So while the Yankees were signing Jacoby Ellsbury...
the Cubs signed infielder Donnie Murphy and catcher George Kottaras to one-year contracts Monday.
Go get 'em Theo.
This week...
I will try to pick my nose.
If I am successful, I will make a pick for Week 14. If not, I will see you next year.
Thank you very much for running the contest again. Nice to be able to step away from life and devote a few minutes here in return for guaranteed enjoyment.
Buffalo please
Ohio State...
was a 17 point favorite to an unranked team and eeked out a 1 point win.
Auburn was a 10 point underdog to the #1 team in the nation, so yes, Auburn was more impressive today. Leap that frog.
Wow is right! What a finish!
Your payroll was closer to 2nd then 15th
Middle of the league payrolls don't win championships.
I hear ya...
I wish the Cubs would buy one.
I wouldn't complain.
Just get the monkey off our back.
From what I can see...
Boston has bought their championships with their continued top 5 payroll.
http://www.stevetheump.com/Payrolls.htm#2004payroll
Their 3 championship years fielded the 2nd highest payroll twice and this year was 3rd highest.
Ouch is watching the St.Louis Cardinals re-load...
while Theo Epstein does things his way.
Congrats to the King!!
All done, good to go...
My daughter wanted to just delete the crapware one at a time going through the ad/remove program list. So that's what we did.
Hooked it up to the internet and downloaded Microsoft Security Essentials. Then downloaded Malwarebytes, SpyBot S&D and Glary.
Ran a pcpitstop scan and she got a score of 5028.
Everything is all good and she is very happy with all 2.99 lbs. of her new Acer.
Thank you everyone for all the input.
CCleaner gave me a ton of headaches/heartaches a year ago...
there is a spot in there that will remove MSE. You have to uncheck it before running CCleaner.
If you don't, MSE will be gone.
The new Acer Aspire S3-391-6497 arrived today...
so my daughter plugged it in tonight to charge up the battery overnight.
She had to do the basic set up of the machine.
One of the things it wanted her to do was enable the McAfee virus protection.
We will be installing Microsoft Security Essentials on it tomorrow, so we figured we'd hit ask me later so as to not have 2 different virus protectors on the machine.
Thought process being that the crapware eliminator we run tomorrow will eliminate the McAfee.
Does this sound about right?
Also, if you have a new machine without virus protection, do you just cross your fingers while you get on the internet and go to Microsoft's site to get MSE?
Thanks.
Newegg deals...
they have a spot to watch for "deal leaks".
The $400 notebook on sale for $250 is already sold out.
Says to check spot for more deal leaks:

In the future...
I would appreciate it if you don't show me one of the coolest clips I ever seen that star one of my division rivals. Thank you.
Go Bears!
Don't worry about a thing...
The Patriots will lose.
I could have taken the Viqueens last week...
ended up with a loss anyway.
Tough year.
I suck.
Just not as much as the Green Bay Packers.
Steelers please.
Over the last few weeks...
my mom had a major clean up needed on her computer.
She also had 10 toolbars on her screen. 8 were easy to knock out, the remaining 2 needed more muscle.
Her Internet Explore got hijacked.
All good now. That's why I questioned your toolbars.
How many toolbars are running at the top of your screen?
Whew...
thanks for bailing me out again!
Flobewan and Bruce stepped in and not a moment too soon...
I was just about to prove once again how silly I can be. LOL.
They can help you much better than I can.
Putting aside the laptop for a minute...
it's the Terminator that is on the fritz, correct?
The Terminator is a desktop?
When you bypass the router and run direct without the router, you still have problems?
What kind of router?
Is this a home network?
Congrats ElisComing!
Very tough competition on this board. No easy deal finishing on top.
Unbelievable...
I'm about 25 miles west of Soldier Field.
We are now at the 2:13 mark of this video:
Yea, no kidding...
A couple times a year, I unplug the electronics and hide under the covers. Today was a bad one 'em. The thunder was not individual strikes. More like a steady train of rumbling with the wind attached.
The worst was down by Peoria where houses were leveled.
They said the Bear game is to resume around 2:25 CST.
It was a really fast moving storm. Moving over 55 MPH. Temps in the mid 60's will fall 25 degrees in the next 4 hours.
The storms here in Chicago...
are pretty bad. The tornado that was on the ground was estimated as an F3 to F4.
Not sure if/when the Bears-Ravens game will re-start.
All TV stations, CBS, NBC, WLS, WGN, FOX and CLTV have all been broadcasting live from their weather centers continuously for almost 2 hours now. Don't remember seeing that before.
Should clear up for a bit, then a milder round 2 will hit again later this afternoon.
2 22 56 and 78 for Chase. Thanks. Been another fun year. Thank you to all!
Thank you...
is this Malwarebytes "Shell Shocker" 40% off deal from Newegg worth it or is the free version sufficient enough?

Thanks...
how do I go about removing the junkware? One at a time or is there a utility?
Houston for Week 11. Thanks!
Ordered that Acer today...
It will be here when she comes home for Thanksgiving.
Do you remove the "junkware" that comes with it?
I see you're still pushing those Viqueens.
I talked to Dell rep today...
gave him 3 requirements.
Windows 7, i5 processor and 3 lbs.
He had me go over to Dell's Business site and there he found the Dell Latitude 14 7000 series.
To match up with the $540.00 Acer we're looking at, we'd have to spend $1,149.00:

Here is a couple 17", Windows 7 models from their business site:
