Oh please!!
That's your excuse. It would be hilarious if you didn't truly believe it.
Come stand in your front yard and let me shoot my hand cannon at you. Maybe I will miss most of the time!
I gave you a perfectly good answer
You chose to dismiss it and claim I ducked.
Is your name on the No Fly List?
You talk like you just woke up from a yearlong nap.
Israel made it very clear in June that they would enter Gaza and take whatever territory it took to get Hamas to stop firing those rockets. They also made it very clear that they would not stop until Hamas unconditionally agreed to stop firing those rockets. They also made it very clear that they would not give back any territory they captured this time.
Meanwhile, Hamas has taken the years of Israel leaving them alone to build an extensive military tunnel system and amass massive arms with which to rain down death upon Israel.
Nearly 3,000 rockets have been fired upon Israel since June.
And you want me to believe it is because Israel is fighting back.
You are trying to convince the wrong person. I personally believe that carpet bombing is the only thing the Gazan people will understand. Level 25% of Gaza and then ask if they are still ready to let Hamas hide behind them. Then level 25% more and ask them again. Level the whole place if they need to.
Make any foreign politician who disagrees with them live in Israel for a year.
I also agree with Dresden in WW2.
Until you break the will of the civilian population, there will be no peace.
Sorry Tinner
I don't do straw men.
If rockets were landing in your neighborhood, wouldn't you want your military to do whatever it took to stop them?
Go Figger
JDST was higher yesterday when gold was $14 higher than it is right now.
Because it is and was the right thing to do.
Hamas has stated publicly many times that they want to kill each and every Israeli on the face of the earth.
Are you going to watch that happen?
So Tinner
You really believe this line? In retaliation, Palestinian resistance fighters have fired rockets into Israel.

September 2013: Hamas ally, the Muslim Brotherhood, is ousted from government in Egypt. Egyptian military leadership declares war on Hamas and economically and militarily crushes Gaza by closing down tunnels into Egypt.
Gaza economy experiences heavy losses. Unemployment exceeds 40 percent. Fuel shortages and power outages plague the coastal strip as water and public sanitation systems fail.
Hamas is increasingly isolated in the Arab world. Both Syria and Iran cut their support to the organization.
May 2014: Rocket attacks from Gaza to Israel increase.
June 2014: Hamas forms a national unity government with arch-rival Fatah. Hope among Palestinians is high.
The unity government, controlled by Fatah, agrees tothe following: recognition of Israel, compliance to diplomatic agreements, renunciation of violence. Fatah sets its sight on controlling Gaza.
Israel tells Fatah it must choose either peace with Israel or Hamas. Israel halts peace talks with Fatah-led Palestinian Authority; launches expansion into settlements in occupied West Bank.
Economic conditions in Gaza continue to deteriorate. Gaza police close banks.
June 12: Three Israeli teenagers are kidnapped and killed in the West Bank. The PA aides the Israeli Defense Forces in clamping down on Hamas in the West Bank. Tension between Hamas and Fatah escalate.
Palestinian street protests erupt, as much in opposition to Israeli action as solidarity with Hamas and protest against the PA.
Hamas unleashes hundreds of rockets into Israel.
July 7, 2014: The Israeli Defense Forces launch Operation Protective Edge. Its goal: stop the incessant rocket attacks into Israel.
The link I posted is from Forbes
It says that the entire mine is only industrial grade diamonds. They have no real quantity of jewelry quality gems.
It further goes on to say that elsewhere in the world, current industrial diamonds are the byproduct of mining for jewelry quality diamonds.
It also goes on to say that the sale of the industrial diamonds doesn't net anywhere near the cost of mining them. Sort of like a gold mine selling gravel to paving companies. If there wasn't gold to be recovered first, they wouldn't be able to afford to supply the gravel.
Yes it was.
Is The Diamond Market About To Collapse Over Huge Russian Find?
http://www.forbes.com/sites/timworstall/2012/09/18/is-the-diamond-market-about-to-collapse-over-huge-russian-find/
I have some knowledge of how these sorts of announcements from Russia go. There’s often a slight disconnect between the profit that can be made from some mineral resource and the value assigned to that mineral resource. I have a feeling that this might apply to this announcement of a huge diamond field in Russia:
Russia is about to start tapping into a huge source of diamonds that could supply the world market for the next 3,000 years.
Scientists estimate there are ‘trillions of carats’ lying beneath a 35million-year-old asteroid crater in Siberia – more than ten times the global stockpile.
The Kremlin has known about the reserves under the 62-mile-wide impact zone since the 1970s.
But it has kept it a secret until now because it was already reaping big profits in what back then was a heavily controlled market.
I wouldn’t doubt at all that there are the reported trillions of carats of diamonds in that asteroid impact crater. Such impacts are a known cause of diamonds forming after all. However, I am a great deal less convinced that the find will be of any value: or that it will ever be mined.
For the value of any mineral deposit is not the value of the minerals in it. It’s the value of those minerals minus the cost of extracting them. With gemstone diamonds this doesn’t usually matter: the value is so high that almost any mining technique is profitable. But these aren’t gemstone diamonds:
Russian scientists are claiming that a gigantic deposit of industrial diamonds found in a huge Siberian meteorite crater during Soviet times could revolutionise industry.
The Siberian branch of Russian Academy of Sciences said that the Popigai crater in eastern Siberia contains “many trillions of carats” of so-called “impact diamonds” good for technological purposes, not for jewellery, and far exceeding the currently known global deposits of conventional diamonds.
We have an entirely acceptable substitute for natural industrial diamonds: lab grown industrial diamonds. And we almost always find that the lab grown ones, the artificial ones, are cheaper than the mined ones.
Indeed, as a rough sketch, not a wholly accurate one but one that’s good enough, no one actually does go mining for industrial diamonds. You go mining for gemstone ones and those that you find which are not up to grade are sold as industrial ones. At prices that don’t cover their mining costs: the whole exercise is only made profitable by the much higher prices received for gemstone quality.
So I don’t doubt that there is a huge deposit of industrial diamonds there. What I do doubt is whether anyone will ever bother to go and dig them up. When we can make diamond powders in labs simply enough, why bother trying to build a vast mine in Northern Siberia, one of the most inhospitable places on the planet?

NO FEAR OF ARREST
Illegal immigrants protest outside White House, with little fear of repercussions
Published July 28, 2014FoxNews.com

Illegal immigrant demonstrators were protesting outside the White House on Monday – but don’t expect America’s immigration officers to intervene.
An Immigration and Customs Enforcement official indicated that even if the protesters end up getting arrested by D.C. police, they’d have to be serious criminals for ICE to get involved.
“Unless the individuals meet ICE’s enforcement priorities, it’s unlikely that the agency would get involved in the case,” the official told FoxNews.com.
Under a policy that’s been in effect for several years, ICE focuses deportation mostly on serious criminals and – in some cases -- those caught in the act of crossing the border. The agency prioritizes deportation for felons, repeat offenders, gang members and others with a serious criminal record. But the agency largely gives a pass to other undocumented residents.
This is why illegal immigrant activists can protest outside the White House without worrying too much about ICE.
They did so at lunchtime on Monday, marching across Lafayette Park to the White House and advocating a reprieve for illegal immigrant parents who brought their children to the U.S. – and whose children have benefited from a separate reprieve issued in 2012 by the Department of Homeland Security.
According to The Washington Times, illegal immigrant protesters also planned to demonstrate outside the White House on Monday afternoon, to call on immigration groups to boycott any administration meetings until illegal immigrants are included in those talks.

Illegals demand representation in White House meetings
Illegal immigrants plan to picket the White House Monday afternoon, calling on fellow immigrant-rights advocacy groups to refuse to meet with the Obama administration until President Obama specifically includes illegal immigrants in any future meetings.
“We are among the millions of people who will either benefit or be harmed by the decisions the President makes, and we are here to represent ourselves in any future negotiations,” said Rosi Carrasco, one of organizers, in a statement announcing the action.
PHOTOS: Hand cannons: The world's most powerful handguns
Billing themselves “undocumented immigrant leaders,” the organizers said they will erect a picket line to symbolize their demand.
The groups are fighting to keep momentum in the immigration debate, which has seemingly turned against them in recent weeks as Mr. Obama tries to deal with the surge of illegal immigrant children and families across the border.
That has complicated the president’s stated desire to claim executive powers to halt even more deportations for illegal immigrants already in the interior of the U.S. The immigration advocates had hoped he would halt all or most deportations, but Mr. Obama is under pressure to get tougher on illegal immigration in order to avoid sending the wrong message to Central Americans who are surging across the border, hoping to gain a foothold in the U.S.

If the Warmists are correct (they're not)
Then it doesn't matter where in the world this coal is burned. Not burning it here just makes our energy costs increase that much more.
US sending 'dirty' coal overseas
Dina Cappiello, Associated Press 9:13 a.m. EDT July 28, 2014
Obama Exporting Pollu_Schi.jpg
(
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – As the Obama administration weans the U.S. off dirty fuels blamed for global warming, energy companies have been sending more of America's unwanted energy leftovers to other parts of the world where they could create even more pollution.
This fossil fuel trade threatens to undermine President Barack Obama's strategy for reducing the gases blamed for climate change and reveals a little-discussed side effect of countries acting alone on a global problem. The contribution of this exported pollution to global warming is not something the administration wants to measure, or even talk about.
"This is the single biggest flaw in U.S. climate policy," said Roger Martella, the former general counsel at the Environmental Protection Agency under President George W. Bush. "Although the administration is moving forward with climate change regulations at home, we don't consider how policy decisions in the U.S. impact greenhouse gas emissions in other parts of the world."
Over the past six years, American energy companies have sent more coal than ever to other parts of the world, in some cases to places with more lax environmental standards.
The consequence: This global shell game makes the U.S. appear to be making more progress than it is on global warming. That's because it shifts some pollution — and the burden for cleaning it up — onto other countries' balance sheets.
BY THE NUMBERS: Where Kentucky, Indiana stand on coal production
"Energy exports bit by bit are chipping away at gains we are making on carbon dioxide domestically," said Shakeb Afsah, an economist who runs an energy consulting firm in Bethesda, Md.
As companies look to double U.S. coal exports, with three new terminals along the West Coast, America could be fueling demand for coal when many experts say that most fossil fuels should remain buried to avert the most disastrous effects of climate change.
But the administration has resisted calls from governors in Washington and Oregon to evaluate and disclose such global fallout, saying that if the U.S. didn't supply the coal, another country would.

White House officials say U.S. coal has a negligible global footprint and reducing coal's use worldwide is the best way to ease global warming. The U.S. in 2012 accounted for 9 percent of worldwide coal exports, the latest data available.
"There may be a very marginal increase in coal exports caused by our climate policies," said Rick Duke, Obama's deputy climate adviser, in an interview. "Given that coal supply is widely available from many sources, our time is better spent working on leading toward a global commitment to cut carbon pollution on the demand side."
Carbon dioxide, regardless of where it enters the atmosphere, contributes to the sea level rise and in some cases severe weather in the U.S. and the world.

Changing the global system to account for production would carry political risks, especially for the U.S., which is trying to boost production of energy and exports even as it addresses global warming.
Over the past six years, as the U.S. cut coal consumption by 195 million tons, about 20 percent of that coal was shipped overseas, according to an AP analysis of Energy Department data.
Less coal being burned here has helped the power sector reduce carbon emissions by 12 percent and left more U.S. coal in the ground. But a growing share is finding its way abroad.
Analyses suggest U.S. exports could be reducing by half or wiping out completely the pollution savings in the U.S. from switching power plants from coal to natural gas
The nexus of the challenge can be found in and around Norfolk, Va., which exports more coal than any other place in the U.S. and is already experiencing one of the country's fastest rates of sea level rise.
When the Prime Lilly, a massive cargo ship, set sail from Norfolk recently, its 80,000 tons of coal were destined for power plants and factories in South America. The 228,800 tons of carbon dioxide contained in that coal disappeared from America's pollution ledger. But they still pollute the planet.
It's a planet hungry for American coal. U.S. exports to Germany have more than doubled since 2008, providing a cheaper alternative to cleaner-burning natural gas and a replacement for nuclear power, which is being phased out after Japan's nuclear accident.
Last year, Germany's carbon dioxide emissions grew by 1.2 percent, in large part because the country burned more coal.
German environmental officials say the recent boom in coal-fired power is making it harder for the country to meet its climate-protection goals, even as it has increased renewable energy and participates in a carbon market that has lowered emissions throughout Europe.
Activists partly blame the U.S. "This is a classic case of political greenwashing," said Dirk Jansen, a spokesman for BUND, a German environmental group. "Obama pretties up his own climate balance, but it doesn't help the global climate at all if Obama's carbon dioxide is coming out of chimneys in Germany."
