It is just unreal how any one person (Rich Greenfield -BTIG) or company can just spew their opinion and actually move the needle. Such ignorance and irresponsibility ought to be illegal and prosecuted!
If we're talking just movies,,,Star Wars The Force Awakens won't be the only thing that helps beat expectations in future Q's...besides the fact there will be more from Star Wars have they forgotten about the Frozen sequel????

Let's not forget options expiration, and SPX re-balancing happening today as well.

Review: Star Wars sequel flatters old and new audiences alike, and straddles generations with aplomb
So much for deadly prequels. "Star Wars" is once again in sequel mode--it's been so long since the original cast has been on screen that this one could be called a postquel--and the franchise has roared back with full force.
Disney(DIS) , the new proprietor, and J.J. Abrams, the director, haven't diluted the appeal of this space opera for the ages. Far from it, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" flatters old and new audiences alike, and straddles generations with aplomb. "You're Han Solo?" asks the startled young heroine, Rey, after the gallant old guy has come aboard a battered old spaceship--the Millennium Falcon, of course--that she, a scavenger by trade but also a pilot, has chanced to purloin. (Rey is played, dazzlingly, by Daisy Ridley.) "I used to be," Han replies with a small, sardonic grin owned solely by Harrison Ford. Rarely have age and shining youth been juxtaposed more affectingly, but that's only one of many moments of grace in a movie that mines its resonant mythology while moving its story ever forward.
The action begins 30 years after "Star Wars: Return of the Jedi," the last of the series that wasn't a prequel. The Empire may have been vanquished, along with Darth Vader, but every age brings new threats and the current one is the First Order, a military junta with legions of Stormtroopers and its own incarnation of deep-dyed evil in Kylo Ren, an extremely bad guy played extremely well by Adam Driver.
On the other side of the gathering conflict are an accidental heroine and a reluctant hero, and they're both, in their respective ways, brilliant creations.
Some things have changed in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." Most of the people in it--the young people, that is--talk a lot faster than "Star Wars" characters used to. (The old folks, including Carrie Fisher's Leia, who's now a general, talk slowly, with feeling that's all but sure to bring tears to older fans' eyes.) The combat is more intense than it's ever been; thus the entirely appropriate PG-13 rating.

Star Wars arrives amid sky-high expectations
Dec 18 2015, 08:33 ET | By: Clark Schultz, SA News Editor
Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theaters with a vengeance this weekend amid sky-high expectations for exhibitors. Though theater chains take a lower cut from blockbusters, and Disney films in general, concession and admission revenue for December is still expected to pop. A few numbers to watch are listed below. The largest domestic December opening weekend ever was The Hobbitt: An Unexpected Journey at $37.13M which should fall easily, Star Wars could top the all-time U.S. opening weekend record set by Jurassic World of $208M.The highest per theater average for an opening ever was Jurassic World at $48,555. A high mix of premium ticket sales for Star Wars could help that record fall by the wayside. On the all-time global box office list, Star Wars is expected to rank somewhere behind the $3.554B haul of Titanic and Avatar's $2.932B. As long as Star Wars clears $2B, the exhibitor sector should meet expectations. That could be welcome relief for major names AMC Entertainment, Cinemark, Regal Entertainment, and Carmike Cinemas which all trail the YTD return of the S&P 500 Index.YTD box office revenue in the U.S. is up 4.0% to $10.075B through December 16. Star Wars has two weeks to take that mark considerably higher.Related stocks: CKEC, AMC, CNK, RLD, IMAX, RDI, MCS, NCMI.

UPDATE: What does Star Wars overhype mean for Disney stock?
12:03 AM ET 12/17/15 | MarketWatch
By Nigam Arora
The hype for episode VII Star Wars Saga, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," is in overdrive. Disney owns Star Wars. Investors who own stock in the company know that sometimes overhype is a sell signal, while at other times it is the start of another up leg. Therefore, they are asking, "What to do now?"
Investors who do not own Disney stock are asking the same question, as many see a buying opportunity, while others see an opportunity to sell. For the answer, please read on and see the annotated chart.
Please click here for an annotated chart of DIS (http://thearorareport.com/IMAGE_PAGE/DIS-12142015.html).
Fortuitous call
Back in May, I wrote that Disney (DIS) should be bought under two scenarios (http://www.marketwatch.com/story/star-wars-could-boost-disney-stock-by-25-2015-05-18). The first scenario was S&P 500 decisively breaking above 2125; this scenario never occurred. The second scenario was to buy if Disney fell in the zone of 94-97. Here is the previously published chart (http://thearorareport.com/IMAGE_PAGE/DIS-05052015.html) showing the buy zone. At the time of that writing, Disney was trading at $109.93.
The second scenario came true on Aug. 24, 2015; Disney opened at $93.38 and traded as low at 90. Subscribers to The Arora Report scaled into Disney at an average price of 94-95. Then the stock moved back up to the high of 120.65 on Nov. 23. For an investor who bought the stock at 94, this high represented a return of 28% over three months, or 112% annualized. Of course, the foregoing would have mattered only if an investor took profits at the high. The Arora Report gave a call to take partial profits at $112.75 and partial position is still being held.
The movies
Disney stock will react to the box office revenue for the opening weekend of Star Wars. There are a wide range of estimates ranging from $150 million to $240 million for the opening weekend. In our analysis, anything over $200 million will be a win. The estimates for the total gross from the movie are around $2 billion.
Astute investors need to look at what is ahead. Disney will produce at least two more movies in the Star Wars series and at least two spinoffs through 2019.
Disney also owns Pixar and Marvel. Pixar has sequels to "Finding Nemo" and "Toy Story" coming up. Marvel will have a sequel to "Captain America."
It is important to note that "The Force Awakens" is not a one-shot deal. Disney movie franchises will be cash cows over the next five years.
Merchandise
Have you gone shopping lately? The stores are filled with Star Wars merchandise ranging from action figures to video games. Estimates are that the merchandise will generate $3 to $5 billion in the first year. Over the next five years, merchandise related to Disney movies may generate $10 to $20 billion.
Hasbro (HAS) is the major licensee for toys. Electronic Arts (EA) has a major Star Wars video game. Game Stop (GME) will draw a lot of traffic selling Star Wars games.
Shanghai
Disney is getting ready to open its massive theme park in Shanghai, China. The company is expected to recover its entire $4.4 billion investment in two years. Shanghai Disneyland is expected to draw 17 million visitors per year. Also consider the synergies between Disney movies, merchandise and Shanghai theme park; China will become a bigger cash cow for Disney.
ESPN
In the August earnings conference call, Disney CEO Robert Iger outlined concerns about cord cutting negatively impacting lucrative revenues from ESPN. However, in November conference call, he was upbeat about ESPN.
Our analysis is that people like to watch live sports. In due course, Disney will figure out non-traditional means of distributing sports to make up for any loss of revenue from TV bundles containing ESPN.
What to do now?
Disney is an expensive stock, but in a growth-starved world, Disney is likely to continue to trade at a premium as it maintains double-digit annual growth. Here is what to do now.
Disclosure: Subscribers to The Arora Report are long Disney from $94 to $95 and partial profits have been taken at $112.75. Subscribers to The Arora Report are also long Electronic Arts from $20.74 and are likely to book partial profits in the very near future if the stock moves over $70. All recommended stock are reviewed daily at The Arora Report and subscribers may receive additional updates and buy zones on these stock in real time without any further notice to readers of this article.

Twitter Inc. finally plans to start making money off the 500 million people who visit its site every month without logging in. Some 320 million logged-in users visited Twitter in its most recent quarter.
The microblogging site on Thursday said it would begin showing branded and promoted tweets — Twitter’s version of ads — alongside “organic” tweets when visitors come to Twitter.
This will initially only be available for Web-based users. It will include those who regularly visit the site through links in Google search GOOGL, -0.05%
Shares of Twitter TWTR, +6.33% jumped more than 7% to $26.10 on the news. The stock is still down 6% over the last three months, compared with a 5% improvement for the S&P 500.
While 80% of Twitter’s 320 million monthly active users came from mobile devices in the third quarter, many of its logged-off visitors are Web-based, often referred by links at Google search. In May, Google and Twitter struck a deal to give tweets prominent placement on Google search.
The company intends to make the ads viewable on mobile platforms, according to a person familiar with the plans, though it has not set a specific timeline for the rollout.
