worst superbowl game ever....lol
bookies got rinsed...
His five reasons why the Patriots will achieve perfection on Sunday:
1. Tom Brady will perform at his best. His much-discussed ankle injury, suffered in the AFC Championship Game, won't be a factor. It didn't even show up on the Patriots' injury report, and he practiced all week. Brady's struggles against San Diego in the AFC title game were an aberration. Against the Giants, we will see the Brady who won league MVP by throwing 50 touchdowns. On Sunday, he will attack the middle of the field with slot receiver Wes Welker and tight end Benjamin Watson. Welker and Watson are fast enough to split safeties Gibril Wilson and James Butler and help open up the perimeter for speedy wideouts Randy Moss and Donte' Stallworth, with one or both reaching the end zone.
2. The Pats will be able to run the ball effectively. The most under-appreciated aspect of the offense is their rushing attack, which ranked 13th in the NFL. Laurence Maroney has come on as a major force in the postseason. Maroney is particularly successful running up the middle, behind center Dan Koppen and guards Logan Mankins and Russ Hochstein. He should continue to have that sort of impact in the Super Bowl in order to help slow down the Giants' pass rush and give the Patriots' offense some balance.
3. Brady will effectively use play-action against the Giants' aggressive defensive front. He is one of the very best quarterbacks in the league at reading the blitz, and quickly checking to hot routes. The Patriots will spread the field with four- and five-receiver sets and let Brady locate mismatches. Most everything that the Pats do on offense begins with Brady using play-fakes and attacking with short and intermediate passes. The quicker he gets the ball out -- especially on sideline routes -- the better his chances of keeping the chains moving and getting into a rhythm. And he will be able to do exactly that on Sunday.
4. New England should do a good job of handling the Giants' impressive one-two rushing attack of powerful Brandon Jacobs and speedy Ahmad Bradshaw. The Patriots did an excellent job of shutting down Jacksonville's rushing attack, one of the best in the NFL, in their divisional-round victory over the Jaguars. The Pats' run-stopping ability begins with nose tackle Vince Wilfork using his considerable lower-body strength and leverage to clog the middle and force runners to bounce outside to Mike Vrabel and Adalius Thomas. New England's aging inside linebackers, 39-year-old Junior Seau and 34-year-old Tedy Bruschi, should be able to count on Wilfork to keep them free of blockers. The Giants will need at least two blockers to handle to Wilfork, and that should help provide freedom for ends Richard Seymour and Ty Warren, and the Pats' linebackers.
5. Once the Patriots have the Giants' running game under control, they will be able to confuse Eli Manning, or at least keep him off balance, by mixing up fronts and coverages. Although Manning has yet to throw an interception in the postseason, he should count on some pass-rushing configurations that he has never seen before and coverages that will cause him to hold the ball and/or take a sack, make a poor pass under duress, or entice him into making a bad pass.
Vic Carucci Predicts: Pats 42 - Giants 10
Super Bowl prediction: Five reasons why Patriots will win
By Vic Carucci | NFL.com
PHOENIX -- I admire a good underdog story as much as the next guy, and the one featuring the New York Giants is extremely compelling.
They've also written a pretty nice comeback story, turning red-hot at the absolute right time -- the beginning of the postseason.
I like Eli Manning's transformation from underachieving No. 1 overall pick to consistent elite performer. I like Tom Coughlin's transformation from ultra-rigid drill sergeant to a coach who can listen as well as he dictates.
But I don't like anything about the Giants as much as I like the New England Patriots' chances of being 19-0 after Super Bowl XLII.
The Pats had the look of an NFL champion back in August, when I (along with many others) picked them to hoist the Vince Lombardi Trophy for a fourth time. They've since developed the look of dominance that has put them in a position to make history and go down as the greatest team in the history of the league … and one of the greatest in the history of sports.
Here are five reasons why the Patriots will achieve perfection on Sunday:
1. Tom Brady will perform at his best. His much-discussed ankle injury, suffered in the AFC Championship Game, won't be a factor. It didn't even show up on the Patriots' injury report, and he practiced all week. Brady's struggles against San Diego in the AFC title game were an aberration.
Regardless of how they do it, a Patriots victory over the Giants will be the sort of achievement that can be admired for many, many years to come. That's because -- given the 35 seasons that have passed since the Miami Dolphins went 17-0 -- it will likely be many, many years before we see another perfect season in the NFL ... if we see another.
I expect the Patriots to write the final chapter of this incredible season with a blowout win. Final score: Pats 42, Giants 10.

MY PICK: --- PATRIOTS 41 / GIANTS 17 ---
BASN NFL Pick: Giants 27, Patriots 24
BASN NFL Picks: Super Bowl XLII
NEW HAVEN, Ct. -- No more stupid questions about fake injuries. No more marriage proposals from desperate women looking for attention. No more introspective stories about friends, families, and other folks related to the players. No more lame ass stories by lazy reporters about "guarantees".
It's time to get the hypesters the hell off of our TV's, radio, or computers and PLAY THE GOD DAMNED GAME!!! Sorry to be short and to the point, but Super Hype (notice I didn't say Super Bowl) week will do that to ya. After over four decades of Super Bowls, we all know at times the bullshit usually overshadows the actual game.
With Boston and New York being ably represented by Team Tivo and Big Blue on the field, the mess has really hit the fan in Glendale. We've had our daily over dosages of hero worshipping on Foxboro's favorite son. We've seen more fuel thrown into the fire on the whole Tiki vs. Eli "war".
I really don't know what's sillier: The national press trying to verbally pimp slap Plaxico Burress for having the audacity to have confidence in his team or the "up close and personal" accounts of the all the backups who Coach Belichick hasn't played this season.
FACTOID OF THE WEEK
The NFL Network’s Patriots-Giants telecast in December was the first in league history to air on three networks nationally with simulcasts on CBS and NBC and local over the air partners WWOR in New York, WCVB in Boston and WMUR in Manchester. The game drew 34.5 million viewers, was the most-watched show since the Academy Awards on Feb. 25 (40.2 million viewers) and the most-watched NFL regular-season game since Thanksgiving 1995 (Chiefs-Cowboys on NBC, 35.7 million viewers).
TRIVIA QUESTION
Which one of these Super Bowl MVPs did not attend a Historically Black College/University?
A. Jerry Rice
B. Harvey Martin
C. Richard Dent
D. Doug Williams
(The answer comes at the end of the article).
ANALYSIS
Since we're just dealing with one game, we'll try and hit on what I feel are the five things you should watch for when the Giants and Patriots finally get on the field at about 6:30 ET or so.
1. Giants WR Plaxico Burress vs. Patriots CB Asante Samuel: For your old school fans, remember back in the 70's when Philly's 6-foot-10 Harold Carmichael and Washington's 5-foot-9 Pat Fischer used to go at it twice a year for a long stretch? Welcome to the 2008 edition of the good big man against the good little man with the 6-foot-5 Burress and the 5-foot-10 Samuel. While Samuel is likely to get some help from Ellis Hobbs and or Rodney "Personal Foul" Harrison, this is a matchup that New York can and will exploit all Sunday.
2. The rematch factor: As you all know, Super Bowl XLII between the Giants and Patriots is a rematch of Week 17 of the regular season, which was won by New England. Teams winning the regular season match up are a combined 5-6 in a Super Bowl rematch. Since 1990, there have been five regular season Super Bowl rematches. Only the 49ers in Super Bowl XXIX (over the Chargers) have been able to sweep their Super Bowl opponent. In fact, the last rematch should be a familiar one for Patriots fans. They upset the Rams 20-17 in Super Bowl XXXVI for their first title after falling to St. Louis 24-17 in Foxboro.
3. QB pressure: While most media folks were falling for the banana in the tailpipe (i.e. Brady's "injury"), one major thing got overlooked. The Chargers were able to pressure No. 12 into some bad throws as his three picks would attest. Both offensive lines will be tested to the hilt early and often. In the earlier meeting, each team allowed just one sack and Lil' Eli threw the only pick. If the glamour boys are given time, this could be a shootout reminiscent of their regular season game. If not, a low scoring, close game would likely favor the Pats.
4. The Randy ratio: The scariest thing about New England's offense is that during the postseason, Randy Moss has been the world's most talented decoy. With climate controlled conditions, that's gotta change. Yes, Wes Welker and Donte Stallworth have taken up the slack and Laurence Maroney has been a beast. But, when you've got a Rolls Royce, you don't treat it like a Hyundai (a 1,000 apologies to all Hyundai owners, but y'all know what I mean). Even though Big Blue's secondary has had two weeks to recover from their bumps and bruises, the mental scars that Mr. Moss can leave could be felt all the way to 2008's training camp.
5. Reversal of fortunes: The Giants used a strong running game for most their success during the regular season, finishing fourth in the league with 134.3 ypg and a 4.6 ypc average, good for third best in the league. However in the playoffs, their numbers have gone down considerably. Big Blue is averaging 108 ypg on 3.5 ypc in the three playoff games. As for the Pats, who relied more on the pass, averaged 115.6 ypg on the ground and 4.1 ypc in the regular season. In their two playoff games, they've averaged 147 ypg and an impressive 4.9 ypc. However, New England's efforts did come against the 11th and 16th ranked rushing defenses.
THE PICK
It would be so easy to say that New England will win this game hands down. But in the words of Tina Turner, "We just don't do anything easy!!!!" The Giants are arguably on the greatest "Payback" tour since James Brown's last concert at the Apollo. This is not to take anything away from what the Pats have done this season and during this decade. By reaching this Super Bowl, they are clearing stamping themselves as the NFL's elite team of this era. But as the Pats learned during their improbable title run in 2001, destiny can be a bitch. And remember this -- the new destiny's darlings colors also just happen to be of the red, the white, and the blue.
Pick: Giants 27, Patriots 24 (OT).
TRIVIA ANSWER

Super Bowl XLII - Patriots bidding to make NFL history
The Patriots are bidding to become the second team in NFL history to finish a regular season and playoff season without a loss in Sunday's Super Bowl XLII clash with the Giants.
New England nearly ended all this perfect-season talk back in Week 17, when the Giants led the Patriots in the fourth quarter, but let them off the hook in a 38-35 loss.
Since then, the Giants have reeled off three straight road wins as underdogs en route to Super Bowl XLII where they will face New England, who has been underwhelming in winning its two playoff games at Foxboro.
They hook up in Arizona, where the UNDER has prevailed in the last three Super Bowls and the faves have covered two in a row.
Odds makers currently have the Patriots listed as 12-point favorites versus the Giants, while the game's total is sitting at 54½.
The Giants defeated Green Bay 23-20 in overtime as a 7-point underdog in the NFC Championship Game. The combined score went OVER the posted over/under total (40.5).
Lawrence Tynes connected on a 47-yard field goal in overtime to give the Giants the win. Eli Manning completed 21-of-40 passes for 254 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions for New York, while Brandon Jacobs rushed for 67 yards on 21 carries with a score.
The Patriots defeated San Diego 21-12 as a 14-point favorite in the AFC Championship Game. The combined score fell UNDER the posted over/under total (46.5).
Tom Brady passed for 209 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions for New England, while Laurence Maroney rushed for 122 yards on 25 carries with a touchdown in the win.
Meanwhile Brady participated in all phases of practice ahead of Sunday's game against the New York Giants in Super Bowl XLII. Brady did not have his ankle taped outside of his shoe Wednesday and The Patriots did not list Brady's ankle on the injury report.
The Patriots are bidding to become the second team in NFL history to finish a regular season and playoff season without a loss.

Plaxico predicts 23-17 Giants...lol
Tom Brady's response to Plax's predictions of Giants winning
spread was originally at +/-14, then dropped to +/-12 and is now +/-11.5... alot of early money on the Giants dropping the spread... could head back out towards +/-14 if people start using their heads and voting Patriots...lol..j/k
Only bet i've made so far was for Patriots at 9.5 since I got what I felt were good odds.. Will drop something nicer soon..
Is it Sunday yet?
nice to know more is on its way...
"Actually Chad told me yesterday that there is a $7M contract that is aside from this deal that they expect to close soon also!
Doubt it? Just give him a call."
Charlatan, to say the least, amazing job so far....
I wish you all the best and continued success with Numarket Solutions and am sure you will continue to impress...
RVGD... what a monster
LDTI / SGGC... In the making...
Keep 'em comin... We're all looking forward to them...
I'm just stating my position.. You have your opinion, I have mine.. People can and will do as they wish with SGGC and I could care less of their choice, unlike yourself...
In my "fantasy world" I'd cover that 100G's as I have to go with the Pat's on this one.. As much as I'd love to go against the grain, this one is just going to be an outright slaughter...
If you hadn't seen it, 1st post here is the prediction of Ben Burns and he is 10-0 for Superbowls and probably the best NFL handicapper... He thinks Pats going to have a perfect season.. Smart money says Pat's and I gotta agree..
Good luck to you though, I'm sure it's going to be a game to remember..
Ummm.... thats not true. Even though IR is a paid position, you don't have to represent just anything... Chad won't pump scams and honesty does have something to do with it...
