O/T: Howdy,
Same problem persists. Check with Matt Brown, lots of things keep changing here - and I don't see the "Unblock" selection that I think used to be there. You could also click on my profile and see if you need to hit "Unhide", etc.
John
Enjoy.

ps: You might want to sign up (free) at http://www.newsalert.com/ to get realtime PRs in your email. There have been a couple of IVOC PRs lately that I haven't had time to post.
You were a reasonably active and involved poster, and I thought you might enjoy the job.
If the idea doesn't suit you, just let me know.

Hey, Mang................
No kidding.
John
Jarvis,
You should have absolutely no emotions or expectations attached to this deal whatsoever.
This is a wild-arse, stumbling drunk, Spare Casino Money Only "..gamble..". Look at who's in charge...!!!
Figure out just exactly how much money you would enjoy throwing off the back of a River Boat Casino for the pure pleasure of seeing it flutter down into the water and disappear into the wake behind the paddle wheel. Invest that much, and put in a GTC SELL for half of it at about a 5 bagger.
You can always throw more at it - if you see real News in the New York Slimes.
This methodolgy will save you a "..tushload.." of grief.
John
ps: This does not apply to 'skunks'; ......I want to fly her new jet...... "...Tee hee...........
Because TWC is a reasonably reputable major corporation.
A) They don't give a rat's tush if QBID makes it or not - at the HQ level.
B) Their subsidiaries need to carry this ball.
C) If the subs can make profit from QBID's signal, the HQ will take notice.
D) TWC is going to put absolutely "0" of its credibility or rep behind F.O.
E) Every step of the journey is going to have to be PROFESSIONALLY earned - the media biz is a (w)itch.
Keep in mind, TWC could buy F.O. out (..and he can sell you out with his SuperVoting Shares..) in a flash. If this deal starts to roll, nobody in their right mind would leave F.O. in charge. He's a buffoon, with the reputation of a venemous snake. Do your DD on the lawsuits.
John
Jarvis,
You'd be wise to overlook short term appearances and seek out the front-to-back knowlege the man has.
There are a number of us who have been here since the early GAAY days. One piece at a time, we have separated the truth from the lies, put the possibilities into practical perspective, and tried to shake the fluff out like dust in a rug at Spring cleaning.
Frank Olsen has about 15 calculated versions of every story he tells. They range from the almost-factual to the absolute BS he uses to get people to hang up the phone. Fatso is the Master of the manipulated Tactical Leak. This is clearly evidenced by the abject BS "DD" (aka:..PP..) spattered on the Board at RavingBoolschmidt by the alias-dated-yesterday, ALL CAPS Know-it-Alls.
WW has been pretty close to the inside, and is a better interpreter than most. Pay attention. He may make you, or save you, a ton - based on a multitude of cross-referenced sources. That's the only way to decipher (..without a match..) whether Feahwuss Fwankie is passing gas, shoveling schmidt, or mistakenly and out of character - telling you the real deal.
John
O/T, but scholastically relevent to the recent discussions:
I think it's rather funny how everyone seems so terrified of a well-studied or correctly referenced religious - Christian in my case - viewpoint. "....Heavens to Mergatroid...." that anyone should mention the "..G-word.." or the "..J-word.." and upset the little "..if it feels good do it.." apple cart. It makes one wonder what the apparently offended and anti-vampire, finger-crossing squeamish are so desperate to hide from.
FWIW: The Bible has been one of the most important historic and formative documents ever printed, and it's still the biggest seller - the last time I looked. It's certainly no threat to anyone, unless one is personally feeling some overwhelming pangs of conscience, of course. Cookie Jar syndrome for the secularly correct among us...!! Tee hee hee.
This is not a promotion of any kind, it's simply a suggested mind expanding excercise.
I have an interesting acedemic challenge for anyone with the scholarly fortitude to take me up on it. First, let's consider the Bible as just another book. It's got a front cover, a beginning and an ending, a spine, a rear cover, and goodly collection of pages in between. War & Peace is about the same size.
Rather than grind through it the hard way, I would suggest picking up (..borrowing, if you like..) a set of audio tapes (..or CD..) of the entire book - read by someone with a Charlton Heston or George C. Scott quality voice. Now, I'll tell you before hand, the "..begets and begats.." section of the first half ( Old Testament ) reads about like the storm and rough seas portion of Das Boot - the German sea sick sub movie. After that, it's easily as readable and story-full as the Hobit, A Tale of Two Cities or any other semi-historical novel. Besides, you're not actually reading - just coasting along scanning with the help of the narrator
The nice thing about completing a read/listen like that is the ability to use or recall some of the references that people use in conversations. Or, in Simon and Garfunkel tunes, etc.... I don't suspect that many will get into Concordance review or comparing the actual English text to the original Hebrew/Greek, but there are a lot of words and phrases that have had their meanings highly skewed from their original Herbrew/Greek context.
One item in particular that I found interesting is the "...thou shalt not kill.." verbiage associated with the 10 Commandments. Lots of people wave their Bibles and proclaim "...thou shall not kill..." at executions, and deployments to war, etc. Actually, that's not what that passage says at all. The original Hebrew/Greek from which that phrase is taken is properly translated as "..thou shall not murder..". In other words, there is no Biblical statement preventing properly considered and just executions or death in righteous battle. It is clearly forbidden, however, to shoot someone; i.e.: convenience store robbery or jealous rage style.
I'm certainly not asking you to subscribe to the views in the above paragraph one way or the other. But, it is fun to know what the original text REALLY said, as opposed to what someone might try and erroniously convince you it said.
Well. There's still a month or so of winter to coast through. So, maybe someone will give it a try - just for the educational value.
What they "..hey..", aye..................
John
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha...........................
John
I enjoy watching you grow up.............
Jarvis,
I could give you an ENABLING CONTRACT that gave you exclusive permission to build the world's tallest building in most beautiful downtown Bumphucqe, Nebraska - solely for the provision of low-rent residential and commerical accomodations for the GLBT population, to the exclusion of all others....!!!
However, if I never give you a purchase order, a Notice to Proceed, or fund the project - or if I make it contigent upon dues receviable from every gay bar, interior defecator, and same-sex boutique in the country - all you have is a pretty piece of framable paper.
Frank has a contract (..piece of paper..) that is bloody well meaningless until he gets TW's "...SUBSIDIARIES..." to order the programming - which will be piped through T-W central.
Capice.....!?! No launch = no signal (i.e.: NO BEEF), no Subsidary orders = no money, no money = no funny, and situation is SNAFU as usual for 5+ years.
Query of the day: "............WHERE'S THE BEEF............."???
John
Interesting.
There's obviously a lot on the "..bennies.." side both now and in the future that is:
a) jealously sought after.
b) not discussed openly due to the subterfuge involved.
Rush had a very interesting discussion today about all the bonehead liberal judges that are "..legislating from the bench.." ( like those openly criticized WackO's who were fiddling with the elections in CA ). That, as opposed to laws being preserved, protected, altered or made new by the Legislatures (national and state) whose rightful job it is.
More to come............
John
O/T:
Hi,
I can't answer you by PM because you have apparently blocked me by mistake when you went to my profile page and were perhaps member-marking me.
If you fix that, I can respond to your PM of this afternoon.
John
Well, it's certainly nice that you've taken the time and correct approach at addressing the problem - as you see it.
I'm concerned that there are far reaching Constitutional and legal issues involved; intended by the leftists to further weaken and subvert our laws and statutes towards "..Hillary-promoted Shades-of-Gray Mushism.." that then keep the ACLU busy-busy, and give rise to more Demoncrat programs to save all "..us poorly educated yute's and chillun's.." from our silly selves.....
There's a lot more to this big push for GLBT 'rights' (..which aren't rights, but privileges or plays for more give-away deals..). And, we're not being told the half of it.

Cycle Country's Lawn and Garden Accessories Cut Time and Tough Mowing Jobs
MILFORD, Iowa, Feb. 24, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Cycle Country Accessories Corp. (AMEX:ATC), the outright leader in developing and manufacturing select custom-fitting accessories for the all-terrain vehicle (ATV) and other diversified industry products, announced a 140% increase in preliminary mower orders compared to the same time last year. Industry trends contributing to this rise are demand for larger, more versatile ATVs and small tractors with capabilities to handle large or tough mowing conditions.
Cycle Country's Rough Cut Mower will handle tall weeds, overgrown brush, even small trees. Hills, wet grass conditions, and other obstacles are virtually eliminated when this sturdy mower is attached to an ATV or small tractor. The versatility of the Quicksilver 54 finishing cut mower allows the operator to attach the mower in either the front or the back of the ATV. The three 18-inch blades satisfy the demand for a wider and smoother cut.
"The continuing popularity of larger, more versatile ATVs and small tractors propel the design of our lawn and garden accessories," said Mr. Ron Hickman, CEO and President of Cycle Country Accessories. "We are committed to providing lawn and garden accessories that meet the needs and demands of this stable and expanding industry."
The Outdoor Power Equipment Institute (OPEI) stated that record levels of home mortgage refinancing and tax cuts helped the demand for, and provided the cash to purchase outdoor power equipment over the past year. OPEI reported a 5% increase in outdoor power equipment such as lawnmowers, garden tractors, utility vehicles, and other related products for model year 2003 over 2002 with total shipments at 8,103,217 units. Power Systems Research Company reported production of commercial mowing equipment grew approximately 8% in the last five years.

I think the problem is that your reading the situation arse-backwards, Dave.
The laws, on the books, more specifically preventing sodomy under the old definition of the word, are not only a basic attempt to prevent immorality - but it's certainly a public health issue. It's not, as you have stated elsewhere, an attempt to legislate morality. And, the President is sworn to protect and uphold the laws of the land.
There is sound medical principle for discouraging male-male (anal) sex. As it was explained to me, during normal male-female sexual intercourse there is a constituent in male sperm that temporarily nullifies a womans antibody reaction, so she may become impregnated (..if so desired..). After some reasonable period, the woman's immune system overcomes the nullifying enzyme/protein/whatever and kills the balance of the sperm, semen and any other foreign agents that entered here vaginal tract during the act. The remnants are usually referred to as the "..wet spot.." and/or the female's discharge into her undergarments throughout the following night/day/whatever.
When a male reinjects a male repeatedly, the same delivery constituent shuts down the receiving male's immune system temporarily; but the recipient doesn't have the female's defense component to turn that back on. Hence, after repeated injections of male sperm, over time, the recipient's immune system may become totally turned off = AIDS.
I'm no doctor, and I may have fumbled the details, but the action-reaction I've described was presented on an AMA-type program, and I presume the man had no reason to obfuscate as he was presenting to a technical sophisticated medical audience.
The Jews abstained from pork historically, and we now know that may have had a lot to do with age-old wisdom to prevent tricinosis ( http://www.slider.com/enc/53000/trichina.htm ) which can sicken and kill humans if the meat is misprepared.
Since you object to God-based references, "..the wisdom of the ages.." has also been passed down through law from 3000+ years ago, that boys butt-poking other boys is a "..Bozo no-no.."!!!
I don't care if Barney Frank, Rock Hudson, Barbara Streisand and The (W)ITCH all think its BS Politically Correct to promote irresponsible, medically unsupportable, abnormal sexual behavior - but, I'm damn glad that George Bush will do what he swore he would do when he took his oath of office. That's a hell of an improvement over "..which way is the wind blowing and the polls showing.." Slick Willy Clintwit - who needed to carry a can of stain-remover in his pocket 24/7.
If you hired me (..same priciple..) and I promised to advance your comapany's goals, rules and ethics - then I went 45 degrees off course against your wishes, I think I'd deserve to get fired. George, on the other hand, is doing exactly what he swore he would do when he took the job - so your logic is flawed IMHO.
I hope you'll give that some thought. So far we haven't had anymore airliners crash into any more tall buildings, Saddass Hussein is in the slammer, Osama Lama DingDong is about to be snagged, and Geroge is trying to support or at least reduce the spread of AIDS. Hard to fault the guy for that.

Pakistan troops hunt bin Laden
By Greg Sheridan, Foreign editor - February 25, 2004
PAKISTAN has sent helicopter gunships, ground troops and paramilitary forces to its remote northwest frontier provinces to hunt down al-Qa'ida fugitives, and perhaps Osama bin Laden.
The move comes after British reports that bin Laden had been cornered in the area and is likely to be captured or killed in the next few days.
Previously, Pakistan has claimed its military could not operate in the lawless tribal areas where both al-Qa'ida and the deposed Taliban from neighbouring Afghanistan have widespread support.
That claim would make the regime of General Pervez Musharraf one of the only military dictatorships to find a key piece of its own territory beyond its influence. This would be doubly odd given Pakistan's ability to operate beyond its borders.
Its notorious Inter Services Intelligence directorate effectively created the Taliban in Afghanistan, and has financed, supported and at times directed terrorist operations in several parts of the world.
But Pakistan under Musharraf has become the wild card of international politics. No one, but no one, knows which end is being played against which in Pakistani politics.
However, it may be that the two recent assassination attempts against Musharraf have convinced him that he has to destroy al-Qa'ida and the Taliban in his own country or they will destroy him.
There are other intriguing and mysterious dynamics at work. We have just learnt that Abdul Qadeer Khan, the father of Pakistan's nuclear bomb, has sold nuclear weapons technology and materials over many years to Libya, North Korea and Iran. The Pakistanis have claimed Dr Khan did this without government knowledge.
Yet Washington and even New Delhi have more or less accepted this ludicrous explanation at face value, although privately both US and Indian officials scorn it.
Thus, the greatest and most destructive act of nuclear proliferation in the history of the human race has gone largely unprotested, largely unremarked.
The reason Washington and New Delhi have taken this benign attitude is that they believe Musharraf, for all his spectacular history of duplicity and military adventurism, is their best bet in turning Pakistan against terrorism, Islamist extremism and nuclear proliferation.
As a result, right now Musharraf owes Washington big time.
What better way to repay such a debt than by producing bin Laden?
The capture of bin Laden would totally transform the dynamics of the US presidential election.
It would vindicate virtually everything Bush has done since 9/11.
While the intricate conspiracies within conspiracies that constitute Pakistani military politics are beyond external analysis, there has always been a minority view, especially in Indian intelligence, which knows Pakistan better than anyone, that the Pakistanis either have bin Laden in custody or would be able to lay their hands on him if they really wanted to.
At the very least, they're making a new show of trying to help the Americans by fighting the terrorists. At the most, they could be offering a much bigger prize indeed.
At the same time, in the US, President George W. Bush told a meeting of governors that "we are on the hunt for al-Qa'ida ... we're going pretty good, better than pretty good".

Sorry, skunks,
I'm not familiar with that one, but there are so many golf stocks out there in one phase or another of pursuing that prize or changing riders in the middle of the stream that I don't think I'd be real interested.
Were I you, I would look seriously at MYIQ, MAMH, AMHI, GMED and DNAP for long term "..collect & holds..". WTAI seems to be coming back nicely, also. LBTT screamed yesterday (..don't know anything about it..) and it's green again this morning; surprising after an 800% gain yesterday.
Good luck.
John
ps: BTOR is certainly one to look at. And, AVHC is awaiting a name and CUSIP change - cheap today,
Quite possible. If not babysitting it fulltime, some appropriate GTCs could get you some good flips.
The current trend looks like a MFMMM-walkdown. That might be tied to the buy-back rumor, just in case there is any validity at all to that. However, that would seem to have about the same veracity as another l(a)unch.
Good luck.
John
I forget where I got in and out of TRBY at, but it looks like that one must be treating you OK finally.
Good luck.
John
Hi Jim,
Unfortunately, the blithering blather-rate on RB has dropped to about 900 posts-per-day.
If QBID doesn't show some solid results pretty soon, your prognostication - that I would normally agree with - might be in jeopardy. People are grossly tired of unsupportable fluff, and paper-airplane contracts.
John
Wow. It looks like LBTT went completely ape-dungy today...!!

Looks like another good collecting day, Dave.

Elders hand over al-Qaida aids http://english.aljazeera.net/NR/exeres/6341FD99-D21A-40E4-B721-6BBD940DC0E3.htm
Monday 23 February 2004, 11:58 Makka Time, 8:58 GMT
Pakistani tribesmen in the mountainous region bordering Afghanistan have handed over dozens of people suspected of sheltering al-Qaida fighters, an official said.
Threatened by the prospect of a large-scale Pakistan military offensive to seize the suspects, tribal elders bowed to pressure and presented authorities with al-Qaida sympathisers on Monday.
"About 60% of those linked to al-Qaida or working as facilitators have been handed over to the local authorities," the official said.
The official did not say how many suspects had been detained, but security sources earlier said authorities were looking for about 90 people accused of offering shelter to al-Qaida and Taliban fugitives in the mountainous South Waziristan area along the Afghan border.
Afghan officials suspect tribesmen in South Waziristan provide sanctuary to militants involved in attacks against the US-led coalition and Afghan forces in the provinces of Khost, Paktia and Paktika.
Deadline over
The tribal elders handed over the accused over the past few days following a 20 February deadline given by the government last week.
The government earlier deployed thousands of troops for an operation into the area if tribal elders failed to hand over the suspects and those protecting them.
However, Information Minister Shaikh Rashid said on Monday that "no offensive has been launched so far".
"Troops have been deployed in the area to plug the entry of undesired elements," Rashid said.
No sign of Bin Ladin
"This step is part of Pakistan's commitment to the international community against terrorism"
Shaikh Rashid,
Information Minister
The minister on Sunday dismissed suggestions that beefing up of troops followed reports that al-Qaida chief Usama bin Ladin and his close associates had been spotted in the area.
"This step is not any individual specific but it is a part of Pakistan's commitment to the international community against terrorism."
The US military last week said an operation was being prepared on both sides of the border.
"We're moving in the direction of cooperative operations on both sides of the border - a hammer and anvil approach if you will," said Lt Gen David Barno, commander of the coalition forces in Afghanistan.
Pakistani military officials said troops would conduct an operation whenever there was a requirement to do so.
"There has never been and there would never be any involvement of foreign troops in any operation on our side of the border," military spokesman Maj Gen Shaukat Sultan said on Sunday.
Border security
Tens of thousands of Pakistani troops have been deployed along the porous 1600km border for the past two years and the country has arrested more than 500 al-Qaida and Taliban suspects.
President Pervez Musharraf recently warned foreign militants hiding in the tribal belt to surrender or face the consequences.
Pakistani troops killed eight al-Qaida suspects and arrested 18 others in a major operation launched in South Waziristan in October.
The authorities have warned that those sheltering the suspects will be sentenced to seven years in jail and fined $26,300.
MYIQ is booming today. I have a lot of faith that the company will do well over the long haul. Very little hype, and steady progress so far.

It would appear that you are as busy bulding your own castles in the sky, as Feahwuss Fwankie seems to be - building empires in the vacuum of his equally mediocre mind.
Sure would be nice if all those concepts, stategies and functional bubble-diagrams could be converted into something tangiable for a change.
You also do a marvelous job of hands-free typing, ol' Son. Portnoy would be proud of you.
Have a nice day & "...GOoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo QBID..."!!!

O/T: Another penny is making some decent progress today, ya'll should check out MYIQ.

O/T & OBTW: 'Denile' is a river in Egypt; just in case you missed the one day they discussed World Geography prior to your graduation from the Jesse Jackarse School for the Totally Confused but Presumably Politically Correct.
Well now. You've played the HATE card. And, that failed to to give you a biddable pair. There are only 3 or 4 persons whom I consider worthy of that much concerted effort. Stalin and Hitler are already dead, Saddass Hussein is in the slammer, and Osama Lama DingDong is surrounded and hiding in a stinking cave in Afghanistan. Once the latter is behind USA-controlled bars then he gets 'demoted' to the rank of pathetic arsehole, also. Hence, four No Trump to you.
Since you apparently aren't qualified to prescribe so much as a Bayer aspirin, I submit that your medical/psychological advice is grossly suspect. When you can post a copy of your sheepskin from the Jerry Springer School for Advanced Psychological Studies do so, and I'll make an appointment.
What next...??? Are you going to try to bluff with a pair of Jokers and a 4 of Spades high, or simply try to finesse me with your Homophobe card.
The big issue on the table here, is "..when is that fat, lying bullschmitter Frank Olsen going to do something besides feed his face at the stockholders expense, fart, and take up space.."??? There's supposed to be Billions in advertising and product money on the table from those whom you choose to align yourself with. All I want to know, after 5+ years, is "............WHERE'S THE BEEF.............."!?!
Have a nice day, aye.
