LOL...you have to be young. No you wouldn't....I thought the same thing with SRPT. I didn't. I made an absolute fortune....yet here I am. You don't get full, it just makes you more hungry. If it doesn't, the you'll probably pull a MC Hammer and blow it all on your "boys." Honestly....just take profits when you can, and keep fighting the good fight. You'll be fine.
Appreciated. Good weekend to you and all here
Yes. I do weekly. I do and have done this for a living for the last 18 years....Successfully. Don't assume that hundreds of thousands are uncommon, in fact assume that it is a necessity to do anything of consequence in trading for income and wealth for your/my/a traders family. I won't go not specifics, however the amounts you are eluding to were dwarfed by my profits on this one. This is not a common winning trade, however it does happen more than you might expect. Options, when done correctly as trading vehicles, are a very profitable instrument.
Feb 14th....FDA decision on the AdCom consensus 15-1 for. Are you a current investor? If so, and this is not an insult or a dig, why don't you know this?
I'm beginning to think I'm the only bipartisan trader here. Anyone trading up AND down besides me? Options peeps....option. Up cumulative 1620% in 5 days.
Agreed, great day for ARIA. Last week I bought Feb 6, 7, 8 and March 7, 8 calls. Sold 3/4 of the position today for healthy profits....added 1:1 Puts this afternoon on the remaining position for a potential pullback on Monday. Fun Friday.
For other Biotechs, bought Strangles on VNDA for FDA decision on the 31st and CHTP strangles for their Feb 14 decision.
Added fairly heavily on the call side today....I'll balance it out next week on any upside run with Puts on the cheap. This will be a very profitable FDA event so long as they don't delay.
Possibly, but I anticipate a big move in either direction. My March strangle is closer to the money on both ends. Good or bad news in Feb, I should profit nicely. That's why I'm keeping the premiums in check.
Added Lottery Strangle today. Feb $3 Puts and Feb $8 Calls for .45 total. May add more next week....watching premiums and playing it by ear right now.
So LNG as the decision is not delayed, I don't see this not being a very profitable trade. I believe this will move a lot in Feb.
And they accurately called this:
In 10/2011, The Daily Mail floated a rumor that GSK offerring $25/share to acquire HGSI (Human Genome Sciences). The article on the rumor can be found at the following link:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/money/markets/article-2050257/MARKET-REPORT-GlaxoSmithKline-just-tonic.html
The rumor turned out to be true and GSK completed acquiring HGSI in a few months later, as reported in the following article:
http://www.bizjournals.com/washington/news/2012/08/03/glaxo-completes-human-genome-takeover.html
Rumors sometimes pan out, other times not.
It's a way of buying calls in order to capitalize on what you feel will be a rise in the stock price....but rather than make it a gamble (ie it will be over $8 by the end of January or my calls expire worthless) you get to spread it over time at varying prices. Not for every play, but in some instances I use them.
Sorry it took so long for me to get back to you, I don't have PM on here. I'm in March $4 puts and March $5 Calls....heavy and 1:1
Funny...I don't need $20 though
I don't wait that long....I'm an options trader. I generally don't stay for what ifs, I don't pump, and I make money up or down. That's about it. GL with your position
If this goes over $8 tomorrow I'm out short-term options at 1600%....holding remainder of longer-term options
Lol....mine are pretty layered. I'll likely sell the nearer term options tomorrow.
My LEAP calls are looking nice.
Great advice
Agreed. This board is comical. This will be my last post here. There is no legit dialogue nor any upside to posting anymore. GL to you.
I have lost money twice in 15 years on a major FDA announcement. Not many can say that. I don't ever buy lotto tickets, nor do I play on small events. You should take a flyer and maybe follow suit....unless you are all on in this company. I will profit handsomely on this unless they postpone the announcement. That is the only way I lose money, can you say that? Either way good luck.
Buying calls and puts this week. Watching premiums
Straddle. I'm fairly certain this thing moves violently either way.
I'd like to think so... Approval I'm thinking $6+, denial sub $2. Denial would be nice lol
Correction:
Sorry, didn't see this until today. I was in calls....sold. If I post a trade it is always options. I only hold shares in my core account.
I'll be looking at options prices over the next week in CHTP to initiate a straddle or strangle. Feb 14th will be the FDA announcement and it should produce a big move in either direction. Taking a look at a straddle on VNDA to buy tomorrow as well....FDA decision on the 31st.
Sorry, I was not paying attention when I typed....ARIA was last weeks trade....Feb 14th is for CHTP who had a panel recommendation 15:1 for approval. FDA announcement is on the 14th. I'm out of ARIA for now. VNDA has announcement on Jan 31st.

I'm not familiar with this company....how big is this for the company? Is this a blockbuster/business essential?

Lol....I could care less about the company, just need it to move on news. I'll let management worry about the company, I'll make money in either direction...just need MOVEMENT. Big movement
Agreed....looking for a drop to the low 4's to load up again on calls. Adding calls steadily through Feb for FDA announcement. Likely add puts (1:1 on calls) on last week run-up into announcement (hopefully) to hedge on the cheap. A "sort of" straddle. If this runs either way I'll be sitting pretty. If it sits stagnant then I'm out a few bucks. Don't think that will be the case though. Traded this one successfully for a while...up and down. GL and have a good weekend all.
ARIA - Ariad Pharmaceuticals (ARIA) +9% premarket after announcing the commercial availability of Iclusig for adult patients with refractory chronic myeloid leukemia and Philadelphia-chromosome positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia in the U.S.
I saw an article on Zero Headgear a couple months ago showing over 50% drop in viewership in last 18 months. Definitely not what it used to be.
Who needs CNBC when we have you. Thanks for taking time to post all these.
I'm a big fan of parabolic moves....99% of the time you make $ up and down. Sidelined for a while.
Out Puts...another 510%
Out at 1480% on calls. Waiting for the churn to dissipate for premiums to normalize. Will look for re entry later in day in either direction. Good start to the year on bios
I'm not seeing what you're seeing. Nothing posted yet.
