torgo...
I was wondering the same thing that dread was....how is it you came upon this bus "deal" information...?
While Torvecian was away, he was....
a) Walking the length of the Great Wall of China looking for Gary Eidlin
b) Inventing his own IVT to see just how difficult it is to bring to market
c) Conducting a study on the long term affects from pine tar exposure - (the findings are not good)
d) binge drinking with senior execs from Oshkosh to see what info spills out of them
e) none of the above
As you know...
I see dots everywhere...LOL
In the midst of traveling and signing off for a few days...have a nice weekend everyone..
And now up to 13% institutional for the last 30 days....
I believe it was 72% institutional or so from the other day that you posted...add it to the mysteries of the world...who, why, what, where and when....LOL
That has my attention..
Nice last hour of the day for TOVC....
Someone wanted to get their hands on 15,000 or so shares of TOVC late in the day....including a 9000 share block at 25 minutes before the close...
....late day up action brings happiness with it....
The published short position on TOVC for February is unchanged from the January position.....

It's running at full speed on that one...
I say we have dread drive Hillary to Oswego...
...in the iso-torque equipped Z at a high rate of speed just to get her attention...then hit her with the whole IVT school bus deal, then cocktails...
Hi zendo...
regarding the annual report containing updates....those filings are historical...meaning they report things that have already occurred during the reporting period....
The volume of information presented at the shareholders meeting just 4 weeks ago seemed to cover a significant amount of ground on the "what is happening" topic.....I take out of that information that alot is happening...
Given all that appears to have gone on during the quiet period, I'm all for the quietness....
Artguy.....
Your posts are insightfull, well thought out and a pleasure to read. It's great having you here as an active participant on this forum....you haven't attacked anyone...it's you who has been slighted by others like many before....what's interesting is that you were openly crictical of some of Torvec's strategies and decision making...now that you have taken the time to learn more about the company and the people in it, you have a bettor appreciation for the process, people, tech and the future for the company....a logical person would look at that and see an intelligent person that appears to have changed many of their negative opinions to positive because they took the time to figure it out...for that you get cirticised..? Not logical...
Thanks for sharing all that you do here...you're grasp of the technical side of the many topics here are very helpful and articulated in a way that helps many of us who are not as technically knowledgable.....and , i might add, that I rarely find a wasted word in your musings...
Keep it coming...I think you've got another 3 or 4 minutes of fame left in you...LOL
Sheriff.......
They're delaying everything just to annoy you.....
In all candor....
As I stated on this forum, I felt there was going to be something occurring in Q4 of 2006. Knowing what we now know from the shareholders meeting last month added to whatever number of things going on that they can't tell us about, I have developed a calmness about where this is all heading...... The complexities of integrating new tech into the auto industry cuase things to take a long time. Given where Torvec is now with the entire suite of products refined and ready to go, no debt, momentum in terms of industry visibility, multiple irons in the fire, players at the table....the positioning is pretty close to perfect for Torvec.
10 years of heavy lifting BEHIND them has created an entity cabable of going in a number of directions. An acquisition would be great...commercializing a few of the technologies with manufacturing partners would be great and provide something more tangible for the market to value the comapany by....given the apparent amount of activity going on, I beleive we are in store for some type of event that will be better for shareholders now than had it occurred a year or two ago...the elapsed time has allowed for the company to be in a stronger position to obtain fair value for their tech, which translates to fair value for investors....when will it happen..? when it happens...given the complexities of a player evaluating the tech for lisencing or acquisition, add to that the mountain of paper that the lawyers will create and you have a recipe for this stuff taking longer than we as investors would like....
As I said, I have a very calm, comfortable feeling about where this is going to take us and frankly, i don't care in what order it happens...I would suggest that commercializing one or two of the techs would create an intermediate, sustainable value rise that would position the share price in a better range to justify what a major player would need to pay to buy the whole thing...it's easier to tell your shareholders we just paid $27 per share for Torvec when the stock is at $15 than when it's at $4......
My cystal ball on "when" has had to keep re-setting itself (LOL)but I think that is a very good thing because the "wait" has produced a product that is better and stronger to sell to the marketplace in pieces or all at once...
Onward.....
allnumbers.........
I find that poster's statement to be very thought provoking..
"Re: OSK buying Torvec?
They would be very fortunate and wise to acquire this particular development company. Someone is going to get the keys to the next 30-40 years with this technology"
It is going to be a fascinating decision making process for shareholders upon an annoucement of Torvec being acquired once it happens....people will be making literally, in some cases, life changing decisions to hold or sell...The poster from the OSK board I think has the right idea about how long Torvec's existing products and their offspring will be a factor for an acquiring company...exit strategies for investors will be varied from sell on the news, to hold forever the acquiring company's shares for the maturation and maximization of the true value of Torvec's tech...some of us might not be around in 30 or 40 years, but Torvec's tech will be in some fashion......
Perhaps...
.....just because nothing has been announced, doesn't mean it isnot continuing...to me the final stage of a deal is the most difficult and tedious part of the relationship to conclude...this isn't like going out and buying a Subway Franchise...this could take some time and still be "final stage"...
Bullseye...
.......crickets.......
This is interesting...............
Is GM Readying to Scoop Up Rival Chrysler?
Reuters
DETROIT (Feb. 16) - General Motors Corp. is in talks to buy the Chrysler Group in its entirety, Automotive News reported on Friday, citing unnamed sources in Germany and the United States.
The automotive trade publication reported on its Web site that high-level talks were talking place between GM and Chrysler Group parent DaimlerChrysler AG.
The potential deal between the two automakers could go beyond cooperation on joint development of a large sport utility vehicle, the magazine said.
A spokesman for GM declined to comment.
"We often have discussions with automakers routinely. We don't comment on speculation of discussions," GM spokesman Tony Cervone said.
DaimlerChrysler also had no comment on the report.
Speculation surrounding a possible sale or spinoff of Chrysler Group has built since DaimlerChrysler Chief Executive Dieter Zetsche said this week that all options were open for its struggling North American unit.
Shares of DaimlerChrysler rose in reaction to the report while GM shares slipped.
DaimlerChrysler shares were up 3.7 percent to $72.85 in trading on the New York Stock Exchange. Shares of GM were off 26 cents to $36.18.
The following parable is probably not that far from the truth about the state of American car companies strategies...
A Modern Parable (sound familiar)
A Japanese company (Toyota ) and an American company (General
Motors) decided to have a canoe race on the Missouri River . Both teams practiced
long and hard to reach their peak performance before the race.
On the big day, the Japanese won by a mile. The Americans, very
discouraged and depressed, decided to investigate the reason for the crushing defeat.
A Management team made up of senior management was formed to investigate
and recommend appropriate action.
Their conclusion was the Japanese had 8 people rowing and 1 person
steering, while the American team had 8 people steering and 1 person
rowing.
Feeling a deeper study was in order, American management hired a
Consulting company and paid them a large amount of money for a second
opinion. They advised, of course, that too many people were steering the boat,
while not enough people were rowing.
Not sure of how to utilize that information, but wanting to prevent
another loss to the Japanese, the rowing team's management structure was
totally reorganized to 4 steering supervisors, 3 area steering
superintendents and 1 assistant superintendent steering manager.
They also implemented a new performance system that would give the 1
person rowing the boat greater incentive to work harder. It was called
the "Rowing Team Quality First Program", with meetings, dinners and free pens
for the rower. There was discussion of getting new paddles, canoes and other
equipment, extra vacation days for practices and bonuses.
The next year the Japanese won by two miles. Humiliated, the
American management laid off the rower for poor performance, halted
development of a new canoe, sold the paddles, and canceled all Capital
investments for new equipment. The money saved was distributed to the
Senior Executives as bonuses and the next year's racing team was
Out-sourced to India.
Job...
Your Torvec youtube page full of Torvec videos looks great...
The channel 13 spots have had some nice hit numbers....134 views on one of them....Can't wait till you get to post the news video annoucing the sale of Torvec to (fill in blank) in a transaction worth $950,000,000 in an all stock transaction...in a related story, you will see video of one of Torvec's happier shareholders running toward Charlotte Beach wearing nothing but swim fins and big smile his face...
In the now famous words of Joe Biden...
"He's clean and articulate"......
I agree Artguy...

Thanks Artguy...
Another layer will be peeled back for more people to see what Torvec holds....you are correct..this story is way beyond better car parts...how this story ends is more in focus for me...
Sure would be nice to have the NY national desk pick up on the story...

Sorry...
I'm a bad reader...
I do know what has happened to the stock today though..all of the 300 people who stood and applauded at the end of the shareholder meeting each sold 340 shares today...
Is that how you add value to your company..?
(Not meant as a flame...) As as investor in Torvec, sitting and waiting is the last thing I want the management of Torvec to do...
You won't be in the psych wing....
"We got a pool and a pond"...the pond will freeze in the winter....nothing gets the juices flowin like a little geriatric pond hockey...we're going to put boards in but they will be lower than normal so you don't pull a groin goin over them on shift changes...
Nice organized attack on the stock today...classic...
(Note to self....)
(Call architect and add 75 feet to original psych wing addition for batting cage...)
Interesting comment about short term CEO's.....
"A short term CEO can look at all this and think, 'what do I care, I have my exit covered, why take the risk, why divert profits now?' Others really ought to bet the farm, if they want to stay in business 20 years from now. Seems like at least a couple are ready to do that"
20 years from now, having reaped the vast rewards of a bold CEO's move to acquire Torvec in 2007, we will all be hanging out at Tor Acres, (which will soon have a pysch wing added to the architechural drawings) and collecting massive dividend checks from holding the acquiring company's shares all that time....
14424 is the zip code for ....
Canadaigua....redbonejr14424 might be from there...yahoo profile says the profile was last updated in 2001...Once again, thank you to Al Gore for inventing the internet.....
Somehow....somewhere...
The Torvec story is going to be heard on a grand scale...it's the chicken or the egg....which comes first....an "event" of some magnitude that wakes up the press who then can jump on the bandwagon, or an enterprising news outlet that recognizes that the story is starting to unfold in front of our eyes and can project the story from an "in-depth understanding of the technology" view point....not enough sensationalistic angles on it apparently....
and .......
it had bettor not be even one bar shorter than Iron Butterfly's album version of Inagottadavida...
Being tucked in is fine with me too allnumbers...
Torvec has got to be an enigma to these big players...on the surface, you got this small company, small office with a small staff, no debt to speak of, low overhead R & D facilities, inventors/family actively involved in directing operations of the company in little old Rochester NY....
Once you peel back the skin of what you see on the surface is a company that has developed multiple technologies with game-changing potential, meaningful market penetration possibilites that are now ready for commercialization...it has got to be hard for a prospective suitor of Torvec to look at what they are sitting on and while marveling at the tech, they can't help but see the "smallness" factor in terms of the appearanceof the company. How in the world do you as a potential suitor fight through the "smallness" factor while looking at properly valuing the present value of the tech for an acquisition....? The reality of it is, I can't think of a cleaner way to acquire a company like Torvec without the baggage of debt and a large staff and facilities..etc..etc..it all comes down to what the tech is worth long term (alot) and finding the correct balance between a fair deal for TOVC shareholders that also makes for a solid business decision to deliver to the acquiring company's shareholders...then I look at the $4.95 share price and know that the magic number is way north of that....
Having had time to absorb the shareholder meeting info, review the new players on the team from 2006, the amount of activity that we know about and look at what the G's and manamgement at TOVC seem to want to do with the company and I keep coming to the conclusion that it's a matter of time before we are rewarded as shareholders...I think it was Leitrim who said that Torvec is sold by 6/07...I'm thinking that is a pretty good estimate.....
He certainly is a multi-tasker...
