Bob,
thanks for the reply. i am currently holding all and am most happy with the results that ECU has returned. fortunately for me, my average ECU cost per share is at 0.19, although I have been holding since late 2003, as well as the others. of course yukon zinc latest trend is very disappointing. i am very encouraged with New Guinea Gold; have seen it make some nice runs. this last correction has been a learning experience for me, as well as for other investors. i'm still learning and trying to get a feel the nature of this beast (investing/trading). the dialogue on this board has proven very enlightening, when i get around to visiting this site. i hope it remains this way. glty and all.

hats of to you, Bobwins! a worthy initiative on your part to take on the task of setting this board up. can you share any light on the inactivity that has been displayed on the juniors, or is it just a glitch on my computer? i keep drawing a blank.
other than the activity issue, have you reviewed ecuxf.pk, ngugf.pk, rgctf.pk, kbgcf.pk or yzccf.pk? what's your perception on these juniors? glty

I read an article in SmartMoney magazine about investor/businessman John Lynch and his take on WiMax. The latter part of the article tells how Mr. Lynch is on the ground floor of WiMax technology; that he inherited a license for 50 megahertz's of spectrum in FL when he bought the assets of a defunct telecom company and is now negotiating to sell the license for $2m to a company that will deploy its Internet and Internet Telephony via WiMax. Lynch: "It's a new story with new equipment. The telephone and cable companies are going to take a big hit, but the companies involved-giants like Intel and IBM-are going to benefit tremendously."
As a GTE investor, I appreciate Mr. Lynch's insight; just wondering which telecom company in Florida is he negotiating to sale the assets/license to? Hmmmm! Comments? glta longs.
tpaero: your thoughts are on track, imo. this adventure is indeed a rough one; but this ship will sail on with the russian deal or without it. the big picture is still in sight and there will undoubtedly be obstacles, such as those we are dealing with right now. huff's ultimate vision and goal for this company, which attracted me as an investor, is still intact and my confidence is not shaken. i cannot claim the longevity that you and many other GTEers can but i am in this one for the l-o-n-g haul because GTE definitely has the right stuff with huff at the helm, imho. glty and all longs.

hello all. the present rate of growth that the wireless telecom sector is presently seeing reminds me of the dot-com boom. the new WireMax (802.16) companies seem to be sprouting like dandelions all over the world. when all is said and done and the market has become saturated, we will relive an event similar to the dot-com bust. GlobeTel is best positioned to survive the pending bust because GTE offers the platform through which the other WiMax survivors will be delivering their offerings: voice, data, tv, finance... etc; GTE has enough aces in its hand to become one of the world's most significant/strategic conglomerates. we might last ten more years as GTE; then we will be required to break up due to newly created antitrust rules created to address GlobeTel's unique niche, that no on will be able to compete against. this is how I am hoping for things to develop and imho. glta

Holein1: my post was in reference to my week end newspaper market in review stock listings. i had not previously reveiwed the listings from the paper for quite some time when i first noticed; but after going back to compare a few days earlier in the week, i noticed that the trailers to GlobeTel's name were there already. i just didn't fully grasp the footnote explanation of the "h" trailer (GlobeTel-nh) which explained: "h-temporary exempt from NASDAQ capital and surplus listing qualification." i hope that this explains my confusion. glty.
Q-reus
greetings all. while perusing the stock listings, i noticed that GlobeTel's listing is trailed with *nh*. i realize that the *n* is used to designate "new issue in the last year". i looked in the footnotes to find that *h* is explained as: "temporary exempt from NASDAQ capital and surplus listing qualification". could this mean a temporary halt in trading, or am i way off track? please elaborate... anyone?

There is an IP Conference/Expo scheduled to be held in Moscow in May, 10-13, 2006. I am wondering if GTE or its European subsidiary or Russian partner, Intenafta, will announce plans for attendance. It would definitely work to our benefit, imho.

kevinaok: i hope you are wrong. i'm thinking that rupert is attempting to create more, substantial, competition for us; realizing the scope of the market that we will be serving. the fact that he owns the ny times leaves a bitter taste in my mouth and i hope that fact minimizes any possibility of any future association of GTE with rupert murdoch. glty
showmebill, with all due respect, that info was previously announced last year. that particular site does reflects the current date, however, should you revisit that site and scroll down nearly half way, you will find another GTE article. it's header date also reflects the present, but the article refers to events that occurred last summer. here is the link that i am referring to: http://www.intelecard.com/worthaclick/03icnwire.asp?ICNwireID=1920

re: GlobeTel Comm, Globe Telecom & G-Card
There is an association between GlobeTel & Globe Telecom, from which they agreed to work together in launching the G-Card in the Phillipines. It dates back to 2004, when we were GTEL. I guess the big question is, what's the status of that agreement? See the following link:

livelong': thanks for the WiMAX lessons. i took a statement from the Howstuffworks article that possibly addresses our situation with GTE, which alludes to why our sp is so unstable; imho. our (GTE's) ultimate success threatens the long established success of our competitors.
"WiMAX doesn't just pose a threat to providers of DSL and cable-modem service. The WiMAX protocol is designed to accommodate several different methods of data transmission, one of which is Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP). VoIP allows people to make local, long-distance and even international calls through a broadband Internet connection, bypassing phone companies entirely. If WiMAX-compatible computers become very common, the use of VoIP could increase dramatically. Almost anyone with a laptop could make VoIP calls." glty & all.

how did you manage that? was it a coincidence that our posts were on the same track or are you armed with the info right beside you? the reason i submitted my post was to see if there are any telecoms affiliated with MF, and TimeWarner could possibly fill the slot. just looking for reasoning behind MF's motives; reminds me of the ny post with its affiliate.

Greetings All. GlobeTel is destined for success, imho, and the course that Tim Huff’s chosen for this company is culminating into the biggest success of the early years of this new century. Some company board members and investors could easy fill the role of some of our world leaders, but have chosen to associate themselves with GlobeTel. Just think about that for a moment. Our COB has actually sat with two of the most powerful men in the world, strategizing world events; with the Pres. of the U.S. and the P.M. of Great. Britain on multiple occasions. What does he see in us? …something that we are not privy to, obviously. There is interest in our company from people who belong in an investment group that consists of a former U.S. Sec’ty of State and other former DC power hitters and world players. What do They see in us? We have the interest of the rest of the world, just as thuff planned. We'll save the best for last. The consumer market here doesn’t have to believe yet, imo, because the U.S. is not the target at this time. Every past successful venture has had its nay-sayers and those who have called them a fraud or worse and advised to stay away. I remember reading and hearing advice to stay away from Google’s IPO. Look where they are now. Win some, lose some. GTE is a winner. Seth had better NOT be holding any GTE at this time, or any time soon!!! Thanks for letting me give my two cents and thanks to all for your enlightening input that’s shared on this board.

dinotori: eqmx's post #19086 probably addreses your query. the russian agreement proved to be a very pleasant surprise, to me anyway, since i found there to be no real emphasis on that contract. i suspect that the other completed contract announcements with financial agreements are forthcoming. i did review the 10Q that was released in November, which had no mention of working with the russian principals, and reached the opinion that the german and other contract announcements will probably be coming up. it is ironic that the russian development was not included. this is all imho. here is a portion of that 10Q:
GlobeTel Wireless, Germany Contract
The Company, through GlobeTel Wireless, is utilizing the HotZone assets and technology in developing WIMAX wireless systems for deployment in areas the Company identifies and markets to. Future considerations include the use of the Company's Stratellites(TM), which will provide radio technology for the wireless communications that will cover significant geographic areas up to 120,000 square miles, and, in addition, provide advanced wireless products and services for terrestrial wide area networks covering rural and city areas. Upon deployment of the Stratellite(TM), on a region-by-region and country-by-country basis the communications technology will deliver high speed voice, data and rich streaming content, as well as other communications possibilities.
On August 1, 2005, we announced that our new division (a subsidiary), GlobeTel Wireless, had been awarded a contract to install wireless networks in three German cities. The contract will provide high-speed wireless networks for internet connectivity starting with the town of Kaiserslautern, and continuing with nearby communities. Kaiserslautern is a city of 100,000 people, located 100 miles South West of Frankfurt. Construction of the project is to begin in December 2005. GlobeTel Wireless will install these first Wireless Networks in Germany as part of the roll out plan to deploy wireless communication networks to non-DSL communities, in identified geographic markets.
GlobeTel Wireless Network, Pilot Program
On August 7, 2005, we announced an agreement to provide a GlobeTel Wireless communication network for a pilot program in Shenzhen, China with Guangdong Tietong South Communication Co. Ltd, a group company of China Tietong Telecom Corporation, one of only 6 licensed telecom operators in China. Upon successful completion of the pilot program, GlobeTel Wireless and its local Chinese partners will commence a roll out of wireless communication networks throughout China to deliver voice, data and video applications. The agreement was reached with Nessociet Inc., an organization working towards the development of next generation wireless telephony services and NGN Telecom Corporation, the partner to Guangdong Tietong South Communication Co. Ltd., in marketing VoIP services in China. We also announced that Nessociet Inc. has become a reseller of GlobeTel Wireless networks and equipment in Asia.
Cooperative Research and Development Agreement - Center for Solar Energy and Hydrogen Research Baden-Wuerttemberg
On September 6, 2005, we announced that our subsidiary, Sanswire Networks LLC (Sanswire), had signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with the Center for Solar Energy and Hydrogen Research Baden-Wuerttemberg (ZSW). The LOI states that ZSW will provide research and development engineering support under a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement for the development of a state-of-the-art solar-electric propulsion system for our Stratellite airship.
Joint Venture Agreement - Kashiwabara Token Corporation
On September 8, 2005, we announced that our subsidiary, Sanswire Networks LLC, has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Kashiwabara Token Corporation of Iwakuni City, Japan, to enter a joint venture in the establishment of a terrestrial ground-based wireless broadband and communications system, a prelude to the deployment of the Sanswire Stratellite Airship broadband network in Japan. Kashiwabara Token Corporation holds a controlling interest of a major cell phone system in the Hiroshima and Yamaguchi prefectures as well as the ICAN Cable television system in Japan.
Services Agreement - Global Crossing Ltd. (NASDAQ: GLBC)
On October 6, 2005, Global Crossing announced that we selected its integrated, global IP-based network to offer international cable companies and Internet Service Providers (ISPs) a completely customizable Voice over IP (VoIP) solution for clients located in Latin America and the Caribbean. Starting in October 2005, we will use Global Crossing IP Transit(TM), Global Crossing VoIP Local Service(TM) and Global Crossing VoIP Outbound(TM) to provide international service providers with end-to-end VoIP from anywhere in the United States to Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, Mexico, Peru and the entire Caribbean. We selected Global Crossing to launch our turnkey VoIP solution for international service providers because of its network's extensive reach, as well as its reputation for industry-leading technology, reliability and security. Global Crossing VoIP Local Service will provide GlobeTel's customers local numbers in the United States that end-users can dial at no charge. With Global Crossing IP Transit, calls to these numbers will be routed to Global Crossing's VoIP network through an IP-based connection. Global Crossing VoIP Outbound will then transport the packet-based voice traffic to Latin America and the Caribbean and complete the call. Global Crossing has built one of the world's most extensive integrated voice networks. By providing a dedicated connection and transporting calls across a secure, private backbone, the company ensures its voice traffic receives maximum protection. VoIP packets are given highest priority in Global Crossing's IP backbone, which translates into reliable, carrier-quality service with minimized latency, packet loss and jitter, as well as call quality that is even and predictable.

greetings all... mr. huff offered us some insight from the Shareholders' Letter (8/2/05), which came to be, and there's a statement alluding to the flight of Sans II that keeps me wondering that it might have been tested already. the following item was taken from the shareholders' letter - Conclusion:
In summary, with the launch of a fully-operational Sanswire Two test-bed during the up coming months, we anticipate that we will (i) complete at least one strategic funding partnership with commitments expected to exceed GlobeTel's current market capitalization and (ii) launch our first, fully operational, commercial vehicle in cooperation with our strategic partner under long-term contracts to a variety of media, cell-phone, broadband, security, environmental and charitable organizations during the latter months of 2006.
...and taken from the 2nd Qtr. 2005 Results PR:
Timothy Huff, CEO of GlobeTel, stated, "We continue to be excited about the future of the Company. The losses we incurred were expected as we grew our business. We expect our losses to diminish and reach profitability by the end of the year as we now operate out of our new facilities and as we launch our other products. As I previously stated, the Company is stronger than it has ever been.
...taken from the VOIP Magazine article:
The demonstration showcased the equipment’s capability and usability when it established Internet and DECt phone connectivity inside the Russian Parliament building, thereby helping launch negotiations with a group of Russian investors that resulted in the finalized agreement.
now, GTE has fulfilled most of those projections and of course the suspicion of Sanswire II flight is total conjecture on my part; but those other statements by mr. huff have come to past. i can't wait to here when the Strat will have actually flown. glta
Q-reus
in reply to justfrank, post #18641, i've been wondering about the demo that was provided at the Duma bldg in Russia. is it possible that Sanswire II could have been assembled, deployed and tested there, since they seem to be the first in line with a financial contract opposed to LOI's? a russian launch of Sanswire II would make sense to me, especially if there are hundreds of millions of dollars waiting for a successful launch/test and would avert bureaucratic delays here that could further put off pending tests.
In early October, following months of preliminary discussions, GlobeTel CEO Timothy Huff - along with GlobeTel Wireless President, Uli Altvater and Sanswire President Bob Jones - demonstrated a working version of the HotZone 4010 equipment that will form the backbone of the new 30-city network. At that demonstration, the HotZone 4010 system successfully provided internet and DECT phone connectivity inside the Duma Building, quickly establishing its capabilities and ease of use. Largely upon the strength of that presentation, GlobeTel immediately entered in substantive negotiations with a group of prominent Russian investors for the implementation of the network which has resulted in today's agreement. "It is beyond exciting to be able to bring this level of connectivity to Russia," said GlobeTel CEO Tim Huff. "Russia will, quickly and at a relatively modest cost, have a wireless infrastructure that will rival any in the industrialized world. This presents an amazing opportunity for us, for Russia and for our Russian partners. that excerpt was taken from the Unstrung site: http://www.unstrung.com/document.asp?doc_id=86201&WT.svl=wire1_1

greetings all. dugan>> i agree with your and others' sentiment regarding the effects of MF's article. the "too many irons in the fire" reference in your post is meant positively, i take it. that's one of this company's strengths, imo, and it will put us in the class of conglomerate, as compared to telecom or financial institution. besides that, i was wondering, hmmm? ...what if the encoded date from the 8k was written in as 1/1 (***), 2006? US$150,000,000 (ONE HUNDRED FIFTY MILLION US DOLLARS) to be paid on or before *** 2006 (the "Initial Payment"). just wishful thinking; but wouldn't that knock evryone's socks off?!. i guess we'll find out, in due time. my confidence in GTE has not been compromised, whatsoever. GlobeTel's time is at hand. cheers and happy new year.

adding the name of Frost and Sullivan as a GTE observer (if I may), has an ironic twist about it and is definitely positive for GlobeTel. rocky, that WiMAX forum has an interesting listing of companies and a crowded one at that. the list reminds me of the dotcom boom, from its growing numbers. time will tell who will be the top players and who shall get weeded out, as i am confident of GTE's ultimate success. i am also psyched by the thought that many, if not most, of those companies that are listed will be delivering their services through Sanswire's technology. thanks for the continued research and updates that you share with all of us.

The Kashiwabara name seems to be very prominent in the Samurai society in Japan. Shinji Kashiwabara is the superintendent of the Iwakuni Art Museum, located in Iwakuni. Business interests outside of the museum, through Kashiwabara Token Corp and ICAN Cable television system in Japan, seems to be in Hiroshima and Yamoguchi and other locations outside of Iwakuni, which probably explains ShakeyGuy's refernce to another company providing Iwakuni's wireless services. I attempted to find info about ICAN Cable television system in Japan, but was unsuccessfull.
