broderick, It's a good thing it was Pepsi.
Dr. Pepper would have wiped it out...
Thanks for the thought.
I did clean it with fluid a couple of weeks ago, but this problem started just four days ago.
Who knows,......maybe I sneezed into it and didn't notice....
If that's the case, it will fix itself...
we'll see.
tc,
I think I've taken care of most of the problem.
It appeared to be the CIH virus and ProtectorPlus took care of most if not all of it.
I also just finished running cleanCIH because I thought I still had some bugs in DOS.
Now, my system seems to be bug-free.
As it turned out, at least for the last day or so, most of the problems, especially online, were caused by the ProtectorPlus program itself.
As soon as I uninstalled it I had no problem with IE.
The only problem I sill have is with the keyboard.
If I hit certain keys (caps lock) I can no longer type.
I have to reboot to restore it.
My delete button doesn't work and the \ slash is on the left scroll button.....they don't work either.
Could the virus have fried some of the controls for my keyboard?
Or, (what's most likely), could I have deleted some critical files?............:)
FWIW...I tried evey keyboard option I could think of to find errors and could find none.
TIA
FWIW and a question.....
I'm still in the recovery process from a very nasty virus.
I downloaded about eight different programs to take care of the problem, but the virsu would infect most of them when I tried to install.
Finally, I downloaded a demo version of Protector Plus that seems to be working and has disinfected most, if not all of my OS.
Now, the question..........
My biggest problem now is that Internet Explorer 6 is very unstable.
I suspect that I deleted some files that it needs.....:)
can I download IE 6 again over the one I have running?
And, if I did, would it help?
TIA
ILCC looks like it ready to pop... The volume is up X10 over last Friday and today, the price bounced around like a ping pong ball, closing on a dip.
GECC is running on news..up over 56% today and 156% in the last week....
They are starting a Spanich Language TV Network....
The charts show resistance at .15, then nothing until, maybe, .30.
good luck
Arch, ...EMTP..This one is a little weird, but I did the DD on it so I'll share it. Maybe someone will see something I don't.
EmailThatPays.com,(EMTP) is trading at .03 and is scheduled to do a 1:20 R/S on 5/13
As a post-split play, look for an entry at about .05
(yes, it should drop back down to that after the split)
The current OS is 10.3M and the float is 6.3M and management holds 40% of the OS.
Post-split it will be 5151K OS and a float of 313K
Here's why it's weird.
This is one of the few dot-coms left and has been dying since 2000
With the split they will reverse merge into their own privately held subsidiary called Forge Inc.
Forge Inc will be the surviving company and the symbol will be changed to FRGA
I could find no information on Forge Inc, but it appears that they aren't making any money either.
EMTP isn't making any money to speak of and has no assets and yet, they aren't in that bad of shape financially.
Why/how?...beats me!...Maybe management moonlights as bank robbers.
This, IMO, is good only for a quick in and out, but could be good for some impressive profits, but the biggest problem is no volume.
Wise, What's your read on TTTT now?.TIA
SEC files charges against PCBM....
http://www.sec.gov/litigation/litreleases/lr17507.htm
John, You're right, R/S's suck, but not for the people who get in post-split.
It's not a matter of defying the normal R/S scenario.
It's a matter of buying a stock that has a better chance of going up....one that makes predictable moves.
RWNI..doing a 1:2 R/S..The symbol will change to RWNT
At .56 the stock will split tomorrow,(5/7).
coming off a 1:33 R/S last December when the Os was 316+M and will now be 4.8M.
Look for a post-split entry around .25-.30 and an exit around .85- 1.00
good luck
GRIN..looks like the party's over..........
they just filed a DEF 14A proxy statement to issue a boatload of additional shares and increase the AS.
This explains the downtic today......
From the 14A:
To elect seven directors (Proposal 1);
To approve the issuance of 915,000 shares of Common Stock and 2,745,000 shares of Common Stock issuable upon exercise of warrants upon the conversion of 915,000 shares of Series B Convertible Redeemable Preferred Stock issued in December 2001 and January 2002, which issuance would represent more than 20% of the Company's total Common Stock outstanding (Proposal 2);
To consider and act upon a proposal to amend the Amended and Restated 1993 Stock Option Plan to increase the number of shares available for grant of options under the Plan from 150,000 to 300,000 and to extend the expiration date of the Plan to December 13, 2011 (Proposal 3);
To consider and act upon a proposal to ratify the appointment by the Board of Directors of KPMG LLP as independent chartered accountants for the Company for the 2002 fiscal year (Proposal 4); and
To transact such other business as may properly come before the Annual Meeting and all adjournments thereof.
John, What equipment sales? Did they sell something?
Even if they did, they would still have to take care of all the lawsuits against them.
It will take an awful lot of good news to overcome that.
ETTC...up 100% today. FWIW, that's about 1800% from the bottom about a week ago....
They do exist folks........!
Here's one to do some fast DD on..
ETTC (formerly ECOC), did a 1:50 R/S a week ago and may have already bottomed post-split.
As of today, it's showing all the signs of a run....
Good luck
ILCC is on the move...has doubled in the last four days.em
GRIN is up .27 to 3.32 and has just announced that they have Spiderman stuff.
The last time they did this was for Lord/Harry Potter and they spiked for a double....
good luck
PTSC....news of a downloadable microprocessor just came out.
at .10, watch for a jump....
Here's an excerpt from the PR:
April 23, 2002
PTSC (Patriot Scientific) announced that the IGNITE(TM) 32-bit Microprocessor is now available online, at www.ptsc.com and can be downloaded for evaluation and product development.
This is a highly unusual step. While software trials are a typical means of marketing software products, very few microprocessor companies have ever provided a free access to their product architecture from an online download. The download not only includes all of the documentation and user manuals to complete a product development with the IGNITE processor but also makes available PTSC's VxWorks(R) and pJava(R) binaries ported to the IGNITE processor. Development Tools for Windows and Linux are also available for download.
Wise, I took a look at KAHI.........
Making a play on another Pink Sheet stock right now would make me feel like I'm staying at the same craps table, even though I know it's fixed...:)
I thought this was interesting though;
I ran a three-month Java chart on KAHI w/bollinger bands and candlesticks at BigCharts.com
Then, I did the exact same thing with RRUN.
IMO, the comparison is quite interesting.....and RRUN is listed!
Wise, another SHCC???????..........
Last November 1, New Sky Communications,(NSKY) did a 1:200 R/S.
The last post-split price was about .31
The symbol was changed to NSCI
The split was "officially" announced at the Aug 22 shareholders meeting when the price was 1.20
The current price is about .12
You pretty much nailed SHCC at the bottom and I wondered if you have looked at this one?
TIA
jOHN HOLLEN, Do you own WCGR? if so, why?......
They were delisted from NYSE
I have never seen a stock with so many lawsuits pending against them.......almost as many as there are shrareholders.
The Shareholders had to form a committee to try to run the company..........Jeez!
Man! I just don't have time to get involved with this one..
If you own it, good luck.
Arch, GRIN is getting hammered today, but so are most of the Pennies.
This is a well established International Toy company that MAKES MONEY!
Late last year they did a 1:4 R/S.
As they were trending down from that the Harry Potter/Lord movies came out.
When that happened they spiked for an easy double....on the way down.
I'll have to check my notes on the OS and float, but I know they are very low which makes the price very volatile...
An added note; This, IMO, is just one of many small caps that are starting to put strength back in the market.
Arch, I believe I posted here about GRIN when it was at about 1.20.
Now, it's up 225% and still going.
It's bumping against a small resistance level right now and after this the next resistance isn't until about 4.50
After that........there is NO resistance.
Another keeper......ILCC.....at .03 it may have bottomed.
They have been working a master plan since 1998 and just last July, went public.
They are now profitable.
A couple of days ago they filed a S-8 to register 7.495 M shares to issue to "consultants and professionals."
IMO, watch for a promotional campaign(s) as a result
Wise, I received two emails. One said that I should get your emails and one said that your a having problems with it.
The second email refered me to this message board.
Which is it?.........or is it both?
Here's one with all the bells and whistles...
...WLSY,(OTCBB 2.75) has just completed a reverse merger with a private company and will be doing a 20:1 F/S(date not announced yet).
Since the current OS is only 4.5M and 15.5M shares will be issued to the carry-over shareholders of the private(surviving) company, the split MUST take place.
Even though the merger/split wasn't announced until about Feb 22, it appears that insiders leaked information about this two months in advance.
Beginning at the first of the year, the price started moving up from a base of .16
Now, it looks like profit-taking is bringing the price back down.
If the split were to take place today, the post-split trading price would be about .1375
IMO, not much area there for a post-split run.
But, if the selloff continues until the split date the pre-split price could be driven back down to the .16 level.
If that happens, the post-split trading price will be about .008 and an opportunity for great post-split profits.
There is potential for a 10-20 bagger..Watch for an entry point.
(as usual,,,JMHO)
Joemoney, re: ILCC.....
I'm very excited about this company and what they are doing, but I don't feel that a run is eminent.....at least not in the next couple of weeks or so.
Meanwhile, the pps is showing upward movement on strength and I feel it will continue to do so....
Two reverse splits..........
On Monday, 4/8 two companies are scheduled to R/S
MMHD(changing to MMHG),,,,,,, 1:100 R/S
CALA(changing to CALI)....... 1:5 R/S
MMHD, doing the 1:100 R/S as part of the R/M with Midwest Merger Management, is currently .11 with an OS of only 18M
........(please double-check these numbers.....hard to believe..:)
Of the 18M OS, 12M is being issued to shareholders of Midwest.
After the R/S post-split trading should be around $11.00 with an OS of only 180K and a float of about 60K
IMO, incredible!.....If there is the usual post-split selloff, it should move VERY fast.
CALA. doing the 1:5 R/S to qualify for a NAZ listing,(they claim)
current OS is 15.9M,(3.175M post-split)
Trading at 1.27 the post split trading price should be about $6.00
The split announcement came at about 1.19 pps, but it appears that insider leaks had driven the price up from about .26
The truth of this split seems to be in the activities over the past year or so.
They have had to close offices and lay off many employees.
they're in trouble.
If this can be a good short play or not will depend on how low the price drops post-split........
(as usual...JMHO and other opinions are appreciated)

Do you want to know how this company is doing?
Here's an excerpt from the latest 10K
The bottom line:
Net Profits.
The Company realized net profits (after provision for income tax) of $265,537 in
the fiscal year ended September 30, 2001 compared to a net loss of $16,055 for
the year ended September 30, 2000, or $0.02 and ($0.00) per share respectively.
WorldlyMate, Maybe I'm missing something re SHCC.
You keep saying that there is no dilution....Maybe that's because the CEO told you that.
On 11/21 they issued 130-million shares and on 1/8 they issued another 35-million......
What do you call that?
WorldlyMate, Because of the fallback in the share price of SHCC, I just took a hard backward look at the company.
the reverse split last August came about because of a reverse merger between ShareCom and Anonymous Data Corp.
Anonymous Data was the surviving company and they, for the time being, kept the old name and ticker.
The Weather Radio,(whatever it's called) is a product of the old ShareCom.
For the past two years ShareCom has gone from a shareprice of over a thousand-dollars a share to .25 just before the split.
That radio was just about the only marketable product the
company had..........and they were still going broke.
I was wondering what kind of business Anonymous Data had before the merger, but based on your talk with the CEO, it appears they had no business.
That radio appears to still be the only claim to fame they have.
Did you get any other indications from the CEO?
TIA
David, I did some charting on SHCC last night....
What's going on now appears to be profit taking...
The moving averages have just crossed over to the upside, a buy indicator.
There is small resistance at .024 and a stronger resistance at .04
On the negative side, it appears that, before the 1:323 R/S, they had over 5-billion OS.
Since the split they have issued several million more.
IMO, the company seems to be running on shares they are printing in the basement, but could(still) be a nice 2-4 bagger short term....
I haven't looked at PCBM....
broadrick,
Don't take this the wrong way, but have you been looking at porn sites?
It seems that some of those sites have the best hackers on the web...
I recently went into one, didn't download anything or even join anything but, when I left it I had a new icon on my screen.
I tried to delete it and got a message that it couldn't be deleted because it was a program.
I went into add/remove programs and removed it, but the icon was still on the screen.
I again tried to delete the icon and got the same message..
Checked back with Add/remove programs and it was gone.
Now, I went to Find ......find files and folders in the start menu and typed in the name of the program.
Sure enough, two listings came up.....I WAS able to delete them.
Now, I went back to the icon and deleted it.
I think the analysts are right......Pretty soon there won't be anything left but porn and email......the only things they can make money with........:)
Thanks lostcowboy...I installed the cacheman program and I'm now ready to hack into the Russian KGB website...:)
Before I go any further I'm going to have to open this puter up and record all the vital information.
Then, I'll have the correct information to work with.
lostcowboy.............................
Thanks...You have been a great help and that link is very useful.
The jumpers were set at the store where I bought the motherboard.
that's why I'm such a dummy about the details.
Thanks to your link, it appears that I have a Penn p55c CPU
If they set it according to the manual, the external clock(bus) frequency is set at 66 MHz, but will support 75 MHz.
The CPU to Bus Frequency ratio looks like 3.5
If I changed the clk frequency to 75MHz would I:
1.have to change the frequency ratio?
2.have a problem with over heating?
And would it make my whole system unstable?
And finally, would the change be worth it?
TIA
BTW...It appears the installing SDRAM chips, which I've done, is the best thing I could have done if I was planning to over-clock in the first place.
broderick,re RCNC............
Yeah, it looks a little scary.
the chart looks like the march of the Lemmings!
But........someting is going on.
The fact that they have shown positive earnings for the past year, insiders are buying stock and yet, the price continues to go down the toilet, implies that there's something going on under the covers.......a merger?
If a R/S happens this will be one hellava buy, after it bottoms post-split, at least short term.
I'll keep it on the edge of my radar screen.
lostcowboy,
you said,
"If you change the speed be sure to change the clock multiplier, DO NOT OVERCLOCK YOUR CPU, unless you are ready to buy a new one."
I assume you mean if I change the speed of RAM, which I did.
I'm not sure what the "clock multiplier" is.
The only Clock reference I can find is "Standby Clock."
For that I have two settings; CPUCLK/2(default), CPUCLK/4
It's set at default
The only CAS latency choices I have are 2CL,3CL(default).
When I first installed the SDRAM chips the system would lock up.
I changed to 2CL and that problem was corrected.
Under DRAM Timing Control I have; Normal, Fast(default), Medium, Turbo.
I just now changed that from fast to Turbo and see no obvious changes, but at least I see no problems either...:)
It appears that there are only two other changes I can make in Advanced Chipset Setup that may make a difference;
PCI Master 1 WS Write
PCI Peer Concurrency
Both of these are set on their default settings which is Disabled.
I plan to run as-is for a while to see if a problem develops because of the DRAM Timing Control change to Turbo.
If there are no problems, I'll try changing the above PCI settings.
(unless you tell me differently....:)
mr. mark,
Thanks, but that doesn't appear to be the problem, if there is a problem.
According to the manual, my motherboard can accept up to 512RAM(4X128) with SIMMs or 128Ram(2X64) with DIMMs(what I have).
In the Cache Memory section; the motherboard comes with512KB synchronous 3V Pipeline Burst SRAMs.(256KB is optional)
But, I find the last sentence in this paragraph interesting:"Since cache memory is from five to more than ten times faster than main memory, the CPU's access time is reduced, giving you better system performance."
I put this puter together from a package deal a local electronics store had and at the time of purchase the RAM sticks I put in was only limited by my pocket book.
I went with 32MB SIMMs.
I'm back to square one.........Why no obvious improvement with 128MB SDRAM DIMMs?
broderick, Just out of curiosity I took a quick look at RCNC.....
OS........98M
float.....28M
This jives with insiders holding a lot of the OS.
Two years ago this stock traded at 60.00
Since then it has been on a continuous downtrend, reaching new lows almost every day.
For the last year earnings have been up in every quarter, but the downtrend continues.
Now at 1.41, if they drop below a dollar for any period of time, the SEC will threaten them will a delisting.
There have been no splits in the last two years, but if they are threatened with a delisting they will be a prime candidate for a "survival R/S"
I know this doesn't really answer your question, but,IMO, that would take a couple of hours of DD.....:)
something is very funny......
Chris, I'm not trying to compare it to anything else on the market or currently in use.
I'm comparing 32MB RAM to 128MB Ram.....That's an increase X4.
Why do I see no difference?
(windows 98, IE 6)
Ok fellas, if anyone can answer this.......
I had 32MB RAM.
I have an Intel 233 CPU and have upgraded my RAM to 128.
Why is there no noticable difference, on or off line?
TIA
