OT: If there's one thing I've learned in life so far it's this...
Sometimes, you just can't hesitate.
OT: kokonutguy, you forgot about the people that found out about this only a few, short, precious months ago, dove head first in the deepDD and came up w/ whatever we could to hold for the long haul.
A true paradigm shift
As Google was for e-commerce, Neom is for m-commerce
Here and now
Unbelievable yet true
OT: WayToGoSOG! eom
OT: Thanx, ALYNNB. lns/eom
OT: ALYNNB, what was SPEA? I tried looking it up and cannot find anything and it looks like it stopped trading a couple months ago. Just curious because it seems awfully strange.
Thanx,
lns
12/31/05 estimate: $7.00/share eom
OT: Music lovers...that would be too cool if all of us who play something (yup, I play too - bass and guitar (acoustic & electric), trying out the mandolin, want to get a banjo) were to bring what we could to Vegas and have a little throw-down, get-down, how-down, whatever.
Any harmonica players out there?
I'd love to jam w/ a few fellow NeoMites!
Looks like Vegas won't interfere w/ the mid-west's best music festival (IMO)... www.wakarusa.com ;)
Boldini: This guy/gal did and was right on target:

u2rt1: IMO it was TS droppin' some for his downpayment on his desert golf course palace. A day later he let folks know he dropped some, as he recommended his Microcap subscribers to do the same.
Thanx, koko. Trying to make up for the waves I stirred up over the past couple days.
Sometimes I let my gut reaction get the best of me.

Awesome find, vines3. ALL ABOARD! eom
JP: Yes SIR, yes SIR, Mr. B! :)
alwayswright: I see your point, I wasn't thinking of that. But, why would they want to waste all of that time, effort and expense to do it themselves just to avoid a license fee?
It seems to me they'd spend a boatload more doing it themselves, trying to re-invent the wheel, than to leverage the expertise of a tried and tested system to accomplish the same goal.
If, that is, the same goal is to be achieved...to give the consumer relative information on a product by "clicking" on it.
But, thinking about it more, and URL is and URL is an URL is and URL. Doesn't matter is it's going to a location in a database or the internet. Let's face it, bottom line, the internet is just one big database!
IMO, it's the process of activating that barcode to take you to anywhere that's the key. IMO, they would still have to utilize NeoMedia's patents. I could very well be wrong.
cabbie70: I would think that even if they did "bypass" NeoMedia's services by linking their own instore services through their own instore information provider, that still has to be accomplished by a certain process.
The process is what the patents are all about. So, IMO, they'd still have to go through them to accomplish what they would want to accomplish in this case...Internet Navigation.
Again, IMO.
Exactly, walden. And they gotta be ready for it. I think they are. eom
walden, I saw that but the reason I thought along those lines is because if they already have the infrastructure to manage the "supply side" of the barcode scenario, it would seem to me to make sense to leverage that infrastructure and database/server expertise.
Remember, that's pretty much the main use for barcodes now...supply side management. What's going to be used to manage the next use for the barcode? As we all were wondering, how is NeoMedia going to tackle the anticipated intense ramp-up of necessary servers and their management? That's a lot of equipment, infrastructure and expertise necessary to accomplish what they want to accomplish and expect it to run smoothly from day one. I think they'll need help there in a big way. I haven't seen too many employment opportunites for those areas on their website. Somebody's gotta manage it.
What's going to be the next use for the barcode? Internet navigation.
Data's data to them. They don't care.
Schep, "any connection". If TS is any hint, read what he states in his NEOM "tease" emails...
"When Vodaphone, with 40 million users, starts offering the
service-and Cingular, Deutche Telecom and Verizon climb on the
bandwagon-it's a $1 stock."
??? :)
Exactly, Steelers_Fan. Success, that IMO should be considered the "first draft" of the FAQ.
Thanx a lot. I just don't have anytime during the day to compile such...9-5er and all. Didn't get a chance to do anything at all last night...reading bedtime stories half the time puts me to sleep before my kids! @#!$%$@!
JP, any gameplan regarding folks input to the FAQ other than random postings of support, ideas, or links? Just curious.
Thanx,
lns
I like your line of thought, OTT. eom
So true, sog, so true. That ties right in w/ a little tidbit of very interesting info I was told the other night by a good friend of mine...
A friend of mine works for MCI's webhosting/server management farm (used to be Digex - one of the countries biggest in what they do...they have all the "Big" customers). Anyway, when I mentioned NEOM, again, to him (sent him the lastest TS NEOM/GOOG info) his reply was, "That explains why one of our biggest customers is DOUBLING their server capacity." I asked him who that was, he said, "UCCNet" (www.uccnet.org). He said they basically managed ALL THE BARCODES for "EVERYBODY". When I asked what he meant by "EVERYBODY", he proceeded to ramble down a list of big chains. The one that stuck in my head as Wal-Mart.
Apparantly, them doubling their capacity is unheard of. Normally, increases are done in small batches, piece-meal fashion, not an outright doubling of capacity. And, apparantly they already have a huge capacity (servers on east and west coasts w/ some spots in between - all the "Mac-Daddy" servers...biggest you can get - which BTW, when your dealing w/ basic barcode zero's and one's, that's a BOATLOAD of information).
Also, knowing that NeoMedia states that either THEY can be used to manage a company or organizations barcode links or the customer can manage their own barcodes on THEIR OWN servers, that REALLY got me thinking...
Why would UCCNet "all of a sudden" DOUBLE their capacity?
My suspicion is that each of their existing barcodes will now have two (double) functions...the one that they currently are used for and the other, the "next" thing they'll be used for...internet hyperlink connectivity: NAVIGATION!
Double the functionality, double to workload, double the capactiy! Getting ready for the "rollout"? :)
What's anybody elses take on this? Think I may be off base?
Would love others opinions.
Thanx,
lns
OT: Fun times is Lawrence, KS...
http://www.wakarusa.com/
heyheyhey, 'nuff bustin' on KS! :) EOM
JP: Hence, the great need for a FAQ link. I'll email you tonight.
Pullups: You've owned a stock for a year and a half and you have no clue what you own? What kept you around for 18 months if you don't know what you own? Fair question. And, what is the philosophy behind your investment strategies?
I'm sorry, but, that just doesn't make any sense to me.
TIA,
lns
Vangorilla "location" could be Lawrence, KS.
Cool, JP. All good. lns/eom
spanky: Forgotten. Back to work...eom
Thanx, JP. I knwow and I apologize if I ruffled any feathers. I'll try to "tone it down".
lns
JP: I spoke too and was serious and would also like to help, but cannot do it during the day really due to my 9-5'er.
Later after the kids go to bed is when I'd be able to.
Can I email you sometime?
Thanx,
lns
Exactly, Steeler_Fan. EOM
No problemo, clare. lns/EOM
That's my point, spanky04..."eventually" they will be exposed. But in the meantime, we waste time replying (many of us to the same question), that it just becomes "clutter". Then, like I did last night, a visit to the RBB board CLEARLY shows the "nieve newbies" to be what they really are...a bunch of pond-scum bashers! Like I said, that "clare-the-bear" is a prime example.
I'm basically saying that I strongly support the idea of an "FAQ" post w/ any and all known points are addressed.
Maybe we can all work on this over the next week or so, using the same "subject" line to give our ideas, etc... then the "generals" can pull those out, go over them, and compile the info in a sisinct manner all accessable from a link from inside the "SHOW BOARD INFO" link.
There's a lot of info there already but I think it can be made better.
Just a suggestion...
Yes, I know, I was a "newbie" once and still am in a lot of ways. It would also be, IMO, very beneficial to the TRUE newbies who sincerely want a shortcut to answers.
lns
JP and the "generals": You "guys" are really gonna have your work cut out for you if yesterday was any indication.
The "bashers" are STEADILY gonna worm their way in here under the guise of "uninformed, nieve, "new" investors just wanting a little help". They are very good at distraction and wasting everybodies time. That "clare" is a prime example.
I FULLY agree that up on the "SHOW BOARD INFO" link there should be put a link to a post that can answer ALL of their dumbass, non-looking, no DD'n questions about "what is it that NEOM has that's causing this rise in price???" I get so F'n tired of them guys. They act so innocent and their motives are so dark it just makes me sick.
That way, and "stupid" questions that anybody has, we can easily direct them to that link and if they still come back w/ stupid, time wasting "where do I put the key?" type questions, we'll know exactly who they are and what their intentions are then you guys can "put the brakes" on 'em.
I've been spending so little time on RBB that I didn't recognize them when they came here yesterday.
Let me know if you'd like any help...in NO WAY am I suggesting that you need it. It's clearly obvious you run a "tight ship" here and know what you're doing.
Thanx for all you do and this board, again!
lns
Thanx, number cruncher. I got "locked" out before leaving work...didn't keep track of my limited 15 posts.
Yeah, that's what I meant, revenues, not earnings.
Thanx for that and the double check.
lns
Fingerscrossed4326: Go back and read the press releases from 2003 to current, then come back and see if your still asking yourself and us those same questions.
joedimag: You assume in this post that companies, especially cutting edge ones, trade at their exact earnings/share ratio.
I'll repeat...GOOG is trading at 20x's it's earnings/share ratio.
$60/share!!! (POUDING TABLE!) eom
joedimaggio_6: C'mon, 7 or 10 bucks/share...a crazy dream?
Look, let's do the comparing that's been going on, i.e., "the next Google".
Let's just say we do march that way and let's just stop at the billion plus revenue that TS mentioned.
GOOG had 3+billion last year in revenue. They have a market cap of 60+billion (20x's earnings), have almost 275million shares out and they are $219/share.
Let's apply that math to NEOM at 1.5+billion/year in revenue:
20x's earnings @ 1.5+billion = 30+billion market cap
Let's say 500million shares out = 30+billion/500million =
$60/share!!!
It's time to start getting realistic. Especially after the news starts rolling out. If no news ever rolls out and no 10Q's start supporting such a hypothesis, then yeah, 2 or 3 dollars would be great.
Are you expecting good news, bad news, or no news?
Personally, I'm expecting the news to come and the news to be good. Then the 10Q's should back that news up.
hahaha, exploding toads..."a mystery". Sounds like the old "feed the seagulls an alka seltzer" trick. "Mysteriously" the bird will explode!
Must be aliens. LOL
Dittos! IMO, when this his the NAZ, it could shoot to $20+/share in no time. By then, they should be in the black w/ a couple very impressive 10Q's behind them. Maybe even a WHOPPING 10K to back that up!
Steel: Sorry if I got jumpy. Thanx again, lns.
