Interesting...
The items that showed up for auction in the first few weeks were a strange mix of computer-related and noncomputer-related goods. In a September 12 post on misc.forsale.noncomputer, Omidyar listed the noncomputer items on the site, along with the current bids for each. It was a small, eclectic assortment:
Antiques, Collectibles
Superman metal lunchbox, 1967, used good condition Current bid: $22.00
Autographed Marky Mark Underwear
Current bid: $400
Autographed Elizabeth Taylor Photo
Current bid: $200
Autographed Michael Jackson Poster
Current bid: $400
Toy Power Boat, late 50's-early 60's
Current bid: $60.00
Hubley #520 Cast Iron Hook and Ladder Truck
Current bid: $300.00
Collectors Multicolor Reflection Hologram
Current bid: $5000
Czech Vase
Current bid: $25.00
Cobalt Clear Cut Glass Rose Bowl
Current bid: $25.00
The list was not a representative sample—it was every noncomputer-related item on the site. A week later, Omidyar updated the list, which had grown from eighteen to thirty items, a 66 percent increase, in just seven days...

Former Knight Trader Joseph Leighton Barred, Ordered To Pay $4 Million To Settle Charges of Fraudulent Trades With Institutional Customers...
Joseph Leighton's institutional customers believed that the prices they paid for trades were based upon Knight's cost in acquiring (or selling) shares to fill their orders. Instead, Joseph Leighton had Knight acquire (or sell) a stock position after he received an institutional customer's order, and then waited until the price of the stock moved before executing trades to fill the customer's order, creating greater profits for Knight at the expense of his customer. If the price of the stock moved in favor of Knight's position, Joseph Leighton delayed executions and traded with his customers at prices reflecting the positive price movement. If the price of the stock moved against Knight's position, Joseph Leighton executed trades with customers based upon prices at an earlier time, which were more advantageous to Knight....
This pretty much sums up JRIV .... <lol>

JRC Global Products Rivets Crowds at the IBS in NY, Establishing a Stronghold in the Multi-Million Dollar Hair Industry; Highly Anticipated Best of Breed Product Unveiled to Eager Salon Professionals
April 21, 2005 09:00:24 (ET)
MOUNT KISCO, N.Y., Apr 21, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- The Jackson Rivers Company (JRIV, Trade) announced today that its subsidiary, JRC Global Products, dba Raphael Basante Hair Systems (RBHS -- www.raphaelbasante.com), made its debut appearance April 17 through 19, exhibiting at the International Beauty Show at the Jacob Javits Center in New York, N.Y.
On display, and demonstrated, were the Company's breakthrough hair extension and replacement systems and products, Visions, where the client's existing hair is pulled through openings in the center of the base of the extension or hair replacement. In addition, the more conventional method, called Vision Tips, was made available, where the hair is glued with a heating device to the clients' existing hair.
"Total positive feedback is what we had anticipated, and it was exactly what we received," said Raphael Basante, President of JRC Global Products. "Increased awareness is our primary goal when attending shows; however, due to the number of requests we received prior to the event to offer the product and 'starter kits' to attendees during training and demonstrations, we also brought in more revenue in the three days of the show than we have to date."
Included in the sales were approximately twenty-five customers, consisting of both males and females, who requested to have extensions applied on stage. Amos Jordan, JRC Global Products' Master Educator and Trainer for the United States, led the Raphael Basante team in both the application of the patented system and the professional styling thereafter. Similar to both Raphael Basante and Darlene Ruiz, Vice President of JRC Global Products, Jordan is also a licensed cosmetologist. Specializing in non-surgical hair replacements and hair extensions, Jordan is recognized amongst the elite stylists in his field, with over twenty-one years of experience. In addition to his accomplishments in the US, Jordan also has practiced as an International Educator for over 15 years.
"We were extremely pleased with not only the reaction from the crowds, but also the interest we generated from leading distribution companies, salons, and top industry magazines," said Dennis Lauzon, CEO of The Jackson Rivers Company. "The feedback we received has solidified our plans to aggressively market our products in this multi-million dollar business."

Hey "X", quick question...
Are they required to submit proper documentation stating any type of "Buy" back program ongoing, or when completed?
Thanks,
Dave
Guess they didn't like this...
To implement this joint venture, a new company will be incorporated in Delaware. This partnership will be divided into equal shares between Interlink Global and Blue Wireless & Data Incorporated. It is anticipated that when fully implemented, the joint venture will recognize annual revenues in excess of $250,000 per year, which should expand dramatically as Blue Wireless continues its acquisition program.
While I agree, a familiar face, will give instant crediblity...With some
I'd be interested in Dav's explaination about the "Institution buying"...everything else is just his $.02, IMO.
