Sounds good biofalcon....... if it's as bioavailable to the human body as that from fish, it could be a winner.
Another engineered and processed food additive. No thanks. Canola oil is one of the worst seed oils and cooking with it is not healthy. This one cracks me up....
"Moreover, many consumers prefer functional food to meet their nutritional needs." What is a functional food? Is that a new food group?
Kiwi,
Looks pretty good to me........ but..........
Higher consumption of whole grains, which lowers the risk of cardiovascular disease and diabetes. (Compared to what? Pizza? Twinkies? Is so, I'll accept that.)
Lower intake of added sugars, reducing the risk of obesity and diabetes by preventing insulin spikes. (Ta Da, this is the key right here, the root of all evil including Demensia and Alzheimers )
Higher vegetable consumption, (again, compared to what?) providing more micronutrients and antioxidants that lower cancer risk, Alzheimer's, and cellular aging. (macronutrients and antioxidants are great if they are bio-available) It's not a given with plants, they also don't want to be eaten so they have their own toxins.
Moderate alcohol consumption, particularly red wine, which may reduce mortality, especially from heart disease. (No alcohol is better but also less fun )
Agreed but with that said, I don't put a whole lot of faith in any AHA guidelines....... they get major contributions from big Ag and they are just as culpable for the current state of CVD in the world as anyone...... here's another irony....... if the Mediterranean diet is so good... and it is compared to the standard American junk diet.....somebody tell that to the Greeks who happen to be the Mediterranean
As the Capt'n highlighted in an earlier post
Pricing & Reimbursement in Greece couldn't have come at a better time for CVD patients in Greece. The country leads all of Western Europe in CVD Death Rate (473/100,00) in 2021.
Good to see the Bhattman in the general public...... too bad he didn't mention Vascepa in the bit. The other thing that bothers me about articles like this is that it didn't say anything about what caused the issue with this guy. What supplements was he taking? Issues with Covid vaccines? What were his lipids? The guy is a triathlete so clearly seems to care about his body and keeping fit. Now he's gone vegan? I wish him well but unless they figure out what caused this, going vegan won't change anything and it's not going to help his athletic performance.
Yes, it sure feels like controlled accumulation..... that's my gut feel.
Don't forget the positive news regarding CVD indication approval in mainland China......that's a biggie when it occurs.
Yes, I was just speculating that most of it would get done in June........ they don't want to spike the price such they buy back at higher prices so they will do as much as possible while the price is lowest..... that is my reasoning for saying June....... I do think we see a steady rise as they buy back.
I'm guessing this buyback is mostly complete in June.
It's not that you are heartless bastard....... it's that maybe this is a time to keep thoughts like that to yourself under the circumstances. There are many others that think similarly as you but under these circumstances would keep that to themselves.
I would guess that there are cancellation clauses in place in the event of an Amarin change of ownership ,etc.....
Thanks for letting this board know Marjac..... it is so sad to think ones personal demons can be so heavy as to trigger that devastating outcome.
That's why a comment by one of the Adcom approvers sticks with me......."we don't want this to become cardio candy" ...... something like that which implied that everyone would want V. The insurers don't want to pay for it......bastards.
"From your mouth to god's ears"....... who can tell me what play that quote is from? The grand prize is dinner for two at burger world!
Nukem, you had a sheltered childhood if you never heard or used the balloon on the wheels hack.... and over time the balloon pops so there's that....... great video find RT Vegas
Yes Nukem.... playing cards and balloons clipped to our bike spokes with clothes pins.... bad ass sounding....... I still like to play with girls, not gonna lie.
Nice work Capt'n...... now we know where all the smart Docs are located in England.
I'm sure they will announce it of course but my question was more related to timing. Do they have to announce right away or would they pull the trigger on some amount of share purchases prior to announcing approval to the general public !
Thanks Kiwi.....
Thanks Sleven........ a ton of information to wade through but typical of a government agency.
Question for my fellow posters......... since I've never owned stock in a company that needed permission from a government body for a stock buyback, is AMRN required to notify the shareholders immediately upon approval or can they start buying back the stock prior to public notice of approval thus buying back at a lower price? Usually the BOD just authorizes a stock buyback and announces it during an earnings report ( the share price gets a bump ) and then the stock get purchased at various price points over time....at least that's the way I've experienced it.
Congrats North on your birthday........I hope you have many many more years of enjoyment in making money through investments but don't lose sight of spending it on the bucket list, whatever that may be.
Yes Nukem..... especially in Arizona...
CBB, look no further than a guy like Ancel Keyes who in the early 1900's pushed his heart hypothesis that cholesterol caused heart disease and then performed a bunch of biased studies to try to prove it. All of the studies cited were associative and very flawed.... yet the medical community supported him and effectively cancelled opposing views...... this directly lead to making LDL enemy number one and all the energies that followed to lower it including the food pyramid with an increase in calories from carbs and corresponding decrease in animal fats and animal protein. Such a corrupt system. Now we have the number one killer and illness in the world being CVD. Diabetes continues to rise and more and more in kids as well...... it's awful. The AHA is verv culpable in this as you look who provides them with funding.......it's disgusting that people like this don't target the real root causes. They can't admit that by creating the current nutritional guidelines for our population, they are causing all this metabolic disease and then treating it with more drugs. The lawsuits would be 10 times worse than what was done to the cigarette industry.
FFS, I'm locked and loaded.
Agree completely Capt'n........ although it's counter to what what everyone has been taught by the big Ag companies pushing grains and carbs......if you want to lose fat, you have to eat fat instead of carbs.... cut out the carbs/sugars, eat meats and fats, and take your V or EPA if you can't get V. You'll lose weight, fat, and your HDL (the only proven way to get your HDL to rise)will rise while your Trigs will drop.....otherwise folks are just on a path to diabetes and CV issues. We need to improve the health of folks and it's just going the wrong way.
Agreed........it's kind of like.....DHA is great for the brain...... the challenge is how do you get it to the brain? IF generic V is equivalent to brand V, it doesn't have the same bio-availability because of inferior delivery.
Nice job RT...... I need to try asking mine again....... last time I asked, I had to tell them what V actually was.
JRoon, that's my point.....we don't know if they've looked into this.
The one thing we do know is that we don't know if they did any research on this already.
I'm not sure why you and Kiwi think this is such a big waste of time and money..... they don't need to chase a migrane indication..... they have the resources to do a quick patent search and if one doesn't exist, apply for the patent and add it to the portfolio for future use.
Then they better get moving, don't you think! ...... they just need to apply for it Kiwi...... get the app in first...... they won't even own the company by the time it's approved so who cares? BP will follow up.
Why wouldn't they spend time and money on a patent....... it's not that much time and it's not that much money. They don't have to do any lengthy study either..... just get the patent and add it to your patent portfolio to increase the value of the company.
Then you must have traded very successfully on those two major events..... do tell how much profit that you pocketed .
FFS, you are starting to lose some credibility if you fail to admit that what you have highlighted did not predict what was to come, these strong moves occurred after the news, then a new pattern developed as a result of the new trading norms.
FFS, the point I'm making is that of timing.... first let me say, I'm a fan of your technicals but I also know a signal of say bouncing off a top because it couldn't break through, could be smashed through a day later with unexpected news such as a REDUCE-It result or a Du ruling.... the technicals do not see that coming. That is unless there is a leak which can show in the technicals
Yes, technicals are good to use as trade indicators but any news good or bad will throw them out of whack for a time so it's best to pair fundamentals with technicals to get the best picture.
Which is what I did yesterday....... added 1400 more shares because I'm tapped out and couldn't afford to round up to 1500
I was thinking Teva
Let's not get too far out over our skis here....... we're all hoping for rapid expansion into the EU and China but as we also know what Holt mentions over and over which is each country is unique. It's a slow slog and progress is being made. We don't have the China CV indication yet but the application has been accepted......Italy was resubmitted and Spain is in progress.... Germany re submission is still a project..... Holt also keeps reiterating that the US is very profitable....... I may buy more today as Q1 results are always less than hoped for but all is not doom and gloom.
