Loj.....so based on your post are you saying that PTQ will turn around in another three quarters ? What did you mean when you referred to apr 15 as your benchmark date?
Just curious
VB...you may be happy that we have crept up from .55 to .62 but I can't say the same in the least. We should have never been that low to begin with. I have no idea what your purchase price/DCA is but Im down. I realize that it is only on paper and I have no intention of dumping but the fact remains that the SP sucks and you can't spin it any other way.
Time will tell and the numbers don't lie.
"Maybe its time to stop criticizing management every other day, as they are obviously doing a great job."
MJ....as I have stated they are doing a great great compared to where they came from so I dont know what and or whom you are referring to unless I missed something today. We are getting stronger day by day but the SP sure as sh%t doesn't reflect it in the least.
And maybe someone can advise me as I have never been involved in a spinoff before. 1). So why has it been mentioned that when PDI is spun off that PTQ will suffer (SP that is), AND 2) If that is true why buy shares now of PTQ if they will be cheaper after the spinout?? AND 3)....if the SP for PTQ goes down what is the timeline for recovery ?
PS . Im not looking for speculation in regards to spinouts I would like to know true facts.
Thank you.
Im not going to say I have EVER relied on what people think is going to happen with this stock, however based on the good that they(PTQ) have done over time, this stock solely based on performance alone SHOULD be a lot higher then where we stand.
I have no idea what it will take to lift this puppy off the ground anymore and nor do any of you. All I keep hearing is wait..wait...wait. First I believe it was OCT 2011 after our books were reviewed (didnt happen)...then the next quarter (didnt happen)....then APR 15 (who knows)....now SUMMER.
I appreciate input from posters but at the end of the day none of us have a clue when the SP will take off. Speculation is great but it means nothing.
MJ...your posts have definitely changed from throughout the time frame I have been reading them on this board. You are now asking management to be more accountable and deliver. Before....with all due respect....you kept saying you are long and what happens now doesn't bother you and everything is groovy.
You are now beginning to question management's actions/or there lack of and are beginning to sound like myself and JAL !! LOL
That was the most informative CC I have ever heard from PTQ and was happy to say the least.
JAL...as you and I have agreed, they need and have lowered their expectations to easier meet and perhaps exceed their own projections.
The crusher that was late will not assist until the end of JANUARY 2012.
Meeting in MARCH to vote on PDI will be the same date as the RECORD DATE.
What is the last official day for tax loss selling ?
Thank you
Well there it is again...A NEW 52 WEEK LOW on the TSX !! I bet by friday we will be into the high forty area.
Come Friday there will be a lot of talk on this board either way.....God I hope this guy grows a set and tells the truth.
I agree to an extent however if you invest MILLIONS and MILLIONS into a company I think the management team will be a little more apt to please you compared to the small fry. JMHO
You have a better chance of Dimitri answering these questions other than submitting them for the CC......what were your intentions with these valid questions anyhow.
Don't you get it yet...you will NEVER know the true reason...it's all smoke and mirrors my friend. All of us are 'small nuggets" and they don't give a rats ass about you nor I. BUT, I still wonder what the bigger players know and or are thinking at this point about their money in regards to what the Corp presentation alluded too.
MJ..Great questions, too bad they will never be answered properly.
I will once again pose this question...if we came up approx 4000 short this quarter...what are we going to do to meet the expectations of the next quarter. Is it even humanly possibly to yank that much out of the ground with the way things are going plus the "catch up" from these lower numbers ??????
MJ..you mentioned it on the SH board so I thought it should be mentioned here. If we can't make our numbers for Q2, how are we going to be able to move forward into Q3 to produce TWENTY SEVEN THOUSAND OZ.
Does that number need to be revamped so it can be obtainable ???
You watch...a few days from now there will be another PR as there has been in the past of magical ounces showing up from the abyss and in turn added to our bottom line.
LOJ....love the optimism. However I think the sentiment of the board including MJ is that of ...WTF ??????
Once again I truly hope the CC sheds some light on the ongoing issue(s) but I wouldn't bet my left nut on it.
If you can't tell Im on a rant today......how can you as a company go to New Orleans and London and PROMOTE yourself with fantastic numbers expecting potential investors to get on board then weeks later release CRAP.
I wonder if they are wiping the egg off of their faces...how embarrassing.
And MJ you are correct...they did not put "we are pleased to announce" as they would have if they met their projections.
Come on MJ....you generally know whats going on down there. What are your friends saying about the "great numbers". I personally don't believe that the CC will offer up any answers that will satisfy the brunt of investors but who knows..I have been wrong before.
I think Im going to have to re-read this PR over and over and over to fully comprehend it. Where does it state WHY they were below their expectations for the quarter.
These guys really have to lower their expectations just to come close to achieving and upward swing each quarter. It's the only way.
Come on mid-tier ...yeah right !
Forgive me for not offering an intelligent response as I haven't picked my jaw up off of the floor !
Why don't you send in some questions for the CC...IM SURE THEY WILL GET TO THEM !!

I love the optimism of some posters but lets review for the nay sayers.......
1. We have now captured our 52 week low even though the company is strong, stronger than ever (or so it appears)...Great Job !
2. Some people thought (including myself) that this "hiccup" was going to go away when fall approached....afraid not. Now it's spring 2012 and probably summer 2012.
3. We are increasing ALL of our numbers and still we fall like a brick....can't figure that out other than the world itself (more so) Europe has been imploding far too long now.
4. New mining law and other political issues currently going on that we have to wait for yet again.
5. Buyback - well let's not go there as we have exhausted that topic. Just to add one thing....remember when we bought in the low .90's...enough said.
6. INMET - what the hell is going on with the approval for god sakes.
7. PDI spinoff.....enough said.
8. Upcoming quarterly results....MJ believes that even if we shine we will still be in the dark....I agree.
9. New Investors - well we have all seen the list on the Corporate website and I hope they all stick around for if they one day cut their losses and leave, look out !
10. How about the PP holders...almost down FIFTY PERCENT...would you be happy ????? Just remember even if they have been guaranteed the moon nothing is certain in life.
11. Is this a buying opportunity...well of course it is. Anything less than what you purchased it for only makes sense.
12. Do the poor numbers reflect PTQ's performance as a miner.....I would say no, not entirely.
13. The price of gold...a lot of people "in general" thought that it would breach $2000.00 by the end of the year.....think again. The only good thing about that is that we are still making a profit per oz of gold compared to the Corp presentation.
14. And once again I agree with MJ...if you don't sell you won't lose.
15. Oh, and last but not least...In regards to the upcoming conference call.....I hope that 30 minutes is enough for them to fully update the investors of current and future events going on with the company.... IM BEING SARCASTIC OF COURSE !
MJ...you generally seem to have your ear to the ground when it comes to intel when it comes to this Company and what is going on in Panama.
What I have noticed in your posts that differ from previous posts is now you are asking management to be more accountable. Are you too becoming tired of these games ?????
I know that you are very long and in the past once again you have stated that NOTHING in the short term interests you/concerns you but it seems that you have changed your outlook.
Have you ever sent any messages to DIMITRI lately in regards to the 101 questions that EVERYONE on this board thinks about daily.
Just curious.
So are we blaming the current pullback of the SP in people taking profits when it ran up this week? Or is there something else going on here??
Just when you think this puppy has started to move, it falls like a dead duck.
I know, wait till APR 15. I can honestly say that when that date comes and goes and this stock has not commenced lift off, then there are more things going on behind closed doors then you and I are aware of.
I still can't figure it out...all the numbers look good.
And Yes MJ I realize that there are a lot of big boys at play who have done their DD and they know what is going on but it still doesnt add up.

LA MESA, Veraguas .- The deputy chairman of the National Assembly, Hector Aparicio, said that in the upcoming special session convened by the Executive not discuss the issue of reforms to the Code of Mineral Resources as announced.
The President of the Legislative Branch, explained that during the sessions, which will begin on December 5 will discuss only three issues remain the priority agenda withdrawal of Bill 349, which created the system of Public-Private Partnership (APP).
In this topic, Aparicio said there will not even need to download first debate and that will be removed permanently from the agenda of the deputies.
He added that in addition to special sessions will discuss the approval of an agreement between Panama and Peru, as the third item the selection of new judges to the Supreme Court.
Contrary to what we had anticipated the Minister of Trade and Industry, Ricardo Quijano, who said that the issue of mining reform would be discussed at special sessions, Aparicio said: "This issue may be discussed in January next year when you start your period regular Assembly. "
Legislative Chairman, also addressed the issue of continuing medical strike by the National Negotiating Medical Commission and other groups of health workers and said that "no longer makes sense to continue a strike that affects the population. "
Aparicio participated today, Monday November 14, as a champion of civic parade which took place in the 108 years of rallying cry of the district of La Mesa de Veraguas, the separation of Panama from Colombia in 1903.
Thank you.....In all honesty I have no intention being here until 2013-14. I am not looking for that length of time line. If the SP ever hits $1.50 (give or take) .....I have to be honest, I'm long gone with my profits.

#Panama - President Ricardo Martinelli announced in the province of Cocle he would call the National Assembly into special sessions in December 2011. These sessions will cover topics such as the approval of Martinelli's Supreme Court appointments, the discussion of Bill 394 (Mining Code), and to return the controversial bill 349, which would create the Public-Private Partnerships, to committee for further public consultations. Martinelli, who was in the province by the granting of the universal scholarships, said he did not have to call for special sessions "every time," because the National Assembly "should create an agenda evaluate the issues to be discussed," he said. Referring to the possibility of coming changes in the cabinet, the president joked "there are always changes." With regard to the ongoing medical strike, Martinelli said "it is an outrage the physicians are making (with) the Panamanian people." On the subject of returning Bill 349 to the first debate, Martinelli said those articles that should be changed, will be changed. After lamenting the murder of the former Governor of Cocle Dario Fernandez, who was killed last Sunday night, Martinelli announced that a suspect has already been captured. (Panama America)
MJ...I have criticized you on this board and the SH board in the past but one thing is for sure, you always have what appears to be "good intel"....now only if it would pay off one day !!!!!
You know how to light up a board with "your opinions" but I am just wondering....if you are close to the project (and important people) as you lead on, then why has the majority of what you say (believe, hear) not occurred as of yet.
So what happened with this "special session" for the mining code? Has it occurred as of yet and if so what was the result???
Exactly...it's called a smoke screen. " Let's tell the investor something so we can shut them up ". I guess they are forgetting that they purchased in the ninety cent area when they could have been buying in the low sixties let alone the low seventy mark.
At least in NINE trading days (Nov 15) there SHOULD be a bone thrown out to us. Will anything happen as a result in regards to the SP....we will probably go down a penny or two as per our track record even if the numbers are favourable.
Thank you for the reply MJ.
Between this law being put on hold; waiting for the official announcement re PDI spinout and what EXACTLY will be transpiring with it; waiting for the environmental assessment to be completed; waiting to see if the Koreans are going to be on board; waiting for Inmet's involvement in the bigger picture; waiting for the ICMI certification ; waiting for updates re: LP...I just keep saying to myself WTF !!!!
These are just the highlights that are fast approaching..HA !!
And please don't ANYONE tell me to look at the Corp. Presentation for answers as my answer to the above mentioned items is to see them completed once and for all.
Oh by the way, I STILL HAVE NOT received a response from PTQ in regards to my question about COLT's PR....go figure...they must be very busy.
OK, I'll bite...what are you talking about. Are you being sarcastic because I couldn't find an article on that. I thought that had to do with Bill 349 NOT Bill 394 ?
MJ...did you ask anyone down in N.O. about the confusion about COLT's PR like I asked you? Hard to believe but I never received an email in regards to that question yet....they must be very busy !
Let me re-phrase.....I meant to say a significant break out in any one day. My bad
Including today, there are 13 more trading day until the Nov 15 results. What is sad is that even if they are good the SP "probably will not be effected by it". Tick tock tick tock.
Think about it for a minute.....we talk amongst ourselves on this board throwing out dates of "anticipation" and what happens...we make a penny or lose a penny. I can't recall this stock having a large break out other when they we first given the rights to mine (after the Adrian days). Since then, not so much even though we are a producing gold mine. I thought that was the whole idea of a business....being profitable. Oh yeah I guess there is one more thing a company should do.....be loyal to people and don't BS them.
The TSX and the Hang Seng went KA-BOOM ! Hope it keeps up. I knew those donkeys in Europe would work it out eventually.
For anyone who still cares and or is interested, I emailed PTQ to ask which Iberian COLT is referring to.
But now that I think about it, MJ why don't you get the answer right from the horses mouth since you are there......what does FIFER say about it...is it our IBERIAN ???????
Still to date I have sent them (PTQ) questions and still I wait. I would like to know what goes through their mind when they look at the emails. " I'll answer this one...but not this one, nor this one and probably not that one either...that question is too hard and I have no idea how to answer that one !" It truly was refreshing to get an answer in the same day.
Well MJ ?????? What is your interpretation of the response from COLT ?
And in regards to your opinions about investing long term/short term....retail vs institutional ....well that's your opinion and we all have our own..
You must be institutional because if you were truly retail you would want the SP to FLY. I thought we were all here to make money sooner than later preferably ? And if you are truly here for the time frame you elude to then the question is why do you care what transpires right now anyhow ? Who knows what will happen in 3...4..5 years.
I know you are here long term but you can't honestly tell me that you weren't the least disappointed when the SP dropped from the $1.30 level back to .59??? For someone who is soooooo long term why do you follow this EVERY DAY if the day to day events mean absolutely nothing to you ?
How about the PP holders.....I bet they are so excited that they have lost give or take thirty percent of their funds at this point.
Everything that happens such as the soon to be closing of the new mining law, the quarterly results, PDI spinoff, etc etc etc.....you keep mentioning that all of these events will probably have no effect on the SP....SO I ask you what will cause the SP to rise ?
