Thank you. I surely hope the best for all of us. Because someone I know has doubts related to the share structure, my faith has been just a little shaken. That person wouldn't trust any pink sheet CEO in telephone conversation. I spoke with both Bob Farr and Frank Neokomm and, hopefully validly, trust both of them. My plan is to buy more going into fall.
I would welcome more discussion about the chances of our going up connected with the large number of shares available to purchase by "retail" investors like us. From my contact who is skeptical, I get the impression that other stocks we might chose do not have as daunting a share structure. Yes we have visited this in the past but the the subject still is the elephant in the room as far as I am concerned. Until someone convincingly enlightens me.
This message is not a veiled attempt to dis the stock. I am planning on purchasing more.
Happy Sunday, August 1, 2010 to all.
eldertim, what brought you to ARSC?
I agree and intend to continue to add when I have the money to do so.
I reached Bob Farr earlier this morning and it's too bad I didn't record the call. Like other businesses ARSC is suffering from the lack of venture capital in the United States but as we know, they did find a hedge fund to invest - in fact one they knew from the past.
I got an explanation in detail of what would happen were Hydra to become a spinoff. I didn't understand all of what Mr. Farr said well enough to write about it here but, the stockholder would hold both Hydra and ARSC. The share in Hydra would equal the percentage the investor had in ARSC, and the shareholder would end up holding both stocks. He mentioned the word dividend, and details about that.
He and Frank do not take a salary, and use their own money in the event of needing expenses such as paying for a lawyer, covered. So they are actually owed money from the company. It was obvious to me that both of the men are at least as well situated financially as I was growing up, and are likely now committed to ARSC as a great investment. Since I messed up with a substantial inheritance by trusting the wrong person, I must work and am thankful that I do enjoy my job. I asked Bob whether someone in my situation would be well situated were they continue to stay with ARSC. Bob told me he thought I am in good hands.
Mr. Farr owns around 500,000,000 shares, I believe I understood from what he said.
Your post is of great interest - this was the only q I had in mind after getting the share increase settled. Now I know that between them, it seems they own 200 million shares. At this price though, they could go on and buy even more. The fact that it seems they stopped at 100 million per means to me there is a certain lack of greed. I'm not so very far behind them in terms of number of shares and plan to add. Rarely check my accounts because the price has been fluctuating in such a low range.
Please Consider Sticky:
Spoke with Frank Neukomm, CEO, Director, and Robert C. Farr, COO, Director (like that "robert c. farr" = see far)... this morning. No difficulty getting through. Impression 100 percent trustworthy (JMHO i'm intuitive though).
My only questtion: Why the increase in shares?
SHARES INCREASED AS A REQUIREMENT OF THE FUNDING. They are not available for purchase, but the a/s have been increased IF the bank wants shares instead of money some need to be authorized, set aside for the bank, once production occurs. In any case, the bank is confident in ARSC: it'd be satisfied with shares, or money. A/S increased only: not the ones available for people like us to buy.
Robert C. Farr, with whom I spoke second, in the course of the conversation mentioned that, when I mentioned where I "come from" (IHub) that there are it seemed (for probably understandable reasons - ) negative people here and they (the company) don't pay attention to IHub. However, they are confident of the future of their company.
As I told Robert C. Farr, it is not rocket science. The company increased its a/s to back its funding from the bank. One way or the other - either shares or cash, the bank wants to be paid back.
Further funding in coming installments. August was mentioned.
These guys are the best I could have hoped for in terms of being AKAMAI, a term here in Hawaii meaning: "on it," confident, assured, ready and going forward. They were very cordial. I lucked out.
We lucked out. Buy more shares, guys and gals.
Not making this up. Guaranz.
Yeah, I agree. Am aiming for .0002's tomorrow or whenever this week. Kind of think I'll start off each Monday with a buy order on the low side of wherever. At least for now, my sentiment is long, though I do have some flipping shares separate from the long.
Helpful post, for me.
What do you think about the share increase? What would be reasons why the company would have chosen to do that? Thanks.
Please discuss possible positives from our point of view from a share increase, of the available for sale type or any type actually.
I suppose I should go to wikipedia and try to find an article about share structure. I realize a share increase would be viewed negatively and why. Looking for any positive take: and for this stock in particular, possible reasons for an increase, such as backing funding, and whether we have had any confirmation. Apologies for not having combed recent past posts, from last few days, for answers. I did find time's from 7/6, one in particular giving his point of view, which isn't sunny.
from an ARSC investor with a sizable chunk
In memory of timetofly: Am heavily invested, and will miss timetofly, whose last messages I have just read. He was very intensely supportive of this stock and took a heavy hit adjusting or trying to adjust to the share situation.
Helpful frame around the situation from you. Not itching to sell; it's just one more red stock in the portfolio. We shall see what happens in the fall and onward.
yep (as in "yes")
I did. It was several weeks ago. May have some .0002's too, but did not go higher and most are .0001's. It was before the big run, and I had enough confidence to keep.
I hope you are right but I don't understand. Keep posting and making your point and it might become clearer to me. ;)
Thank you. A little clarity.
timetofly I am really appreciating your posts and those of others here too - I am such a long at heart. I really hope we stay in a long mode and don't get involved in excessive flipping in and out. If the price per share has a good bottom to it, we should be ok with a little of the selling and buying at dips. I'd be ok with that. But basically, I want to be looong in this stock.
Thank you for your honesty about your own investment. I may have made the same mistake with another stock, or I may not...depends on what happens with that stock... but I am tired of investing high and selling low as the stock, nearly always at the top of IHub's board, mesmerizes its investors and promises never come through.
The fire sale enabled me to invest in ARSC. It does sound like someone without a conscience was around before my time. ... I hope you are back in.
Thank you.
KOOL to da max. Thanks.
HYDRA: I loved your post. How long might this take - ?
How REALISTIC is the implementation and wide usage of the technology "TODAY" - meaning - there have been lots of good ideas: many of them have been around for a long time unimplemented because of vested interests in keeping the status quo in terms of power source.
For example: getting people the ability to live OFF GRID. Some pioneering people on the Big Island here do that. Great; but my first thought was - how widely would this be allowed - are there not vested interests, large corporations, wanting to keep us dependent on paying for fuel, electricity? HOW LONG would a real change in this area occur?
I have not read widely enough the DD because when I began to do it, I had no way to judge how, or more important to me, when, the good stuff I was reading about would really broadly be bought into widely. How many years? 10-20? Less?
Heavily invested.
Hello: Sent you an e-mail Saturday morning Honolulu time.
Did you sell your shares? haven't been here in a while.
i'm holding onto mine only because nothing to be gained from selling.
alohastate. If there is a lower entry point and I am solid on the decision I will buy back in. But if I do that, this would be the second time I have bought back in at the low after losing a lot of money.
I amjust coming in in the middle of this exchange with Scotch. I read his reply first. At the end of the day I wanted to see how QASP was doing. Impressed that you have held at the price at which you bought and have never flipped. So while you may appear to be a bear, to me your post was encouraging to stay the course. I cannot very well dump out now, with all my shares so devalued.
One is so much more expensive than the other; you must have much available to invest. I'm in QASP because I believe in the long term for it and regard it as bigger than any other pink of my acquaintance.
I am prejudiced by a history of closely following the DD posted here for many months, and reading posts of people who are long, who have much much more money than I do invested, who have been in at least twice as long as I and never left.
QASP is the center of my portfolio. I have averaged down, have stock in two brokerage accounts, and may resort to "flipping" some of my shares depending on how things look tomorrow and as the week progresses. HOWEVER: I am long in essence and will always keep my share level at a certain level, a nice round number it took me some time to reach.
Dean's photo also plays into my confidence, I must admit. That face is to me, hard to doubt.
Thanks.
Hugh: thank you for posting the latest messages I found when returning to this site, three days after you posted! My account moved today finally with the pattern we are all familiar with taking place again.... days or weeks of no activity, then someone buys, and the bid appears. Holding.
ME TOO.
ME TO.
Maybe people are letting go of partials, as you say.
Yes. I set it up the night before. i am six hours behind the market.
Thank you for taking the time to write this. I plan to continue to hold for a while.
Thanks. Really!
GET WELL. Holding strong.
Write to the CEO with your ideas! Then you could wait and call to follow up.
Perhaps you could treat the letter specially, by sending it with more than a 44 cent stamp, and ask for it to be signed for, even by Mike. Admittedly, this gets a little dramatic. Just a thought.
Thank you. Land of 1,000 Lakes ?? Yep; I just checked online.
Chief: Where are you?
HANK. Be well. . .
Scottrade allowed me to buy this - I simply bought it online. Zecco did not allow me. THis is a switch of the characters of the two brokerages in the case of TCLIF.
