How about tweeting once in a while? Yep, I've wondered that myself. IDCC lacks severely when it comes to self-promotion......not-so-much when it comes to their turn at the trough. JMO
the ST/LT awards and bonuses that were issued for last year's performance…. were agreed to previously... as to the amounts and the percentages.
Data, isn't there any accountability when the BOD makes these salary/bonus decisions? At least an explanation should be presented or is "cash on hand" simply a cookie jar at their disposal? To me it seems very unreasonable considering the share price is about the same as it was 5 years ago. JMO
Wonder if this has anything to do with the decent volume.

Pretty decent volume.....institutions? Short covering? Maybe both considering a couple big block trades. JMO
Mickey, I truly hope you are right-as-rain. But is it possible that Billy and the boys are looking at a "cookie jar" that is flush with cash and just want to grab a handful while the grabbing is good?
Also, I tried a search of past compensation schedules and couldn't find anything beyond last year. Can someone show a comparative chart of the last 5 years salary/bonus schedules? Thanks in advance!
IMO, it's really a shame that shareholders don't get to vote on bonuses. After all, this is a public company.....is it not?
8-K is out. Looks like bonus time for uncle Billy and the boys.
Sons, thanks for keeping us abreast of the goings on with IDCC. We've been here a long time.....what's a few more months?
Mickey, you do know that IDCC's market cap is only $1.14 billion......right?
David, do you have a W.A.G. of what Nokia owes us? Not sure if we'll ever get paid for all past due amounts, but my wag is somewhere between $500m-$1b.
Sons, me thinks the respondents would be leasing vs buying the car or patents. JMO
I actually liked the video with Jane Li better than the article.
Sons, was this remand decision just issued? If so, maybe Loop or Ghors and/or others can digest it and post a condensed version. Tia
Hmmm, didn't IDCC partner with Nokia for R&D about 15 years ago? IIRC, that didn't work out very well.
Thanks Data. Do you think items such as fixed rate vs per unit rate were negotiated before entering arbitration? I hope we learned from the Apple license.
My concerns are: why was Huawei so willing to enter into a binding arbitration with IDCC and I'd love to know the "high/low"numbers. JMO
Thanks Data and OldDog. After reading about the ICC, I have to wonder why Huawei decided to agree with this arbitration.
OldDog, just curious....is this International Chamber Of Commerce represented by random countries? Or maybe we could find out which countries are involved. tia
Doesn't IDCC usually offer their complete portfolio of patents to licensees?
You always ask posters to back up their comments with sources of facts. Well, the fact is our share price is the same as it was in 2006. Here's my question to you: Who has made the most money, management or shareholders? Not to mention the lawyers........their hands have been deeply planted in the cookie jar too. JMO
Aren't these called "performance" bonuses? Keyword.....performance.
dmiller,
I'd like to hear your explanation for no bid. $18 and a BINDING Arbitration and the stock is at $28 and change. Seems like a bargain for someone. Go ahead and explain why it's not. Thanks, I'll await your reply.
Yep, I'd like to hear this as well. And while you're at it, maybe you could spare some time to answer my previous post. Thank you kindly sir!
This stock can't seem to have two up days in a row.
Maybe our esteemed moderator could explain why IDCC is up 2% one day and down 3% the next day. Btw, thank you for taking time out of your busy day to keep us updated!
Wouldn't it be nice if IDCC could move up like ICPT is this morning?
anybody else from this board in Vegas for CES?
Data, did you happen to see Michael Bay walk off the stage?
http://www.foxnews.com/tech/2014/01/06/director-michael-bay-has-apparent-meltdown-at-consumer-electronics-show/?intcmp=features
Thank you! I definitely missed that part.
David, you lost me with the "71% of goal" comment. Did I miss something in the Form 4's? tia
FWIW, Zach's has IDCC ranked a "Strong Buy".

AMC, while I agree with your comments, I still realize IDCC has roughly $18 per share in cash with the stream still coming in. I have to wonder how the downside risk outweighs the upside risk for the 4+ million short shares. Maybe my simplistic mindset just can't wrap my brain around this logic. JMO
Just thinking out loud......judging by the low share price, it appears Wall Street isn't very optimistic about a positive arbitration for IDCC vs Hauwei. Anyone have any thoughts?
That's too bad as I think Howard was the "engine & transmission" AND "calculator with lots of zeros" guy.......was he not?
I wonder if Howard Goldberg still holds shares of IDCC.
In return for a one-time payment by QUALCOMM of $5.5 million, ITC has granted to QUALCOMM a fully paid, royalty-free, worldwide license to use and to sublicense ITC's existing CDMA patents and certain future CDMA patents to make and sell products for IS-95-type wireless applications, including, but not limited to, cellular, PCS, wireless local-loop and satellite applications.
IMO, that $5.5 million is probably the worse money IDCC ever made.
I jumped in because I saw a potential change in mgt strategy.
Soooo, you instantly assume another investor "jumped" in because there wasn't a change in mgmt strategy? You know what they say about the word ass-u-me, right! Me thinks there has been a change in mgmt strategy ever since they shopped themselves a couple years ago.
Miller,
ASR said: timing is everything..place your bets
Then you said: Only reason I hold out hope and bought back in was the arbitration news this week. I believe the latest ITC loss has mgt finally softening on its licensing rates stance. In the end collecting something and having non-lumpy earnings is better than collecting nothing and huge legal fees. I believe this may be a start of something positive.
IMO, you both said the same thing....only different words. Hmmmmm
Before we all start drinking eggnog, I wonder if one of the moderators would make a sticky of the "Arbitration" link. Maybe a few newbies have not seen it yet. Just a thought........ok, time for some Rum-nog :)
Merry Christmas all......even you, Miller!
OldDog, I'd love to know what those high/low numbers are. I imagine IDCC knows Huawie's number and vice-versa.
Loop, will arbitration also determine the length of the license? 3 years? 5 years?
Dmiller, did buy IDCC while it was in the $20's? Might not see that price again for quite awhile. JMO
Umm, hey Buddy, both companies were mentioned in the first sentence. Maybe some coffee might help, lol.
