I told myself that I wasn't going to play any more biotechs. If I can get out of this one, I'm done with them.
Prosensa (RNA) & GSK to have joint webinar next Tuesday.
Granted, P3 results for this drug were disappointing, but the company itself is certainly not a scam biotech. $25 to $5's, got to bounce! (I hope...)
RNA...Nothing new on CC, results clinically meaningful but not stat sig, still strongly committed and still working with GSK.
Averaged down a bit @ $5.75.
RNA: I have over $100K in this Dutch pharma partnered with GSK. The stock fell from $24 to $6 on poor drug study results, but Glaxo flat-out says that they're committed to the partnership.
Not going back to $24 any time soon, but I'm just looking for $8 - $10! Will be a dramatic one-day jump on any sort of positive news.
I was told and shown a picture of the new bun,by a local franchisee, made with a new flour doe.
And it's under a buck, deer me.
LOL, that's an old argument!
I think most experienced traders know it's a grossly oversimplified statement and in his haste to write something catchy he ignores all the variables that we deal with every day in the real world: the chart, the fundamentals, the person's time frame, the cash available, opportunity cost, etc., on and on.
I don't keep track, and I've certainly been burned many times, but over the years averaging-down has worked well for me.
Read your board every day, it's still packed with good ideas!
FNMA: In with you yesterday at $1.50.
Warren Buffet was on CNBC this morning talking about Fannie & Freddie, specifically said, "They are too big to fail." (Interview archived on their site, I believe.)
Going to hold, looking for $2+.
New TSLA disclaimer: "Your mileage may vary depending on time to total incineration."
At first Tesla said that the fire had nothing to do with the battery. It turns out that it did.
Nowhere better. We just need a bit more logical reasoning and compassion, a tad less irrational nonsense and hatred.
it looks like the company going to play water torcher with the shorts
Water torches: how do you light those things?
But at the climax of the day's trading if you're still up, all is good.
Alright! That's what I meant earlier: when Bounce Board people say "make it so" it happens.
RNA...I thought that you and the rest of the board regulars could just cause a bounce by saying "make it so."
So would you guys get on this one and...make it so!
I have a few Persian friends also. There was a steady exodus out of Iran by the middle and upper classes during the Shah's time (basically any family who could afford to go and didn't work directly for the government) which only intensified after the revolution.
It drains a nation of it's most valuable resource, even more valuable than oil. It's a common pattern in many places like Iran, and partly the cause of their current problems.
They have the third largest oil reserves in the world. The nationalization of their entire oil industry was what caused the U.S. and Britain to intervene in the first place, to engineer a coup and install the Shah, whose stupid brutalities eventually caused the revolution and the rise of folks like Khomeini and Ahmadinejad and now Rouhani.
It can be oversimplified, but when people say "it's all about oil" there's a lot of truth to it.
Your board, but you might want to take a deep breath and tone it down. That sort of stuff just doesn't help.
Exactly, but it's not just them. The Federal Employees Health Benefits Program covers more than 8 million other federal employees, retirees and their families. They are required to have coverage, but they are free to shop around within the "exchange" and find what fits them best. Along with Romney's Massachusetts plan, it's one of the models for the Affordable Care Act.
TWGP takeover just a rumor now, but IMHO eventually it's going to happen.
Don't forget FREE BEER!
I understood what you meant, just teasing!
It only takes a minute or two of logical reasoning to see that a pure Flat Tax can never be fair. But as soon as we start talking about income levels, regions, charitable deductions, business income, etc., it becomes obvious that what we're really discussing is a progressive tax plan, just "flatter" than our current system.
A flat tax would, in reality, shift even more of the burden from the rich to the middle class and poor.
Christiane- Some people successfully get around iHub's prohibition on posting the same content to more than two boards within a day by doing it every other day! Talk about clever.
What's your thoughts on this? -ob
If GSK makes a crystal-clear statement of future support for RNA and development of drisapersen we'd see a one-day double, but that's a big if.
RNA...I see some real optimist on the RNA board thinks it's going to $20 by EOY. I don't know about that, but $10 in the near future seems doable.
There's no other way for it to go look who their bed pardner is.
Contrary to popular belief, cowboys do read iHub.
GNVC...Glassy, I'm in yesterday, hope that you haven't given up on it!
Re JCP: Citi analyst says, "The turnaround is taking longer than we anticipated..." Isn't she quoting the captain of the Titanic?
I could be wrong, but I think that they're at an all-time (20-year) low.
Had a very experienced electrician tell me they constantly hound him to join for a steep yearly fee, he'd suddenly have many "unsolicited" recs. Don't know.
S.M.: Always hard to tell someone else when they should have bought or sold, everyone's criteria is different.
In my very humble opinion, you didn't buy at the top, it's going to move up quite a bit from here. But again, you had to do what you had to do. I'm sure you'll make it back!
ps: I just wish a 5k loss was my worst decision of the year. Don't ask.
RNA...Leerink Swann is maintaining its Outperform rating, but cut the price target to $11 from $34!
That's a hell of a cut, but still better than what it's trading at now. Holding a good-sized position for a while.
I wouldn't know a covered call if it came up and bit me in the ass.
Just going to keep all my shares, see what happens next week.
Re OMER & others: At one time I had 100% of my trading money in small biotechs. Losing a few hundred thousand cured me of that delusion.
