Lions Gate delays releases of 'Ascendant,' 'Power Rangers'

Lions Gate (LGF -3.7%) has pushed a pair of high-profile film releases back to later dates.

The two films are Ascendant -- the third and final film in the Divergent young-adult series -- and Power Rangers.Ascendant is headed to a summer release, on June 7, 2017 from that March 24.

Meanwhile, Power Rangers, originally set for Jan. 13, 2017, will take Ascendant's March 24 date.

Shares are up 0.5% after hours.
