foot-long by 150-foot-wide prototype will be about 25 times larger than the Goodyear blimps.
Researchers at New Mexico State University's Physical Science Laboratory, which has more than 45 years of experience designing balloons for NASA and other government agencies, have proposed a futuristic wing-shaped balloon that would use wind currents to keep it in position without propulsion. It would operate at altitudes of about 100,000 feet and remain in position for three months at a time.
All the proposed airships would be unmanned and controlled from the ground or from satellites.
G. Guy Thomas, a science and technology adviser for the U.S. Coast Guard, said the lighter-than-air craft could carry equipment that would allow homeland security officials to detect approaching ships 500 to 1,000 miles from the coast.
``I know of five different programs out there looking at airships,'' he said. ``I think we're going to see some in the not-so-distant future. We're going to try to team with some people to buy one.''
John Robinson, managing editor of the Washington-based Defense Daily, said airships could provide additional intelligence for troops in Iraq who are being attacked almost daily by snipers and roadside bombs.
``I see this as a tremendous growth area because it's relatively cheap and it doesn't require a lot of people to operate,'' he said. ``There's tremendous potential for the types of sensors you can put on.''
A satellite costs the government about $150 million. Airship developers say their craft would cost considerably less.
Techsphere plans to build its spherical airships up to 30 stories high in Columbus, a Georgia city of about 186,000 along the Alabama border.
The company is using a design perfected over the past 21 years by airship developer Hokan Colting of Canada, who set a world airship altitude record of 21,000 feet last year in a 62-foot version. His design is maneuvered by propellers mounted around the sides.
Techsphere soon will establish a plant near Fort Benning, home of the Army's Soldier Battle Lab, and plans to build another plant to accommodate its largest airships. Georgia Institute of Technology researchers will develop a propulsion system, possibly using solar panels and fuel cells, to power the propellers during missions of a year or more at 65,000 feet.
``Our high-altitude airship program is well on its way,'' said Lawson, who hopes to deliver his first ship next year.
Airships date back to 1783, when a French chemist flew the first manned hydrogen-filled balloon over Paris. Lockheed Martin began building helium-filled blimps for the Navy in 1928. The Germans offered trans-Atlantic flights on its luxurious hydrogen-filled Zeppelins until 35 people died in 1937 as the majestic Hindenburg erupted in flames while docking at Lakehurst, N.J.
Interest in airships has continued, despite the Hindenburg disaster, said Tom Crouch, a senior curator at the Smithsonian Institution's National Air & Space Museum.
``There's always been a desire to bring them back, to find an economic niche,'' he said.

To all longs here: Below is today's news about the annual report with some key points highlighted. I've also posted the shareholders letters from Huff...you can see for yourself that he has a business plan that is coming together. I'm like many of you longs here, I want more news...I believe we will start to get lots of news starting real soon. Tonight's news was just a start to let investors know why the annual wasn't as positive as expected. If you read the news carefully, the shareholders letters, and the recent developments these past four months, you can be assured that the stock will soon begin a march up...and, it could be a very strong march up. So hold on and buy at these levels, GTEL won't remain here much longer. May is going be good, and you can take that to the bank .

The company reduced its actual operating costs in 2003 but had reported over $1.4 million in bad debt thereby causing an operating loss. Without bad debt expenses, the company's overhead was $2.39 million in 2003, a decrease from $3.05 million in 2002. During 2003, the company also wrote-off assets related to transactions in Australia totaling $4.83 million which resulted in the company reporting a total net loss of over $6.2 million.
Timothy Huff, CEO of GlobeTel, stated, "2003 continued to be a growth year for GlobeTel. We generated nearly double our non-related party revenues and reduced our overhead. We are confident that with our initiatives in 2004 along with our new product lines, we will continue to grow and show profitability in the near future."

herdround, good point; bltra, good points regarding negative bashing. I'm frustrated just like everyone else is; you've even heard Rocky mention his frustration. I'm sure much of the frustration is because the stock is lower than when many have purchased it. If you've taken a paper loss because of the stock price drop, that's all it is, a paper loss...you haven't lost money until you sell. Yes, I'm a little concerned that the company hasn't come out with news as Huff implied in the April 5 letter to shareholders "This month we will launch our Public Relations and Investor Relations (PR/IR) campaign", but the month's not over, so no one should even comment on that statement. I'm not concerned with the delayed filing, the $15million funding, the Sanswire deal, etc. Time frames have been given for some of these items, so expect some news regarding those items; others, such as Magic Phone, the Text Card, Magic Money Debit/Credit Cards, etc. are being worked on. If you believe the company(which I do), then there is nothing to worry about. It takes time to get deals put together and to dot the "i"s and cross the "t"s.
Assuming everything the company has stated it has been doing is legit, then the pps will take care of itself.
Now, let's move forward.
archinla, I can't get GTELE on scottrade's streaming quotes; I can get it on the individual quote screen.
gbreez, I agree with you. Repeating the same questions is aggravating, but I'm sure many longs have the same concerns. I believe the company will come through. The yearly financials won't be bad, won't be great either...in line would be good for the company. It's what the company is going to begin doing in the near future is what is going to count.
Looking for a bounce here...OXFV eom. .
truth_b_told_2004, I was two days ago at .036, sold yesterday at .055. I was also in a few weeks ago at .02 and sold at .06 a few days later. Thanks for the calls
JRVR on the move. Great call truth_b_told_2004 .
OT: supervalue, what is your problem? You are talking about
Globalnet (GLBT), not GTEL. This is the GTEL, so take your bantering to the other board.
SEHO...nice call, real nice -:).
Some new faces here today. Welcome guys . This board is so much nicer than RB. Rocky has a great board here, and a good assistant in Bltra. If anyone here has any info you feel needs to be added to the info board, by all means mention it to Rocky. The info is nice here because newbies can start their own DD with it. The next few months are going to be exciting for GTEL
.
Gbreez, nothing wrong with swing trading. What is wrong is the the constant bashing of a stock to drive the price down, which many do on RB. As Rocky mentioned earlier, we should soon see things beginning to happen with GTEL.
DesertRat1, GBLL...another great call on top of your TRBY. Keep'em coming.
GBLL, nice, real nice .
test:
bltra or Rocky, someone posted this site below, where GTEL is listed in Europe.
Go to the "Recent Dual-Listings" tab and you will see the link to GTEL's homepage. I know the company is already listed in Berlin, but this is just another link for more information in Europe.

Rig, picked up some of GBLL myself .
I really like this part of the letter: "This month we will launch our Public Relations and Investor Relations (PR/IR) campaign. It will allow better access to project information and will be more user friendly.".
Looks like Huff has a great plan here .
OT: Thanks Rocky. EOM
bltra, glad to have you here to help Rocky. We have a company with great potential here.
